Whenever I think of citrus perfumes, this is the first one that comes to mind… it’s the best! I love every single note and the harmony between them. It smells so refined… A total hit, I’d repurchase it many times without hesitation.

I tested both side by side: Coco Mademoiselle and the Intense. The original opens fresh and citrusy, drying down to a soapy, powdery, and very elegant scent, which makes it easier to wear if you’re not into strong fragrances. The Intense is more oriental, with a minty hint that might come from the patchouli, but it just doesn’t convince me, so I’m sticking with the original.

I tried it at the airport and it didn’t grab my attention at first, but a few minutes later when I smelled my wrist again, it seemed incredibly elegant, in the style of Chanel No. 5, but I like this one better. I’m not always a fan of vintage perfumes, but I’d use this if I could afford it.

Unlike the ‘pure’ Parfum, this feels more tropical, citrusy, less smoky, sensual, and less heavy. I use the EDP to boost the scent, and it doesn’t lose its luxurious aura, though it’s even fresher… I absolutely adore this signature Chanel patchouli! No dupe can match it. I spray it before bed and I still smell it when I wake up; sometimes I even eat breakfast with it on thanks to its staying power. Citrus top notes, floral heart, and a resinous base, nobody could hate this. 8.5/10.

A different and sophisticated perfume, it’s like a Chanel No. 5 but more feminine and aimed at a younger audience. It’s very long-lasting; I recommend trying a sampler first because it can be a complex scent but very fresh.

After not wearing it for a while, I suddenly start missing it: that dry-down, that class, that ability to last and stay true!! I don’t care if people say it smells vintage. At the prices commercial perfumes are charging these days, this is quality. I love it today and forever. For everyday wear, I guarantee that 3 sprays last all day… for night it’s absolutely stunning, and if you use it with its oil, the result is incredible. If I were a man, I’d fall in love with a woman who smelled like this.

I owned it but never finished it, it broke, and I didn’t care… It’s classic, elegant, and highlights the patchouli (which I personally love), but in the end, it’s a bit forgettable.
Mademoiselle
Elegant, classic, and refined. It has a commanding presence yet also an enveloping femininity, like an ivory silk dress. I perceive it as a subtle, fragrant, and dignified armor.

Giving Coco Mademoiselle to my mother-in-law was more than a gift; I gave her a taste of France. It’s an elegant, sophisticated essence that transports you straight to the Riviera. It opens with the freshness of bergamot and orange, blooms into rose, jasmine, and mimosa, and settles into a warm base of patchouli and vanilla. It smells like a stroll through Saint-Tropez: sea breeze, luxury, and beauty. It’s the scent of a confident woman in sunglasses and a flowing dress, enjoying life with class. If a perfume can encapsulate a memory, this one does it perfectly.

Jacques Polge is undoubtedly one of the best perfumers in modern history (I think he’s a genius; his son Oliver is also very talented), and in my opinion, this is one of his signature creations. It’s a very distinctive scent that helped reposition Chanel. His original Chance is also excellent—slightly fresher and more youthful but sharing the same style as Coco Mademoiselle. It was so original that it set trends for other houses, like Carolina Herrera. This perfume, especially historically speaking, was oddly overshadowed by the one his own son created for Lancôme: La Vie Est Belle.

This smells lit like old times.

One of those fragrances you dream of trying… personally, I didn’t like it. I find it heavy and outdated, or perhaps a bit too masculine for my taste, with that spicy, citrusy, vanilla, and boozy note… nooo! I also don’t get why mature women love it; it gave me a headache.

I don’t know how anyone can like this… it hits me with an olfactory punch that leaves me with a headache and feeling repulsed. I hate roses, but the other notes should work well… I don’t know, I truly hate it. It smells like an older lady perfuming herself on Sundays to go to mass in a mink coat, frizzy hair, and imitation handbags, spraying everyone around. It smells like a damp, moldy room mixed with a jumble of cheap air fresheners that stink. The only good thing is that it has good sillage and performance on the skin.

