I love it! My son and I found an empty bottle, and when we smelled it, we asked, ‘What? Cloud? What kind of cloud is this?’ We went to get it, but as soon as we walked out, it didn’t smell the same. I got frustrated, but since we knew the issue was the empty bottle, we waited patiently (just a few minutes). The fragrance sweetens spectacularly; it’s woody and vanilla, ‘spectacular’ haha! It projects well; when he wears it, I breathe in all that scent like an addict. I looked for the Red Temptation for myself, but it’s not the same—not because it’s the female and male version, but because the quality feels different. The prominence of that ‘cloud’ note blend (amber-ambroxan? wood? evernyl? everyone says something different, but they know what I mean) is much stronger in the Red for Him to the point where I’m thinking of wearing it myself. After all, it’s a bit unisex, or maybe not so much, and I want to convince myself to use it. Usually, I go for sweet, hyper-feminine perfumes (I’m a practical woman 😘), but this beauty is violently introducing me to the unisex world. To the guys who comment that they can’t smell it, I confirm: it’s olfactory fatigue; everyone else definitely notices it.

It happens to me just like it does for user Oscar22; I barely smell it on myself… I’ll let it ‘macerate’ for a while to see what happens.

With Zara For Him Red Edition, there are no gray areas: either it blows your head with how rich it is, or it teleports you to the dentist’s chair. For my nose, this is a mysterious genius. It’s burnt cotton candy with a spice that reminds me of cloves (evernyl must be doing its thing). It’s sweet, but dark and strangely addictive. It’s not an overused scent, although it’s starting to be noticed more on the street, and it has that ‘I don’t know what’ that makes you smell different. Now, the other side of the coin. I’ve heard everything: ‘smells like a hospital,’ ‘like latex gloves,’ ‘like a medical office.’ And yes, I can understand where it comes from. It has a mineral and aseptic note that, if your brain processes it poorly, ruins the experience. It’s totally unisex, so it’s not for someone looking for a traditional ‘man’s’ perfume. Performance: For a Zara, it holds up very well. It lasts about 6 or 7 hours comfortably. It projects noticeably without being a beast, for about an hour and a half, maybe two. It’s one of those perfumes that if someone likes it, they’ll come up to ask what it is. And if they don’t like it… well, they’ll also make themselves noticed by saying ‘who has that weird smell?’ Conclusion: It’s controversial, it’s divisive, but I love it. It’s a gamble. If it works for you, you have a unique and addictive scent for two bucks. If not, you’ll smell like your next dental cleaning. Don’t buy it blindly. Test it on your skin and let the people around you give their verdict. You either love it or hate it. I’m on the side of those who love it.

Tested with two sprays on skin. It’s a very sweet, unisex scent that slightly reminds of burnt cotton candy. The bottle color does justice to what it feels like when you smell it. A very common scent already, but still original and pleasant to wear. For 20€, it’s a good purchase as a winter and autumn perfume.

In my opinion, it reminds me more of Pdm Kalan than Bkr540; it’s a very rich perfume with a very marked blood orange and a cotton-candy-type sweetness, but I sense moss in it. It’s more of a Kalan than a Bkr540.
FabCa
In my opinion, it’s one of the best Zara perfumes. I recommend it if you like fougère-style scents, sweet and cloying ones. It has a scent clearly marked by sweet amber, which, combined with the rest of the notes, gives the sensation of smelling burnt cotton candy. Watch out for the number of sprays, because during the first thirty minutes the scent is quite intense. Then it drops a bit, but it continues to project similarly to how it does upon application. Seven-hour duration, with the respective one-and-a-half-hour projection.

A perfume I got purely by chance of having it on a good deal and having it as a reference for the BR540 scent. It’s not one of my favorite scents, but I’m very drawn to the strange effect of how it acts as a second skin, emitting very subtle bursts throughout about 6 hours, while having a minimal trail from the first spray. I understand this is common in this DNA, at least in some other dupes.

