Descripción
Valentino Donna Born In Roma Intense by Valentino is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2023, this composition was created by Amandine Clerc-Marie and Honorine Blanc. In its olfactive development, the top notes reveal bourbon vanilla and amber; the floral heart is anchored by jasmine; and the woody, balsamic base completes the pyramid with benzoin.

So delicious, I love it, and it doesn’t smell like anything else in the Valentino line. The jasmine is sweet thanks to the vanilla but not cloying. Its trail and longevity are top-notch; I’m obsessed.
Intoxicating! Smells like quality liquor. I love the amber and vanilla blend in Donna Born in Roma Intense. It’s a much more interesting fragrance than things like Mugler’s Angel Elixir, which have nothing to do with how this smells.
My go-to scent is always Born in Roma, so I wanted to try the Intense knowing I’d love it. And I did: it smells deeper and more mature than the original, sexier and perfect for evening wear. Both share the same soul, which I associate with a warm, sweet pastry just out of the oven.
I was dying to try this. Valentino Donna Born in Roma, the original, is mainstream but one of my favorites: flirty, playful, sparkling, and super sweet. Here, I find a more mature, dark, and sexy version, of course, with more intensity. It remains fruity, fun, and informal, but warmer, denser, and more nocturnal. In my opinion, that classic jasmine blended with fruity notes makes it ideal for summer nights. On my skin, it lasts about 8 hours with brutal projection. In short, a rich aroma with great performance that won’t go unnoticed. I’m not rushing to buy it, but I wouldn’t rule out getting a bottle now that I’ve finished the first one.
A relative gave it to me as a sample, and the moment I wore it, people at the office recognized it immediately. They said it smells like a freshly baked cookie. Heads up, it’s strong—I sneezed right after applying it. For me, Valentinos have that luxury quality.
Love at first whiff, exquisite fragrance not suitable for those sensitive to sweetness. My nose detects a caramel or cotton candy note. Applied it yesterday and wow, on my skin it has over 12 hours of longevity. I’ll try it in spring/summer with more heat, though I feel it’s more suited for fall/winter.
Love at first sniff, exquisite scent but be careful if you’re sensitive to sweetness—my nose detects something that isn’t caramel or cotton candy. Tried it yesterday and wow! It lasts over 12 hours on my skin and is still going strong. I’ll test it in spring/summer with more heat, but right now it feels more suited for fall/winter.
I prefer the original fragrance. This one doesn’t have anything that makes you want to smell it all day, and it has less longevity and sillage. Note: If the original Donna Born in Roma seems too sweet to you, this could be your option.
I love it; it’s the sexiest, most elegant, and night-time fragrance I know 😍. You can really smell the jasmine, vanilla, and benzoin; it’s sweet but nothing childish or synthetic, quite the opposite. Extreme longevity (+12h).
I loved it; the drydown is delicious. Once I read the notes for Alien, I imagined a scent for that combination, and when I finally tried it, it was nothing like what I expected. Well, this Born in Roma Intense is very similar to what I thought Alien would be… It’s like a dream come true. I can’t stop smelling it; it’s addictive.
What an exquisite and sensual perfume… I’ve tried the classic Donna Born in Roma several times in stores and it smells generic to me, like a teen perfume, even reminding me of Vie Est Belle, which is a million times better. But this Intense version fascinates me; it’s very gourmand, dense, and sweet. No note screams at my nose. It’s not a sillage monster because it doesn’t need to be, but you feel it and others feel it; it projects quite a bit. Head over heels 😍. If you like vanilla, it’s a must-have.
I opened it as a Christmas gift and can’t stop smelling it. I’m addicted to this vanilla that, combined with benzoin, is a perfect blend. If you don’t like sweet fragrances, you probably won’t like this one.
As the name suggests, it’s the intense version of the EDP. It has a coconut aroma that isn’t listed, perhaps due to the combination of notes it does have, and it lingers from start to finish. It’s sweeter than the EDP, but I feel the original lasts longer and projects more. If you love super sweet scents, choose this; if you prefer sweets with a floral touch, go for the EDP. Either way, you’ll smell incredible.
Opened it as a Christmas gift and can’t stop smelling it. I’m addicted to this vanilla with benzoin blend—a perfect mix. If you don’t like sweet fragrances, you probably won’t like this one either.
It smells sweeter to me than the classic Donna Born in Roma. With the first one, you can wear it all year round; this one gets heavy. I’d recommend it for days that aren’t too hot.
Am I the only one who doesn’t vibe with it? I bought it blindly after trying the classic and reading great reviews, thinking I’d adore it… nope. I’ll stick with the original a thousand times over. The opening is way too ‘acidic’ for my nose. It’s not citrus acid; it’s something off, almost rancid. Some compare it to cat pee… I’m not saying it smells like that, but that’s the vibe. The benzoin is very present and ‘eats’ the whole fragrance. The drydown is more pleasant, but I just can’t handle the opening. Those first minutes feel like eternity. That’s why it’s not in my collection anymore.
Omg, this is one of the best I’ve ever tried. I don’t know how the OG smells, but this has something captivating, even if it’s not there immediately. At first, it was just a pleasant scent, nothing crazy, but over time it became more enveloping. I can still smell it in my hair a week later. I want it and I’m buying it.
