As a fan of the original Sand Desert At Sunset, I tried the Intense version in-store and it felt much more masculine. The cedar and frankincense seem to have more weight, so even though I like it, I think it suits a man better. For now, I’m sticking with the original, which has a more pronounced sweet side and lasts forever on my skin. The Intense does last a bit longer, maybe an extra hour or two, but the original is my favorite. Reviews on my Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube channel @probadoaprobado.
Excellent longevity, the scents are potent, slightly ‘dirty’ but it’s more than fine. If you prefer something softer, the original version is still good. Lasts quite a bit on skin and clothes, for days!
I stumbled upon it while browsing at Zara and was pleasantly surprised. It’s one of those scents I love: sweet and rich, perfect for cold weather. Very attractive, noticeable for the first hour, and creates a personal bubble perceptible for another two hours. On skin, it lasted six or seven hours, but as I said, it’s noticeable during the first two or three, and after that, you have to bring your nose close. I didn’t buy it immediately because it might be redundant with other sweet winter fragrances I already own, but if ‘Sand Desert At Sunset Intense’ drops to a good price on sale… EDIT: after a week with my head ‘poisoned’ by the memory, I finally bought it.
I stumbled upon this while browsing at Zara and was quite surprised. It’s one of those scents I absolutely adore: sweet, rich, and perfect for the cold. It’s very noticeable in the first hour and creates a noticeable personal bubble for another two. It lasts 6-7 hours on my skin, but as I said, it’s perceptible for the first 2-3 hours, and after that, you have to get close to the application spot. I didn’t buy it immediately because it might feel redundant with other sweet winter fragrances I already own, but if this ‘Sand Desert At Sunset Intense’ comes up on sale at a good price… EDIT: After a week with my head ‘addicted’ to the memory of its scent, I finally bought it.
Spectacular perfume with great skin longevity, about eight hours. Projection is moderate; the first two or three hours are very noticeable. It’s very sweet and captivating as soon as you spray it. Recommended for the price.
I bought two bottles online, just opened one, and it has a black cap and a gold atomizer. I don’t know if they reformulated it; it’s been a month and four days. It feels very weak, nothing like what I tested in-store a few days ago, and the scent seems different… Edit: I opened the second one, and it also has a black cap instead of gold.
I bought it today at Zara. I was surprised to see the black cap. I think the 2025 version has the black cap and the 2024 version had the gold cap. I like the new one much more. The gold-cap version felt a bit muted, especially in the opening. This new one feels richer in its note profile, fresher in the opening, and dries down incense-like. I can’t stop smelling it. Another improvement is the atomizer, much better than the previous series. Too bad the cap isn’t gold; I loved that. Regarding performance, I couldn’t say yet, but I’ll test it tomorrow and edit. Edit: I applied it this morning and the longevity is correct. It projects well for 1.5 hours, then moves to a personal bubble. At 6 hours, it stays close to the skin, where it lasts more than 12 hours. Let’s see if letting it mature improves the projection and sillage. I’ll edit again after some time.

Same thing happened to me as Manolo1988 in the previous review: black cap and different sensations, especially regarding longevity. The one I tested in-store lasted on my skin until the next day; just moving my arm released the scent. This bottle I received is not the same. I don’t understand why. Edit: it’s the Intense version, as stated on the box and bottle, but it comes with the black cap.
For the last two commenters about performance, I have one I bought right when it launched, and it lasts for me. Think about this: the sample we say “lasts” is open and maturing, which improves the scent and performance in any perfume. Let it mature for a couple of months and then test again… And watch out! It must be the GOLD cap! The black one was from the previous version, which was indeed weak.
Not for me, just like the Sunrise Intense version. They seem the same as the first ones but raw, denser, and cloying; none are better than the originals… so passing. As for performance, both are very good, though.
I’ve been wearing this for a month, mostly at night. It’s VERY sweet and VERY gourmand, perfect for going out and turning heads. On my nose, I detect the iris (lily root), and in my view, that touch adds class and distinction compared to other sugary fragrances flooding the market. On my skin, I get about 10 hours of longevity with decent projection for the first 2 hours. In conclusion, an ridiculously good perfume for the price; it’s great to see Zara doing so well in perfumery.

