Of all the designer perfumes I’ve used, this has by far more projection and longevity, even compared to several niche scents. Very masculine, pleasant, and spicy. Indeed, it doesn’t have the ambroxan of the previous ones, but believe me, it’s 100% worth the investment. Buy the 100ml. Ideal for gentlemen on special occasions.
A beast in longevity and sillage. My batch is from 2024 and it lingers on skin even after showering, and on clothes until I wash them. The scent after coming out is spectacular. Definitely not for young people; it’s for romantic dates or formal gatherings, so usage isn’t very varied. However, I’d buy it again with my eyes closed.
I’m not a fan of Sauvage EDP, but this one was horrible to me. I don’t know what it is, but I asked my partner to wash their arm because I couldn’t stand it anymore. If you like it, longevity and sillage are excellent, but I don’t recommend buying it blind.
It’s not a big deal. It’s a good scent, but pricey for what it offers. It doesn’t clash, lacks presence, smells good and that’s it. Few occasions: cold, formal, or night. It’s quite overhyped, and given the price and the negatives, I don’t recommend it unless you love it a lot or are blind-buying with cash to spare.
My go-to night-out perfume. Adult aroma, super masculine, and elegant. Longevity is huge. I wouldn’t use it on a date unless it’s just a few sprays because it smells very strong. People love it and it lasts all night. 100% recommended, safe buy.
My nose and my friends’ don’t appreciate what others see. I really disliked it at first; it gives me nausea and vomiting. It’s excessively strong. Longevity is good and justifies the price somewhat, but the scent itself is very unpleasant to me.
Listen, don’t listen to TikTok. Does it smell good? Yes. Will you buy it? Only if you want to smell like a 40-year-old gentleman at a meeting. If you’re under 26, look for another perfume, honestly.
Smells good, but it’s for cold weather or night outs. At work, just two sprays. It’s for men 30 and up; the perfume goes with the person, not for kids. If you’re looking for something serious and masculine, this is your option.
To those who get mad at the ‘Sauvage’ name on the bottle: don’t make the same mistake. I hated it at first, but on skin, I went crazy. Yes, it’s pricey, but there are more expensive niches that aren’t worth it; this one is. It has a licorice note and projects a unique scent that people love so much they copy it. Try it in-store; many hate it because of the name and miss out on a gem. 10/10 for cold weather or chilly nights. Wish it performed like the early flankers, but it doesn’t fall short.
The best Sauvage, hands down. You only notice its density on the skin; it starts strong but then blooms into something clean, warm, and elegant. Versatile for cool weather and well-dressed folks, though better to skip it in the heat. Some say it smells old, but it’s for adults, not f-ckboys. Two sprays last all day; I once sprayed it and it was still in the car the next day. Brutal longevity and a safe buy if you like it.
Dior Sauvage Elixir 🌃👔 My god… what a piece of perfume. It’s pure masculinity: masculine, elegant, powerful, and with a sexy magnetism that hits instantly. The only reason I don’t own it is exclusivity: since it’s part of the Sauvage family, I know many use it. Although the Elixir is less common, you’ll inevitably see it on more than one skin. Just try it to understand its success. I thought it would be the most intense Sauvage, but I got slapped with reality: it’s different, has its own identity, and is more sophisticated. From the first spray, deep spiced notes of nutmeg, animalic and mysterious air. A warm cocoa-like nuance, balanced by freshness that keeps it vibrant. Irresistible duality: dark and warm, but with a fresh edge so it’s not heavy. Strong, imposing, hypnotic. It conveys luxury and masculinity without vulgarity. Not aromatic or citrusy like the original, but elegant, warm, spiced, and mineral. Brutal performance: over 24 hours on skin, days on clothes, powerful projection, and an enveloping trail. One of the most durable and noticeable from Dior. Occasion unequivocally nocturnal and formal. Not for day, summer, or sun. Shines at dinners, galas, or parties. On a date, it can be interesting for its spiced magnetism, not for being sweet. I don’t recommend buying blind; it’s easy to find, better to try. Although it’s accessible enough to risk it, its intense character may not please everyone. In summary: an exceptional launch, masculine, elegant, mysterious, and with insane performance. Its only flaw is the lack of exclusivity, but it’s a modern masterpiece proving Dior still innovates. Scent: 9.7, Originality: 10, Sillage: 9.5, Projection: 9.8, Longevity: 10, Versatility: 6, Formality: Formal.
