MenezesD, they don’t resemble each other at all. Dior Homme Parfum 2025 comes out like an Armani Code and dries down like a JPG Ultramale with iris, whereas this Prada is clean, less soapy than the EDTs, and has more leather notes with iris. But honestly, they’re not alike.

  • Menezes D is formally similar to Prada L’Homme Intense in its dry-down, not its composition. If you spray a lot of Dior Homme Parfum 2025, the dry-down leaves a subtle iris reminiscent of Prada: dry, powdery, and clean. Dior Homme Parfum 2025 is better; it improves or completes Prada in that regard. People don’t notice how similar the two irises are because in Dior, the amber is powerful and draws the focus there, but if you look closely, the iris is still there and they are very alike. Once you realize it’s there, it’s no longer so subtle. It can also depend on the skin; on my skin, Dior Homme Parfum 2025 and Prada L’Homme Intense smell very similar and dry down to Prada’s iris.

  • Campeones22, thanks a lot for your reply on the comparison, it really helps me make a decision!

  • Wearing L’Homme Intense is like walking into a room where everything has already been said, but you decide to speak anyway. It imposes a slow, controlled rhythm, as if every gesture is perfectly measured. It smells like neatly folded clothes, kept secrets, and a masculinity that doesn’t need to make noise. It doesn’t seduce with fire, but with composure. There’s something about that dark iris (very different from Dior’s) and that nearly clinical amber base that doesn’t seek attention, but avoids it with such elegance that it ends up capturing it instead. I wear it when I want no one to know what I’m thinking.

UPDATE: The performance really leaves something to be desired; that’s its biggest flaw. It’s a magnificent perfume with a refined and elegant iris. The blend of talc woods and iris gives me the sensation of being in a field of fresh sweet but soft flowers—nothing invasive. Sometimes it reminds me of Prada Luna Rossa Ocean but this one is deeper and more serious. Prada knows how to work with iris like few others; that talc-like touch never feels old or cloying. It projects elegance and presence without shouting. I see it as perfect for a mature man who cares about his image. Maybe its only weak point is that it’s not for everyone: it’s not casual or suitable for heat or parties. Rating: 9/10 (not 10 due to performance). It smells like a field of violets with iris and clean talc. I’d use it at the office on dates or for formal dinners in cool weather. I don’t see it as suitable for heat or casual outings. Recommended age: 30-55 years.

  • Legitimate question for a perfume-loving soul: does Dior Homme Parfum 2025 really smell like this Prada? Would it be redundant to own both?

  • My first review on Fragrantica even though I’ve been part of the community for years. My bottle of Prada L’homme Intense is from 2024 so I don’t know the old formula. For me it’s a bomb: it lasts over 8 hours and lasts for days on clothes. It’s talc-like elegant and refined smelling clean. It’s one of those perfumes I’d buy again without hesitation just to have as a backup. Hugs.

  • Mauriciop

When dry it smells the same as the EDT but with more sweetness and creaminess. It smells amazing if you love creamy non-powdery iris. It doesn’t last long or project much; it lasts about 6 hours on skin with only the first 2 hours projecting moderately. The EDT version projects more.

One of the best worked iris scents in perfumery. Elegant, clean, and addictive. Moderate trail and good longevity. This perfume is art and class. You’ll like it and the people around you will too. A true great perfume. 100% recommended.

  • Rich scent with a nice trail though the longevity is moderate. It starts floral and feminine—elegant and attractive—but dries down to be a bit masculine and intense. The iris is soft and distinct from Dior’s paired with a sweet non-generic patchouli a non-realistic leather base light amber and a touch of smoky sandalwood. A great perfume but not for hot climates. First impressions are excellent. To me it smells very similar to Boss Bottled Parfum although Prada L’homme Intense is more expensive and came out earlier. While Boss is casual and rugged this conveys elegance and sensuality reserved for special occasions. The floral notes fit the Yves Saint Laurent brand perfectly.

  • Lobo_Estepario

Great perfume. A very rich iris, this fragrance oozes elegance and class to no end. A clean scent slightly dark thanks to that leather note. I prefer it to the EDT because in longevity and projection, without being a beast mode, it surpasses it hands down on my skin. A delightful fragrance.

