L'Extase by Nina Ricci is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2015, the nose behind this composition is Francis Kurkdjian. • I wasn’t a rose note lover until this perfume changed my mind. It’s not just a fragrance; it’s a spell. Tremendously sensual, sweetly intoxicating, and absolutely refined. I fell so in love that I bought three bottles.

  • To me, L’Extase is a delicious perfume that could be overwhelming on a hot day, but at night or in the cool, it’s perfect and exquisite. It oozes sweet femininity (though anyone who likes it can wear it). It has excellent projection, it’s noticeable, plus great longevity. I really like it.

  • At first, it didn’t fully convince me because the first time I tried it was on a hot day. But I used it again on a cool night, and what a wonder!… I got tons of compliments, and people asked what perfume I was wearing. It has amazing sillage, projects for 12 hours without being overpowering. And it lasts on my skin almost 24 hours. In my opinion, it’s a delicious perfume.

  • CYNTHIA1980

Super feminine and sensual, I loved it, and it projects amazingly. The rose gives it femininity, while the caramel and fruits add a sexy, playful touch. It’s a gem.

  • Reina Amigdala

Very sexy and sophisticated. It reminds me of La Nuit de Tresor, one of my favorites, but slightly more wearable with a more pronounced rose note. I don’t mind wearing heavy perfumes during the day, but this is definitely more tolerable for people around me than La Nuit. Long-lasting with excellent projection.

  • danielaflaca

I like it quite a bit; it’s very similar to Mia Mine’s Halloween, which people say is like Sì, but I find it softer and less sharp, which is why I prefer L’Extase. Without a doubt, I’ll be using this one this winter.

  • I didn’t like it. I read the notes and reviews and was eagerly waiting, but when it arrived and I smelled it… I got nauseous. It’s very strong, overwhelming, and synthetic; not sweet at all, seems unisex. Nina Ricci, you’re down. I’m sticking with the apple scent by a thousand.

  • Yazmin Ortiz

I bought it because people compared it to ‘Sì by Armani,’ but to me, they don’t resemble each other. It has its charm, very sweet, with rose, pear, and caramel notes—a delight. It’s a perfume that gets compliments. The only downside is it lasts about four hours on skin. Still, it’s worth owning.

  • I bought it blindly based on reviews, and yes, it is an exquisite. However, on my skin, the caramel dry-down gets sticky, so it didn’t work for me. Beautiful at the start, sweet, sensual, with a strong and seductive character. It reminded me of my mom, who has two bottles. My mom isn’t old—she’s 37, active, cheerful, and sparkly; it suited her perfectly. I wouldn’t recommend it for people sensitive to sweet scents because the sillage is intense; you feel caramelized. But it’s gorgeous, and I think it’s worth the price.

  • Alcoholic, intoxicating, and explosive—it’s a real temptation. Lasts and projects for ten. I recommend it for cold weather and night; it’s addictive. I haven’t enjoyed a fragrance this much in a long time. Simply stunning!

  • Eli_k_eli

They compare it to Si by Armani, one of my all-time favorites, but to my nose, they’re not alike. Si smells like spiced, sweet, and vanilla grapes, whereas Nina is floral, caramelized, and vanilla without being grape-forward. I don’t recommend buying it thinking it’s a dupe or the same scent.

  • Eli_k_eli

I really liked it, though I wasn’t completely smitten. The roses blend well; at first, you get pear and sweet rose, but as it dries down, it becomes a rich mix of rose, pear, caramel, and vanilla. The tart pear balances the sweetness without being cloying. It’s perfect for spring or fall-winter, feminine and sensual. I was surprised that rose didn’t bother me; I’ll be enjoying it and recommend it to anyone who loves this note.

  • Indeed, it resembles La Nuit de Lancôme but is a more daytime and wearable version—less intense and less long-lasting. It’s a fruity, feminine, and sweet rose without being cloying; a real delight.

  • I don’t find much charm in it and I’m not sure why people say it smells like La Nuit de Lancôme; it has nothing to do with it. It feels heavy to me, the dry-down is unpleasant, and I didn’t like it.

  • Candycandy40

Francis Kurdijan is a rose lover, and here the note is ambered with a liquorish touch. It’s a serious, formal rose—nothing youthful—with a certain acidic edge.

