Instant Crush by Mancera is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this composition was created by perfumer Pierre Montale. The top notes feature saffron and ginger, which converse with Sicilian mandarin and Sicilian bergamot. The heart reveals Amberwood accompanied by Moroccan rose, Egyptian jasmine, and Indonesian patchouli leaves. To finish, the base notes unfold Madagascar vanilla, white musk, sandalwood, and oakmoss.

  • It’s a FANTASTIC scent. It definitely brings back memories of BR540 but takes its own path. That resinous and floral note gives it its own personality. It lasts on my skin for about 10-11 hours, projecting for the first 4 but still noticeable throughout. It’s one of the perfumes I use when I know I have a long day ahead. One of the best from Mancera, 100% recommended.

  • Wow, what a Mancera perfume. I clearly detect saffron and ginger in the opening, followed by a citrus that’s bathed in creamy vanilla. Although it’s not declared, on the dry down I get a hint of burnt sugar. It definitely reminds me of Baccarat Rouge 540; I own it and have worn it wrist-to-wrist with Instant Crush, and I like this one much more, with brutal longevity, an incredible trail, and massive projection. For me, it’s an autumn/winter or nighttime scent. Although it’s unisex… I see it as a bit more feminine. Without a doubt, a purchase I’ll repeat.

  • DrakesHub

One of my favorite perfumes, but honestly, it’s quite feminine and could be mistaken for a women’s scent, so I don’t use it much for that reason. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly if you don’t like this type of very unisex aroma.

  • Smells like Ginger Ale: not suitable for people who aren’t risk-takers. It’s a perfume for those brave enough to explore the unisex side of perfumery. It’s very rich, yes, but also very intense, so be careful not to over-spray. In my case, I live in a warm climate so I don’t wear it often because it’s risky; when I do, I stick to two sprays max since the fragrance is so intense. Pros: It’s a scent you definitely won’t find on others around you; personally, aside from me, I haven’t smelled it on anyone else. It’s quite intense, so it requires few sprays, which means it lasts a long time. Plus, it comes in 120ml, which is generous. In my opinion, it’s a fairly versatile scent; I’d use it daily with light application, but its strength lies in casual outings or parties. The quantity-to-price ratio is quite good; it’s rare to get 120ml at this price point, so that’s a big plus. Cons: Being so intense, it can easily overwhelm, especially in warm climates like mine, so you need to control it carefully in the heat. I don’t know about others, but personally, the ginger stands out too much. Before researching the notes, I thought it smelled like gin. After looking it up, I realized why—it actually has ginger, and personally, it reminds me a lot of that drink. It can be worn in the heat, but personally, it feels weirdly sticky on the skin, so I prefer applying it to fabric or between fabric and skin.

  • This perfume has a powerful opening; don’t buy it blindly and it’s not for anyone under 35. On the dry down, I get rum with vanilla, probably due to the spicy notes; the ginger feels very potent in the opening. On my skin, the longevity is forever, and on clothes, needless to say. It’s not a daily wear unless you use half a spray. Trail and projection are 10/10.

  • soledadbt

I love this perfume; the scent is rich and pleasant. It has a spectacular trail and lasts all day, at least on my skin and clothes, no need to say more. It’s sweet but not cloying, slightly powdery, and the smell isn’t very common—you’ll definitely get compliments. When I run out, I’ll definitely buy another.

In a few years, people will say this is what 2020 smelled like. Though I think that grating, half-sweet half-acidic saffron—which they claim is unisex but smells masculine to me—is already on its way out. It’s still everywhere, with copies and all kinds of Baccarat Rouge-inspired clones like this Instant Crush by Mancera. It’s an affordable option with nuclear performance if you dig this vibe. I’ve always been puzzled by the mainstream success of this recipe, but something must be going on if so many people have fallen for it.

  • What can I say? It was love at first sniff; I loved it from the first time I smelled it, that ginger kick.

