At first, it smells like juicy pear, as if in syrup, then a dirty jasmine with sandalwood emerges, giving a summer creaminess with that sweet vanilla that’s always present.
This perfume is almost impossible to find anymore. I rescued it after not using it for a while, and it smells amazing. Vanilla, sandalwood, and that ylang-ylang creaminess… It projects a ton (even though my bottle has been open for two years). When I finish the bottle (the liquid turned wine-colored 🙄), I don’t think I’ll be desperate to buy another. I prefer Born in Roma Intense; while it’s not the same, it’s in the same style.
I tried it today; the salesperson splashed a lot on my arm. It’s an interesting scent, but not that much. Barely noticeable after an hour, and by three o’clock, it was just skin scent. For a $237 (50 ml) perfume in Argentina, you’d expect it to last at least six hours.
I found a 100 ml bottle at a good price, and since they no longer even have testers in perfumeries, I had to take it. It doesn’t smell exactly like Angel OG, but honestly, all Angel perfumes with patchouli end up smelling similar over time; having Fantasm makes me satisfied. I love it; it reminds me of an improved version of This Is Her, which lasts me five minutes on me 😅🤭. The Elixir is more mature, less sweet, and more elegant, and you can tell it’s higher quality. Sorry to the TIH lovers, but it doesn’t have great longevity on some people (the men’s version is the same), plus it has a horrible bottle in my opinion. Angel Elixir has a ‘Mugler’ opening, rare and interesting; it must be that brand pepper that smells different but incredible ❤️. Then comes the jasmine, dominating for five minutes. Soon, vanilla and sandalwood kick in and last for hours—a sophisticated vanilla and a sandalwood that sometimes seems even salty. It lasts between six and seven hours and projects well, even with the new bottle. It’s for all seasons except summer. I own Donna Born in Roma Intense, and they’re not alike: in Valentino, jasmine and benzoin (a bit indolic) dominate, while in Elixir, it’s sandalwood and vanilla. Angel by Mugler has always been controversial, so Elixir succeeded: being hated by some and loved by others. Anyway, I could not be happier with my purchase ❤️🥰.
At first, I only sense that vanilla accord with a hint of Play-Doh, but as it dries down, the white floral accord starts to show without the vanilla losing its lead. Finally, it settles into a woody vanilla accord with a salty touch, which is my favorite phase and the one that lasts the longest. It has moderate projection but good longevity, over ten hours. The best part is the bottle. Like all recent Angel flankers I’ve tried, this doesn’t resemble the original; it seems like a generic, feminine, winter vanilla perfume that, despite being wearable and probably not offending anyone, doesn’t bring anything new. Pleasant: 5/10 Interesting: 5/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 3/10
The scent is divine, but the quality is a disaster. In Argentina, as of December 2025, it costs 350,000 and lasts barely three hours on the skin; it vanishes as soon as you put it on, and to get any projection, you have to spray six or more times. Although the fragrance is beautiful, I feel it’s not worth it because, with all I spend on fixes, I’d prefer something cheaper. I feel frustrated because I bought it hoping for longevity and projection. As for the aroma, I love it; it’s stunning and totally different from classic Angel.
As they say, ‘comparisons are odious,’ and comparing it to traditional Angel doesn’t make much sense since this is a flanker that has nothing to do with the original. I think for those who wear Angel, it might seem very far away, which doesn’t mean it smells bad. It seems very lactonic and creamy. Vanilla and sandalwood dominate, jasmine is present delicately, like a hug; although it’s not listed, I sense something juicy like pear or blackberry and a touch of honey. It’s gourmand. It reminds me of other perfumes, so it’s not novel; if you’re looking for something groundbreaking, this isn’t for you, but if you want something pretty, this is it. I use it for everything, even daily. Recommended for over 20s and all seasons. Longevity is where it fails: it lasts four hours and then sticks to the skin. For the price, there are better options. Design: 10/10, Scent: 7/10, Longevity: 4/10 (very weak). It reminds me of Dior Addict, which is a bomb, and this lacks power; it’s brighter (for daytime) and has something of Black Opium. I say they remind me, not that they’re the same. It’s creamy, with well-mixed vanilla and sandalwood, a pleasant experience. THE BEST: it’s very wearable and easy to carry. THE WORST: it gives the sensation of having smelled it before; it doesn’t break new ground or innovate, and its short longevity (about 4-5 hours).
