I bought it because of the hype that it was Rihanna’s perfume and that she smelled like paradise. First time buying blind. It has been a huge disappointment; don’t listen to those who say it’s sexy and smells great; it’s a synthetic bomb with a bubblegum smell. I’ve given it several chances, but nothing; every time I smell it, my nose burns. Not to mention it’s a very vulgar smell. Definitely the worst perfume I’ve ever tried; I wouldn’t gift it even to my worst enemy.

  • theperfumist

I liked it on my skin, but it doesn’t last at all and it gives me a headache; it has a note like ‘bubble gum’ that gives me a migraine.

  • Kimmbaekkie

This is the biggest perfumery disappointment I’ve ever experienced. Like many others, I let myself be swept up by the hype and even saw videos saying it smelled like floral bonbons. And nothing could be further from the truth. This thing smells like stale tamales. A genuine nausea-inducer. For that price, the least I want is to smell like a tamale stand. NEXT !!

  • I only have it in a Zenz inspiration. At first, it seemed very strong and I didn’t quite understand the scent, but now I love it, although I still don’t like the opening. The scent that remains after minutes and especially hours is delicious 🥰. Vanilla and caramel dominate, and you can perceive the floral notes balancing it out. It’s a fragrance that’s not childish at all, very sophisticated, and not cloying; you feel powerful and sexy. But I understand it’s not for everyone’s taste.

  • Say what you want, that it’s childish, that it smells like candy, and yes, it definitely smells like candy, but headlined by an exquisite orange blossom and tons of sugar, caramel, and marshmallows! SWEET just as its description says, what more did critics expect? Did you expect a subtle, floral citrus? If not, then this composition is exactly as its notes show, so those expecting something different don’t know what world you live in, haha. Honestly, I was guided for a long time by negative comments about longevity and quality, and I realized that indeed, you shouldn’t let yourself be swept away 100% by Fragrantica, as many people let themselves be carried away by the hype and end up not liking it if they don’t love the sweet side! But logically, babe, if you give a negative review because Love Don’t Be Shy is only for lovers of the chonky stuff! That’s why you should get a sample before buying, so I ended up loving this beautiful fragrance. It brings me so much joy, and I waited so long to get it because of negative reviews. It’s marvelous; for no reason does it have a ton of clones, but none will ever equal the original <3

  • I bought a sample because of the Rihanna fame. If it smelled like ‘Diosa patatín’, I’m not black or white; I give many chances, but with this fragrance, it’s been impossible. It’s a disgusting smell to my nose; it reminds me of opening the plastic cup where you keep the parchís game pieces, but mixed with a very sweet plasticine smell… absolutely horrible for me.

  • I’m glad I only have one decant because on my skin, this is the most horrible scent of my life. It’s an overwhelming sweetness that won’t wash off even after showering and gave me nausea and a headache. It leaves a penetrating smell like those 80s plastic bubble gum toys, the Buble Gummers, but at full power. Money wasted and it’s my fault for letting myself be swept up by the hype. I left it forgotten for 4 months. I don’t live in a cold area, but there was a cold front with 10°C. I tried it again and it was a surprise: that plastic smell wasn’t as aggressive, and what remains is sweet, warm, and comforting in the cold. It lasts hours and hours. Now I actually like it.

  • I tested it at Sephora without many expectations; it’s very famous here but I’d never smelled it. I can only say WOW!! I’ve been looking for something like this for years, with well-defined notes, sweet without being cloying or giving me a headache, with an implacable longevity that lingers on clothes and skin. That vanilla has a je ne sais quoi that makes you feel unique. Despite what people say, I LOVE this perfume. They say Rihanna wore it and it always smells rich. I smell the sugar, vanilla, and caramel as powdery from the opening to the dry down; it’s quite sweet. The orange blossom and musk revel in that sweetness. A perfect and well-thought-out combination. I was ready to buy it until I saw the price (it’s insane). I’ll buy it soon, this perfume has to be mine, the hype is real. 🫶🏼❤️🔥

  • Not love at first sight; at first, I felt the musk was a bit aggressive, but with wear, I learned to like it. It’s super sweet; the citrus is only in the opening and lasts a tiny bit. What you get is vanilla, caramel, and definitely a slightly powdery musk. I only wear it at night or on cold days. Some days I love it, other days I don’t want to smell it, which is weird. I usually layer a vanilla body mist as a base to highlight that side more.