Can’t wait to restock. That vanilla is so rich and warm. Seriously, no coconut in there? I love it 🤩
I need a refill already. What a delicious, warm vanilla. Honestly, this doesn’t have coconut in it??? I love it 🤩
Personally, I didn’t like it. I love the original, but I couldn’t handle the Intense, so I sold it new. Yes, it’s sweeter, but it loses the special characteristics of the original: that ironed or shower-like scent is gone. Instead, jasmine takes the lead, sharp with aggressive benjuí and syrup, nothing of the original silk. It’s like a dark, spiced amber, almost burnt, reminding me of palo santo. It’s not a bad perfume, it’s powerful and intense, but it’s a different vibe and becomes more generic, lacking much personality other than being intense.
What a delight! I’m surprised, I’ve never been captivated by a perfume this sweet before. It becomes addictive over time.
Intoxicating aroma, strong and with a wide sillage—zero recommendation if you don’t like heavy, extra-sweet fragrances. The dry-down smells like sweet jasmine with a slightly earthy touch. I love it for fresh days or night outings. Very rich, but I don’t recommend buying it blindly.
Intoxicating, strong aroma with wide sillage. Not recommended at all if you don’t like heavy and extra-sweet fragrances. The trail smells like sweet and earthy jasmine. I love it for fresh days or night outings. Very delicious, but don’t buy blindly.
I tested it on a blotter that looked soaked; that’s not a good idea because it smells all at once and it’s strange. Sometimes it’s sweet, sparkling, and sophisticated, and other times… it smells like pee.
Smells rich, but I think it won’t last long on my skin.
Super mega delicious. Wish they never take it off the market. Intoxicating and sweet. Creamy vanilla, beautiful jasmine, with great sillage and longevity. Sometimes I let it sit and when I come back to it, I think I don’t need my other perfumes anymore.
VBIR Parfum is sweeter, fruity, and romantic; it’s my signature scent. VBIR Intense is more of a winter fragrance: starts with vanilla, then amber makes it resinous, but by the end it mellows out a lot. We’ll see how it evolves. It sounds similar to Givenchy’s L’Interdit Absolute.
Exquisite perfume. I love it: it’s amber and resinous with vanilla and jasmine, a super refined and sweet scent that smells expensive. It has a musky or talc-like base that makes it less invasive than L’Interdit. Excellent longevity, heavy sillage but not annoying. I wear it only at night or dusk. It reminds me of L’Interdit Intense in terms of presence: refined, nocturnal, dark, but with feminine notes. It also evokes Mugler’s Angel Elixir but is sweeter.
😔 Didn’t work for me, glad I ordered a decant.
What a delight! Deep, dark vanilla, absolutely delicious. I compared it to the Extrait, but I actually prefer this synthetic version. Short longevity, but since it’s half the price, I reapply without mercy and that solves everything. Another gem for my collection.
I smell a blackcurrant or strawberry fruit, amber, spicy, and vanilla. It’s warm, resinous, and one I’d dare to wear if it’s cold. It’s a bit sweet due to the vanilla, but the resinous and spicy notes make me like that the vanilla is there. It smells great; it’s not cloying to me. It’s dark for me; it lacks the guaiac wood that the regular version has, and it would be perfect paired with benzoin. Anyway, the original with benzoin and its little green touch, or this one with guaiac wood.
It’s like layering La Belle and Alien. It’s a very gift-worthy perfume. Generally, people like it a lot. Personally, I prefer more realistic jasmine scents, with a green touch and fresher vibes.
So, does it smell like cat pee in the opening? Maybe. Does someone compliment it on me even 10 hours after I wear it? Also yes. Does it make up for it? Absolutely. After a few minutes, that ‘pee-like’ note disappears, at least in my nose.
I’ve smelled it several times and perceive a smell like overripe or half-rotten fruit.
I’d love to have a cat whose pee smells like this beautiful perfume. I can smell it for about 12 hours, and I’m complimented on it constantly. It lasts for days on hair and clothes.
This perfume is an ambered white floral that matches my style perfectly on paper. On my skin, I notice a fresh opening that quickly darkens into a warm dry down. Still, the perfume stays too discreet on my skin. The scent fades very fast, and I stop smelling it before the hour is up. Although it’s a pleasant fragrance, I prefer scents with more presence and evolution on my skin.
I smell it as sweet and floral, reminding me a lot of two perfumes: Lou Lou by Cacharel and Scandal Absolu, due to the coconut and sweetness. Very delicious. Its longevity on clothes lasts until wash day, and the sillage is moderate. I’m still testing it; I know that in a month or two, once opened, the sillage and longevity will improve.
The opening is super fruity, like blackcurrant and apple. Then it dries down into a very fresh vanilla with jasmine. The dry down leaves a candy cane sugar note that isn’t my favorite. I wouldn’t buy it, but if I smelled it on someone else, I wouldn’t dislike it at all. My favorite flanker (which is less syrupy) is Green Stravaganza.
Well, I fear I’ll be unpopular with my comment, but to me, it smells like aftershave lotion. For me, it’s a hard no.
I loved the original Born in Roma, but it was getting a bit stale, so I decided to try this. Just to clarify, even though they’re related, they’re two completely different worlds. This smells super ambered, resinous, and has a fruity, boozy touch not listed on the notes. I’m obsessed; it tastes rich and juicy, almost making me want to eat the person wearing it. The downside is the performance is terrible—worse than any other in my collection. It lasts an hour on my skin with zero sillage; after two minutes, it’s just skin scent. I’ve shoved it to the back of my closet hoping it improves with age, but its sad longevity disappoints me because I love the fragrance itself, and the original BIR had amazing performance.