Hahaha, a total clone of Baccarat Rouge at a LOW COST… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

It’s a very sweet perfume with great longevity. The smell I personally love it; it’s my favorite Zara perfume; it’s like smelling burnt cotton candy or something similar. I recommend it for colder climates or at least when it’s not too hot. Highly recommended, especially for its price; in Argentina it’s approximately 55 dollars.

I don’t see much personality in it; it smells like burnt cotton candy and is weird. It fatigues the nose quickly; sometimes I can’t even smell it (more than three people confirmed this). The scent is rich, a bit more masculine but totally unisex. I didn’t expect good longevity, and it lasted me 8 hours. Now I don’t get the projection: it doesn’t reach far, and being a sweet scent, it should draw attention, but it doesn’t stand out. Good smell, good performance, bad projection.
Blue8898
I love it; it’s very unisex and the burnt sugar scent (to me, it smells like strawberry) fascinates me. Plus, it lasts a long time on skin. The projection isn’t bad in my case, and the price is unbeatable. My sister says it reminds her a lot of Ariana Grande’s and she likes it too. If Baccarat Rouge smells like this (more and better), I’ll have to spend the cash and get it.
crist18n
Very rich and sweet smell. The projection is a bit low; it’s noticeable for the first hour but then drops significantly. On skin, it lasts about 6-8 hours.

To me, it smells like burnt cherry, and that’s great. It smells good, unisex, if anything more towards men. I liked it.
KrizCrocs
This literally smells like burnt cotton candy, with no greater complexity or evolution, and that’s good because that’s what you’re looking for. As for longevity: moisturize and wash your neck well in the shower, because any perfume lasts well that way, unless you just spray it once.
ultimaimpresiondeparfumde
I had this perfume; I liked its smell despite it being quite unisex. Moderate longevity, about 3 hours, normal sillage. It’s better to use it at night or in the cold, so its citrus note doesn’t fool you.
Maurilloo
I had the chance to try it, and personally I think it’s very sugary, but what stands out most is that Evernil dust smell; I think it’s too much. On the other hand, it’s completely unisex. I give it a 6/10 just because it’s not my style. What I can say is that after 5 hours of wearing it, I washed my arm twice and it still smelled.

Wearing Red for Him by Zara is like putting on a jacket that’s not quite your style, but suddenly everyone tells you it looks incredible. It doesn’t make you feel ‘super macho’ or think ‘I’m the king of the world.’ In fact, it has a sweet touch I feel is more unisex than masculine. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t give you that sense of virile power that many seek. In the end, what matters is what happens outside your head. This perfume has a superpower you don’t even understand: it attracts glances and questions. Suddenly, you find girls sniffing your neck as if you were a limited-time offer, asking themselves ‘What are you wearing?’. And the best part: you don’t have to move a finger. You just smell good and start generating a small chaos. The secret is the scent. If you’re looking to feel like ‘the man’, it’s not for you. But if you want girls of all ages to come closer, ask what you’re wearing, and steal a smile, this is your trick. And if you didn’t know, even that professor who seems to teach from the dinosaur era will ask what perfume you use. Who am I to judge? I just know what works.

I bought it for my boyfriend, but at home, to see how it smelled, I put it on my wrists, and honestly, I don’t understand why they say it’s masculine and 0% unisex; on me, it smells like cotton candy or like a burnt marshmallow, delicious. Even my partner said he liked how it smelled when I wore it. If you’re women who like this type of scent, give it a chance by trying it in the store and waiting to see how it suits you, but for me, it’s a resounding yes. As for longevity, it’s a bit strange: I put it on and maybe an hour later I can’t smell it, but suddenly after a while the scent hits me, as if it feels sporadic.
Josué González Céspedes
Totally masculine, yes, it says ‘for him’ so there’s nothing to be done about it. Smells super manly, nothing unisex and definitely not feminine. Let’s hope they respect that.
Leonardo-Ramirez
It’s the DNA of Baccarat but has a bitter note that sometimes releases, and in my opinion, that’s what makes it masculine, although it takes it away at times. Sometimes it smells 100% sweet like Baccarat, but sometimes it releases that very bitter orange note, which isn’t bad but I don’t think it’s a masterpiece either. 8/10.
William Thacker
You’ve smelled this DNA before; it’s just another copy of Baccarat Rouge 540. Its trail is intimate but long-lasting, and it doesn’t project beyond the initial blast. The issue is how common the scent has become. You step out and there isn’t a single woman with a similar aroma. This happened to me and made me quit it. People always ask if I’m wearing Cloud by Ariana Grande, a perfume half the girls in Santiago use. Even though it’s feminine, I recommend it only for home; if you go out, you blend in with the sea of girls wearing it. 4/10.

