I don’t understand how people note it as sweet, creamy, playful, and youthful. I’m not that young, but I like sweet, sparkling, and gourmand perfumes. I bought it as a decant because I wanted to change my style or have one for an elegant, formal night out. And here’s how I feel: elegant, formal, exotic, distinguished, and even masculine. Something similar happens with Hypnotic Poison (I also bought a decant); I notice it’s very similar, impossible to wear. So much so that both make my nose itch and give me headaches. Definitely not for me. I wanted to like it, but this spicy, spiced floral style just doesn’t work with my skin or my style. I can’t see myself wearing this perfume all day. What a pity. Edit after a month: I’m absolutely in love with it. I can’t stop dreaming about having it in my collection. It was just a matter of giving it time and using it enough. It seems to be one of the sexiest and most sensual things I’ve ever tried. A personal elixir for a woman determined to conquer a man, the night, the world. Edit after months: I’m still in love with it. It even seems to me an extremely sensual and erotic perfume. It has nocturnal and exotic notes that could only be compared to animalistic chords. I love it deeply.

  • To me, it smells like medicine. I would never wear something like that, with apologies to the fans. Zero delicate. I don’t like it!

  • Here’s the summary: a sexy mature woman’s scent that feels attracted to young people, but with this scent, it only attracts older gentlemen. Too mature, too elegant to the point of being vintage. I hate smelling with these vibes. Not for me.

  • I’ve given it chances and it’s overwhelming; it gives me headaches, maybe it’s the neroli or I don’t know. It doesn’t smell bad, it’s just a different scent. I’d recommend it for winter and night; I don’t think it’s wise to use it in the heat since it’s heavy. I recommend smelling it before buying.

  • Minimalister

I like it but I don’t like it. The opening was amazing, seemed elegant and different, but as it dries it becomes too sweet, though still striking; it’s no longer elegant. The ginger spice fades and leaves a jasmine base with lots of sweetness and patchouli.

  • L’Interdit Rouge by Givenchy presents itself as a warm white floral with a touch of sandalwood, emitting originality, elegance, and beauty. It’s a very well-crafted creation that evolves fascinatingly as it dries. Far from being a conventional white floral, it dares to explore a particular, bold, and striking path, making it a surprising choice. In my opinion, this approach is spot-on and makes it stand out. It leaves no one indifferent; it’s sexy and eye-catching, excellent for making an impression. Although it’s for women, in my opinion, it suits both genders, making it more versatile.

  • It’s for night occasions, very sensual, sexy, and captivating. No man hasn’t told me how charming and sexy this perfume is; it’s a sweet sandalwood with white roses, but only for night wear.

  • Mitafragance

At first, I called it ‘the one that smells like pepper’ and it grossed me out, but now I see that touch is exactly what makes it special. It’s a perfume with a lot of personality; I celebrate those rebellious ginger and pepper notes, and my boyfriend loves them.

  • To my taste, a totally winter aroma. It has a fresh and spicy opening due to the ginger and orange; soon the scent turns warm and enveloping. It’s mysterious, with a darkness of very elegant sensuality.

  • Captivating fragrance, it never goes unnoticed. I tested it on my skin and my dad loved it. It’s sweet in the opening, but with a well-marked ginger touch. It has very good projection and longevity too: about 8/9 hours on skin and lasts days on clothes. There are aspects that make me unsure if I want to keep it: 1. Its high price; a 35 ml bottle costs $100 (at that price in Argentina you could buy two Arabic fragrances or even I bought a niche perfume at Edición Privée that came out cheaper and had the same amount). 2. It’s too massified; yes, I know there are people who don’t mind, but in the area where I work I feel people walking with the same fragrance, and on top of that, a calisthenics girl uses it all the time, which depresses me. Although I know many people wear mass-market fragrances, I prefer not to run into them and wear something more original. 3. In its dry down, it has a smell of chocolate “Pepitos” cookie that can’t get any worse. So it goes from being an intriguing, sexy, attractive, and enigmatic fragrance to being the typical cloying, greasy chocolate dessert so often seen in current perfumery.

