Descripción
Vibrant Leather Elixir by Zara is a leather fragrance for men. Launched in 2025, this creation is a new addition to the collection. Its olfactory pyramid opens with bergamot and lemon in the top notes, accented by a zesty lime touch for an immediate freshness. The heart reveals leather, establishing the fragrance's core identity. Finally, the base combines Egyptian papyrus and patchouli, closing the structure with a distinctive earthy elegance.

A good product in itself, but a disappointment due to its name and hype. Don’t get fooled by the notes: here, leather doesn’t dominate. If you wanted a Vibrant Leather with leather, that was the Extreme. This is just a VL that’s more citrusy on the opening and has extra longevity. It improves performance, but it’s not a beast as you might think. To be honest, the VB Elixir line was one of the most disappointing of this year, especially because they sell them at higher prices and due to the hype of the name. Unfortunately, it’s just a marketing play; nowadays any perfume has ‘Elixir’ on the box as an excuse to charge more. A more accurate name would have been ‘Intense’.
I’ve read many negative reviews, but on my skin it actually works. It’s not a bomb, so I understand the disappointed ones, but it lasts about 5 to 6 hours. It feels more potent than the original and I really like it. Best to try it before buying to see how it performs on your skin.
I was sitting on a bench in downtown Santiago and at the other end sat a man in his 50s with an exquisite trail. I loved his perfume; I couldn’t resist my curiosity and asked what he was wearing; he pulled this fragrance out of his backpack. I loved it, it’s super masculine, and it reminded me of another old perfume, but I don’t know which one. Definitely going to gift it.
Despite the negative reviews, on my skin it works quite well. It’s not a beast, so I partially agree with the disappointed ones, but it lasts about 5-6 hours. It’s more potent than the original and yes, I like it quite a bit. Given what’s happened, it’s essential to test before buying to verify performance on your own skin.
I tested it two or three weeks ago at 15 degrees: basically the same as the original Vibrant Leather, perhaps a touch more herbal on the dry down and an extra hour of longevity. Today I tested it again at 22 degrees with 60% humidity, and I was surprised by how disastrous the performance was: with the slightest sweat, it shuts down, as if its oxidation accelerates. The initial sparkling phase lasted 15 minutes and then dropped to the skin, losing the herbal tone quickly. In less than an hour, you have to reapply, and after an hour, it’s almost imperceptible. A total performance disaster. For that, buy Yodeyma Active Man, which projects more than the original and costs less than the Elixir.
Much better performance than the regular version. Worth using this edition.
I sprayed it twice on my skin. It’s the classic Vibrant Leather with a sharp, almost metallic citrus boost. That’s the only difference I notice. Perfect for everyday wear and great for hot weather.
It leans more towards Hacivat than Aventus. It performs better than the original, though it’s not a miracle. I get 4 hours of personal bubble with about half an hour of trail from arm’s length; close to the skin, it can last another couple of hours. I think €5 less is its fair price for what it offers.
Tested with two sprays on skin. It’s the classic Vibrant Leather with an extra punch of citrus, almost metallic. That’s the only difference I notice. Ideal for daily wear and perfect for warm climates.
Almost identical to the original VL, though here you can detect a touch of ambroxan that gives it a dirty nuance, much less aggressive than Arab Aventus clones. It’s a classic, exquisite scent that doesn’t need description. The interesting part is that there’s now a 150ml version. I bought the 100ml and the traditional 150ml at the same price to compare; on the skin, this one projects stronger and lasts an hour longer. Although its performance is poor and some people don’t like having to reapply, I approve of it. But I still prefer the original VL: it’s more vibrant, sparkling, and clean. These are subtle nuances, but once you know them, they stand out. In the end, it’s not all about duration, trail, or maximum projection.
Very good trail. It’s the Vibrant Leather flanker with patchouli. Simple, sweet, leather. Good for a signature fragrance, bordering on generic, but it has a very nice aroma. It has that intensity of the concentrated pineapple-leather accord, not so citrusy. I liked the longevity more than the original, though it’s not as fresh; it’s more versatile and has a moderate trail.