  • I swear I hadn’t seen the L’Extase ad before trying it. I was dying to sample it because, although the description says ‘Floral Amber,’ seeing the caramel, vanilla, and raspberry made me think it would be more gourmand. The note combination intrigued me so much, plus Kurkdjian is one of my favorite perfumers. On the opening, I perfectly detected the balanced candied pear with pepper; nothing cloying. I thought a candied rose would follow, but instead I found… sex. Not the kind of sex that evokes feelings for most people. Just sex, period. More specifically, the scent a woman emits after having sex. There’s no semen or male presence here, just a slightly spicy, spiced vaginal aroma. Yesterday I saw the video, and both the creator and the name made a lot of sense. However, as I imagine the scene with this perfume, in the video I’d make, the woman would be alone in a Parisian hotel room. Naked, messy-haired, and happy on a bed with rumpled sheets. On the bed, someone left a bouquet of roses that’s been there for a few days. Our protagonist gets up but doesn’t shower; she wants to feel the mix of her body scent with the flowers, letting herself be enveloped by that smell. She dresses, steps out into the hallway, and gets into an elevator, smiling dreamily, savoring her memories of the previous night. The man or woman inside the elevator will smell her and want to get closer. She won’t notice, lost in her happy thoughts. The elevator doors open, she puts on her sunglasses, and walks alone and smiling through the bright streets of Paris. Was she with someone last night? Or was she alone? We’ll never know.

  • Caramel, vanilla, a touch of rose, with a woody base. Honestly, it’s delicious but very common—it has zero originality. I bought it because I ran out of Fancy, and it’s super similar. People say Fancy resembles a Lancôme, so in this caramel family, they all resemble each other. I think it’s an exhausted niche, haha.

  • Honestly, I didn’t like it. For now, it’s not a favorite; it doesn’t make me feel represented. It smells quite formal, but the longevity is definitely good.

  • It reminds me of Nuit de Tresor and Fancy… as soon as I put this on, those two perfumes I already own come to mind.

  • It smells super heavy and strong on me, but it fades quickly. I’ll try it in winter since it’s so dense. I don’t detect the rose mentioned in the notes; I have no idea what scent it leaves on my skin.

  • MacaGiuliani

My personal fragrance from 2015 to 2019. I wore it in any weather, though in summer it felt a bit heavy, and one or two sprays were enough. The sillage and projection were incredible. The combination of rose, pear, and caramel on my skin is a bomb. I’ll keep loving it despite being discontinued. Thanks to Kurkdjian for this work of art.

  • Solcitoch16

It’s my personal perfume; I love it. It’s so sweet, super gourmand—or at least that’s how I feel; I feel like a piece of caramel. Perfect for special occasions, just as sexy and attractive as the ad suggests. Fun fact: sometimes when I sweat a little, it releases its sugary scent even stronger, or so it seems on my skin. It’s one of my favorites; longevity is 6 to 8 hours, but the sillage is quite strong, so I only apply a few sprays. Ideal for cold climates; I don’t recommend it on hot days as it can be a bit dizzying.

  • CamiAckerman

L’Extase is very similar to Nuit de Tresor in the opening—quite sweet—but as it evolves, the sweetness disappears entirely. What remains is a scent of rose and incense, slightly powdery, very much in the style of Chanel No. 5. I recommend testing it on skin before buying blindly. If you like the Chanel No. 5 style, you might like this; it resembles that more than it does Tresor.

  • Excellent perfume; I wish I could wear it all the time. It’s not for daily use, but rather for going out in autumn and winter after 7 PM. It’s elegant, super sexy, and erotic. A floral oriental gourmand with sweet roses and a tart twist I wouldn’t have bought if I’d read the notes first—I thought the same. But it doesn’t resemble anything else, even though they put everything in every bottle. Is it the benzoin or the amber? I don’t know; it’s a pure delight that makes me feel great and super original. Try it, but it’s not for everyone.

  • Excellent. I love this super sexy, feminine floral oriental; it radiates power and dominance. It’s a classic for dominant, confident women. It’s my current favorite from Nina Ricci; I always thought it was the first edition, but L’Extase captivated me. I found out it’s discontinued—what a shame, why? There’s so much muguet… what happened? If modern perfumery keeps discontinuing fragrances, what are we going to wear next? Fatal.