Hello, hope you’re having a great day. I’m back to leave a review on one of my favorite lines. As I’ve said before, beyond the marketing, if a fragrance likes us, we just have to enjoy it. This is my favorite from the line of all the ones I’ve tried; I feel it suits my skin and personality very well. The opening feels fresh, like a juice of sweet oranges mixed with cherries, even though it’s not listed. As minutes pass, I start to feel a spicy, sparkling hint from the ginger. In the heart phase, it darkens a bit; I get a sensation of slightly bitter chocolate with dry spicy touches from the black pepper leaf, which feels drier and has a slight green note, yet reminds me of a spicy red pepper. That sensation continues into the dry down, but the chocolate fades to the background without disappearing completely; the main role goes to a creamy woody sensation provided by the sandalwood, something earthy due to the vetiver and patchouli, always with a sweet but not overwhelming base. I find it dynamic, very attractive, with significant development and well-marked stages. I’m enjoying it now in summer, though I think it will shine brightest during transition periods: summer to autumn and winter to spring. Regarding occasions, I think it works very well for semi-formal events and dates, as it has mysterious facets that give it sensuality. Finally, longevity and projection: on my skin, while this line isn’t a bomb, it can reach a medium-high projection at the beginning and then settle to a moderate distance for most of the time, with an average longevity of about 7 hours. For now, it’s my favorite from this line, and I hope many dare to try it and enjoy it as much as I do. Greetings from Argentina.

  • Very potent; the opening is spicy and that’s what I dislike the least, perhaps because I generally don’t like ginger, but it was a gift. Once it dries down, it leaves a pleasant, attractive, mysterious scent—I’d even say sexy due to the neroli. It has a peculiar smell, probably from the black pepper leaves. I don’t recommend buying it blindly, but give it a chance; in the end, it won me over, even though I initially leaned more toward Absolu (the black one).

  • An aroma that doesn’t quite fit with me, I think it’s the ginger note. I have Linterdit Absolu and I’m thrilled with it, so if this happens to anyone else, I suggest they try this other one instead.

  • Mayitaperfums

This is my favorite perfume 😍. Full of mystery, its scent is captivating, addictive, and exquisite. It feels very woody, but it’s a sweet woody scent, perfect for cold days.

  • I’ve had this for years and I struggle to wear it to work. It’s really for gifting to someone who loves the nightlife club scene; it’s made for that, not for dinner, movies, casual outings, or romantic dates, let alone work. It’s very night-specific and for specific use. It’s much darker and more sensual than Carolina’s Shoe.

  • I’m buying it for the second time. The first time I liked it more; now the black pepper leaf note bothers me. Looking back, I would have chosen Absolu. For @ayerai. I’m 47: one of the men who told me I smelled super sexy was 27, while the one who said I smelled bad was 47…

  • valeflores_m

Beautiful and different, but not what I expected. I thought it would be darker, but on my skin it’s fresh, smelling like Mentholatum with a sweet touch. I like it, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. The longevity is incredible.

  • florenciaprossi

I love it, but it’s hard to know when to wear it. In Argentina, there’s Cher Onyx Elixir, which is very similar but more wearable. This one is strictly for cold weather, night out, dancing, or bars; don’t wear it to dinner, it’s too much.

  • At first, a vibrant touch of ginger dominates with a subtle citrus nuance. Then, delicate sweet flowers emerge, giving way to a base of creamy woods. The dry down leaves a mentholated and sweet sensation that envelops with character. I recommend testing it before buying and moderating the sprays, as it’s an intense scent with a strong presence.

  • Sexy, sensual, and sexual 💋, an aphrodisiac bomb that smells completely different from anything I’ve tried. It won’t be the most versatile one I own, but it’s the one I like to save for special occasions, mainly nighttime and when it’s cold. I come from the original L’Interdit, the classic, which I like but doesn’t fully convince me because I find it a bit “stuffy” and serious for my taste. The Rouge, on the other hand, is a younger, more mischievous version that I matched with instantly. I love it! It’s fire and sin in a bottle 🔥

  • veronicacastrello

I don’t like it; it reminds me of an older woman. I bought it blindly and gave it away. Its scent is very strong.

  • Every time I wear Interdit Rouge, people compliment it. It’s addictive; I even want to kiss myself. It’s so sexy!!

