Time to pay homage to this little guy! Love at first sniff; I didn’t even give myself a chance to smell it twice before buying it. For me, it’s like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. On skin, it develops quickly and amplifies vanilla, coconut, and caramel, enveloping me in a sweet, creamy cloud, extremely feminine despite being unisex. The depth is lost: the leather lasts for seconds, the oud is barely felt, and at 2 hours, it leaves a sweet trail of tonka, coconut, and vanilla that reminds me of perfumed dolls. Is that all? No, wait; hours later, clove and oud resurrect and dance on your nose. Then they return. It develops in capricious trails that surprise you and put you in a trance. Without losing creaminess and gourmand character, it gains darkness and interest. On paper and clothes, it’s more intense, linear, and masculine; leather and woods are more latent. On skin, it lasts 8-9 hours; on clothes, days. Projection is moderate but capricious, making it wearable for warm months. All vanilla lovers know it’s not easy to find this in a vanilla oriental. In short, a fragrance for vanilla gourmand lovers with a small twist. The only downside is the price, which I’m not sure is justified by a scent that isn’t especially innovative. The presentation is good, the quality is too, and it’s worth trying.
To me, this perfume smells like pure marzipan and coconut milk. It’s a super addictive, very lactonic, creamy, and sweet scent. Honestly, the notes don’t match up, except for the coconut and toffee; no oud, leather, or woods at least on my skin. It’s a very different gourmand, perhaps with a tiny hint of the opening from Zara’s Tobacco Collection. It’s worth it more for the current price. Edit: it’s a great perfume, but it ended up tiring me out, so I exchanged it.
To me, it smells like marzipan, pure marzipan and coconut milk. It’s a super addictive scent, very milky, creamy, and sweet. Honestly, the notes don’t match up, except for the coconut and toffee; I don’t detect oud, leather, or woods on my skin. It’s a gourmand distinct from all others, perhaps with a tiny hint of the Tobacco Collection from Zara. It’s worth it, especially at the current price. Update: it’s a good perfume, but it ended up wearing me out, so I switched to something else.
Coconut oil with a floral touch and subtle vanilla, rounded out by leather. Depending on your skin, one note will stand out more than the others. It has a powerful trail that can almost be overwhelming or suffocating, depending on how you look at it. The notes are high quality and very prominent. The musk and woods appear at the end. Personally, I can’t stand it after 30 minutes. Be careful using this bomb. Although its potency makes it better suited for cold climates, in heat it wouldn’t clash if you apply it sparingly, thanks to its tropical scent.
Coconut oil with a floral touch and subtle vanilla; the leather rounds out the aroma. Depending on your skin, some notes stand out over others. It has a pronounced sillage that almost overwhelms or suffocates, depending on how you look at it. High-quality, very marked notes. The musk and woods appear at the end. Personally, I can’t stand it after 30 minutes. Be careful using this bombshell. Although recommended for colder climates due to its potency, it wouldn’t clash in the heat if you dose it much less.
A very edible and delicious gourmand. In the opening, you can slightly detect the oud wood, subtle and playful; it’s not an annoying or very perceptible oud. Then it settles on the skin as vanilla with coconut and another sweet note that could be toffee, a scent like vanilla ice cream or a vanilla-coconut shake. I like gourmands, but this one feels a bit cloying to me and seems more suited for a younger audience, not for me. It’s very well made, balanced, and tasty in just the right measure.
I really liked it. Upon trying it, I noticed it was similar to Montale’s Honey Oud, which feels very masculine; they share notes and the result is quite similar, with ZOV being more feminine. It has a sweetness that isn’t cloying, is quite versatile, and softer than HO. The sillage is moderate and it lasted 5 hours, with the last two hours very close to the skin. It lasts and projects less than HO and costs almost the same here in Chile.
It’s an edible, rich gourmand. At first, there’s a subtle, cheeky hint of oud—nothing annoying or overpowering. Then it settles on the skin as vanilla with coconut and another sweet note, maybe toffee, reminding me of a vanilla coconut ice cream or milkshake. I love gourmands, but this one feels a bit cloying to me; it seems more suited for a younger crowd than for myself. That said, it’s very well-made, balanced, and delicious in just the right measure.
A very sophisticated coconut, nothing gourmand. I bought it because I love gourmand perfumes, but this isn’t that direction; it’s an oriental that perfectly blends everything and highlights the coconut in a very synthetic way. Note: it’s a rich perfume, but the coconut is very synthetic, at least on my skin.
I tried this a while ago and fell in love with it, so when a promo came up, I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I absolutely adore gourmand, floral, and sunny scents, and this has it all. At first, it smells sweet with a floral touch, like coconut and vanilla in a white flower embrace. Then on the skin, it evolves into a lotion-like solar note with a distinctive powdery nuance. I like it, though it could use a bit more punch; sometimes it sounds like a softer, dustier version of Million Parfum, which gives it a mysterious and sexy vibe. It’s super versatile—I enjoy it in summer because it’s sweet without being cloying and doesn’t overwhelm. I think it’s ideal for spring and summer; it would get lost in fall and winter. Perfect for casual or semi-formal dates thanks to that sweet, powdery side that draws me in, and it works in the office due to its cleanliness, though there are better options for that setting. In short, it’s a very pleasant fragrance, but I would have liked more potency. Big hug from Argentina, and I hope you’re all well. Update 17/09/23: I usually don’t update, but this time I did. Almost a year later, I set it aside for a bit, but with the heat, I tried it again and was surprised by the longevity: over 12 hours, and it still projects well. It doesn’t project strongly, but it lasts longer than I remember, so I probably never felt it last this long. Now it smells dustier, floral, and cleaner, with less gourmand, but it remains very pleasant. Greetings from Argentina!
I tried this a while ago and it intrigued me, so I grabbed it during a promotion. I love gourmand, floral, and solar notes, and I think this has it all. Sweet opening with florals, like coconut with vanilla in white flowers. Then on skin, it evolves into a sun lotion with a distinctive powdery touch. I like it, though it lacks punch; sometimes it feels like a One Million Parfum but much softer and dustier, giving it a mysterious, sexy side. It’s versatile—I enjoy it in summer because it’s sweet without being cloying or overwhelming. Ideal for spring and summer; it would get lost in fall/winter. Great for casual or semi-formal dates due to that powdery, sweet vibe, and works in the office for its cleanliness, though there are better options. Verdict: very pleasant, but I’d have liked more potency. Hugs from Argentina. EDIT 09/17/23: I usually don’t update, but this time I did. After almost a year and trying other fragrances, I let it sit. Today, with more heat, I used it again and was surprised by the longevity: over 12 hours and still noticeable. It doesn’t project strongly but lasts longer than I remember; I’m sure I never perceived it this much before. Now I sense it as more powdery, floral, and clean, a bit less gourmand, but still very pleasant. Greetings from Argentina.
I wanted to like it, but… when I tried it in-store, it smelled exactly like the Jean Arthes I’ve had for years (the second comparison in the post). I’m sure head-to-head, this one shows better quality, and the other develops a sharp musk with age. On me, it’s very subtle; the salesperson even told me everyone thinks all the brand’s scents are too discreet for the price. I’m glad I saved my pennies. I expected something more original and sophisticated.
Sweet without being cloying, non-toxic, and performs like luxury in the summer. I grabbed it at a great price and it’s far from gourmand; if you love tropical scents with a sophisticated twist, this is a safe bet. It has good sillage and moderate projection, though your skin’s pH plays a huge role.
