The perfume is good and lasts quite a while. It’s very different from the For Him, not better, but the Intense smells more elaborate and complex. If the For Him has similarity to Armani Code, this one has it with some Givenchy. Upon drying, it has a rich smell of chocolate and iris.

The scent is accurate and has good longevity, though it’s not better than For Him. The Intense version feels more crafted and complex. If For Him reminds you of Armani Code, this one smells like something from Givenchy; as it dries down, it leaves a rich chocolate and iris trail.

  • It’s hard to find better value for money. Very good performance for something that, far from the pyramid, smells like a classic masculine iris with touches of lavender and pear upon drying. Dhi, what a go. It’s quite linear like almost everything from Zara, but it’s very good. Every day I realize that if everything were bought at the official price, most of what I own would be Zara or equivalents. Price hikes almost never match quality improvements.

At first, it reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez Blue Noir Parfum but with more sweetness. In the end, it resembles the Gentleman Reserve Privé and also gets powdery. It’s not declared, but the iris is there. On skin, it lasts about 8 hours; on clothes, it’s eternal.

Good value for money, decent longevity, and average projection. It belongs to the gentleman family, although upon drying, the quality difference with the original is noticeable. It opens fruity and aromatic; the iris is there, although it’s not listed in Zara’s official notes. In my opinion, it smells different from the For Him and beats it in scent and performance. One of the best from Zara.

At first, it reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez Blue Noir Parfum but with more sweetness, and in the dry-down it has similarities to Gentleman Reserve Privée. It powders quite a bit. Although I didn’t declare it, there’s iris in there. Lasts about 8 hours on skin, but on clothes it’s forever.

  • I’ve been buying fragrances from Zara for the office for a while. I’m tired of paying hundreds of euros for things that barely last half a morning and stop smelling on you (like Tom Ford or Jo Malone). Yesterday I stopped by Zara and started sniffing the testers to see which one I’d buy. My three-year-old son was the one who told me it smelled very good; I understand he likes it. It’s a gourmand style, smells sweet with vanilla and tonka, and although it’s not declared, I clearly smell a smoked pear; I don’t know where that smoky scent comes from, but it’s there. It doesn’t say spice boots, but there’s something spicy and aromatic, not piercing. In conclusion, it seems like a fragrance for going out, it has something dark, sweet, and sexy. I don’t see it as entirely suitable for the office, but since it’s not too heavy, it seems like an option (I tested Ombre Nomade for the office and people got headaches). The iris note is one of the main ones; I don’t know why they don’t declare it when it’s so obvious, although the sweet smoky touch might obscure it a bit. For the price (22€), it’s splendid. Not being identical, I’d say it’s 80% of Dior Homme Parfum. I owned it, although DHP has much heavier sillage and longevity, I would never wear it to the office. In fact, even in the bottle they seem inspired by DHP, for some reason…

The iris note is one of the main ones; I don’t know why they don’t declare it when it’s obvious, although the sweet smoky touch might be masking it. For the 22€ it costs, it seems splendid. They’re not the same, but I’d say it’s 80% Dior Homme Parfum. DHP has much heavier projection and longevity; I’d never wear it to the office. In fact, even on the bottle of this one, they seem inspired by DHP; there must be a reason for that…

Sometimes Zara gifts us jewelry in perfumery within everyone’s reach. For Him Intense is one of them, modernizing the DNA of its line and taking it to another level. If you’re looking for classy and mature scents, it’s a tremendous option. It follows the line of Dior Homme, Givenchy Gentleman, and Valentino Uomo, but adds a new twist. The blend of a talc-powdered iris and chocolate, with the classic vanilla from the original and a whiskey-like alcoholic touch, makes you feel like a gentleman, Tommy Shelby style (though watch out, it’s totally unisex, it looks incredible on girls too). For $30, it’s a steal. On my skin, it lasts surprisingly long, easily around 8 hours. The projection is intimate, so it’s perfect for evening dates in a shirt or suit. I use it in any season except summer with intense heat. It works well day and night, right in the middle point between dense and fresh. Recommended? Totally. Blind buy? No, test it first. In short: an elegant iris fragrance that doesn’t smell like makeup.

  • Watch out, it’s not bad. It has nothing to do with the Gentleman Reserve Privée or the Dior Homme, which I know well. It feels more familiar to another Zara fragrance I gifted my wife, the RED TEMPTATION. I recommend trying it before spending; I bought it by catalog and it wasn’t what I expected.

  • Perfumum28, the one you tested was the Red for Him Intense, not the For Him Intense; they have similar bottles.

My relationship with iris is complicated; I find it very elegant and nocturnal, so I hesitate twice before spending on a Dior Homme Intense or Parfum. But I tried this one from Zara and convinced myself to finally get my first powdered iris. It’s not expensive, making it easier to take the plunge. Yes, due to ingredient quality, you might notice a strange note right after spraying, but overall it smells quite similar to a Dior Homme Intense or a Gentleman Reserve Privée, for a lower price.