This perfume is only enjoyable in cold weather. I bought it blindly in summer, and it was a no for me. I don’t mind roses, but here they overpower because it’s a balsamic rose, as if soaked in resins. In winter, that balsamic note recedes slightly to let the others shine; it becomes sweeter, enjoyable, caramelized, and ambered. But if you don’t like roses, it’s impossible to wear, as that’s the most persistent note. In its dry-down, it smells deliciously vanilla, amber, and sweet, without losing that powdery rose touch. I didn’t get to try the patchouli, though it might contribute to that earthy, balsamic rose smell I described.

  • Persefonex

On my skin, the opening smells like rotten roses—old and unwashed, like those older ladies with heavy makeup and dirty blonde hair who perfume themselves to cover up their grime. Then it fades into a talc-heavy rose, more bearable but still feeling ancient. It’s just rose in different shades. For me, it’s a no. It’s overly feminine, like those heroines in 21st-century English novels: rose from start to finish, like women who only cooked and embroidered, barred from many activities. I prefer something else.

  • Perfumania77

Perfect for autumn and winter; it’s powerful yet doesn’t feel sweet despite the vanilla and caramel. During the day, you can really notice the evolution of the notes. On me, rose and caramel dominate, and when the scent fades slightly, it intensifies again! It lingers on the pillowcase, and even after showering, the notes keep coming out. It’s different from anything else on the market today. What a shame it’s discontinued; if you get the chance, you won’t regret it.

  • Paula.Vejarm

Extremely sensual; I love it. The opening is fresh and sweet with a distinct peach note, followed by a deep rose and mysterious sweet notes that make it a true gem. It lasts about 9 hours on my skin, and many gentlemen have complimented it. An excellent investment.

  • LauraCarolina123

I was blown away! It’s sweet but never cloying, incredibly versatile, and exceeded my expectations for longevity. Totally ready to become my signature scent.

  • I bought it blindly based on the notes and reviews, but it’s a resounding no. It smells like an elderly lady. I can’t find the sexy vibe, and the rose scent is more like aged rose. Definitely don’t buy it blindly.

  • username21

From this Nina line, I have Rose Extase, Chant d’Extase, and L’Extase. For me, the last one is very lovely; moderate performance and projection. The opening can be intense for some noses, but the dry down isn’t cloying. I think it’s beautiful for cold days. Always test on skin, as what is moderate on one person can become intense on another.

  • I was looking for something sweet for the cold months and tried several fragrances from the Master, but this one didn’t work for me. It’s pretty, feminine, and flirty, but if you don’t like sweet fruity scents, you won’t fall in love with it. On my skin, the raspberry and peach stand out too much; it turns cloying and less sexy than people say. Longevity and sillage are good, but not spectacular. If you like this type of aroma, test it on your skin before buying.

  • Fernanda52

I love it! It looks spectacular on me, sweet and sophisticated. Extreme longevity for cold weather, ideal performance that evolves throughout the day. Don’t miss out.

  • I hate it. It’s very strong, vintage style. Don’t buy it blindly. It reminds me of Si by the intensity, not the fragrance. I don’t feel anything similar to Nuit de Tresor, which I absolutely love.

  • They gave it to me. I hesitated to keep it. I opened it and couldn’t identify with it; it smelled like an older lady, a nineties scent, and nothing current. I gave it to my mom and she loved it; it lasts a long time on her, but it’s not for me.

  • Candycandy40

It’s a mature rose with vintage touches that takes some getting used to at first, but it sweetens with time. Not for young girls. Ideal for cold weather with great performance; in the heat, it can be overwhelming. They say it’s discontinued, what a shame. Very good from Kurkdjian and comes in an old-style pouch, very cool.

  • Resistirern1832

It feels sweet, refined, and delicate; not too strong or retro. I wore it during autumn and winter in the daytime. The longevity is moderate, and I liked it.

  • GabyMartellotta

I love it! I save it for special occasions. I tried to buy another bottle and was told it’s discontinued. Does anyone have info? I’m obsessed.

  • Only Francis Kurkdjian could create this talc-dusted, playful, and sweet rose that is elegant and sexy in perfect balance. It might sound vintage to some, but it’s a jewel that’s unfortunately discontinued.
