Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes Intense by Zara is an oriental floral fragrance for men. This creation, launched in 2024, unfolds a scent pyramid where the top notes combine mandarin, ginger, and bergamot; the heart reveals the elegance of orange blossom and blackcurrant; and the base settles on a warm, enveloping amber.

This is not a good fragrance. It smells aggressively synthetic right from the start with that sharp tangerine note, and it feels too artificial. It offends people who dislike it, but I’ve heard it on some girls wearing heavy makeup and a ‘choni’ aesthetic; since they have the same taste in clothes and perfumes, they always go for the cheapest and flashiest options.
While the previous version stood out more for its citrus and floral notes on my skin, this Intense is clearly different, with the tangerine and ginger really coming through. I prefer this one, both in scent and performance. This has nothing to do with Pacific Chill.
I liked it more than the Imagination clone by Fraiche in Mexico and more than the Immortel by Maison Alhambra, which I didn’t like. Zara scents aren’t long-lasting, but this lasts a bit longer than other older launches. I see there’s now a stronger version of this same Sunrise. I wouldn’t buy it, but this is better than other Imagination inspirations or clones.
It’s similar to Imagination but has its own twist: the original has black tea, and this doesn’t declare it, but it clearly has green tea. It generates divided opinions; some girls love it, while others say it smells like dirty dishes. Also, the bottles have leakage issues and the caps don’t close well. Shame about the fragrance, but I do like it.
What an exquisite perfume!! I love citrus, and this has me captivated. At this rate, it won’t last long. I tried this and the original, and they smell the same, but this is more intense. I know the reviews for Imagination, and I say this delivers on all the good things people say about it. The Zara one is a sharp citrus that dries down to smell like soap, but it’s rich, fruity, and high-quality soapy. I tested Full House and others, and the Zara one beats them all. I’ll definitely buy another bottle because I read that Zara has a habit of discontinuing great perfumes.
No, the opening is nothing special. While the dry down is quite good, I personally find the regular version more enchanting. A 4.55 rating seems crazy to me; this is a 3.9 or maybe a 4 at most.
It’s a masculine fragrance that initially feels like a chemical shock, but then it turns out to be distinctly citrusy, almost exclusively tangerine. The downside is the terrible performance: the trail is scarce, and after 2 hours it’s barely noticeable, and by 3-4 hours it’s just a skin scent. For the price, I’d say it’s average.
Sorry, I gave this a bad review before, but after giving it a chance, it’s won me over and I’ve almost finished half a bottle. Now I absolutely love it; this rarely happens to me, but it’s totally WORTH IT. 😮💨 I’m already thinking of buying two backup bottles in case Zara discontinues it.
Fantastic. It’s like the original but sweeter and longer-lasting. It doesn’t resemble Imagination because here, the aquatic and subtle tea vibe of Louis Vuitton is replaced by a sweet, potent floral that lasts and lasts, like a Duracell bunny. The opening is more citrusy, very realistic—lemon or bergamot. I can’t judge projection yet, but it’s clearly noticeable beyond the personal bubble.
Smells amazing, with bright citrus notes and a spicy ginger kick, blended with blackcurrants and orange blossom for an amber sweetness. Performance is decent—better than the average Zara scent. Lasts well, though projection is moderate. Highly recommended for the price and that powerful opening; the aroma has nothing to envy from others.
It’s addictive, one of the best from Zara.
It’s rich, except that at first it smells just like yellow cleaner, but the dry-down is excellent.
I bought it blindly based on reviews, and it was a total hit. Those citrus touches are an absolute delight; I love them.
Definitely in the top 3 of Zara. An incredible scent and top-notch longevity for a Zara perfume. Buy it without hesitation. 9/10.
They changed the bottle color to black. The smell is quite good; let’s see if it lasts.
They just gifted me this one, and I already own the original. The original seems a bit brighter to me than this one. I’ll wait for it to mature a bit because I was expecting something better.
Zara’s best perfume, at least in the last three years. Even though the opening smells very synthetic, once it settles, it’s an absolute masterpiece. It’s similar to what happens with Club de Nuit, though they are very different perfumes. The longevity and, especially, the projection are excellent, better than most designer perfumes. In short, it’s one of that top ten percent of Zara that’s truly worth it. With the Profumun Roma bottle, it would be worth €300, and no one would say a word.
Of all my collection, this is one of my favorites; in my opinion, it’s undoubtedly Zara’s best perfume and beats many designer scents. It’s earned me plenty of compliments and has become my signature scent. I don’t dislike any facet of it, and even with the packaging change, it could be worth much more than it is.
Zara has changed the presentation to a dark gradient bottle, and from what I’ve seen, the scent has changed too. The transparent bottle from a few months ago felt sharper, while the new one feels fruitier and sweeter, almost with an unlisted peach note. I like it more now than before. The longevity is good, and the price is right too. I’m very likely to buy another one.