Dior Sauvage Elixir is a statement of presence: potent, refined, and with a magnetic aura. It conveys security, elegance, and intensity from the first spray. Spiced opening with cinnamon, nutmeg, and spicy lavender that can be aggressive at first; the grapefruit gives it brightness. The heart softens the lavender, making it warm, with a sweet and sensual amber. The dry down reveals a deep, elegant balsamic woody base. Sophisticated, ideal for autumn and winter. Not for everyone, requires time. For me, after several uses, I found that unique charm. Beast mode performance: over 10 hours on skin, powerful projection for 4-5 hours, and lasts weeks on clothes. Top, imposing, and elegant. Rating: 9.5.
Bought in December 2022, known it for almost 3 years. It’s one of the most complex designer constructions today. It changes drastically, it’s not flat, it’s dual or three-dimensional. Young people say it smells weird, like an old man or shaving foam, and they’re right at the start: the first 20-30 minutes is that classic fougère from the 70s-80s, barbershop masculine with grapefruit, cardamom, and lavender. Then the spices, vetiver, and nutmeg appear, softening towards the base: amber, sandalwood, sweet patchouli, and licorice which sounds to me like velvety, creamy lactonic vanilla. The transition is impactful: they seem like two different fragrances. At first, rough, wild, John McClane or mullet-with-mustache type, totally masculine and loud. In the dry down, a 180-degree turn: modern, exquisite, elegant, with that creaminess no Arab imitation can achieve. For me, it’s fantastic because of that duality. It’s the opposite of the elegant guy who gets drunk and loses decorum; here it starts explosive and shouting masculinity, and ends refined and soft. I love that scandalous vintage part and the elegant twist. Incomprehensible that they say it has no presence. I bought a 2022 batch of 100ml, half is left, it’s potent and long-lasting.
The first time I didn’t like it at all, I was just getting into perfumery. Years later, I tried it again and it drove me crazy: incredibly rich, adult, formal, strong, and present. The downside: the price and versatility. In Argentina it costs $480,000 (330 dollars), which is exaggerated. I don’t see it for any occasion, and you shouldn’t wear much of it.
Sauvage Elixir stands out wherever it goes. On a different level than its massified predecessors. It radiates masculinity, confidence, and maturity. Intense opening with nutmeg, cinnamon, and acidic grapefruit. Ephemeral lavender, moving to ambered licorice that marks its character. Seductive and masculine, not for daily wear or all ages. It radiates maturity and presence.
So rich! Call me crazy, but the dry down is 95% identical to Dior Homme Sport. You really get those citrus notes, that typical orange from DHS.
Just one spray on my hand and you know it’s a monster. It needs to be worn with character and confidence, nothing casual. People say it smells old, but there’s a difference between smelling old and smelling formal; this is formal. Not very versatile, but if you hook on it at first sniff, it’s yours.
POWER IN A BOTTLE. I’ve had it for a year and it’s VERY intense. The opening is curious: spicy with a peculiar lavender, then shifts into a delicious blend of cardamom, nutmeg, and cinnamon, all wrapped in lavender. The longevity is brutal; I can still smell it the next day where I sat, slept, or hugged someone. Two sprays fill the room; at a friend’s house, I had to open the window and spray Lysol. It’s VERY strong. Max 3 sprays. It’s masculine, distinctive, and some will love it, others won’t. If you overdo it, it causes olfactory fatigue and headaches. Test it on skin first. Used right, it’s a table slam that demands attention and leaves a legacy. Scent: 10, Longevity: 10, Projection: 10, Total: 10.
Exquisite. Many say it’s for older people, but it’s classic, not about age, but about knowing how to wear it. In the heat, when I walk and stop suddenly, I get a burst of lavender that I love, even though it’s in the heart; after 2 minutes, it’s in perfect harmony.
Bought it in 2025, almost new (bottled April 2021), for an insane price. I’ve used it maybe 8 or 9 times and then put it away. They sold it to me for $80 (a gift), but in Uruguay, 60ml costs $300. It’s a good perfume, but not quite as hyped as Beast Mode suggests; on my skin, 4 sprays last 6 to 8 hours. If you like mature scents, it’s top-tier, but if you don’t know that style, don’t spend that money. It’s the richest in the Sauvage line, but if you can drop $300, go for niche affordable options like Piantino or Lorenzo Pazzaglia.