  • It’s giving me second thoughts… I’ve wanted to try this for years and the YouTube reviews were insane. Finally got two samples, one of this and one of the Extreme. Spoiler: I already own and adore the Pin Up by JPG and Cabaret from my collection for years. That’s all I have to say for now 🙂🙃

  • I wanted it because of Rihanna… apparently it doesn’t work with me or my pH. At first, it smells too much like musk, then it mutates into cinnamon, and finally settles into a weak sweet scent. It doesn’t feel sweet, but rather woody. It reminds me of those musk colognes grandmothers used to wear.

  • Karen Campos

On my skin, it’s very sweet, like hard candies, with a toasted sweetness, but it heavily emphasizes the orange blossom note, which I dislike. I can’t identify the animal note. Also, it lasted very little and the sillage is very intimate, despite spraying it more than ten times. For that reason and its price, it seems too expensive. I could invest in a dupe, but the scent didn’t kill me.

  • Mariaca121

This is the worst perfume I’ve ever tried. It smells like animal musk mixed with grass. A truly disgusting odor.

  • Simply put: sweet orange blossom and sweet, sweet, sweet jasmine. Did I say sweet? Undeniably feminine. Thanks to the universe, the longevity and sillage are moderate. If it were more potent, I think even its lovers would find it cloying. It’s not my style, but I understand it has its audience. It’s a very obvious and intense floral, ideal for young people. (Is saying that politically correct?) I see it as a daytime scent, not too formal. Definitely not for the office. And of course, I might be wrong for many. I think it’s been overhyped and unfairly trampled. It happens when high expectations meet a new product and a hype machine. Love is what Love is; if it’s ambrosia for you, congratulations. If it’s a horrible mess to you, what bad luck, especially if you bought it based on a celebrity. I’m not going down that path. Moral of the story: test before you buy. Otherwise, don’t complain. Enjoy.

  • nataliedrm

I wanted to know what it smelled like, but I never saw neroli listed—a note I hate. It turned out so sweet that it’s unpleasant. It smells like those heart-shaped candies that make you want to vomit just by smelling them, but mixed with plastic. So synthetic and horrible. Killian makes beautiful perfumes, but LDBS is a disaster.

  • looking4fragance

To me, it smells very much like Narcotics V, especially due to the dominant rose and white floral notes.

  • Bought it blindly because of the Rihanna hype and the ‘paradise’ claims. If that’s their paradise, it’s bazaar incense mixed with old strawberry gum; I can’t even imagine their hell. I hated it from the first spritz. Starts spicy with incense, then evolves into sugary strawberry gum. An impossible blend, like a student room filled with incense and bubblegum. Longevity and sillage are huge, but don’t buy it blindly.

  • Elegant and cloying. At first, it smells like kids’ syrup, like Dollex, but as it dries down, it becomes sweet and white floral like jasmine, reminiscent of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique but much sweeter.

  • Don’t buy it blind; I recommend testing it first. But I really liked it. It smells confusing; it suits young people, but the flowers make it feel adult. It’s the definition of melted marshmallow with flowers, especially jasmine. The vanilla is barely noticeable, more like sugar. It’s a luxurious daytime perfume for feminine women. It smells delicious for special daytime outings if you want to stand out, very feminine and not childish.

  • Possibly one of my favorites. If I had my own perfume, it would be this. It’s super pleasant, sweet, playful, and very feminine. A mix of marshmallow with melted caramel and a halo of marked neroli and orange blossom. Decent longevity and average projection.

  • Very rich and feminine. To me, it’s like a mix between Oriana PDM and Watch by M. Micallef, 60% of one and 40% of the other.

  • It smells very sweet, with orange blossom on top, marshmallow, and caramel. I thought I’d love it, but it left me indifferent. I see it as an autumn and winter scent; it’s creamy and not too strong. It doesn’t remind me of Oriana at all.

  • It’s ridiculous to say it smells like syrup or grandma. To me, it’s the opposite; it has me head over heels. At first, you notice the neroli, but it quickly moves to a heart of velvety marshmallows and orange blossom. Dry down is creamy and sweet, lasting about 8 hours on skin. In tropical weather, it projects for 2 or 3 hours before becoming more intimate. One night, eight people asked me what I was wearing; by the next day at the beach, it had evaporated. It’s a luxury worth every penny.

  • I really liked it; it’s sweet but different. Elegant and feminine. Although it’s expensive and hard to get here, I have it in my collection. The only downside is that it doesn’t last long on my skin.

  • I was really eager to try it, but it smells too synthetic. I won’t be buying it again.