People always tell me I smell expensive. It’s elegant, youthful, fresh, yet present. It’s my favorite from Chanel. I always keep a backup bottle in my collection.

I bought it because they said it was similar to my out-of-production Miss Dior Cherie; it’s a bit alike but not the same. It’s lovely, I love it, it smells beautiful. It’s true that Club de Nuit Woman is identical to me, but Coco Mademoiselle has that distinct ‘smell of money’ vibe. I own both, but this one feels like a luxury scent; I can’t explain why, it just feels that way. When it runs out, I’ll buy it again for that unique touch, even though many have tried to copy it.

I’m back to the aura that surrounds Coco: always young and unmistakable. An orangey citrus top with an elegant base of vanilla, musk, and cedar that follows you from morning to night. My problem was always overusing its charm and longevity, not letting it breathe. Thanks to its price and sales, it’s not as ubiquitous anymore; it’s becoming an identity scent again, unique once more, marking a timeless style.

On my skin, I only smell patchouli from start to finish. I don’t detect the citrus or floral notes, nor do I feel the attack. Usually, I don’t tolerate strong scents, but this one doesn’t seem heavy to me. It’s intoxicating in a good way. On my skin, only the sweet notes linger, and I like that. I think summer is the only season I wouldn’t wear it, as it might feel overwhelming. It feels more suitable for daily use; I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for a formal or evening event. I’m not sure if my perception will change with more wear since I just got it, but I’ll update my review if I need to adjust my rating ☺️

Club de Nuit Woman has a super prominent peach note that’s missing in this Coco. Plus, the Chanel version is brighter and smells more expensive. The similarity is only about 50%.
guamea
A beautiful, fresh, elegant, and timeless scent. Recommended for every woman, regardless of her stage in adulthood.

I think it’s become so ubiquitous and seems to have suffered a reformulation that took away its touch. Citrus, fresh, summery. Casual, too normal for the price it commands.
Erika_AP
I bought it trusting the reviews I’d read. It’s citrusy yet sweet at the same time. In my opinion, it’s not elegant; it’s just cute. I must say it smells very similar to Jafra’s Vesen (orange color), which is much cheaper, so I wouldn’t spend money on this knowing there’s a far cheaper alternative.
Nahyra95
I thought it would smell super exquisite, but nah. It’s just citrusy and fresh. Club de Nuit Woman smells identical, exactly!!! I own both, and I prefer the Arabic version—it has better sillage, longer lasting power, and is way cheaper. If you want to smell like Coco M. but without spending a fortune, the Arabic version is the best option for me.

This perfume is delicious—a perfect blend of sophisticated and elegant.

I love it… I know there are many imitations out there, but when you buy the original, you know it. The effect, the longevity, and the true DNA of the perfume are spectacular. I wear it day and night; it’s intoxicating, sexy, and divine. It’s not sweet or citrusy; I think the combination of its ingredients makes a beautiful scent that dresses you up. Wear it with jeans and you’ll look divine, wear it with an evening gown and it’s still perfect—it’s a total all-rounder. Chanel always surprises, and positively. You have to test it on skin, not on blotting paper, because it changes a lot. The trail it leaves is wonderful…

It was my first citrus perfume, and although it didn’t impress me at all at first, it’s now one of my favorites. People always compliment me, and as it dries down, it becomes super attractive.

I’m a huge fan of sweet perfumes and bought it with that in mind, but it caught me off guard: it smells like talcum powder, way more than I expected. Although it lasts all day, I don’t finish the bottle because the scent bothers me and gives me the willies.
Limalove
It’s curious that the description says citrus because I feel it’s super sweet, probably due to the patchouli. I don’t see it as elegant, but it is pretty. It’s not cloying, but its longevity is enviable—it lasts until the next day.

Every time I run out, I put another on because it smells amazing; it’s one of my forever favorites, I love it ❤️
Elizabeth2004
Thanks to this perfume, I’ve finally developed a taste for citrus notes.