This Angel is more wearable than the previous one, though it’s not my favorite. It has some of the first one’s DNA but is more bearable, although in the end, it still leaves a slightly dirty note, just less annoying. I was angry and distressed when I ordered it without trying it, my own fault, so I no longer trust reviews; perfumes are very personal. Conclusion: this is better made than the regular one. If it happens to you like it did to me and you don’t like the previous one, try this; you’ll see it has something different. The notes… I didn’t notice the vanilla or orange blossom, but I did notice the others.
A compact, balanced amalgamation of distinct notes that give solidity to the whole. The fragrance isn’t very similar to Angel. ‘Angel Elixir’ envelops but with less intensity than the original. Pink pepper and jasmine notes dance with sandalwood, creating a sweet and floral aroma that is at once fresh and sensual. Longevity is moderate, but the trail is soft and persistent. It’s more bearable than the traditional one, which is a bomb, especially in the early formulations. I think I’ll buy it since I tried Arab perfumes and they didn’t convince me, at least the ones available in Argentina. If you recommend a good one, I’ll be grateful 🫶
It’s quite weird. I left the blotter in a drawer since Sunday, and today, when I opened it, it emitted a strong cinnamon smell.
Angel Elixir hit me out of the blue; that pink pepper opening has me hooked. Then comes the jasmine, ylang, and that orange blossom I absolutely love, closing with soft sandalwood and rich vanilla. Wow, it made me fall in love more than my Valentino Born In Roma. The longevity is insane: you don’t smell it projecting much, but it’s stuck to your skin, and I could still smell it the next day. Smells delicious and tasty, already ordered my refill.
To be honest: the name has nothing to do with the original, which is unnecessary. Weak sillage? Yes, that’s not its strong suit, but it lasts forever on skin. It’s a very well-executed floral vanilla, though at Mugler it should feel intergalactic. The opening is lovely with that fluorescent pink pepper typical of them, followed by sandalwood and ylang that blend perfectly. The jasmine stays constant with a gorgeous dark vanilla. It gave me a deja vu with Black Opium Le Parfum, and I’m already addicted. If you want something powerful, go for Born In Roma because they’re similar, or Black Opium Le Parfum which is darker and has coffee (ask for early batches). If you like pink pepper and sandalwood, stick with this. I love it, it’s gorgeous, and it comes in the beautiful Angel bottle.
Excellent perfume, very versatile and classic, but it feels distinct, much more elegant and interesting with spectacular longevity. On my skin, it projects for 5 hours, sits close for 2, and lasts another 3 hours on the skin. It has rich, elegant vanilla, a fine jasmine that stands out against other Mugler synthetics, accompanied by sandalwood that elevates everything. The pepper at the end adds a refined touch; on my skin, it’s incredible. I love it, I was gifted a mini, and when it runs out, I’ll buy the full size.
I love it. It’s a perfume I’ve always wanted. Angel Elixir is different from the original. I agree the name could have been better, but the scent is enchanting. It’s a vanilla and ambered jasmine. The ylang isn’t too noticeable or tropical. To me, it’s elegant and delicious. After months, it has incredible power and lasts all day. The only sad thing is it wasn’t well-received and is hard to find now. If you know of a similar one, let me know.
Angel Elixir smells great and is different, nothing like the conventional version. The jasmine stands out with the creamy sandalwood, amber, and sweet vanilla. The blend reminds me of coconut candy, but if I focus, I notice jasmine, ylang, sandalwood, and amber. Incredible power and richness.

I only tried this version and I like it; it’s quite powerful and has good sillage, it gets compliments easily. The powdery sweet vanilla is very noticeable, it doesn’t overwhelm but it’s a great option for going out and getting noticed.
It’s very similar to the CH classic and has a Black Opium vibe. I’m not sure exactly how they differ. It’s sweet for fall and winter and bears no resemblance to Angel at all. I didn’t try the Valentino, but it’s just another perfume, and for the price, I’ll buy cheaper alternatives.