Puff, one of the most versatile, clean, elegant, and delicious scents in my collection. It was on my list since 2018 and I’m annoyed I took so long to get it. It’s persistent but not intrusive; iris, amber, and sandalwood star in its entire life. The projection is barely perceptible but it doesn’t need more. It’s excellently balanced, although for those looking for twists it might seem linear. I’ve used it for everything (gym, office, nights out, dinners, before bed) and it delivers in all… it handles extreme climates, useful day and night. It doesn’t smell like makeup, but intensely masculine. 10/10.

  • Castellon90

I don’t know why, but I feel like in the heat it doesn’t last for me at all. In cold weather, yes, just like with the Mara Villa.

  • emilianEDT

At least for my taste, it smells like talcum powder. Nothing masculine, good thing I tested it before buying. I didn’t fall for the TikTok hype.

  • Alcazar_kb

It prints itself on you like Spider-Man’s Venom; you can walk through any European bag (you can wear shorts, a t-shirt with holes, and flip-flops) and start pulling money out of your pockets… it’s one thing, man… listen to me, it’s profitable.

  • First review in this community, I got motivated because I’m truly in love. From the first time I smelled it, I thought it was enchanting. A friend was selling his 2019 bottle (Puig batch), I knew it from reviews, and being an iris lover, I was interested. He sprayed me and I was completely smitten, I felt like I was in the clouds. That clean, talcum-powdered iris scent, with a sweet and amber touch, and a leather note that although not very perceptible, adds class and creaminess. Unfortunately, I couldn’t buy it then, but this year I decided to. Reviews said L’Oréal had lowered the performance, but on my skin it’s still a bomb: it lasts 8 hours, projects well for the first 3, then settles nobly. I use it at 25-32 degrees, but I wear it in the office or on cool nights (15 degrees) and I love it. Although they say it’s linear, for me the first phase is clean, almost soapy and vibrant, and the second is talcum-powdered and silky without losing elegance. Even with iris, everyone loves it. If you’re afraid of throwing money on iris fragrances, it’s a great option to start. Spectacular, I would buy it again and again. At 22, it’s one of my three pillar iris scents (alongside Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privé and Dior Homme Intense).

One opinion is just an opinion. Here’s mine, with a half-empty glass and the smoke of my last cigarette in my throat. L’Homme Intense by Prada… what can I say? If the EDT was magic, this is wet cardboard. They say it’s been modernized; I say it’s been washed, trimmed, and domesticated. The soul stayed in the first bottle, and here there’s only a sad echo. The internet has inflated it like a cheap balloon; everyone sells the same story of “elegant and mysterious.” I smell it and I don’t care. Simple and flat like a freshly cleaned bar table. Bleu de Chanel, the boring cousin, gives it a high five. It’s the scent for those who don’t want to think, just so people can say “you smell good” without remembering your name. I respect those who love it, but I can’t. No spark, no play, and that damn magic that makes a perfume sink into your skin. There’s just an expensive suit hanging on a mannequin. While I smell it, I remember other scents that made me feel alive… and this one simply isn’t invited to that table.

  • Pleasant, clean, and intense. I bought it recently and I’m not sure if it was a good investment; it doesn’t work well in the heat and on my skin, it leaves a barley-like scent that isn’t exactly pleasant. No complaints about longevity and projection though. I’ll keep testing it when it gets colder to see if it performs differently. 6.5/10 for now, hasn’t convinced me yet.

  • Honestly disappointed. I fell in love with the EDT and bought the Intense expecting something more impactful, but it turns out it smells much weaker… I can’t find any difference between the two. Absolutely unnecessary to own both.

