If you’re looking for something that blends intensity, sensuality, and versatility, this Valentino is a treasure. While it shares the same DNA as Born in Roma Intense, this version wins on depth, longevity, and character thanks to being a Parfum. It’s the secret weapon for anyone wanting something sensual and versatile. The balance of spices, woods, and aromatic notes makes it suitable for everything: dates, work, or night out. Its warm spicy profile with a herbal touch makes it ideal for cooler climates, autumn, and winter.
I absolutely love it—my girlfriend and I are both obsessed. The longevity is insane, easily lasting over 8 hours without any issues, and the projection is excellent. It’s super versatile for any occasion, from a romantic date to going out partying or even formal events. It smells very masculine and makes you stand out wherever you go.
Very rich, just that it’s completely unisex. I was wearing it, and they asked if I was using a women’s perfume, haha. Trail 10/10, projection 10/10, scent 9/10.
It’s really good! Honestly, Valentino with this line is hit after hit. I own the EDT, Coral Fantasy, and this one—all are excellent. If you’re young, those three cover everything, but of course… they’re quite expensive, especially in America, since in Spain they cost about 50% less on average. My order would be the Coral Fantasy Extradose EDT; the Extradose is the most potent. Totally recommended for going out to parties, dates, movies, etc.—basically any kind of night out.
It’s very good. The truth is, Valentino with this line is hit after hit; I have the EDT, Coral Fantasy, and this one… All very good. If you’re young, with those 3 you’re covered for everything, but of course… They’re quite expensive, especially in America, since in Spain they cost about 50% less on average. Coral Fantasy, Extradose, EDT would be my order; the most potent is the Extradose. Totally recommended for going out to parties, dates, movies, etc., generally any type of outing.
I’m the only crazy person who thinks it reminds them of King of Seduction Absolute. I tested it on skin, and my sensation was a fusion of Antonio Banderas’s perfume with Invictus Victory Elixir.
Very nice fragrance, quite similar to the Intense version in my opinion, which stands out for that lavender and ‘clean’ feeling. Unlike the new Extradose version, which loses that clean part and focuses on a sweeter, creamier, spicier lavender, leaning a bit towards what evokes Coral Fantasy, but be careful, it doesn’t resemble that one much. In simple words, Extradose is like mixing Born in Roma Intense and Stronger with You. Recommended for dates and parties. In my collection, I have Extradose, Coral Fantasy, and Intense. My top would be: 1. Coral Fantasy (it’s the most unique and purposeful in the Born in Roma line, and for an EDT, it lasts quite a bit in my case). 2. Extradose (surprised me, quite potent and good longevity, scent isn’t too novel but works, got compliments on a date using it). 3. Intense (the easiest to like, mainstream for simple tastes, the most boring in the line in my opinion, leaves a lot to be desired with longevity).
It’s a good perfume; I’ve been wearing it for a while and already have the Intense. Should I recommend it? Honestly, no; I think it’s good on its own, but the Intense and Coral Fantasy are better, especially since the Coral Fantasy is more versatile.
It carries the ambered sweetness of Cool Water Intense and a base of 212 VIP, along with some notes that add a certain freshness for me: sweet and fresh.
It needs movement to project; if it’s for close encounters, it works well, but if you’re going to a party or club, there are probably more projecting options that overshadow it. This acts as a shield: anyone who gets close will notice the potent aroma of Extradose. It has a simple scent that pleases with a very rich freshness when you’re moving and you notice that trail. If you stay seated, you’ll definitely notice the lavender more, compliments galore. Projection: 7/10 (in the first few hours, you’ll leave a trail like most designer perfumes). Longevity: 12h+. Price: Relatively high if you live in LatAm, but it’s a blind buy if you don’t have a charming perfume for quiet nights out. Scent: Simple but effective; the opposite sex loves the simplicity of BIR Extradose. Score: 9.
It smells like a dark version of spiced tutti frutti gum. I see it as ideal for cool climates, dates, and nights, but not so much for party or club outings, since, although it has good longevity, it doesn’t project much. If you’re looking for something intimate that women surely like, this Extradose will work. If you want something more daily or for casual outings, I’d recommend the Intense version (which will also please). Both are very rich and easy to like, but I see this Extradose more for 1-on-1 situations. The DNA is there; it can’t be denied that they relate. Conclusion: +Longevity, sensuality, and depth = EXTRADOSE. +Projection, energy, and spark = INTENSE.