What a great perfume. Very creamy, opens with a sweet gourmand, and closes gourmand. The opening has buttery citrus notes, then that vanilla emerges immediately, enveloping the fragrance throughout its duration. In the base, once it settles, it becomes ambered with chocolatey cacao, touches of bitter orange and cinnamon, all wrapped in vanilla—super delicious. The longevity pleasantly surprised me: on the first day, it lasted 11 hours like a champion until I showered, and I could still smell it from 10-15cm away, much more potent than expected. I was worried based on reviews here since I smelled it strongly in the store, but the new 2025 versions seem to have changed the cap and possibly been reformulated. Just to say, yes, it came with the black cap and I find it more intense than the store version. I’ve been lucky to try Angel’s Share, the regular version of this Sand Desert, and Khamrah. The only one I wanted to try was the Zimaya blend. Of course, Angel’s Share is on another level, but in my opinion, although they are all unisex, this Intense is the only one I liked enough to consider keeping, finding it more masculine.
A completely different scent from what I have in my wardrobe. I’d describe it as oriental; it doesn’t resemble anything else. It’s rich and I love it, but it’s not the best I’ve smelled from Zara by any means; there are other fragrances I prefer. Longevity and sillage are average; it doesn’t last long on my skin. It’s not a head-turner, but a different proposal featuring vanilla, cinnamon, and orange. Curiously, it reminds me of Coca-Cola (a mix of vanilla and cinnamon). If you like those notes or the cola scent, you’ll probably love it. I just don’t like cinnamon much, which is why it’s not better than other Zara options, but I adore it—it’s rich and evokes desert sands. A 7.5/10.
Pleasant surprise. I own several Zara perfumes, and this is the best one. There’s always the longevity issue with Zara, but this one delivers hands down; it lasts and stands well above the brand’s average. It’s incredibly delicious; for the price, it’s absolutely worth it.
Try two sprays: it’s the same fragrance, though the dry-down smells a bit more like chocolate, but in the end, there’s no noticeable difference. I liked the first one, and this is just as good. Unisex aroma, leaning feminine, super sweet, and only for cold days.
Tested with two sprays on skin. With the regular version, it’s the same fragrance with just a slightly more chocolatey dry-down, but they’re indistinguishable. I liked the first one, and this is equal. A unisex scent leaning feminine, overwhelmingly sweet, and only for cold climates.
I tried both versions of Sand Desert at Sunset. While they share a sweet and spicy DNA, they have distinct personalities. The original is lighter and brighter: a sparkling opening with orange and cinnamon that blends into a comforting heart of cacao and iris, like a warm autumn hug. The Intense is denser, darker, and deeper; the cinnamon and cacao remain, but with resinous and woody touches that give it a more mature, serious vibe. The longevity doesn’t change much, but the Intense has a stronger projection in the first hour. Ideal for night outs or very cold days. The original is more accessible and versatile; the Intense is its older sister—sober and commanding. For the price, both deliver. If you prefer a youthful gourmand, go with the original; if you’re looking for something deep, choose the Intense.

Didn’t hook me, way too sweet to the point of being cloying. It’s a captivating scent, but only for those who enjoy sweetness bordering on excessive.
Didn’t work for me, too sweet to the point of being cloying. It’s true that it projects well, but only for people who love extreme sweetness, almost to the ridiculous level.
Excellent fragrance, good quality, and feels refined. These latest ones from Zara have nothing to envy from designer brands. The longevity is super good, about 7 hours (for the price, nothing to complain about). It doesn’t project as much; it’s a skin scent. Summary: 8.5/10.
Finally got it out of the closet since last year, waiting for the temperature to drop. If it lasted its usual time last year, this year it absolutely killed it. I put it on at 5:15 AM for work; by 2:00 PM I could still smell the trail on my clothes and skin, clinging like a limpet. All morning it released bursts of that warm sweetness. I’m not lying, at 6:00 PM at home it was still on the clothes and shirt, not projecting but right to my nose. Before my shower at 8:30 PM it was still on the skin, very fleeting but there. It was a bomb that accompanied me all day. I would never recommend it with heat; it must be suffocating in summer. Today we hit 25 degrees, maybe it suits it better with more cold.
Delicious smell of toffee, vanilla, and very soft chocolate. Good longevity, about 6 hours, and low projection. A total hit.
Nice scent, good projection, and I love it.
Sweet, soft, and very well-spiced perfume, where cinnamon takes the lead and you can tell it’s high quality. It’s a beast of a fragrance. Although it’s sweet, it’s not cloying or annoying. It’s an elegant all-rounder: works great both casually and in the office. I use it sparingly and have already received several compliments, confirming it’s a pleasant, easy-to-wear scent with personality.
Such a great fragrance, what a delicious smell. It lives up to its name and reminds me of sand, perfect for the night, sweet, syrupy, and cozy. Despite that, it’s versatile for me, though sometimes it smells a bit like lipstick. The note that stands out the most is the orange, always present, but with that dry sweet touch, it’s a highly recommended fragrance for the price.
One of the best fragrances from Zara for men, although it’s unisex. It’s warm, sweet, and powdery; I notice the iris a lot, which gives it elegance. It lasts spectacularly, 8 hours on my skin, and projects well, noticeable around you. This ‘Sand Desert + Sunrise’ replaces half a designer collection at incredible prices with designer-quality performance.
A good, beautiful, and cheap perfume, ideal for the cold.
Sweet, soft, and very well-spiced perfume where cinnamon dominates and feels high quality. It’s a beast of a fragrance. Despite being sweet, I find it quite versatile because it’s not cloying or overwhelming. For me, it’s an elegant all-rounder: it works very well for both casual occasions and wearing to the office. I’ve only been using it for a short time and have already received several compliments, which confirms it’s a pleasant and easy-to-wear scent with personality.
What an amazing scent, and I like it even more with time. For the ridiculous price, it lasts 8 hours on my skin. It doesn’t project much, more of a bubble effect. It’s spicier than sweet, with incense. As it dries down, the sweetness comes out, but it’s a mature sweetness. Without a doubt, the highest quality perfume from Zara by far.
Hello, I think this is Zara’s best perfume. It smells super warm and sexy, like an edible scent with amber, cinnamon, and vanilla. It lasts over 8 hours; it projects a bit at first, then settles into a very cozy personal bubble. It’s super versatile, though maybe not for anyone under 20. In enclosed spaces and up close, it’s incredibly charming. Perfect for winter and fall. I use it daily, at night, for formal or casual occasions, but it’s a 10 for dates. I’ve smelled it next to Kilian’s Angels’ Share, and they’re almost identical; this one is sweeter, less warm, and a bit flashier, but no one will catch you lying if you say you’re wearing the Kilian one.
