Descripción
Elegantly Tokyo by Zara is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2021, this olfactory composition features the signature of Jo Malone. The top note presents the freshness of lily of the valley, giving way to a floral heart dominated by jasmine, while the base settles on the warmth and depth of akigalawood.

For me, it’s the one that stands out the most from the Jo Malone line. But it doesn’t quite convince me. It’s pure jasmine. The opening didn’t disgust me, but afterwards I sensed something spicy, somewhat strong, which made me not like it. It seemed like a vintage perfume. As the hours passed, it started to soften, and then I liked it a bit more. I felt it similar to a baby perfume. Anyway, I wouldn’t be brave enough to buy it and I wouldn’t recommend it for blind buys.
Extrafloral opening, very intense, multifloral. It’s a perfume with personality. But I don’t identify with it. I would still recommend it.
The scent this perfume projects is extremely similar to Alien, I’d say 95%. If you smell it up close on the wrist, you can distinguish different notes. In this one, I sense a slightly greener scent and something like chamomile flowers, whereas in Alien I smell licorice. That said, the scent that defines each perfume is the one you feel when it projects, not the one you smell up against your skin.
I hesitated a lot with this perfume since I’m not a fan of jasmine. I have the 10ml roll-on and I’m enjoying it a lot, especially on warm summer nights. It smells to me like very fleshy, wet, and sensual white flowers. It doesn’t have a great evolution, but it’s fine as is. I feel it’s delicate and very feminine. I’ll probably get a 40ml bottle.
Personified elegance. Perfect, aquatic, natural, freshly cut jasmine. It vividly reminds me of Diptyque perfumes. Am I the only one? The DNA is similar to what the French house creates, and it definitely has that green stage presence. The longevity on skin is amazing, and on clothes it lasts for days. I feel like its somewhat “mediocre” name does this GREAT fragrance a disservice. It’s not an ugly name, but I think it doesn’t do it justice. This could be an exquisite perfume outside of a series of city adjectives for the public to try and decide (I’ve tried all 8 and most of them; they seem enchanting). I’m saying this as a Zara fan and a huge Jo Malone fan, and although it might seem contradictory, I intend to discredit those people who see a commercial fragrance at 23 euros and think it’s low quality, generic, mainstream, and impersonal. Nothing could be further from the truth. Zara is a genius that houses perfumery jewels, some already discontinued, that remain objects of desire even for powerful noses like @Espartaco’s, who I read expressed nostalgia for the house’s first male scent, Zara Man, which launched the textile giant in the two thousands. Thanks to these collaborations because, far from being despised, they harbor the true perfumery essence aside from unreachable maisons and cosmic prices. This is like everything: you search and don’t find. You don’t expect, and you receive. 9/10.
For me, a 53-year-old gentleman, even though this perfume is more feminine, it reminds me of my grandmother, that scent of lilies and jasmine that characterized her. Wow, it brings back such lovely memories.
Pure lilies, supporting jasmine, and a woody dry down. The first time I wore it, it reminded me of my grandmother’s garden, full of good vacation memories. However, there’s something that reminds me of that Ambipur fabric freshener my mom used on the pet beds—argh! I like it, but I associate it with that. Highly recommended if you like florals; elegant and feminine, more suitable for women over 25 than for teenagers. Perfect for spring and summer, paired with a linen dress by the waterfront. Maybe I’ll buy a bottle since I only had the discovery set; it’s not crazy to have such a scent in my collection.
I walked past Zara and, something unusual for me, I ended up smelling the scents, and this fragrance pleasantly surprised me. It’s very similar to Miu Miu but reminded me of an eighties vintage scent from my memory that I can’t quite place. It’s not the eighth wonder, but it’s a worthy aroma and I really liked it.
A very elegant floral, though I feel it’s a bit vintage because of the lilies that give it that vibe. It’s definitely feminine, with a woody base that adds distinction and keeps it very clean. It’s not my favorite from the line, but it’s very well done thanks to its noticeable moderate projection and good longevity for the price. What a pity it’s not available in Argentina anymore…
It’s a delicate floral that I thought wouldn’t last as well as others in the series, like Fashionably London, but yesterday it lasted over seven hours. People kept asking what perfume I was wearing, noticing my trail from more than a meter away. It’s a light white floral, nothing too sweet or suffocating like the Carolina Herrera ones that can be overwhelming if you overdo it, but this Zara scent doesn’t have that problem.
I’ll just say that I’ve received more compliments with this perfume that I underestimated than with many others from renowned or niche brands.
I love this perfume; it’s one of my favorites, not just from Zara but in general. It smells like freshly cut white flowers; you can perceive the aroma of the flower and a type of greenness, like when you cut a flower and the stem is still turgid. It gives me a very clean sensation, it’s zero overwhelming, and it lasts me a good 6 hours. It’s a shame it’s no longer available in my country.
