I made a huge mistake with this brand six months ago. I bought the Iris Violet line, and with my urge to try everything at once, I burned out on powerful miniatures that left me confused. Not even the 100 ml bottle clicked for me. But now, searching for a pink-oud that isn’t dry or saffron-heavy, I’ve found this gem. A beautiful pink, wonderfully blended, that gave me a little spark. The trail is eternal and more complex than Lancôme’s Idôle. I recommend it 100%, but give it time: it’s an aggressive pink with more thorns than petals. A real discovery.
If you’re looking for a niche pink-oud combo that delivers big without breaking the bank, featuring a gorgeous bottle and an elegant, feminine, and seductive scent, this is it. Nothing revolutionary, but the longevity and sillage are top-notch, rivaling much more expensive perfumes. A great buy.
If you want a niche pink-oud combo that delivers big at an accessible price, with a stunning bottle and an elegant, feminine, and seductive scent, this is yours. Nothing new, but the longevity and projection are top-tier, matching perfumes that cost way more. A fantastic fragrance.
I like rose and oud perfumes, but they don’t count among my favorites. However, try adding caramel to them, and I’ll become a junkie. This perfume has a rich citrus-fruity opening, after which what remains quickly on my skin is the rose + tonka + oud combo. Maybe it’s linear, but… why have more? I’m obsessed with it. I liked its quality so much that I’ve been thinking that in a few months, for my birthday, I might order a perfume from Alexandre J. Probably not this one because I need to finish other scents from my collection first that, although different, follow this oud gourmand line. I’d like to compare it to Lattafa’s Oud Mood. Unfortunately, I don’t have my bottle of that perfume right now to do so. Oud Mood would be a serious rival for Rose Oud because that Lattafa wonder has a much better quality-to-price ratio. That will have to wait for a future experiment. Its trail is good, and you smell it constantly while wearing it. Its longevity is about 8-9 hours on my skin. Winter, nighttime, seductive. I really liked this fragrance! Scent 8.5/10 Longevity 8/10 Sillage 7.5/10 Value 7.5/10 Versatility 7.5/10 Packaging 6.5/10 Would I buy again? I didn’t buy it.
At first sniff, Candy Rose and Roses Musk by Montale came to mind, as if this perfume were a mix of both, light and refreshing, more suitable for spring days than winter ones. This is the fourth perfume I’ve tried from this collection, and so far they all seem to perform the same: 4 to 5 hours on my skin with a moderate trail, all very delicious! P.S. I just tried Midnight Amber by Oscar de la Renta, and they are identical.
Second time risking with oud wood. I liked it, but it wasn’t spectacular. Bought blindly on sale and based on good reviews. It’s very linear, unisex, with clear pink and oud notes. I don’t sense other accords, maybe a hint of lemon, but no raspberry, apple, or toffee. It’s not bad, but compared to my Natura Essencial Oud, which has rich sweetness, this feels short and more unisex. The trail is moderate and lasts about 5 hours. If I’d tested it first, maybe I wouldn’t have bought it. Won’t repurchase, but I’ll enjoy it in the heat.
It was the second oud wood fragrance I dared to try. I liked it, but I didn’t find it spectacular. I made the mistake of buying it blindly due to a sale and good reviews. For me, it’s a very linear, unisex scent with two clearly present notes: rose and oud wood. I don’t sense any other notes; if they exist, I don’t perceive them on my skin. The lemon touch might be noticeable a little, but it’s not predominant. I would have loved to feel the raspberry, the apple, that fruity accompaniment, and especially the tonka bean with more potency. It’s not a bad fragrance, but I can’t help comparing it to my first oud, Natura’s Essencial Oud, which I like much more. In that one, the rose-oud combo really shows with a very special, rich sweetness… here there’s no sweetness, I find it much more unisex. Its trail is moderate and the longevity doesn’t pass 5 hours, honestly. If I had tested it first, maybe I wouldn’t have bought it. I won’t repurchase it, but I will definitely enjoy it during hot weather.
On my skin, the rose and oud really shine. They are delicate rose and oud woods, nothing suffocating or overwhelming. I would have loved for the raspberry to be the star, since I already own tons of rose and oud perfumes, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the case. If you love Montale-style roses, this fragrance will fascinate you. I also found it very similar to Jo Malone’s Velvet Rose & Oud.