  • One of my favorite Manceras for a long time; I find it fantastic. Great performance, amazing trail, and very flattering wherever you go. A good scent for intermediate to cold temperatures. I love how the notes are assembled, especially as they evolve on the skin—it’s a perfume delight.

Well. Finally. I’m in the process of incorporating this type of sweet and metallic fragrances into my collection. I had Red Temptation and couldn’t handle it; the dry down was too milky… I tried Burberry Her and its acerbic opening won me over, but the dry down felt the same as RD… After reading reviews of perfumes in this particular style, I came across INSTANT CRUSH and wow!!! I bought a 10ml decant… What an addictive, durable, candy-like, caramelized, and particular thing… It leaves traces wherever you go and you can tell it has that different touch… That I-don’t-know-what… Not for blind buys.

  • Adri Zavala

I started obsessing over Instant Crush perfumes and it went on my wishlist (without knowing it). Years later, I finally bought a decant, and I’m going to say I wouldn’t buy the full bottle because the saffron-amberwood-ambroxan DNA got on my nerves. To my nose, while it’s unisex, I feel it’s more masculine (especially compared to BR540 dupes), with a fresher opening due to the bergamot and more aromatic/spicy with the ginger and saffron. I also feel it’s woody, and it’s during the dry down that I like it most (after the first 3 hours, when its intensity drops and it becomes sweeter on skin). Great projection; on my skin, it lasts over 12 hours. Totally recommended for performance! Be careful with sprays; it can be very invasive. Not suitable for blind buys, and personally, it has a synthetic part that doesn’t fully convince me… Still, it’s a great perfume, but not for me…

  • Just like the song. This was definitely an Instant Crush for me 😍 I tried it in a decant and obviously bought the bottle. It’s unisex leaning feminine, ideal for cold weather. Its intense opening is very saffrony, evolving into something sweet, subtle, and elegant. It lasts until the next day on skin, and the dry down on clothes is even more durable.

  • This perfume broke my heart 🙁 I loved it when I smelled it in the store and bought it without a second thought; the first few times I used it, it still seemed beautiful, and then I don’t know what happened—it acquired a very unpleasant metallic note that ruined the scent. It wasn’t ruined, but it’s nothing like the scent that fell in love with me. Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Antonmorales

A fragrance that doesn’t leave anyone indifferent, very easy to like at first, with a lot of body and projects like crazy; two sprays seem excessive to me. The saffron gave me dizziness and a headache, maybe because I’m not immersed in sweet perfumes, but I must say it’s extremely sweet, only for the brave. I feel it’s unisex, even leaning towards feminine.

  • Gian Arévalo

It’s the DNA all women are obsessed with lately (except Cloud by Ariana Grande in CDMX), and it’s getting on my nerves. It’s a niche with bitter citrus, a plastic saffron that confuses with ethyl maltol, and very synthetic vanilla. Call me crazy, but sometimes, after many hours, I get that unpleasant vanilla-like smell from Bharara King, only in the sillage. It’s not a bad perfume, but it’s no longer news. If you’re obsessed with the DNA, use it; it projects and lasts well, it’s a double-edged sword. Anyway, try it; it’s superior quality, but I’m sticking with Thomas Kosmala, luckily I could get rid of my bottle.

  • Josué González Céspedes

It has plastic-like sensations, likely due to unbalanced ethyl maltol. Although it resembles BR540, it reminds me quite a bit of the dry down of my Cloud Pink. It lasts forever, projects little, but has a luxurious sillage. To my nose, most Mancera scents are aggressive and rough; they have a patchouli in the dry down that I absolutely hate.

  • No filters: ignore the complainers. This Mancera Insta Crush is a masterpiece. Yes, it resembles Baccarat Rouge 540, but it’s not a copy—it’s the masculine version of that scent, and the distinguishing notes are very noticeable, giving it a super masculine touch. Buy it blind; it’s incredible.