  • I’m going to give my honest opinion: I’ve tested the Intense, the EDT, and the Eau, and I don’t understand where recent comments come from that label it as ‘boring’ or ‘no trail.’ Some say they expected more after trying the EDT and ended up disappointed. That surprises me. Many judgments seem to come from those who smelled it on blotter paper in the store without letting it evolve on the skin. Whoever really tests it discovers one of the most refined and elegant creations in modern perfumery. Prada L’Homme Intense is exquisite. If I could marry a fragrance, it would be this one. It’s sophisticated, elegant, and conveys serenity that only well-made luxury achieves. I have the original, Dior Homme Intense, Dior Homme Parfum, and Givenchy Gentleman Réserve Privée in my collection, and I still affirm it has the best iris I’ve ever smelled, even above Dior Homme Parfum. For those who say there are no differences with the EDT: there are. In the Intense, the leather is noticeable from the start, deep and elegant, integrated with a more sophisticated iris, an amber touch, and the tonka bean that adds warmth. It keeps the slightly talcum facet of the original, but here there is a more earthy and mature nuance, with a denser texture. To say it’s simple is to not know Prada: they don’t make simple perfumes. It’s an exercise in refinement where each note fulfills its function. The leather gives body, the iris identity, the amber softens, and the result is ultra-polished. Does it resemble the EDT? Yes, they share DNA, 70-80%, but the difference is noticeable skin to skin. The Intense is darker, deeper, and more serious. It’s not a ‘stronger’ version; it’s a more mature and structured version. Its longevity is good, slightly above average, and the projection is moderate and refined. It doesn’t invade; it accompanies with class. Whoever gets close will notice, but it won’t be overwhelming. In summary, it’s a modern masterpiece. Elegant, warm, and balanced. Whoever says nonsense that it’s common probably never smelled it with attention. It demands sensitivity and a taste for the subtle. For me, it remains one of the most elegant and complete ever created. It represents the soul of Prada: neatness, minimalism, and sophistication. Yes, it’s suit and tie, nothing casual, it’s disrespectful. Scent: 10. Originality: 10. Sillage: 7. Projection: 6. Longevity: 8. Versatility: 5. Formality: Elegant.

Edit: now I understand what’s happening. For my nose, the iris and spicy notes don’t work well. The perfume comes out like the EDT but more intense, then dries down to iris + talcum powder + spices, making it harassing. If you already bought it, put on 2 or 3 sprays and keep it away from your nose. I think the EDT is better.

  • It’s a different option and it’s appreciated. I like it more and more. The distinctive note is the iris, of the ‘clean’ type, not the makeup-like iris of Dior. It’s accompanied by a kind leather and I detect tonka bean very clearly, perhaps a bit of amber. Up close, it’s almost overwhelming; it’s very dense and the tonka is noticeable. From a distance, it gives the sensation of clean clothes. Projects quite a bit and lasts a long time. Ideal for work meetings, but be careful with the sprays. Worth the money, but don’t recommend buying blindly because not everyone will like it.

  • Hello, I never reviewed perfumes, but this one made me create an account. In my city (Cali), it’s almost impossible to find testers for this Prada reference, unlike Dior, YSL, or Chanel. I had a YSL EDP almost finished and was looking for a worthy successor in the line of ‘blue perfumes.’ I tried several online, but I could never try the Intense until now, which I had to order as a decant from another city. Love at first sniff: the opening is explosive and it’s the best iris I’ve ever smelled (above Dior Homme Parfum, which is a great perfume but very elegant). It’s sexy and addictive, although my mistake was thinking it would replace the YSL; it’s for special occasions, not so versatile for the day or extreme heat. I chose it over other options; it doesn’t fit my initial needs, but I adjust my needs to it. It’s total madness and worth it.

  • Absolute disappointment. Smells like iris and talcum powder; it’s flat, feminine, and I don’t detect any leather. The projection is non-existent and it lasts about 5 hours. Its sister, the EDT, is recommended, but this one is not.

  • Since it entered my collection, Prada L’Homme Intense is one of my favorite iris scents. The combination of iris and leather is magnificent: clean, soapy, and deep, with a marked and dry iris and a powerful but not rough leather. Together they build an elegant, distant, almost elitist opening. Gradually it becomes warmer, closer, and sensual thanks to patchouli and tonka, maintaining that clean and enveloping character. I use it on cold autumn and winter nights or formal daytime occasions with cold. It has moderate projection and excellent longevity, surpassing eight hours on skin and remaining for days on clothes. It conveys calm, security, and distinction, both at work and on special occasions. It pairs very well with Prada L’Homme: I reserve the original for the everyday and the Intense when a plus of elegance is requested. Compared to Dior Homme Intense, which can remind one of the iris, the Prada feels cleaner, sober, and drier, while the Dior is more fleshy, creamy, and voluptuous.

