Descripción

Valentino Donna by Valentino is an oriental floral fragrance from the Valentino house, launched in 2015 and designed for women. Created by perfumers Sonia Constant and Antoine Maisondieu, the composition opens with the freshness of bergamot and grapefruit. The heart reveals the elegance of iris, the delicacy of Bulgarian rose, and a gourmand touch of praline, complemented by mahogany. In the base, the scent settles with the warmth of vanilla, the character of patchouli, and the sophistication of leather.

  • I smell iris, leather, and patchouli. I like it, but I don’t think I’ll buy the bottle. After five hours of wearing it, I can only smell it close to the skin. The bottle looks very cute.

  • Manuela Monteiro

It just arrived, it’s delicious, I’m in love! It’s very sophisticated and elegant. I applied it three hours ago and I can still smell it strongly, especially on my hair and clothes. The Damask rose stands out, and at the end, patchouli and leather. I imagine a woman in the office, with heels and soft makeup, perhaps dressed in pastel tones. Skin longevity: 6 hours. Projection: good for the first three hours. Sillage: moderate. Final note: 7.50/10. Very good, Valentino!

  • Rosa del Mar

I received this perfume today and I love it; it has an aroma reminiscent of the 80s/90s. The leather is noticeable from the start, mixed with iris and rose. After about 20 minutes, patchouli, bergamot, and leather form an inseparable trio; I can’t detect the vanilla. Almost at the end, after several hours, all that remains is a soft patchouli mixed with leather. In short, it’s a winter perfume for girls where leather is the protagonist from start to finish. It lasts all night; I’d choose it again, I love it!!!! It’s very similar to Givenchy’s L’ange Noir, but it also reminds me of Yves Saint Laurent’s Ivresse (champagne).

  • As Rosa del Mar said, in the end, it reminds me of Yvrese; I hadn’t noticed it before, but yes. What a relief, since no other perfume had reminded me of it until now, and it was one my grandmother used that I adored. 🥰 Here, when trying Donna at a perfumery, you can smell the rose and leather fully merged. It’s not a common perfume, and the leather note seems quite rare these days. I felt the same note with La Petite Robe Noir Black Perfect. I perceive it for gala and evening events; for daily wear, I think it would overwhelm me.

  • LulaFlower

As a lover of rose and bergamot fragrances, I had high expectations for this eau de parfum. I thought the leather would give it a rockier touch, something for evening wear. Unfortunately, it feels artificial, lacking nuances, and too harsh.

  • To my nose, it starts with a fleeting bergamot that pairs with the iris, settling into leather and rose (an unripe, citrusy rose). The perfume stays close to the skin… I’m not sure if my version is very current or if it’s the 800th reformulation… I won’t be buying it again.

  • It’s one of my favorite iris perfumes, and it’s the one that made me fall in love with that note. When I wear it, I feel feminine and elegant, yet not a super delicate floral, but with character. It has something that makes it ‘unique’ for me. It’s a beautiful combination of iris, rose, and leather, with that marked powdery floral part that reminds me a bit of lipstick, without being vintage. On my skin, the leather comes through quite a bit as it dries: it’s not dirty or animalic, nor excessive, but it’s there giving it a slightly ‘rugged’ vibe. In the end, it becomes sweeter and creamier, even slightly gourmand, as if it carried whipped cream or praline, with a touch of patchouli, without losing the iris. In the end, it does remind me of La Nuit Trésor, but much softer and more refined. It’s feminine and versatile: simple enough for daily wear and sophisticated enough for formal occasions. Performance is good, projection is moderate to high for the first two hours, followed by an intimate sillage. It lasts about 10 hours on skin, with the last traces being very close to the skin. Overall, reviews about its performance are positive. And of course, the bottle is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen.

The best perfume I’ve ever owned. Without a doubt, its fragrance is elegant, attractive, and highly sophisticated; it suits my skin perfectly. I choose it for winter because it’s quite intense, but I don’t mind wearing it year-round. What really stands out are its base notes: a fascinating vanilla aroma with a strong touch of leather. A true masterpiece! BRAVO VALENTINO, you never disappoint me.

