  I have ‘Mohraf’ and ‘Rose d’Arabie’ testing on each arm, and for me, they don’t resemble each other at all. ‘Mohraf’ has a very smoky opening, reminiscent of tobacco (I’m not sure what notes blend to make my nose perceive it this way), while ‘Rose d’Arabie’ opens with an aromatic woody vibe with slight fresh mint touches, probably from the blend of patchouli and oud. Of the two, ‘Rose d’Arabie’ is the more potent. In both, the rose never makes an appearance on my skin; it’s very strange for me, since I’m a rose perfume fanatic, and in these two, I don’t perceive or enjoy the rose at all. Both end up purely woody, but they definitely have nothing to do with each other, even though both contain oud—they must be very different varieties.

  Smoky roses, roses, and more smoky roses: you definitely have to love them, but for me, it’s a resounding no. The oud wood gives it an immense weight that never fades. After hours, the flowers join the mix, and everything remains overwhelmingly heavy. I couldn’t take it; not even a shower could remove the scent, which left me with a headache and nausea, yet it lingers as fresh from the bottle. From the very start, it hits the nose hard. For those who adore these aromas, the only good note is that it lasts more than two days on skin and clothes—even after washing, it’s still there for days.
