Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
The opening is a beautiful jasmine, but as it dries down, it turns into an earthy, almost rotten wood that becomes unbearable and the jasmine disappears. I tried to love it, but I couldn’t make it work 😔
I absolutely love it. I bought it blind and it was instant love. That jasmine takes me back to my childhood, to my grandma’s scent with fresh flowers on her clothes; it’s an emotional note. It’s not just any jasmine; it’s complex, deep, and elegant. It lasts forever and was the first perfume that ever made me feel pampered. What a disappointment not to have tried it sooner; it proves classics never go out of style. A delightful surprise that’s already among my favorites. I’d buy it a thousand times over.
Mugler knows how to create incredible scents. It’s a gorgeous jasmine, a very special and distinctive white floral.
It smells almost exclusively of jasmine, but not the typical sunny and cheerful kind. The sambac in Alien has something metallic, cold, and deep. It’s not trying to hype you up, but to accompany you in silence. I’d describe it as ‘sad flowers,’ with a melancholic and narcotic touch that resonates with introspection. It’s not for everyone, but I love it 🥰💘
My number one alongside Angel and its versions; excellent quality with incredible longevity and sillage. A spectacular aroma of jasmines and woods, sexy and feminine. I love it forever.
It’s intense and mysterious despite being floral. The sillage and longevity are incredible. It feels elegant and complex even with few notes. It’s not something to buy blind or a common scent. Definitely recommend it for those over 30. If you want to feel powerful, feminine, sexy, and mysterious, this perfume delivers it all.
Day or night, summer or two degrees below zero, it’s always pleasant. An elegant and fresh jasmine with an enveloping trail that everyone loves at every step. It’s well-made and captivating.
To me, it smells like expensive soap, very feminine and rich. I tried it out of curiosity and ended up falling in love. As a user of Flowebomb by Viktor & Rolf, it feels like a logical evolution from one perfume to another. I think it will be my new signature.
Brutal. A sweet, refined amber fragrance with bright white flowers. Maybe that brightness comes from the cashmere molecule making it also musky but very modern. Intense floral and amber. Ideal for parties and formal events to stand out because it lasts hours and projects a lot. A masterpiece.
It’s incredible how just three ingredients turn Alien into a timeless jewel. It has it all: longevity, a present but non-invasive sillage, and an unmistakable character. The jasmine gives a luminous cleanliness, the amber adds elegance, and the cashmere wraps you in soft comfort, creating an exotic aura. It’s my favorite perfume of the 30s, powerful, feminine, and memorable.
Alien is the only one that left me speechless… At first, with its reputation for lasting forever, it didn’t convince me at all in the store: the dry-down was too strong, incense-heavy, and too masculine for me. But a few months ago, I used it as a body mist at night, and it was a total surprise. On my skin, it turned floral, enveloping, and super cozy; it reminded me of my mother’s Angel and awakened a sense of comfort I didn’t expect. It has nothing to do with the image I had of it. Now, between Alien and Hypersense, I choose this one: although Hypersense is spicier and fruitier, this is more serious and ambered, but now I absolutely love it.
An iconic fragrance that I fell in love with thanks to a friend who stayed home and smelled delicious. I bought Alien because it’s oriental, white floral, and ambered; I feel that jasmine is the main note, with a touch of amber and something unusual that smells like grape. It reminds me of current perfumes like Armani My Way or Prada Paradoxe, so if you already have those and are looking for something different, don’t buy it. It has brutal longevity and projection, and the bottle is gorgeous and magical.
It was a blind buy and I absolutely loved it. It smells like sugary jasmines; it’s sexy, mysterious, dark, and sensual. You can’t stop smelling it.
The most extreme jasmine. To wear Alien, you have to be a fan of white florals, because the opening is intense, almost overwhelming. Many find it elegant but very matronly. What I enjoy most is the dry-down: when the jasmine fades and cashmeran and amber rise, it becomes warm and pleasant, without excessive sweetness. Some say it’s sugary jasmine, but on my skin the amber adds just a hint of sweetness. The vibe is that of an office manager: serious, formal, with character. My rating: 6/10. It was my first time with Mugler and it was a slight disappointment; I expected more. Still, it’s a classic for those who love pure jasmine.