  • I absolutely loved it: upon spraying, it’s fresh and you get that classic lipstick-like iris note, but it fades quickly leaving behind a sweet, vanilla rose. Although I enjoy patchouli and leather, I don’t detect them here; the trail is moderate and lasts about 4 hours, with the dry down becoming almost imperceptible. Still, I enjoyed it immensely and think it will be one of my favorites, as it smells very similar to Montale’s Roses Musk, just lighter and fresher, whereas the other is dense, creamy, and sweet like burnt sugar. Both are exquisite, though linear. Donna feels elegant, feminine, and versatile to me: a blind buy that has me head over heels.

  • Cosmicgirl

Beautiful, though not for me—another Valentino is my favorite. From this one, I highlight the special aspect: a warm, vanilla-infused rose that I love in this line. It adds a freshly ironed clothes feel thanks to the leather. I sense spice, likely from the patchouli, which gives it flavor; it’s not unpleasant, it’s seductive and mature, meant to be taken seriously. Very versatile, but being heavy, maybe not for warm weather. For me, this whole line feels like a cosmetic aroma that transitions from textile to gourmand, and I absolutely adore it.

  • Vale Barajas

This is a beast of a fragrance. I obsessed over it blindly and didn’t make a mistake. It has a classic yet modern air. The opening is slightly powdery bergamot—not too luminous but fresh—that fades as it dries to reveal a beautiful iris and rose combo. It’s sweet, like the soft makeup scent in a department store. It gives off a bit of L’VEB or YSL’s Libre vibe, but it’s distinct. My mom said it reminded her of Diorling. There’s a slight resemblance to La Belle with that rich vanilla, leather, and patchouli combo, but the powdery, sweet iris presence stays throughout. The projection isn’t strong, but on my skin, it projects more than Mon Guerlain and lasted over 8 hours. It’s elegant and refined, not like candy. In my opinion, I don’t see it as a daily wear because it’s discontinued and it’s a gem, but if it weren’t, I’d wear it every day. I don’t see a specific season for it; it’s super versatile. Scent: 10/10, Longevity: 9/10, Sillage: 7/10.

  • HUGE perfume. It’s not cheap, but if you think about the quality, the price is a steal. What does it smell like? Hard to say. It’s powdery but not really, enveloping but not overpowering, sweet but not cloying. It shares some sweet leather notes with Shalimar Initial, but lacks that strong personality that bothers many. It’s nothing like Classic Shalimar. It has a sweet vibe similar to Creed’s Spring Flowers, but while that one can sometimes be cloying, Valentino keeps it sophisticated without feeling like a mature perfume. This is a buy-blind scent. And for those who say it smells like Valentina by Valentino… no, only in the base notes, but it’s sweeter and classier.

  • Today I only sprayed one atomization because I got saturated sooner. It reminds me of Shalimar Initial, kind of. Donna is stronger and can be overwhelming. But for fall and winter, it’s highly recommended. It has great sillage and longevity; compared to what’s available today, it feels like something from the 90s. If I use a small amount, I’ll enjoy this one all winter.

  • Etomsicha

It’s a great perfume—unique, sweet, and modern. I wear it in cold weather or at night.

  • verdepensativo

What elegance and class, this perfume masterpiece. The iris and rose burst out, with a very intense leather. It oozes class and modernity. Very sophisticated, beautiful, and feminine.

  • Incredible that I managed to get this amazing perfume. It’s no longer available in Argentina, and I was lucky to find it. I’m totally fascinated; it dresses me entirely: I just sprayed it on my neck, inner elbow, and wrists, and it dressed me completely. It’s velvety; I can smell the iris, leather, and vanilla from start to finish, drying down to a beautiful creamy scent. What strikes me most is the atomizer; the quality is undeniable. It’s the first time I’ve noticed such detail in the bottle and nozzle, it’s absolutely gorgeous.