  • If I had to define it in one word: ‘Sweet’. In two: ‘Super sweet’. Instant Crush is a beauty from Mancera that combines notes culminating in an exquisite shot of sugar. The opening doesn’t grab much attention and might make you doubt the hype. But as it dries down, the sweet magic explodes, captivating you instantly. Regarding comparisons with Baccarat, I think it’s misguided. Do they have similarities? Yes, the amberwood in the heart gives a distinctive sweetness, but that’s it. Reducing Instant Crush to ‘copying the BR540 DNA’ is incongruous and disrespectful. Anyone who knows both fragrances will understand. Conclusion: highly recommended for those who enjoy sugar, literally.

  • I’ve been looking for this for a long time because they say it’s very similar to Baccarat… omg, what a surprise! What a delightful perfume. Love at first sight. If you like sweet and bold perfumes, this is for you.

  • Very good perfume, one of the sweetest I own. People say it’s similar to Baccarat Rouge 540, but since I didn’t have that, I bought Club de Nuit Untold because they say it’s a similar dupe. Upon smelling it, yes, it’s similar, but Untold is sweeter, almost cloying; Instant Crush is less sweet. You can tell the difference in quality. It has nothing to do with Baccarat other than that; it goes in a more sophisticated, clean, and less cloying direction. When dry, it’s softer but still sweet. Great for sweet perfume lovers. If you like them and want to buy blind, you won’t regret it.

  • I tested it as a decant and hated it. I smelled a horrible, cheap men’s perfume scent (I gave the decant away). Later, I tried it in-store thinking the decant had gone ‘off,’ but the sensation was the same. I don’t know what happened with a perfume I should have loved. What a shame, because I was dying to try it. The person I gave the decant to absolutely loved it, proving that taste is subjective. Do not buy blind!

  • Diego678

Unisex, easy to like, and sexy; perfect for both cold and warm weather. In the cold, use more sprays; in the heat, 3 are enough. It smells like flowers and a rich, sweet vanilla. I tested it as a decant and loved it, but when I bought the bottle from Dubai Luxury in Chile, I was disappointed. It might need more maceration (though I doubt it) or they reformulated. Mine, batch 24A6J296C, projects little and lasts an hour. Such a pity; I’ll have to sell it. It’s a good daily perfume, ideal for people under 25. Once dry, it smells metallic, like wilted flowers, with a very subtle skin sillage after 5 hours. Scent: 8.5. Projection: good. Longevity: under 25 hours. Price: 90, one of the better ‘niche’ entry-level options, no fail.

  • I think it’s very unisex, though with very fine nuances. In the end, I gifted it to my mom. The scent is rich, evoking someone clean, although it made her dizzy due to its intensity. I find it versatile, though I personally prefer wearing it in the heat. 8/10.

  • Facundo Vaisblat

Ideal if you’re looking to buy blind for Instant Crush. If you like unisex perfumes and sweet scents, you’ll definitely enjoy this. For me, it was a blind buy with zero regrets. It’s quite unisex, maybe slightly more feminine, but it works perfectly on men too. A reference I know is Club de Nuit Untold; they aren’t identical but follow the same vibe. If you liked that, you’ll probably love this.

  • Nikolas Escaffi

I love it every time I smell it; it’s incredible and totally worth buying blind. It reminds me a lot of Baccarat.

  • paulinardz_v

Watch out for the number of sprays because it’s strong and can overwhelm people. My advice: max 5.

YouTube: Newmoon Parfums – Instagram: Newmoon Parfums – TikTok: Newmoon Parfums. Easy to use, super dense and bombastic, it bathes rooms and leaves a tremendous trail, at the level of Mancera’s Beast Mode like Cedrat Boise or Red Tobacco. I have a lot of affection for the house; I started with Cedrat Boise and Red Tobacco and they pleasantly surprised me with performance. Instant Crush doesn’t fall behind and is part of my top 3, although the house has forgettable perfumes. It opens with the tingle of ginger and citrus that lasts minutes, eclipsed by oriental spices. Many feel it like cotton candy; I’d say unroasted caramel, like fairground apples. The sweetness with an amber sensation reminds me of that. The wood gets muted by the extreme sweetness, with a musky base and very present vanilla. Brutal longevity: 16 hours, I can feel it on clothes days later. Sillage of 6 hours, don’t abuse it. It doesn’t bother others. Pros: about 6 sprays and you’re good until night; despite the price, the 120ml lasts long enough to gift; they’ll notice where you are. Cons: many have the same Baccarat Rouge DNA, you lose the surprise; there are cheap Arab dupes that get very close; very unisex with low versatility, in summer you’re a killer if you use it. Fragrance: 7/10, Longevity: 10/10, Projection: 10/10, Compliments: 7/10, Total: 8.5/10.