To start, this is a beast. It’s already become one of my favorites without a doubt. It’s super versatile for any season; while it has that sweet touch, it’s not invasive like other fragrances. Despite that versatility, it’s best used for special occasions or dates because compliments are guaranteed thanks to its sensuality. As for longevity, it lasts more than enough—easily 8 hours with just a few sprays. When it comes to projection, it doesn’t go unnoticed; at gatherings, everyone will smell it from quite a distance. However, as I mentioned, since it’s not invasive, it can be outshone by stronger scents. In short, it works for any time of year, but I’d use it more for dates or hangouts.
I sprayed 1 on my wrist to smell it myself (typical scene of us smelling our perfumes), and when I greeted 3 different people, all 3 told me I smelled great, even though I had no intention of them noticing. Everyone likes it, men and women alike.
To start, it’s an incredible perfume that has become one of my favorites without a doubt. It feels quite versatile for any season; while it has that sweet touch, it’s not as overpowering as other fragrances. Despite this versatility, I think it’s key to wear it for special occasions or dates, because compliments are guaranteed thanks to its sensuality. As for longevity, it lasts more than enough; it easily lasts 8 hours with just a few sprays. Regarding projection, it doesn’t go unnoticed; at gatherings, everyone will smell you from a distance, but since it’s not invasive, stronger scents can still overpower it. In short, it works for any time of year, but I’d use it more for dates or hangouts.
I haven’t been in the perfume world very long, and among the ones I’ve tried, this is one of my top two favorites; I find it versatile and long-lasting, which is all I can say.

I agree with the previous reviewer. The dry-down of Extradose is vanilla that’s more synthetic than the Intense. It probably projects more, but at the cost of smelling like burnt, plastic vanilla. It seems like an oriental perfume dry-down.
Like everything Valentino releases, it’s a machine for pleasing the masses. The scent isn’t very complex, but it’s well-constructed and doesn’t feel like a mess of notes. It reminds me a lot of the Intense, but with a soft spicy opening; I’d say it’s anise or cumin with a touch of pepper, which I like because it gives it a more masculine tone. As it dries down, I don’t like it as much because it takes on a bitter, more aromatic tone, but overall it’s very linear. Honestly, for that price, there are better options. Generally, if you’re new, you’ll like it, but if you’re a veteran, you’ll get bored. 6/10.
At first, it smells a lot like Born In Roma Intense, so I thought I was on the right track. The problem comes when it dries down: that’s when I don’t like it anymore. Something doesn’t quite fit, a detail that takes me out of the experience and prevents me from enjoying it as expected. It’s not bad, but compared directly, the Intense still comes out on top, and by a lot. For me, Extradose doesn’t offer enough to justify it over the Intense.
Obviously, brands need to update to stay relevant. This perfume is the classic bubblegum scent that became popular years ago. Since I’m from Generation X, I stick with the classic Valentino Uomo and Intense, which I consider among the best designer perfumes.
It’s obvious that brands need to ‘update’ to new trends to stay relevant in the market. This perfume is the classic bubblegum scent that became a trend a few years ago. Being from Generation X, I stick with the classic Valentino Uomo and Intense, which I consider among the best designer perfumes.
It lasts and projects way too much. I sprayed it on one hand in the store, and the whole way home in the car, I smelled lavender and that sweet woody touch. My wife asked why I was wearing perfume, thinking I’d applied it out of habit, when I only sprayed one hand. Maybe I’ll buy it in the future, but the downside is the price: it’s a bit high in LATAM.
It smells quite similar to the Intense at first, but as it dries down, it becomes more woody and feels more mature. It’s versatile without being overkill if you don’t over-spray in the heat, perfect for cold weather, day, and night. Very good longevity.
A very striking option for the night. We get used to sweet perfumes in winter, and this Valentino Extradose changes the game. The spicy opening is addictive, with a seductive hint of black pepper. It’s my partner’s favorite and people always compliment me when I wear it. It lasts hours on skin and days on clothes. For cold weather, it’s a beast, and in spring or autumn, only for night. Does it work during the day? Yes, but this Valentino is for night and parties. 100% recommended.
He received this as a gift and it smells just like the Intense: warm, spicy, and with a lot of lavender. The performance is beast-like: I sprayed it on my wrist and at 4 PM, after showering, it still smelled amazing. Perfect for going out at night.
To me, it smells almost identical to the Intense but lasts longer. On my skin, it lasted all day, although the projection is similar to its sibling. It feels a bit more mature but stays in the same league; it’s seeking popularity with confidence. Spicy opening, clean heart, and amber-woody base that ensures longevity. I like it, but in Chile it’s expensive and I already own the Intense. I only add it to my wishlist because of the longevity.