Oh, what a marvel! It’s one of those perfumes you never get tired of. Soft, feminine, with a velvety jasmine that embraces you… it looks so beautiful and cozy on the skin. Longevity and sillage are excellent.
I had read good reviews about Alien and here is my honest opinion… Despite having only three notes, it’s a complex scent. I’ve been wearing it for a week and I’m still discovering it. The jasmine is super realistic. It’s not a beast in projection, but it has good longevity and an intense aroma. I like it; I perceive it as ‘clean’ thanks to the jasmine, although it’s not for every age; I think it suits people 25 and up. I’m intrigued to try Hypersense or the EDT, which are said to be more wearable. I feel it’s a scent I really like, elegant, clean, and mysterious. I’ve never perceived it on others, which makes it unique. I prefer it for fall and winter. It’s a good quality-price investment; I paid 800 pesos with a reliable seller.
I must say it’s surprising. As a man, in the current state of the market, it’s the best perfume that both a man and a woman can wear. I’ve been using it for a while and it’s a real machine: the jasmine is impressive, the evolution leaves you speechless, and the longevity and projection are brutal, very economical for what it offers. A 10/10. I confirm it’s a compliment generator machine. You don’t have to do anything, just apply a little (watch out for overdoing it because it’s strong) and the perfume will invade everyone around you without you even realizing it. Alien is a real gem.
The legendary Alien smells like sugary jasmines with a soapy base that creates a unique and splendid floral fragrance for your senses, intensely pleasurable.
I don’t usually like white florals, and this is pure jasmine that gives me a headache due to its potency.
One of the best from this house; I love it now.
Alien… I adore you, you’re my second love after Angel EDP. Angel marked my life and will stay, but you are my current passion. I first tried it at an airport Duty Free; I sprayed it all over my neck without thinking, because with Mugler I always buy blind. While waiting for my flight, I felt that jasmine scent rising from my neck and thought: ‘HOLY CRAP, what beauty!’ I had never explored more of Mugler before. Honestly, I wasn’t leaving Angel. Yesterday I went to a downtown perfumery, heard about the new fragrances, and I pinned ALIEN to the edge of my blazer. I carried it on blotting paper. OH MY GOD, I still have that little paper on my counter, bursts of fragrance constantly come off it, it’s like a call to BUY ME NOW. It’s a vintage, dark, sensual, and mysterious jasmine, typical of Thierry Mugler, reformulated or not. It’s an addictive floral with that dark touch that makes it niche. Very elegant. It will be my next purchase. I gave it time, tested it months ago at the airport and again yesterday: YES, ABSOLUTELY! Alien, I’ll be getting you soon and adding you to my Angel star collection.
I’d like a ‘love-hate’ rating for complex feelings. When I first smelled it, it hypnotized me; I said ‘I love it’ and ‘I need it’, captivated by that lilac or violet jasmine, as if it had dyes, a jasmine made of bubblegum. But after a while, it overwhelmed me. Very strong, piercing, disgusting concentration, it disturbed me: ‘Is this the perfume that smells so strong and can’t stop invading me?’. Yes, it was. I needed it to calm down or change. Although I wet my arm just with a swab. I saw reviews saying it’s strong at first but enjoyable with use, so I’ll keep testing it with the sample.
I love it, it’s perfect, only that it doesn’t last on me at all, how is that possible? Everyone says it lasts forever 🙁
Wow, finally tested it and the hype is real. I really loved it and I need it 💜. I love jasmine and this was a huge hit 🥰. It smells very elegant jasmine and a little sweet. Its notes are perfect 💘.