I’ll keep it simple: excellent woody citrus, very, very similar to Creed Aventus. It always performs above 8 hours; people notice this perfume, and the projection is very good. People who don’t ask me for my opinion have told me: “you smell like a man” (haha). A simple fragrance but very fulfilling. In terms of woody citrus, it’s among the best in my opinion regarding quality and price. A super versatile fragrance for warm climates. 100% recommended.
It’s exactly as defined: the same Vibrant Leather of old with an ultra-citrus opening. To my taste, it’s cloying and insidious, as it brings back memories of the Cruz Verde mosquito repellent. The longevity is excellent, and if you don’t dislike that wild opening, it’s a perfect option for those who don’t get along well with the original. I still stick with the pillar of the line, which I have no longevity or sillage issues with. Of the flankers, I only find Summer Breeze interesting, just like the discontinued Summer from 2020.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the same thing but with all its notes amplified. Let me explain: the VL EDP version is more contained; here we find exactly the same thing but turned up a notch in every aspect. It’s obviously sweeter because that “fruity” sensation is more potent. The dry down is where I find a slight, almost imperceptible change: the citrus buzzes harder throughout the life of the perfume, whereas the other EDP softened quite a bit, revealing a slight, soft leather. If I had to choose between this and the classic, I’d choose the Elixir. On my skin, it lasts perfectly for 6 hours, reaching 8 sometimes (depending on the weather). I should note that I have oily skin, which in my case helps it last a bit longer. Some people say it lasts 6 hours, but for the price, it’s a beast. This definitely (even if not declared in its notes) contains ambroxan.
Honestly, all I smell is metal; every time my dad wears it, smelling it is not a good experience.
For a fragrance named “Elixir,” I expected something more. It’s not a bad fragrance, so don’t worry, and I think it will suit and please most people, especially as a blind buy. It’s a shower gel-type scent, refreshing, with hints of Creed Aventus in the dry down (refreshing pineapple), masculine, but there are many inspirations at this price that are worth trying. Tested in heat, it lasts 6-7 hours with medium projection.
I know Creed Aventus, and yes, they share a similar DNA. I liked this perfume for daily wear. Recently, I wore it to an outdoor dinner and could feel the bursts of its scent; it projected quite well for two and a half hours and then settled on the skin until the 10-hour mark. Just to clarify, it wasn’t a very hot day, more on the fresh side. It’s a simple, friendly, and easy-to-use fragrance for almost any situation. My wife liked it. I’ve only worn it twice, and compliments haven’t started yet, but I think they will eventually, as it’s a pleasant but extremely well-known scent.
I absolutely loved this perfume; the EDP version is very similar, almost identical, and I like it a lot. With this one, despite having similar projection and longevity, it feels slightly stronger in both aspects and has more body overall. The Aventus DNA is one of my favorites in perfumery, and this is too similar; I love it.
Hello, I picked this up for 19.90€ for 100ml, and out of the entire Vibrant Leather line, this is my absolute favorite; if I had to choose just one, it would be this one. The versions with oud sound great on paper, but they just don’t work on my skin, so I can’t compare them fairly. Within the range, this seems like the best choice as a signature scent: it works all year round, with less application in the summer and more sprays at night in winter without any issues. It’s not overpowering; the citrus accord is very noticeable with a very subtle leather base, which is really pleasant. If you compare it to the Club de Nuit line (which many will do), this is less synthetic and less loud; the Zara version, at least this one, follows a more elegant line. On dry skin, it lasts about 4.5 hours max, and double that on clothes. For reference: the regular Vibrant Leather barely lasts 2 hours (very bad in my case), and the Extreme lasts about 6, but it becomes too sharp and annoying. That said, calling a fragrance with modest longevity an “Elixir” still seems odd to me; one would expect higher concentration, but that’s not the case (and too many brands do this). Honestly, I would have called it Zara Vibrant Leather Office. Would I recommend it? Yes.
It’s a total flanker with more body than the classic VL. It has more woods with a subtle patchouli base. Maybe it doesn’t have the trail, projection, or longevity of the Club de Nuit beasts, but it feels less harsh synthetically. I don’t know which CDN it is, but there’s one out there that stands out with an extremely annoying synthetic component.