I have the new dark gradient bottle. Some people smell cleaner at first due to the citrus burst, but it settles beautifully afterward. For me, the ginger adds a nice acidic edge when mixed with the citrus. Heat helps bring out the warm base notes, reminding me of Creed’s Adventus with that tropical touch. It evokes a mix of passion fruit and pineapple with something more noble. Despite having amber and tonka bean, it’s perfect for hot weather and warm evenings. Not everyone likes this special blend; the acidic opening can be off-putting, but it leaves a sweet, warm trail that isn’t cloying. If it were perfect, I’d swap the orange blossom for iris to make it cleaner and drier, since orange blossom with citrus and blackcurrant smells like pineapple or passion fruit, which not everyone enjoys. It doesn’t project much—it’s more of a personal bubble scent, and I think that’s fine, as more projection would make it invasive. Its warm base adds a sensitive yet strong masculinity, ideal for those tired of oud or synthetic fragrances. I don’t smell the incense listed on the packaging at all.
An underrated perfume (even more so with the Arab fragrance boom). It’s a great all-rounder, fresh, and versatile. At first, it might feel like powdered juice due to a synthetic vibe, but only if you’re paying too much attention. Safe blind buy. The quality-price ratio is more than correct. Incredibly, it’s one of the fragrances that has given me the most compliments (if that matters, you’re doing well). As for its previous version (not Intense), that one is brighter and sharper at the start, which many might like. But if that’s not a dealbreaker, in all other characteristics, this Intense leaves the other obsolete. I have the old one, with the clear bottle.
It’s one of the best from Zara. Very versatile. On paper, it’s not for cold climates, but thanks to the added sweetness compared to the original Sunrise, I think it can be worn in winter. It doesn’t smell like room freshener like some comment. It has a late, dark, and sweet tangerine opening. I think the tangerine eclipses the bergamot and ginger, though they are noticeable and don’t have much protagonism at the start. Gradually, it settles, loses the tangerine punch, and becomes softer but equally pleasant. The longevity is good, but the trail is short; you won’t be smelled from two meters away, but if they get close, they’ll notice you smell good. I don’t know if anything changed in the new format.
I love it. It’s clear: if any Arab house sold this, its social media hype would be off the charts. The Sunrise opening is loud and citrusy, smelling of sweet tangerine. I admit that the first time I tested it at Zara in winter, it reminded me of some orange floor cleaner, but now with higher temperatures, it seems exquisite. Gradually, it loses its aggression, orange blossom stands out, and it becomes creamy and harmonious. Personally, I feel it works better with moderate to high temperatures, without reaching extremes, as it can get sticky. The performance is good and quite better than other Imagination inspirations I own, like the Essence by Blanc.
Sunrise On The Red Sand Dunes Intense is one of Zara’s best and, depending on taste, could be your top fresh scent. Regarding the review, it’s the original Intense with a clear bottle and golden liquid. I don’t know the version with the gradient or subsequent ones. The scent is easy to get used to but so well-constructed it’s a work of art. It smells like high-quality sweet tangerine soap. The dominant notes are tangerine and ginger, with orange blossom and a touch of amber. That soap scent gives a fresh-out-of-the-shower feeling, but it’s not generic. It’s simple, easy, and a great performer. Its longevity and projection are very good for Zara. Sometimes it seems to disappear due to olfactory fatigue, but it’s still there for hours. Compared to the original Sunrise, this Intense is the same thing but highlights the tangerine and sweetens it more. Since the scent is similar and the Intense performs better, I’d always choose this. If you prioritize a more floral (unisex) scent and don’t mind it lasting less, the original might suit you better. In any other case, go for the Intense. Final note: 10/10
Buy it, use it, and don’t tell anyone; it’ll be a secret. It’s amazing, very citrusy, launches bursts for hours, lasts quite a bit, and smells like a 10. Don’t recommend it, this perfume isn’t for sharing.
I prefer heavier winter fragrances with tobacco, oud, leather, or liquor. Fresh scents don’t hook me as much, but this Zara one is exquisite for spring and summer, works well for any age (I’m 54), and lasts longer than the average Zara scent. I don’t know how the new version will be, but the one I have has an unbeatable price-quality ratio.
For me, it’s one of Zara’s best, without bashing the others. I don’t know the Louis Vuitton one, but this is delicious; it oozes elegance and refinement through the pores. The citrus and orange blossom are realistic and well-blended, creating a delightful opening. It’s also ambered and slightly fruity due to the blackcurrant (a note I love and which has been in my top picks like Givenchy Insense, though they aren’t similar). I had to lie about the brand when people asked because I knew if I said Zara, they’d look away. I like the toilettes, but I prefer this one, perhaps because it performs better and doesn’t need to be summer to wear it. For the price, no one would think it’s this good; it competes with high-end perfumery without issues. You have to try it at least.