Alien EDP – Mugler. To start this new journey, even though it’s extremely well-known, I settled on a Mugler classic. A perfume for going out at night. So much has been said about it that I can only confirm everything. But I want to wear it because I feel like a goddess every time I see it. It brings me so many good memories. The fragrance is most praised by men and women; in men, it has a transformative effect🙊. I went to the presentation of Dulceida’s EDT in Madrid and Dulceida herself, friendly and spontaneous as in her videos, said how good it smelled. I was at the presentation of HER fragrance! Madame de Rosa, who attended her friend’s event, also emphasized how much she loved my perfume. Of course, I was wearing Alien. Its trail is huge, it floods any room. Its longevity is outstanding, about 8 hours on my skin with notable projection at the end. Despite the reformulation, the performance is still very good and the scent is identical to the Thierry Mugler version. In my opinion, only for cold weather, although I know women who use it in summer. Jasmine, cashmere, and amber. Despite the apparent naturalness, the combined scent is quite artificial; cashmere combined with jasmine can make you think of clothes washed with luxurious products. Indeed, it’s extraterrestrial (‘weird’). I’m more of a fan of friendly aromas that everyone likes. In Alien, you either love it or hate it. Although it sounds paradoxical, I’m passionate about how it makes me feel: a true FEMME FATALE! Mystical, enchanting, attractive, enigmatic, intense, powerful, timeless… Sexy beyond words and elegant. That’s this bomb of woody, sweet, and resinous jasmine, which could be the scent of Marlene Dietrich in ‘Witness for the Prosecution’ or Greta Garbo in ‘Mata Hari’💜.
My second favorite from Mugler after Angel Nova. It smells very much of jasmine, so if you don’t like jasmine, stay away. I use it daily and it has good longevity. I don’t think it’s for a special event, but an old school perfume, without many note blends, that never fails.
It took me more than 6 years to decide and buy this perfume. I saw so many reviews and comments. Once I saw it in a friend’s vanity, smelled it, and it disappointed me a bit; I expected something WOW and it seemed like a very ‘eh’ scent to me. After years, I decided and bought it. I used it and said: ‘mm, I like it but it’s normal’. 3-4 days passed and now I could know it 100%, I LOVE IT!!!!! It’s my favorite perfume and I would buy it as many times as needed. Without a doubt, it’s a perfume with which I want to be remembered always. NOTE, if you don’t like jasmine, it’s not for you, because it smells a lot, but obviously improved, it’s not like bringing a jasmine plant there haha, but it’s deliciousooooo!!!! It’s a very peculiar scent, without a doubt not many people smell this or similar perfumes, it’s very unique and delicious =) very sweet!!!
I thought I didn’t like it, but lately I’ve been leaning towards white florals and thought: come on, let’s give this a try… How have I not seen this before?? Incredible. This is a masterful and overwhelming work of art. I’ll try to describe it faithfully: the opening of jasmine, but not a photorealistic or natural one, but a synthetic one, like fabric softener (note, I love it). The whole fragrance is very artificial, yes, like alien. Everyone talks about the jasmine, but I’d say the cashmere is on the same level: it smells to me like freshly ironed and washed towels in a luxury hotel laundry. It also smells like body cream. There are two things I don’t know what they are: a bitter and earthy sensation, like moss. The other is a sunny sensation. I don’t know if it makes sense, but I perceive it that way. It doesn’t seem sweet or typical floral. It’s an artificial perfume of exaggerated cleanliness. Probably like from another planet, yes. The name is appropriate. I see it for all weather and situations except extreme heat, as long as sprays are regulated.
I bought it blind, no regrets but it’s not my best purchase. The bottle is beautiful, the content is puzzling (like most Muglers), although it’s not bad. In the opening notes I felt a strong grape aroma, fresh, but it changes to jasmine… quite potent. It has medium to long fixation, trail, and projection, but not as invasive as Angel.
It arrived yesterday, blind buy. In the opening there’s freshness, something metallic, then it settles and leaves a unique scent, sweet but not cloying, potent but not annoying, elegant yet sexy at the same time. Crazy. What a beautiful fragrance. Although I only gave it 2 sprays a few hours ago, every time I move there’s a wave of the scent. For me it would be a signature perfume, I’d use it even for washing dishes, but given its price and being so special, I’ll keep it just for going out. 10/10
