It doesn’t resemble the regular Red Temptation at all, but it has its own style: it smells like a forest, with a hint of freshness, a touch of sweetness, and wood. It evokes cold Christmas days without being heavy. At first, it seems masculine, but as it dries down, the notes settle to give an elegant and unique touch.
It smells exactly like the regular version to me.
Red Temptation Winter: My honest take. It opens with saffron and praline, promising sweetness, but the dry down loses its strength quickly. The orange adds a citrus touch, yet nothing gives it body or impact for a winter fragrance. The heart shines with the frankincense, which is the most interesting part, but that dark, resinous side never quite takes off, landing in an undefined middle ground. It’s not warm, mysterious, or enveloping; instead, it feels light, short-lived, and somewhat flat. The base with patchouli, cedar, and moss feels very diluted, lacking depth, creaminess, or that sustained sweetness that creates a cozy feeling. Verdict: it doesn’t deliver on its promises. I bought it blindly looking for something intense and enveloping, but ended up with something watery, not warm enough, and without personality. The frankincense is curious, but it doesn’t hold the blend together. If I was hoping for a dupe of Baccarat Rouge 540, it doesn’t come close in quality, longevity, or complexity. It feels like a mid-season fragrance, lacking winter character or a wow factor. In my case, this experience even steers me away from the original, as it doesn’t make me want to repurchase.