  • Sadly, I bought it today after reading the notes and finding them interesting, but once I applied it, it reminded me of my late grandmother’s perfume from 18 years ago… it smells very much like an extremely old lady =(

  • Reina Amigdala

This is my perfect all-rounder: formal or casual, day or night, cold or mild weather. It feels very feminine, smelling of powdery roses with a well-balanced patchouli and a leather note that, far from being masculine, makes it sensual and cozy. I feel it’s timeless, not following trends. It smells classic (without being vintage or old-lady-ish). Lasts about 6 hours with moderate sillage.

  • I absolutely love it and it’s super versatile. On my dry skin, it reads as leather with vanilla, powdery but just right. It looks elegant and modern. It lasts forever, which is rare because most perfumes I own don’t last long or project well. It has conquered me again, just like Idylle. I’m so glad to rediscover classics because recent new releases really leave much to be desired.

  • I love it! Very rich, you have to know how to use it and it truly is of great taste. My story: I wanted to buy it because of positive recommendations that it was wonderful and drove anyone who passed by crazy. At a perfumery, they applied it on me and the drydown didn’t like it; it smells very vanilla and common floral for its price, and slightly anesthetic. I tried others, went to lunch, and there its enveloping scent appeared that made me fall in love and desperate to have it. A sweet, between leather, unique vanilla, and roses. One day my mother, who only uses Paloma Picasso and gets allergies to the rest, praised me like never before. Then I knew it was a good reference. I felt joy that my mother liked another perfume. Buy it!

  • The best purchase I’ve made. I enjoy this fragrance because it envelops me completely and I feel it all day. Sweet, slightly powdery with that touch of leather and vanilla that lasts all day.

  • Audrey2016

I hadn’t been surprised by a fragrance in days, I love it! To the point of thinking of it as a signature scent. I hadn’t heard it on anyone, it has body, is very versatile, and elegant. It’s not those cloying sweets that make you dizzy and hate in two days. It’s not mass-produced, how happy I am!

  • danimaranion

What a beautiful perfume! I love it so much. It has beautiful projection and longevity; it lasts all day on me. It’s elegant, enveloping, and I feel comfortable wearing it; I perceive it all the time without being overwhelming. You can smell a lot of leather and vanilla. It’s a classic scent but very different from today’s ones. I feel it’s warm, perfect for winter/fall; I wouldn’t use it with too much heat. It smells like an expensive perfume, quality from the bottle to the scent and performance. I highly recommend it.

  • In my city, the testers are of the original version, with a beautiful combination of rose, iris, vanilla, patchouli, and leather. My surprise was opening the box: the bottle had a cap and the liquid was paler than in stores. I thought only the packaging had changed, but upon using it, I confirmed the aroma had also changed for the worse. It smells synthetic, slightly sweet attacked roses that last a breath, and the leather that made the original special is completely missing. It resembles a watery Narcisse Rouge without musk. What a pity with L’Oréal’s reformulation.

  • Guadaperfumada

It’s very wearable, sweet vanilla, you can feel the woody cashmere. In the style of Poison Girl. Absolutely beautiful.

  • I didn’t like the scent; it smells like rose talcum powder, but the longevity is excellent, lasting more than 8 hours on the skin with good intensity, though it fades later. The trail is soft. Since I didn’t like it, I didn’t wear much of it.

  • TatiSillage

It’s a very well-balanced perfume, ideal if you’re tired of sweet gourmands but don’t want to go all the way to green scents. Very elegant… I’ll continue reviewing it later as these are my first impressions.

  • MissPennyLane

I bought it blind and it was a hit. The rose is outside my comfort zone, but here it’s gorgeous, powdery, and can be slightly sweet as it dries down. It lasts 6-7 hours on the skin and projects a lot for the first two or three hours. It has a very vintage vibe, like 80s rose soap bars. Although it’s not my absolute favorite, whenever I wear it, people say I smell good. I recommend it to rose lovers and retro enthusiasts.