  • juliaguilera

I understand why many women like it, but it’s disgusting!!!! The blend of sandalwood and patchouli is an explosion in the worst way, super bitter, and it gives me a headache 😭

  • Raskolnikova

Delicious, it’s like a concentrated glühwein, but that’s its problem because it can be too potent. It doesn’t go unnoticed; I recommend it for cold climates and open spaces, but you can end up tiring out the people around you.

  • Araceli S.

The pepper makes me sneeze when I first spray it, haha, but I love it. If I wear it during the day, I mix it with Givenchy Irresistible to tone down the heat, but if I’m going out at night for a date with a fresh vibe… I use it alone… it’s so delicious! People have complimented it, it’s amazing, and three sprays are enough; don’t overdo it because it can be overwhelming.

  • Salofdezz

A perfume to make sure you don’t go unnoticed 😍, a warm and spicy bomb. At first, you notice the orange with the bitter touch of ginger, and deeper down, the black pepper leaf and the addictive, sexy neroli of L’Interdit. It dries down quite creamy, blending the wood and patchouli. If you like something intense, bitter but not excessive, and want to be the center of attention, this is yours.

  • I wish it wasn’t for older ladies; it smells like flowers at a funeral or old things. To me, it has nothing feminine or sexy about it 🙁

  • I was depressed when I couldn’t buy it after trying it, haha. It’s rich and lasts quite a while. It smells expensive and is special. I don’t recommend it for sensitive noses.

  • It’s not a fragrance for innocent maidens, but for souls seeking the strong, intoxicating oriental spell. Fine as a cut of silk, sparkling like party wine, it rises in its fantasy red bottle, heir to the Intense Noir (the one my nose loves the most).

  • cuarentaydos

When I say I want a red fruit perfume, I mean THIS, not a goat milk one. It’s mature, sweet enough to be seductive without being cloying.

  • Does anyone remember the song by Judge Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame? When he curses the seduction of Esmeralda… well, this perfume is that song. Maybe Esmeralda’s handkerchief smelled like this. It starts with fresh orange, ginger, and a delicious cherry. Then it settles into a blend of neroli and sandalwood. The spice comes and goes. It lasts 2 hours on skin, 5 days on clothes and keeps going, and on hair it smells like sandalwood after two days. If you only like the initial notes, wear it on skin and reapply. If you want your clothes and hair to retain those oriental and floral notes, try it on your coat, scarf, or hair. It’s not for the weak. Frollo was weak and look how he ended up burning Paris. Intense love 100%.

  • cursedhazakura

Uf… it’s my sexiest perfume. Its notes? That’s exactly what it smells like. You can smell all of them. Right after putting it on, my nose itches from the ginger. It’s spicy, acidic, and juicy thanks to the orange and neroli. I smell myself and can’t handle it; it’s for conquering. It’s a special scent; maybe it won’t please everyone, but I recommend it 100%.

  • Aishalulunim

On my skin, it’s warm, spicy, and very dark. It’s nocturnal, sensual, and potent. Although it’s marketed as feminine, on me it works as unisex because the woods dominate the sweetness. At first, it was hard for me, as even though I like intense scents, woods and spices are darker than usual. I barely notice a slight citrus touch for contrast. After wearing it several times, I finally enjoy it. ♥️ I see it as ideal for night, maybe my signature night scent. I recommend testing on skin before buying or, like me, grabbing the small size to adapt to the intensity without getting overwhelmed.

  • At first, it didn’t convince me; it smells bitter to me, but when the heart notes rise (around 3 hours on my skin), it smells delicious and addictive. I have dry skin and almost nothing lasts on me, but this is a BOMB that lasts until the next day, especially on clothes. Ideal for cold weather; in heat, it smells heavy. It’s a mature, dark, seductive perfume, modern witch style. Not for everyone.

  • I love it! My husband smells caramel for half an hour and burnt rubber… 🤦 But he admitted that, even though he doesn’t like it up close, on my skin and trail it’s pleasant. I got a 12ml travel size because with that I have enough for a lifetime. It’s a bomb.

  • Yeli parfum

It’s a gem, top-tier composition. I’m obsessed: the DNA of L’Interdit mixed with the sweet touch of tonka bean.
