Smells just like the Zadig one (which Zara had already copied) but with a sweeter or stronger touch; in fact, I like this one more, even though it’s not new. It lasts much longer and has great sillage.

First review here in years, trusting opinions from perfume lovers. I bought this at Zara on Passeig de Gràcia yesterday. It shares the DNA of the original Red Temptation but takes a completely different path from the very first minute. The sandalwood reminds me of Santal 33, but it will never be a dupe, NEVER. Red Temptation Sandalwood is warm, sweet, and spicy; the iris and violet give it a spectacular talc-like character, a necessary balance. This smells luxurious, opulent, and sensual. It works for day and night, but it’s an enemy of heat. I like it more than Santal 33; that one is too sharp for me, and I only see it on men if they don’t over-spray. I absolutely love it: super sensual, luxurious, addictive, long-lasting, and constantly evolving.

Reminds me a lot of Energetically New York from the Vibrant Cities collection by Jo Malone for Zara. Very prominent sandalwood. Very unisex. Since I already have the other one, I didn’t feel the need to buy this.

  • Curious, not for everyone. Smells like a floral-sweet Red Temptation with a hint of white pepper and synthetic sandalwood. It’s missing something to give it a fresh texture throughout the dry down. I won’t compare it to Grey Charnel since I don’t know that one. It’s obvious, lasts quite a few hours. Helps that it’s a 35% extrait. Worth a look.

Wow wow wow. I gifted this perfume to my girlfriend and today it’s one of my favorites. Although it tries to say it’s Baccarat Rouge with Santal 33, I don’t think it’s either one or the other. In my opinion, it’s a new perfume, very warm, very sexy, very gourmand. Yes, sandalwood and spices, but with the iris that sweetens it. I’d say it’s the perfume a woman would wear to go out at night to a party and steal all the looks. It lasts a long time and eats up the room where it is. I was wearing my perfume and I couldn’t stop noticing her scent. It’s a beast mode, in my opinion. And even, I would like to wear it myself.

  • A creamy sandalwood with iris and spices. The BCR DNA peeks through sometimes, especially at the start, but it doesn’t take center stage on my skin. If it weren’t for the name, I probably wouldn’t think it belongs to the Red Temptation line. The million-dollar question: Does it smell like our beloved Gris Charnel? Answer: Yes, quite a bit, but not the same. 100% unisex. Perfect for autumn-winter. Moderate projection, lasts about 6-7 hours on skin. Incredible value for money.

  • I’d say it’s not easy to understand because of the iris, but… delicious to the point of no return, it seems like a mix between Baccarat and Santal 33, with iris like steroids. Once you understand it, you love it with passion, and that reflects… sexual passion, of how sexy it is. 😍

It’s a delight: creamy, calm, yet sensual sandalwood. I searched a lot for an aroma like this and couldn’t find it. I tried it in-store and it captivated me. Good sillage and it lasted on my hair until the next day. I’m not sure if it’s for daily wear, maybe just one spray to give a ‘second skin’ effect; more would be tiring. I don’t see it for the office, except with very subtle use. It seems more feminine than unisex. It’s truly beautiful. Edit: it has a powdery fig note after a few hours, on waves it reminds me of Pacifica’s Mediterranean Fig. I confirm it’s not for every day, but I still find it beautiful.

I don’t have the pleasure of knowing the BDK Gris Charnel, they mention it as a reference, but I have Mussaman White Intense and that’s enough. Today I tried Red Temptation Sandalwood from Zara and it was like finding a long-lost twin. It’s not a poorly made copy or a forced attempt; it’s an exact coincidence. Mussaman White Intense and Red Temptation Sandalwood are, in practice, the same story with a different bottle. Same soft and creamy tone, same warm sandalwood base wrapped in amber, that veil that doesn’t impose itself but also doesn’t yield. No surprises, just certainty: sometimes two perfumes cross paths at the same point on the map.

Today I received my sample of Gris Charnel to compare it with this Zara one. They have a super similar vibe. The Zara one has a metallic note and the Gris doesn’t; it’s the most synthesized difference possible. The sandalwood is the same. The Zara highlights the iris more, while the Gris emphasizes the spiced cardamom. Edit: it has become one of my favorites. I bought two samples of Gris and this Zara one I like even more. It’s not as fruity as the Gris, but it’s sweeter and denser, projecting much more. My Charnel doesn’t last :/. I ordered Liam by Lattafa to finish off this DNA, but I don’t think it will surpass the Zara. I already ordered a refill because I don’t want anyone to take it away. Conclusion: it’s not worth the original with that price. Even if it’s not the same, the Zara lasts, projects great, and smells super cool.

Finally received my Gris Charnel sample today to compare it with this Zara one. They have a super similar vibe. The Zara has a metallic note that the Gris doesn’t. That’s the most summarized difference. The sandalwood is the same, but Zara highlights the iris-like side more, while the Gris shows more of the spicy cardamom. Edit: it has become one of my favorite perfumes. I bought two samples of Gris Charnel, but I still like the Zara one even more. It’s not as fruity as the Gris, but sweeter and denser. It projects way more. My Charnel doesn’t last on me :/. I already ordered Liam by Lattafa to complete this fragrance DNA, but I don’t think it will surpass the Zara. I’ve already ordered a refill, just in case they pull it from the market. Conclusion: the original isn’t worth the price. Even if it’s not identical, the Zara lasts, projects amazingly, and the scent is super cool.

  • What a wonderful fragrance. I met it a couple of months ago and fell in love completely. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying BDK’s Gris Charnel, so I don’t know how similar they are. It features sandalwood as the main star, which blends beautifully with violet and iris, creating a fusion of powdery and creamy notes. You can also detect the ambergris in the base that adds sweetness. If you love the sandalwood note, this is a must-have to add to your collection.

  • Super amazing perfume, enveloping, powerful, and seductive. Warm, a bit wintery, it goes perfectly with thick coats, scarves, and polar beanies for the snow. I find it interesting; that sandalwood is deadly. Longevity and projection are eternal, it soaks into clothes and hair. I met it this year and I’d dare say it’s the best from Zara.

The opening of Red Temptation Sandalwood seemed pleasant and fresh with the sandalwood, easy and with a good first impression. But after a couple of minutes on skin, it changed completely: it became very synthetic, with a chemical note I didn’t enjoy, a dry, earthy, and slightly dirty base that makes it feel weird. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but Zara has better options, so I was disappointed. Good opening, but the development on skin didn’t work.

  • I met this today and it made my favorites list immediately. The sandalwood is intense with a floating incense touch, and the longevity and sillage are huge; the quality-to-price ratio is excellent.