A little surprise from the Amancio house, thanks, honestly. This is a well-executed low-cost Diptyque, crafted with care, so tender, luminous, and simple… it smells like a child’s bedroom, clean, with a sharp citrus pop I can’t quite place, probably from that lily or another ingredient, no idea. I don’t feel anything here that transports me to Tokyo or similar, nor would I describe it as elegant in itself; it lacks gravitas and personality, but the little it has is captivating. It’s a pristine, sunny, crystal-clear scent, comforting, like fulfilled dreams and many zeros in the bank, little effort, I don’t know, classic rich girl vibes with her Veja sneakers and a baby stroller full of Vichy-patterned bibs taking a stroll with her husband four meters away, distractedly looking at his phone; I cross paths with her, both of us smile; as I pass, I smell her skin (I just got out of the gym), and she smells like this simplified brew of pure “nothing” that she wears so much anyway. We’d be such good friends in another life, I think. I keep walking.
I grew up in a small town, back in those days when no one locked the front door. The gardens were inside the house; there was jasmine and lilies. When the evening breeze blew, it shook them, and the fragrance entered every room, perfuming everything—lingerie, curtains, walls. During a visit to Zara, the name caught my attention. I sprayed it in the air with the tester and started crying. I remembered the house, my parents who are no longer here. Of course, I bought two at once. It’s a very intimate perfume; it’s not invasive, but when people get close, they sense the aroma of cleanliness, freshness, purity, of being at home. Apparently, Zara no longer has it available.
It’s not just pretty; it’s what comes next. It’s a beautiful perfume. It’s like opening the door to a garden full of jasmine and lilies on a mild spring day. I’ve never heard anything from Zara with such tremendous quality. It’s very elegant, beautiful, nothing artificial, and for a laughable price.
At first, it smells very much of flowers, especially lily of the valley, which is great, but as hours pass, it smells like soap, but not in a pleasant way; rather, it’s harsh, and I don’t like it much.
It doesn’t say it has cherry, but it smells like cherry, and the jasmine is another predominant note, exquisite like everything from Jo Malone. Unisex but more feminine. Excellent quality in a Zara perfume.
Intense floral; the first few times it seemed too overpowering, but not at all. It’s become addictive on my skin, lasts hours, and evolves beautifully. It’s very elegant, clean, simple, yet with personality. As hours pass, it becomes cozy, like it’s always been there. It was the surprise of this winter; I’ve left my gourmands aside for this quiet beauty. Elegant, modern, feminine. It’s a perfume that puts you together; you feel put-together with it, clean. It has so much class. It works in all climates because I’ve worn it at 26 degrees on a sunny, humid day and at 4 degrees in Madrid, and it performs equally well. Priceless.
To me, it smells clean. The blend of notes makes it pure and crystal clear. It’s a very elegant and versatile scent, perfect for the office, formal events, or outings with family and friends. It works all year round, though in very hot summer areas, it might become a bit overwhelming. It’s a beast in terms of longevity and sillage. It’s a great perfume that doesn’t cost a fortune. The name fits perfectly, combining the elegance and delicacy of a country like Japan.
This perfume is an ode to jasmine and lily, a totally natural scent. I’ve had a bottle for two months, and since day one, it lasts over 8 hours. I see it as unisex; in my case, I like wearing it in summer afternoons and evenings when it’s cooling down, as it reminds me of jasmine after a hot day.
I’m obsessed with it; it has an indescribable touch. It’s the one people ask about from afar, which says a lot. Every time I wear it, at least someone says I smell amazing. I highly recommend it, especially for spring and summer.
I just found this gem today. I started browsing the perfume section and, by a stroke of fate, stumbled upon this unexpected scent. Upon trying it, the fresh jasmines hooked me immediately, perfectly captured and natural. The lily accompanies it without getting in the way, light but complementary. It’s a fine, high-quality, elegant jasmine, not showy, with a moderate trail. I didn’t know what Akigalawood was, so I looked it up on Google: it’s a biotechnological synthetic component of patchouli, with a spicy or woody scent, sustainable, and used in luxury fragrances. I was happy to bring it home, adopted this 30 ml bottle, and it seems they didn’t skimp on the ingredients. A smart purchase. Ratings: Scent 10/10, Longevity 7/10 (3-5 hrs), Sillage 8/10.
What a beautiful fragrance. If you like smelling clean, elegant, and sober, this is for you. Very well made, and it lasts 5 hours on my pH.