  • I think the complaints about this fragrance come from the self-sabotage Prada applied when reformulating it. I tested it a long time ago and was dying to try it, then I tested it a little later and… where is the iris? And that cheap amber? And the trail and longevity? Everything went to hell with the new batches. I put the new paradigm on one arm and the Intense on the other, and they practically smelled the same. Pure synthetic amber similar to what we find in the mid-range catalog of Zara.

  • JonathanJavier

I’ve tried many iris scents and didn’t expect such a surprise with a note I thought I knew, but this dark, velvety iris has me hooked. It’s refined, distinct from Dior Homme Intense which is more smiling and creamy; this one gives you a hand without looking at you with malicious flair. It has a catch: it’s loaded with sweetness and a shrill amber. It works and doesn’t work; at times I ignore it and at others it’s overwhelming. It’s not that cheap sweetness with coumarin, but it’s a pity. For those seeking niche presence, know that you’re here, but it comes with a price. At the start, it smells of mild spice, confirmed in the olfactory pyramid as ‘warm spicy,’ although Prada doesn’t declare it. That spice prevents it from feeling so feminine; it’s not Kouros, but a novice might see it as androgynous. There’s also a earthy spectrum that, being over-sweetened, soils the aroma. When the amber mellows after two hours, it improves greatly. The leather rounds it out and adds masculinity that counters the sugary patchouli. I feel this was what Luna Rossa Black was missing, which is very feminine. The Intense is more elegant and substantial, while the Rossa Black is youthful and clean. L’homme Intense doesn’t break molds; it trusts in making its style better than the rest. I’d give them credit if the amber were better handled. I was going to save it for winter, but surprisingly, it holds up to 28 degrees. Does it shine? When it rains; the iris wraps you like a purple cellophane with the droplets. Lasts about 4 good hours and then survives close to the skin for another 4. Projects very well at first, over a meter and a half, the limit of what I consider annoying. It feels woody, but I don’t detect the buried sandalwood, and I’m glad, I’m tired of it. After 12 hours, when it finally fades, it leaves an interesting soapy sandalwood trail; I prefer that to the spices. Magnificent for the night. I don’t know if I’d wear a perfume with so much iris, but if I were to do it, it would certainly be this one. 9/10.

  • One of my favorites. I love it on men and women: it adds presence and distinction, yet smells approachable and has received many compliments. I think anyone who loves iris is covered with this and its EDT version for almost any occasion. Both leave an elegant, neat, and special imprint that avoids boredom and makes them very attractive. For me, an absolute 10.

  • It’s sexy and particular. It has a lot of elegance and class. I see it for use at a night wedding. It’s a beautiful perfume and has a lot of style; it’s sophisticated and dark.

  • I won’t go on, just saying it’s one of my top 3. Smells like absolute cleanliness and neatness; perfect for men and women. Good performance on my skin and very original—nothing like those cloying sweet scents these days. For me, it’s a 10/10; I’ll always keep a bottle at home. The iris note is the best I’ve ever smelled, even compared to Dior or Givenchy; Prada handles it better. Every time I wear it, I get compliments. Compared to the original, this is more serious and dark for special occasions. 100% recommended.

  • Javi De Palma

What a crazy perfume! It’s not my absolute favorite in the collection, but it’s definitely in my top 3. Plus, it’s the perfume I get asked about most often: ‘What are you wearing that smells so good?’… and it’s no wonder. Prada L’Homme Intense smells delicious. It’s a floral iris, like fresh violet, with ambered accords and a slightly leather base, which becomes powdery, clean, and elegant in the dry-down. That kind of aroma that reminds you of freshly washed and dry-cleaned sheets. Pure class. Pure addiction. Some say it’s not versatile, too elegant for certain occasions. Well, as always, every nose is a world. For me, it’s totally versatile. It can perfectly be a signature fragrance. Adjusting sprays to the temperature and context, it can be worn all year round and in practically any occasion. It doesn’t project like a beast, but it doesn’t try to. It’s a fragrance seeking subtlety, presence, and refinement. Still, it projects about a meter and a half and leaves a delicious trail wherever you go. Longevity is more than decent, and on clothes it becomes quite long-lasting. I never recommend blind buying, but if you like iris fragrances and scents that smell clean, you have very few chances of not liking it. I’ve known it for a long time and owned several bottles, but until today I never reviewed it. And it’s curious, because seeing what’s coming out to the market lately, fragrances like this get better with time. A modern classic, elegant and timeless.