Designer category. Strong, very spicy, with that lavender well present. It distills elegance and is more ‘adult’. It has considerable longevity and sillage. It’s a great perfume; perhaps its only sin is the price and its lack of versatility.
It’s incredible, but difficult if you’re young. Spicy, rich, with a brutal opening and a dry-down far from the EDT. I feel that after a while it becomes more mature. I’ll try layering it with the EDT to see if I can keep the freshness of the EDT with the spiciness of the Elixir.
Undoubtedly, it’s the most potent perfume in my entire collection. EVERY time I wear it, someone tells me I smell great. It’s a bomb; you can easily fill a room, and it lasts days and days on clothes. It’s a powerful blend of iris, lavender, and spices, masculine and geared toward adults, nothing youthful. If your perfumes are Stronger With You or One Million, I don’t recommend this without smelling it first. Longevity 10/10. Sillage 10/10. With 10 sprays, you can easily smell and project for 24 hours. Price 9/10 because 50ml costs more than 100 euros.
It’s a perfume from the gods of Olympus, there’s no debate or explanation needed. If you can, buy it.
It’s essentially the same as before, the most refined version of the Sauvage line. In my opinion, it has better longevity and a stronger emphasis on the notes; it’s a scent somewhat different from everything else out there. The price is high due to its niche-like composition. I only see it for men aged 25 to 45, though that’s relative. It’s suitable for casual and formal wear, nothing athletic, quite manly. Although I know it will raise some eyebrows, the opening reminds me of Amouage Interlude Woman with its spicy notes. It lasts a long time, projects well, and exudes quality. It’s quite original; it’s not an aroma for me—I prefer the original EDT; it’s spicy, semi-sweet with smoky wood notes. Totally worth trying before buying, but I recommend it.
From my perspective (which is quite limited), it’s the best designer commercial fragrance on the market.
I’ve heard Dior Sauvage Elixir was reformulated at the end of 2025; has anyone here tested both the old and the new version?
I bought it in 60ml format. Unlike what I saw at the perfume counter where people made faces of disgust when smelling it, I actually liked it. I agree with many that it’s a modern fougère. I can’t describe exactly what it smells like, but it reminds me of lavender distilled by Chuck Norris after wrestling with a Maghrebi in a souk. You can imagine how long it lasts; more than 12 hours on skin and between 100 and 500 years on clothes. Ideal perfume for Meetic dates; Tinder is out.
Definitely, it has changed; blind tests with people outside the fragrance world clearly show the difference between an old batch and this 2025 version. The opening is much less potent and the longevity is shorter. During the dry-down, it approaches the original. What a pity.
Amazing perfume! For me, it’s for all ages. I tried it, I have a baby face, and I loved it.
Quite heavy; not a blind buy, I recommend testing it several times. A personality-filled, mature perfume, fairly spicy with amber, giving it a brutal projection and development. If you overdo it, it can become overwhelming, even clothes can smell after the wash. It’s one of the few heavy colognes that can be flexible in winter or autumn if you control it.
The potency and masculinity are driven by a dominance of cardamom, licorice, and patchouli. Its longevity is superior, and although I feel the ambroxan added more timeless luxury and masculinity, it’s not a reason to put this beast aside. Note: this is for men over 30 and dressed in casual or better attire.
Elegant and masculine, this fragrance clearly evokes the classic gentleman’s profile. It smells of maturity and is exquisite in its composition—complex, very potent, and long-lasting, to the point of causing headaches. I don’t recommend more than three sprays; it’s eternal.
A work of art; try it before buying, and if you like it, get it. It’s worth every penny.
It’s a great perfume; to be honest, it smelled better when it first came out, now it smells different. The same goes for the others.
The richest perfume for night and special occasions.
Great fragrance, very masculine. If going out to a special occasion had a smell, it would be this one.
Easy, my favorite from the Sauvage line overall. It’s a perfume I keep repurchasing because it smells like special situations, elegance, or a date with someone special. A powerful and pleasant scent.
Smells too strong and harsh for me, nothing pleasant. Maybe just because I’ve only heard nothing but praise for it.
Everyone is in their own world. In my country, there’s an Indian restaurant with lamb dishes that are brutal, and this fragrance smells exactly like the sauce they use. I can’t see myself smelling like lamb curry sauce all day long XD. Do not recommend buying it blindly.