It’s very delicious, fresh, and different. I have the 30 ml version and I’m not sure if I’d buy it again; maybe I will. I’ll keep using it for a few days. It was a blind buy with a happy ending; unlike Energetically New York, which feels too masculine to me. Unisex perfumes just aren’t my thing.
Yesterday, when I walked into the school where I teach, a girl left an incredible perfume trail. It was a lovely woody scent. When I got to homeroom, I saw it was a substitute teacher and told her it was super noticeable and really nice. Without thinking, I asked what it was; she said it was one of Zara’s, Tokyo, that her friends gifted her for her birthday after she’d been sick for a while. I suppose it’s this one. A beauty for those who enjoy woody florals. It brings back memories of Modern Muse Chic, which was sweeter, but they clearly share notes. I’m writing it down to see if I can find it used.
This is a minimalist, floral, and sophisticated perfume that reflects the delicate essence of Japanese culture. The lily opens with a white, ethereal aroma, then the jasmine enriches it without being cloying, and the Akigalawood base adds depth and warmth. It’s clean, elegant, and perfect for those who love white florals with a modern twist. Ideal for everyday wear, the office, or elegant dinners, especially in spring and autumn.
Here in Argentina, I had to visit five Zara stores to find it, and I did because both times I tried it, I loved it. I’m not sure if they changed the formula; the dark gray box version smells much more spicy, while the light box version has a lighter base with more jasmine. It’s supposed to be unisex, but now it feels more masculine to me. It lasts forever, and the price-to-quality ratio is top-notch.
I’ve had this on my wishlist for a while, but it wasn’t until a friend let me smell it that I went crazy. Update: I finally tried it on my skin and I absolutely love it. It’s not worth stressing if you can’t find it, as it reminded me of Zentis’s Absolute Jasmine, but this one is even better.
Unfortunately, even though I usually love white florals, this smells too green for my taste. It’s just not for me, and on top of that, it barely lasts two hours on my skin… what a shame, because I’d heard nothing but wonders, but it just doesn’t work on my skin.
Jasmine on my skin feels invasive, even giving me headaches. It’s too dominant. I mix it with Escale a Portofino or CK One to add a fresh touch and cut through the heaviness. I don’t detect any Akigalawood at all.
My review is for men, I never felt it on a woman. Jasmine predominates, it’s unisex and I like it, it feels quality. I don’t recommend it because it’s not for everyone, I use it as personal enjoyment. At first when applying it you say ‘no, this is 100% feminine, too much jasmine’, but the magic is in the dry down. On my skin it feels masculine: neat man, clean, delicate but who knows what he wants.
Oh, what a terrible fragrance! It smells green, very green, I can’t stand it at all. When I used it, people told me it smelled like insecticide.
In the opening, I smell linden flower, even though it’s not declared. It’s a fairly linear white floral, smells the same from the start and loses potency when sniffed close to the skin at 6 hours, with a moderate trail. It feels original and fresh for heat. I feel it similar to Avon’s Today but without its sweetness. It’s not for blind buying, only if you like this type of fragrance.
In modern perfumery, I thought you needed lots of resources to make a good perfume, but the truth is you don’t. Maybe they didn’t invest much budget coming from Zara, but they did hire one of the best perfumers. The result is incredible: the jasmine with lily is so natural it smells like both flowers together, with an exquisite woody base. It projects at 1.5 meters, lasts more than 7 hours, and is a white floral a man can wear. I’ve received dozens of compliments, something rare for me with traditional perfumes. It’s proof that a good perfumer can create a jewel without many resources. Highly recommended.
How rich it is, it smells exactly like fresh jasmine straight from the plant, juicy and fresh. It’s exquisite, more spring-like is impossible, it’s like I’m bathing in jasmines. It has a bit of wood that closes it as it dries. I see it as more feminine, though maybe with layering a man would use it perfectly.
Robindecants! The opening makes you wonder if it’s for men or women, but it’s so rounded that you just let it pass. I haven’t received so many compliments on a men’s floral in a long time. It feels like a hidden gem.
It seemed super feminine, like a woman’s soft cheek. The flowers are very realistic, fresh, and not green; I perceive rose, thinking of pale pink. It gives me the same vibes as Burberry Her without resembling it.
I love it because I’m pure jasmine. It’s a halo that envelops you with a woody touch. For a Zara perfume, it has excellent longevity and has nothing to envy from designer fragrances.
Pure jasmine blended with woods, it’s a lovely perfume, ideal for a white floral in spring. Hours after applying it, it reminded me a bit of Alien, though at times I sensed something of My Way in its DNA.
Starts with a clean, volatile jasmine that settles into a strong, sweet, and intoxicating scent, like summer flowers: Paradise Tree, Azarole, Bride’s Jasmine, and Palo de Agua… maybe it’s a bouquet of them all.