  • MarinaEtoile

I absolutely love this fragrance: it smells like old, dusty roses but with a lot of attitude. It’s not for grandmas or too youthful. What I like most is the leather base; at first, I was scared of it, but here it’s delicious thanks to the rose and iris. It lasts about 8-9 hours on the skin and projects well for the first 5. It’s not sweet, but elegant and distinguished. It’s very well balanced and worth the purchase.

  • My favorite perfume. This Donna is a characterful scent, ‘powdery,’ but not the kind that smells like ‘baby’—NO! This is a scent that smells like a dressed-up woman, hehe, one that makes you think the person wearing it took the time to choose their outfit, do their makeup, fix their hair, and pick a great lipstick. Without a doubt, it’s my favorite, and even though it is, I don’t use it frequently because, as I said before, it’s for a special day. I’ve read it’s ideal for the autumn-winter season; I enjoy it all year round, but I moderate its use in winter.

  • It was on my list of perfumes I thought I’d like blind… guided by videos, reviews, and notes, but to my surprise, I didn’t like it at all 😞. I don’t know, it just feels too vintage for me.

  • BeatrizBlackwood

This perfume is my weakness; when I apply it, I can’t help but feel a state of sensuality and poise. It’s a pity they decided to stop selling it; as soon as I can, I’ll get a backup bottle.

  • Valentino Donna is a hyper-feminine and captivating fragrance. In my opinion, the dominant notes are rose, vanilla, and patchouli, wrapped in a powdery iris base; I agree with those who define it as a ‘makeup smell’—it’s a luxurious and sophisticated composition. Regarding performance, I’d give it an average rating: the longevity on me was six to seven hours, with moderate projection for about three hours and then lingering for another three hours without being very noticeable. The presentation is beautiful, a bottle with stopper-style cuts and gold details. It does resemble others. I bought mine blind, based on reviews and online opinions, and from the first time I sprayed it, I liked it, though it vaguely reminded me of another perfume; I kept thinking about it, and after a couple of hours with some arm movement, the answer came to me: Armani Si, Eau de Parfum, the classic. It’s truly similar, with the only difference being that Si’s opening is fruitier, while Donna is slightly citrusy and generally lighter than my Armani bottle. Personally, I didn’t associate it with L’Orangerie or Flowerbomb, but I suppose it’s a family fragrance within that fruity, floral, powdery formula. The similarity doesn’t bother me since Si is one of my favorite perfumes, but it’s something to take into account. Who will like it: lovers of powdery rose.

  • To me, it’s the scent of beauty; it’s the fragrance that made me fall in love with perfumery. It’s classic and elegant. I love the combination of iris and rose with the sweet touch of vanilla. It’s feminine and timeless. Simply put, I have no words to describe it.

  • Soyyoymiperfume

Spectacular! Yes, it’s true that it has something that reminds me of the original Armani Si, probably because of the style since both came out almost at the same time… but I like this one much more because it evolves, whereas Si stays more linear on my skin. Valentino Donna (the first Eau de Parfum) is exquisite, refined, and delicate, yet it has presence and sillage; it’s a great perfume… however, I don’t like any of the successors at all… I’m sticking with this one 100%, please don’t discontinue it 🙏🏼. The slightly sweet, powdery rose is very flattering and divine.

  • My go-to perfume for special occasions, when I’m dressed up, when I want to make sure everyone notices I’m wearing perfume. It’s a scent with presence that makes you feel sexy. I love it.

  • Gemasevilla

This perfume is beautiful. It’s woody, you can smell the leather, and it has a slight powdery touch. It has personality; its scent stands out from the rest and is unique. It creates a very pleasant aura around you. It dresses you up, lasts throughout the day without being cloying.

  • It’s super feminine and works for any occasion; when I don’t know what to wear, I reach for it because it looks great in any situation. It’s one of my favorites. I’m not a fan of powdery scents in general, but this one is super wearable.