  • Alberto Brarda

I bought it four years ago with high expectations and it disappointed me. It wasn’t for me. I’d try it from time to time to see if I’d fall in love or just let it oxidize, but nothing changed and it ended up in oblivion. Yesterday I saw it in a corner and tested it on my hand: surprise. It had become warmer, woodier, and with more vanilla. Although they recommend five sprays, I think two are enough. Not everyone needs to knock people over; everyone applies what they like. We all perceive it differently. After so much time, its maceration made it ideal for cold days: warm, woody with a non-gourmand vanilla sweetness. I liked it, but it wasn’t love at first sight.

  • My daughter bought it and it’s magnificent. A sweet floral aroma, hard to define. It doesn’t fill rooms, but houses. It’s a beast mode: it lasts and projects all day. It’s better perfumed than the Red Tobacco I own. I think it’s more feminine, but I would wear it perfectly. Definitely for winter.

  • Many say it copies Baccarat Rouge, but its genius is being a wordplay. It shares saffron, jasmine, and amberwood, but your skin’s pH defines the chords. The perfumer adds ginger, bergamot, and rose so that, depending on the pH, it evokes either BR or Arabian Tonka. Bergamot prevents it from always sounding like BR, while vanilla and tonka add sweetness. Arabian Tonka perhaps was born inspired by BR, mixing roses and saffron over tonka and oud resins. Perfumery is art and emotions; using known ideas to surprise is valid. Its value depends on how you atomize it for the occasion.

  • At first, it reminds me of Baccarat Rouge, but in the dry down it turns into something sweeter and warmer. It’s a fantastic perfume and, best of all, it doesn’t smell like the cheap dupes you’ll smell everywhere. Don’t buy it blindly, but it deserves a 20/10.

  • Very versatile and moderate compared to the other six from the house. It’s unisex, subtle, cozy, and elegant. On my skin, it smells like vanilla and talc. The website references don’t fit: Baccarat Rouge 540 is very different, more harmonious, and without olfactory fatigue. It’s also not similar to Arabian Tonka, although they share notes. Arabian is more masculine, a scandalous and sensual bomb; Instant Crush is slightly feminine, sexy, and elegant. Both are attractive.

  • Yes, it reminds me a lot of BR by MFK. They aren’t clones or distant cousins, but the connection is strong. Saffron is the star, and honestly, I hate it, so it didn’t give me an instant crush. Alongside the saffron, there are hidden citrus and ginger notes. Then flowers and non-sticky resins appear, as if the wood is releasing its essence. Soft and pleasant. Vanilla takes over quickly, replacing the saffron. In the dry down, it’s vanilla, resinous, and woody, very pleasant. The opening is strident, fresh, and sparkling; the dry down is warm, sweet, and deep. Very evolving, unisex, and versatile. Better for moderate climates and informal settings. Not for me due to the opening, but I understand it’s easy and special, optimal for beginners in niche perfumery.

  • I chose Instant Crush for New Year’s Eve and it was a total hit. Intense, elegant, and it carried all night without fading. Sweet-ambery from the start, it grabs attention and projects confidence without being overpowering. It stands out easily in festive settings, perfect for closing the year in style. By midnight, it becomes warmer and creamier while keeping its identity. It doesn’t fade, leaving a firm and recognizable trail until dawn. Brutal performance: high longevity and significant sillage, ideal for long events. Even with close projection, it stays strong. Perfect for special nights: modern, intense, and flawless.