I’ve tried both the EdP and the Intense, and I’m sticking with this one by far. Sunrise On The Red Sand Dunes Intense is a blast of lemon and freshness the moment you apply it. It’s like visiting your grandparents’ country house, heading to the lemon and orange trees, and eating the fruits one by one. They smell powerful, last long, and project a ton. I walked out of my room, and ten minutes later, someone told me to check the perfume trail down the hallway. Let’s be honest, there’s no money in the LV Imagination game, but if it smells this good, it deserves all the hype and prestige it has. For the modest among us, this is the Hacendado Imagination boosted x10 in intensity.
No doubt my favorite from Zara right now, especially in the Intense version. If you buy it, you’ll be hooked. It delivers citrus in its sharpest form in this new edition. I’ll definitely be stocking up soon.
It’s my go-to scent for everyday wear, and considering the price, it’s more than worth it. It smells amazing, has good longevity, and lasts quite a bit longer on clothes; honestly, I couldn’t ask for more. In fact, people have asked me several times what I’m wearing, and I’ve been playing dumb.
Something weird happened with this fragrance: about three weeks ago, I tested the new bottle with the black/gold gradient at Zara, left it there for an hour, and then put on my Apple Watch. Today, while wearing that same strap, the scent is still there; even with my wrists near my chest while typing, I catch a whiff of it. I’m not sure if it smells exactly like Imagination since I’ve never tried it, but the longevity is spectacular. It’s a must-have for any casual occasion or just walking around the house smelling great. The scent isn’t groundbreaking, but it projects 100% cleanliness, and the only time I wouldn’t wear it is on cold nights; otherwise, it’s an accessible all-rounder.
I tried Zara Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes Intense after seeing recommendations on TikTok and bought it in-store. I use it for several days, applying it to my neck, wrists, and nape. On skin, the longevity is good, but it lasts much longer on clothes. At first, the ginger stands out with a citrusy mandarin touch that gives immediate freshness. Then the notes settle, and you perceive a subtle amber. In the end, it leaves a pleasant clean, soapy sensation with the soft amber. I haven’t noticed any extra notes outside the official pyramid. The projection is moderate, lasting about five hours on skin, though much longer on clothes. Even though I tested it in winter, I think it works better in summer and is perfect for daily use. I see it as clearly masculine, with a summery and fresh vibe. What I like most is the price and the blend of citrus and ginger; the only thing I’d improve is the projection. My girlfriend can’t stop saying she loves it, and my friends praise it too. Overall, I give it a 9/10 and would recommend it to everyone, especially those looking for something daily, fresh, and summery.
Good Imagination clone. It’s a cheap option if you’re looking for something citrusy and sophisticated. Moderate trail and good skin longevity. 8/10.
The perfume smells really rich.
I bought it recently because of the hype that it resembles Imagination, but I don’t feel that way. I expected something very fresh, but for me, what dominates is the ginger, which leaves a sensation of sweet tea, not fresh, and I can’t really perceive the citrus notes well. I’ll keep testing it to see if my opinion changes.
It’s a fragrance that evolves in minutes. It always smells great and truly evokes its name: the sun rising over the sand, very citrusy. It has a sweet base that sometimes appears; I get the impression that if you wear it during the day, by night it transforms into an evening perfume. It’s tremendously versatile, rich, and special for the price. Totally recommended.
Hi, I had a lot of hype for this perfume after reading all the reviews, but the reality is different. 1. With the bottle change, they might have modified the scent, because on my skin it doesn’t smell like people say on YouTube. 2. It’s not citrus with a light touch of fresh tea; it’s green, smelling strongly of pine and outdoors. It’s not sexy, youthful, or fun; quite the opposite: sophisticated, mature, and serious. 3. It’s a very mature fragrance; I don’t recommend it for young people; it’s ideal for those 35 and up. 4. The performance is positive, it lasts a long time, and projects well for its scent type and price.
It’s a citrus scent with a resinous twist, since besides the official notes, it carries pine resin and labdanum. It smells strikingly bright—citrus with a soft sweetness from pine oil. I paid $40 for it and it’s an excellent purchase, especially compared to the Aqua Dubai clone which costs $100 and doesn’t even resemble the original much. I’d choose the Zara one a thousand times. It performs well and projects strongly for about three hours.
It’s a Zara-style Imagination clone, just like the other famous ones like Full House or Hawas Kobra. I love it because it lasts forever and is super cheap. I’ve tried the three most famous clones of this perfume, and I stick with the Zara one for the quality-to-price ratio it offers.
For me, it’s the best Imagination clone from LV. While the dry-down leans slightly heavier into amber than the original, there’s a subtle tea note that’s not listed on the bottle. Solid performance and unbeatable price; that’s why I consider it the best men’s scent from Zara, perfect for days over 20 degrees. I grabbed it for about $30, and it’s worth every penny.