An alternative to the ultra-massified, hyper-unisex ‘casino-named’ scent, another one of thousands that smell the same—burnt cotton candy; however, Zara has a plus: that base note that emulates oakmoss, giving it a subtle masculine touch (something most don’t have), moderating the cloying citrus-amber effect with a caramelized finish. Longevity is above average for the brand. Hats off to Zara.

I love it. I think someone already said it, but it’s one of those fragrances you just want to wear for personal enjoyment. In winter, at least, it’s a scent that welcomes you, embraces you, and for me, it’s not cloying. As for performance, it’s good for Zara, but like all of them, it requires reapplication. It performs much better on clothes than on skin.
Ignacio Bravo
A bomb in every sense. More than orange, it’s strawberry-style cotton candy. Lots of amber and a dark base that acts as support. Lasts forever on clothes and elusive on skin; it appears when it wants to, without warning, for long twelve-hour stretches. A perfume for a lifetime.
TimCors
A beautiful surprise, this Zara bomb. I haven’t smelled BR540, but there’s no need to do so to enjoy it. The burnt sugar or snowflake sensation is real. It’s one of those perfumes you wear for yourself. I haven’t fully tested the performance yet. I applied it at 2 PM and it’s still present at 10 PM, in a very personal bubble, but it does make itself felt. I imagine it has performance similar to Zara London.
Zenof
It feels invasive and unpleasant until I can’t take it anymore; you only smell burnt sugar at first, so strong that olfactory fatigue makes you stop noticing it. The orange… can anyone explain why it smells like this? I don’t get the hype around Red Temptation, and it’s definitely not unisex; to me, it seems very feminine. I bought it and gifted it to my sister after a short while. From a burnt sugar explosion that lasts seconds to a linear chemical smell until it dies, I absolutely do not recommend it. Unfortunately, the longevity is good and the projection is very strong.

This was my first blind buy and I have no regrets. Months ago I was looking for affordable fragrances for casual wear and work. I already knew the Red Edition was the best-reviewed ‘for him’ from Zara; I went to the store to test and buy, but they didn’t have it for testing. I asked at the counter, and they said they had it but not for testing. I bought it blind and upon testing, I found orange peel followed by that cotton candy from other reviews. It was love at first sniff (just like with Halloween Man X, though they’re different). It has a non-chocing, heavy, or alcoholic opening; it’s strong but not annoying, then evolves very fluidly and maintains the sweet aroma for a long time, blending with the amber. Maybe it’s not the one with the best longevity or projection (normal performance), but it lasts longer than other Zara scents. And while it lasts, it’s enjoyable (unfortunately, I get olfactory fatigue, so after a while I only catch short bursts). Usage: makes a better impression at night in cool to cold climates (5°C – 15°C); I don’t find it cloying or out of place during the day in the cold; it projects a pleasant warmth to both the wearer and those around them.

The center of Madrid smells like this because of the huge number of people wearing it. I went to spend a weekend and was blown away because I smelled it a dozen times in every place. So massified that I won’t even wear it or gift it.

Honestly, I don’t know if there’s a bad batch, because I’ve read several reviews saying the same thing, and for me, this perfume doesn’t smell right. It’s not that it has a bad or complex smell; it just seems poorly finished, cheap. It smells like dusty medication someone found in a pharmacy from the civil war, buried under a mortar shell and rubble.
