Christian Dior opened his fashion house in Paris in 1946 and presented the first collection in 1947. That same year he created Miss Dior with perfumer Paul Vacher. The perfume was presented alongside the fashion show and Dior wanted to work as a couturier and perfumer. From the start, the fragrance was part of the house's identity.
Today Dior maintains perfume collections for women and men. Miss Dior retains the link with the first fragrance; Sauvage occupies another masculine line, with an aromatic and woody profile. The catalogue is completed with make-up and skincare, but the brand's origin remains in that initial union of fashion and perfume.
