Have you worn Zara For Him Red Edition Intense?

Tell us how it opens, how it settles on your skin, how long it lasts and when you wear it.

  1. Matiluc

Good perfume. I sense it’s unisex but leans more feminine, which makes me hesitate to wear it. It’s not that I dislike it; I just don’t know if I’d want to wear that DNA. It’s incredibly similar to Red Temptation For Her—I can’t tell the difference. I don’t recommend buying it blind, like I did, especially in Argentina, since it costs around 20 euros elsewhere but 70 on Zara’s website here. Lasts forever, even after showering. The trail is super potent. It’s the fragrance I own with the best longevity. I’m surprised they claim it has low projection.

  2. jausmaniac

Smells like burnt wire. I tested it on my wrist and the initial spray was acceptable. After that, I applied it generously and made a big mistake; the dry-down scent is extremely unpleasant. I wouldn’t gift it to anyone or keep it on my shelf. Although I’m not a fan of the regular Red, this smells even worse than the Intense version. Zara: you can discontinue it without a second thought.

It smells like a burnt wire. I tried it on my wrist, and the initial projection was acceptable, but after spraying it generously, it was a huge mistake; the trail it leaves is very unpleasant. I wouldn’t even gift it to myself to keep on my shelf. Even though the regular Red doesn’t suit me, its scent is still quite more pleasant than the Intense. Zara: you can discontinue it without a second thought.

  4. Binaural

I tested it in-store, and on my skin, a smoky accord stands out a lot. At first, I felt the rich sweetness of the Red Edition, but I’m not sure if it was just olfactory fatigue. After half an hour, all I could smell was unbalanced leather and smoke. I didn’t want to risk testing it on clothes, but I repeat that I hope it was just olfactory fatigue.

It smells like burnt rubber to me, does this happen to anyone else? Where is the power? And the sweetness? And the longevity? What a letdown.

  7. If you want to smell like a dentist’s office, this is your perfume. It’s exactly what you smell when you’re in the dentist’s chair, spot on.

  8. Daniipntr

Tested with two sprays on skin. It’s the classic Red Edition with slightly better longevity but zero projection. Best suited for cold weather.

Compared side-by-side with Red Temptation Elixir, they seem extremely similar, if not identical… and I’d say this one has slightly lower longevity and projection than the Elixir.

  10. For once, Zara delivers a long-lasting perfume, but it smells like Chernobyl.

For once Zara managed to create a long-lasting perfume, and it smells like Chernobyl.

  12. Very, very similar to the perfume that apparently made Fk a millionaire, Baccarat. Need to test them side-by-side to spot the differences. Longevity is decent.

After testing it, I’m sticking with the original; the scent is cleaner.

  14. MissPennyLane

Smells almost identical to MFK’s BR540 extrait. If you like Red Temptation, try this: it’s Zara’s closest approximation to the original. Undeniably good, with great longevity and projection for just 20 euros. Totally unisex.

I’m a fan of For Him Red Edition; it smells great, though it doesn’t last or project much, so it’s best for wearing at home. This one, however, turns me off and I won’t use it. It has almost spicy bitter notes that ruin it, like adding salt to coffee. It doesn’t smell like a hypervitaminated version; the notes are different. A definite no for me.

Outstanding longevity on skin, extremely outstanding. Pleasant sweet scent, unisex, that sometimes reminds me of burnt cotton candy and other times of red fruit desserts. I detect more mandarin than orange, with a slight bitter undertone. I like it for casual and relaxed occasions.

Outstanding longevity on the skin—truly exceptional. A pleasant sweet scent, unisex, that sometimes reminds me of burnt cotton candy and other times of berry desserts. I detect more tangerine than orange, with a slight bitter undertone. I like it for casual, relaxed occasions.

Not much to say here; another BR540-inspired scent with that same sweet, amber-vanilla vibe. To me, it reminds me slightly of Al Haramain’s Amber Oud Ruby once it’s dried down. Worth it for the price—it’s good, but it stays close to the skin for a long time. No projection; it’s an intimate, playful fragrance.

Bacarat with good longevity. If you like Bacarat, don’t spend money on the original—grab this instead. For those who don’t know what it smells like: it’s like burnt cotton candy with some red fruit. Unisex, slightly feminine. Doesn’t project too much but lasts well on the skin.

Not much to say, another BR540 inspiration that matches with that sweet, ambered, vanilla vibe. Personally, it reminds me slightly of Al Haramain’s Amber Oud Ruby (once it has dried down). Worth it for the price—it’s good, but it stays only on the skin for a long time. No projection; it’s an intimate and playful fragrance.