  • One of the best designer iris fragrances out there. Seems niche. Masculine iris, versatile, delicious, with a dry-down that leans a bit dark. A signature fragrance for a while, for sure.

  • Marco Reus507

The bottle is back in my collection; it’s a very rich perfume. The previous bottle felt more iris and tonka bean to me; this new one I feel more lavender and leather, with an equally present iris. I maintain my position that this isn’t for daily use but for formal occasions, night, and cold weather. It’s a dense, dark, and heavy fragrance. It smells mature and nothing youthful. Don’t buy blindly, test first. Its longevity is good. The bottle I had before didn’t last as long and had good projection, but this one apparently has better longevity but less projection, which is weird.

  • This perfume is an iris bomb; it’s dense but also clean. It’s floral and dark. I don’t recommend buying it blindly. I like to wear it at night.

  • One of my favorite fragrances since I can remember having a sense of smell, and since my adolescence. I met it back around 2017/2018 when it was gifted to my dad, and I fell in love ever since. I’m on my third bottle, and it feels like a must-have. It’s a fragrance that literally smells like a clean man with that iris. Although for many people this version is for special occasions and the EDT is better for daily wear, personally I think it can be worn every day (excluding very hot situations), as long as you don’t mind standing out. It has good longevity and a slightly weaker sillage; generally, everyone likes it and finds it normal because it smells elegant and refined, basically clean. Perfect for a formal event, a date, going out at night, or heading to the office. 9/10.

  • On Skin Parfums

Hey, I bought this Prada L’Homme Intense EDP last time in 2025 for about 65-70€ in a physical store; you can get it cheaper online if you have patience. To start, it’s one of my favorites in my entire collection (and I don’t have few perfumes). It combines that clean, luxury fabric softener/modern barbershop scent with a deeper, more masculine base, but without becoming heavy. The whole thing is extremely elegant. On my skin (dry), it lasts about 7 hours. On clothes, literally (real case): I kept a suit for two weeks, and when I took it out of the closet to wear it again, I got a clear blast of this perfume. The scent was still there. Note: perfumes tend to fix better on noble fabrics. Also, if applied inside the lapels, longevity on clothes is multiplied. It has an elegant sillage, nothing invasive. It usually gets compliments when I wear it, and I personally love how it smells on me. I’ve even used it on summer nights, though with fewer sprays. Do I recommend it? Yes, without a doubt, and I’d buy it again with my eyes closed. Still, as always, I recommend testing it on your skin first.

  • Aka_Kaiser22

I was really excited to try this, but to be honest, it disappointed me a bit. It’s a solid, undeniably elegant and formal fragrance. The good thing is the iris is very present, with those powdery, talc-like notes that give it a certain distinction and a clean feeling. Longevity and sillage are decent. However, the talc is overwhelming and completely unbalanced; that’s the flaw. I feel like sometimes it smells like an older lady’s perfume, reminding me of my grandma’s Moussel soap. Is it bad? No, it just isn’t for me. I think it’s extremely unisex. Don’t buy it blindly or as a joke, especially since the price isn’t low. Abstain if you don’t like talc or vintage makeup scents.

  • yss.fragancias

This perfume is way out of the ordinary. It’s pure iris, leaning more towards unisex without losing its masculine edge. It smells very elegant and denotes style and class. I wear it for special occasions, especially in colder weather (not recommended for summer), and it works better at night than during the day, though there’s no problem using it by day. Performance is quite good; people notice it, and it lasts a long time on both skin and clothes. I don’t recommend buying it blindly at all, because you might personally not like this type of aroma, but if you’re looking for something refined and unique, you’ll probably like this from Prada.

  • This is a VERY talc-heavy fragrance; it smells like a mix of talc with Iris and Violet; these two notes are excellent and feel natural. The opening is great, with medium longevity. It lingers on clothes for days. For dressing up, it’s one of my favorites in the collection. I see it more for temperate to cold weather; not for summer. Outstanding overall.
