  • A very pleasant, sweet, and fresh fragrance. At first, it smells strongly of alcohol; you have to wait for it to settle. Once it’s been on the skin for a few seconds, I clearly detect the marshmallow and bergamot. After it settles, it smells sweet without being gourmand, featuring a very nice orange note that gives it that citrus lift. The longevity is a bit poor—it lasts about two and a half hours on my skin, and the trail isn’t much either. It reminds me a little of Oriana and Love Don’t Be Shy, though at about 75%. Rating: 7.

  • It arrived recently, I really wanted it, but I don’t like its opening 🫣. I sold it to my friend and it smells amazing on her. I’m tempted to buy it again, but only the small size, haha.

  • Very pleasant, sweet, and fresh. It starts with an alcohol note, so you have to wait for it to settle. A few seconds on the skin and I can already detect marshmallow and bergamot. In the dry-down, it smells sweet without being gourmand, with an orangey touch that keeps it fresh. The longevity is poor, lasting about two and a half hours on the skin with minimal sillage. It reminds me 75% of Oriana and Love Don’t Be Shy. Rating: 7/10.

  • If you’re looking for the Barbie x Zara perfume, try this one instead—they’re almost identical, though this is softer while Barbie is sweeter and fruitier. They dry down to be practically the same. Both remind me of Love Don’t Be Shy, although not in the opening notes.

  • If you were left wanting the Barbie x Zara perfume, try this one; they’re practically identical, although this one has a softer opening while the Barbie one is sweeter and fruitier. But in the dry-down, they’re practically the same. In the dry-down, they both remind me of Love Don’t Be Shy (not its opening).

  • I don’t know Oriana to judge the similarity. I’d say this has a decent quality-to-price ratio; you can tell it’s floral and has marshmallow, but I got the impression it has very fair performance, especially for the type of scent it is, which feels more festive and night-time.

  • Ojos Claros

Vanilla, musk, rose, caramel, and orange blossom, similar to Kilian’s Love Don’t Be Shy. But with cotton candy vibes like Aquolina and other feminine, sweet notes shared with Mugler’s Angel. It’s youthful, innocent, and cheerful without trying to be elegant or sensual. I wore it just for fun. It has the dry-down vibe of Dolce & Gabbana, which is a perfume I absolutely love and find elegant. Velvet Shadow is the best of Zara’s new collection. These are just personal tastes.

  • Vanilla, musk, rose, caramel, and orange blossom like Kilian’s LDBS. But with cotton candy like Aquolina and other feminine, sweet notes shared with Mugler’s Angel. It’s youthful, innocent, and cheerful without trying to be elegant or sensual. It came with me purely for fun. It has the dry-down vibe of Dolce&Gabbana, and that last one is a perfume I’m fascinated by and is indeed elegant. Velvet Shadow is the one I liked most from this new Zara collection. Of course, these are personal tastes.

  • At first, it reminds me a lot of that orange from Hidden, intense and noticeable, unlike the BS which feels like a bonbon within minutes and stays that way. It’s not a novel scent but smells great up to that point. That opening mandarin seems very sharp to me, and I’d say it’s clearly a sweet citrus scent. Maybe it would even work well layered with a pure vanilla fragrance.

  • It’s exactly what I wanted to smell when I tested Memo-Sintra, it’s divine! Smells like a luxury perfume.

  • MissPennyLane

Smells like a strawberry candy with a sour touch. It’s soft and delicate. Projects almost nothing and doesn’t last more than two hours on skin or clothes. Not worth buying at full price, though it’s a steal during mega sales. I use it for the gym or right after a shower.

  • Doesn’t smell as gourmand as its name suggests. I detect powdered mandarin with sugar over vanilla, though I can’t quite distinguish the marshmallow. Then it turns into a dessert table note with some florals. It’s soft, subtle, and delicate. I apply about 15-20 sprays (see who throws the first stone if we’ve never over-applied before), and that’s when it lasts all day. Low sillage and projection, but decent for the price.

  • It doesn’t smell as gourmand as the name suggests. I get the tangerine as if it were dusted with sugar over vanilla, though I can’t quite pinpoint that marshmallow note. Then it circles back to that pre-dessert vibe with some florals. It’s soft, subtle, and delicate. I apply about 15 to 20 sprays (throw the first stone at anyone who has never over-applied perfume before), and that’s when it finally lasts all day. Low sillage and projection, but decent for the price.

  • It resembles Oriana—same vibe but not a direct copy. Think of it as a lighter, super-soft version. It opens with citrus; it’s a delicate, sweet, and very clean scent. Fresh and perfect for summer nights. Ideal for perfectionists. I’m waiting to see how it dries down and how long it lasts before updating. On my skin, it barely lingers, but I hope it performs differently on yours. If you’re looking for this profile, try Maison Alambra’s Reyna, which lasts longer with more power and nuance. I’ll save Velvet Shadow for hot days, staying at home, or right after a shower.

  • Reminiscent of Oriana, but without copying it exactly. It’s like a lighter, super-soft version. Opens citrusy, sweet, and very clean. Perfect for refreshing yourself on summer nights or for those who appreciate subtlety. Still waiting to see how it dries down and how long it lasts before editing. On my skin, it lasts a mere whisper; I hope it’s different on yours. If you’re looking for more power and longevity, try Maison Alambra’s Reyna. I’ll use Velvet Shadow on hot days to stay in or just after a shower.