  • I love it, even though I initially rejected it. I tried it because of the Rihanna hype and thought it would be a failure, but it won me over with time. It’s super feminine and sweet, with lots of marshmallow and delicate florals. Some people say it sounds like Oriana, but it’s not the same; this is sweeter, while Oriana is fresher and more powdery. I prefer this for how sweet it is, but if you don’t like extremes, go with Oriana.

  • NaraCats21

I fell for the hype and was utterly disappointed. It smells like sugar, white flowers, and my grandmother’s house full of pills. Very cloying and powdery.

  • Andrecilla09

Please, do not buy it blindly. Don’t let yourself be swayed by the reviews; it’s excessively sweet and smells like a lady.

  • A powdery caress of orange blossom, so delicate it’s about to crack. In the cold winter, it unleashes all its power.

  • People always compliment this perfume; it has a lot of personality. The pink pepper is noticeable and quite sweet. I like it, but I’ve only worn it a couple of times because it’s intense and its longevity can be overwhelming. I reserve it for parties since it makes a big impression, though prolonged wear can become suffocating.

The creamy luxury of Love Don’t Be Shy is a fragrance that makes you want to keep smelling it. From the first spray, there’s a sugary citrus opening of orange and bergamot that lasts a few minutes before transforming into a creamy cloud of white florals, with an elegant touch of rose without being dramatic. Although it contains iris, it doesn’t feel powdery or vintage. The formula avoids a cosmetic effect and stays modern, balancing sweetness with clean notes. Between the vanilla, sugar, and neroli, there’s a sensation of perfumed skin, as if the sweetness is coming out of the pores. It’s a gummy, creamy, and sophisticated blend that doesn’t fall into cloying territory thanks to fresh notes that clean up the base. Although feminine, the drydown allows a man to wear it stylishly. Ideal for special occasions, dates, or a bride on her wedding day. I give it a 9/10. It’s liquid luxury, addictive, with an olfactory signature that leaves a mark.

  • PERSONAL ANALYSIS (in case it helps anyone): 1. Versatility: Wearable in any season and day or night, but it’s too formal. 2. Longevity: Between 6 and 8 hours. 3. Sillage and Projection: Soft sillage, but projects very well. 4. Personal Affinity: Fits my tastes, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I’ve worn it several times over the last 3 months.

  • I recommend trying it before buying; it could be a disappointment. To me, it lacks personality and smells just like baby cologne. You can barely detect the Neroli and almost no other notes, at least on my skin. Better to test first.

  • Aishalulunim

Honestly, a disappointment. The opening was too alcoholic with a slight citrus touch. Soon, the sweet marshmallow notes and some warm heart notes emerged. I bought the decants out of curiosity because it’s the “Rihanna perfume,” but on my skin, it comes across as very flat. It smells like lactonic marshmallow, like a milkshake, reminiscent of Kayali’s Marshmallow but more subtle and less childish. It’s sweet, but that’s about it. It will fit gourmand lovers, but I expected something more unique, especially given the price. It might be my skin, but it goes unnoticed on me.

  • HiedraVenenosa

I was expecting something more cheerful. I wouldn’t spend this much money on it for fun. It reminds me of a vintage gourmand, like an 80s prototype: sweet and a bit powdery. At first, I detect something citrusy, but then it sweetens and becomes powdery, like weird marshmallow. I never say it’s a “lady’s perfume,” but it recalls what someone might have worn 40 years ago, perhaps due to the civet. I don’t plan to buy it; maybe a dupe just to experiment. This profile doesn’t attract me, define me, or represent me. The hype is surprising. Maybe I’ll try Oriana instead. It also doesn’t seem long-lasting or projective. I expected great things from something costing 200-300€, but it fails to deliver. Disappointment.

  • The first time I smelled it, I liked it for its sweetness, but when I wore it, it reminded me of baby cologne, even baby wipes. Initially, people said it smelled of licorice and strawberries, and yes, it’s sweet, but to me, it sounds like that childish scent I don’t see in perfumes. It doesn’t last as expected; it’s soft, stays close to the skin, projects nothing, and lasts very little on clothes. I only smelled it when I put it on. Do not buy blindly.

  • Gatitomalbado

What else can I say? My experience is very personal. To me, LDBS is a sweet, playful perfume born before the gourmand craze took over. It’s opulent and creamy yet easy to wear. On my skin, the white florals and marshmallow blend together seamlessly rather than standing out as separate notes. I perceive it as a unique, blended scent; I can identify some notes but can’t quite separate them. It lasted eight hours on me, though with moderate-to-low sillage. I used a 2ml sample, and while I enjoyed it, I’m not sure I’d buy a full bottle. And please, when will we stop using age as a pejorative term?