I tried this the other day, I liked it but didn’t love it. It seemed super sweet; the strongest notes were sandalwood and vanilla. I found it very pretty and like it more than the original Angel; it feels super nocturnal and wintry. For now, I wouldn’t buy it. It reminds me of CH 212 VIP, but I prefer the CH one because it’s a sweet liqueur scent and has a better price.
Mugler Angel Elixir, although not one of my favorites in the family, is a very interesting floral, amber, and woody fragrance that offers a new perspective on the house. Even though I feel it lacks some of the originality and identity they usually bring to their launches, it can’t be denied that it’s quite attractive. Although it’s not the most innovative, Angel Elixir has its own charm and can be an excellent choice for those looking for something different within the Mugler range.
This gorgeous star is as far from the Angel as an angel can get: a lovely scent with ambered, sweet jasmine that on my skin smells just like Born in Roma Intense. The bottle is cute, but the liquid doesn’t convince me; I’ve been tempted to buy it just for the collection, but honestly, I doubt I’ll wear it. I think Mugler needs a new flagship and no more flankers for now.
How far it is from the classic Angel. This flanker even feels like a slight disrespect. Another commercial perfume, neither here nor there.
I was expecting something impactful and new, but it wasn’t: it’s a little sweet with woody and fruity notes, like so many others. Did I like it? Yes. Would I wear it? Yes. Would I buy it? No. It’s excessively expensive for a scent with zero originality and poor longevity (compared to Alien, for example).
It smells like fresh, lively flowers; it’s impressive what they’ve achieved with this, and it gets much more success among groups of friends or girls than among couples or men. Although it sounds strange, its evolution changes by gender: it takes a more masculine and springy route on men, but still, I don’t think the sillage compares to many other eau de parfums.
Mugler with L’Oréal: except for Alien Mirage, it’s not worth it at all. It has gone from being the most differentiated and special within commercial perfumery to the most mainstream and boring.
After a week of wear, I’d say this could be a flanker of Alien Goddess Intense but without the coconut. It’s the same formula minus the coconut, with the same jasmine and amber. The marked difference is that this has sandalwood. I was very critical when I first tried it, but it’s well thought out as a commercial concept. Don’t look further: it’s easy, smells good, is pleasant, and not annoying. It’s a perfume for those who don’t want to overcomplicate things and is easy to gift. It doesn’t bother me despite not innovating at all. I think the name isn’t fitting. The first Angel started the gourmand family. Here we have a perfume that adapts to current times, the era of extra-sugary perfumes. It fits that concept, but not enough to call it an elixir. It could have been called Angel Now. It passes the ‘sleep test’ and clings very well to fabric.
I like it; it smells of sweet roses and barely detectable caramelized vanilla. The opening is youthful and not heavy like the original. As it dries down, there’s a much heavier rose scent that can be uncomfortable, yet something exotic and mysterious depending on who wears it.
This liquid is a strange mix between Britney’s Fantasy, La Vie Est Belle, and Montale’s Intense Café: cloying, much more gourmand than the original. It’s not an angel; it’s an undefined, commercial, generic entity. It’s not a star; it’s a trunk without arms or legs; where is the pink pepper, the orange blossom, or the jasmine? It smells of coconut and vanilla, like gel, a song with the same base notes… I feel so simple, so average, nobody special. It’s not iconic; it’s the offspring of an icon. The meaning of ‘elixir’ is medicinal liquor, so yes, it honors the name somewhat. Depeche Mode made music for the masses but tried to be original; now it doesn’t matter, it seems that what’s important is investing in advertising and selling rather than offering quality. Would Marilyn Monroe wear something like this? Elizabeth Taylor, Diana, Chanel? Why would they buy a supermarket cake instead of a patisserie one? For the packaging? Perhaps because we live in an era of multinationals and PR, where audiovisuals and fantasy reign. A light layer of vanilla remains after three hours. 🕯️ 2/10 🍂
I own the original and was eager to try this; it’s totally a very current and well-judged perfume because it’s not so invasive. It’s very sexy, seductive, sweet, and elegant. I liked it more than the traditional version and totally recommend buying it blind. What surprised me was the weak projection and longevity… for an elixir, it should perform better.
If you like this scent, I recommend trying another one I found very similar: Valentino Born in Roma Intense. The only difference is that this one is truly intense, lasts longer, and you can find it at a better price.
