Penhaligon’s grew out of Victorian London around William Penhaligon, a barber from Cornwall. In 1872 he created Hammam Bouquet, inspired by the Turkish baths beside his shop. The house received a Royal Warrant from Queen Alexandra and retains this link with British perfumery.
Today the collections bring historic perfumes together with new lines. Hammam Bouquet keeps the brand’s origin in view, while The Tragedy of Lord George belongs to Portraits, a series built around fictional characters. Product pages separate eau de parfum, eau de toilette, and editions, while glass bottles and bows keep the recognizable presentation.
