Calice Becker, a French master perfumer and director of the Givaudan School of Perfumery, once asked her mother how the flowers got into a water of cologne bottle. She was intrigued by the transparent liquid that smelled intensely of orange blossom. Later, she discovered the answer to this mystery and today, she fills crystal bottles with flowers herself.
“I like to add a dose of intrigue because nothing captures attention like a touch of something unexpected,” says Calice. Her innovative approach has earned her a well-deserved reputation as one of the world’s most respected perfumers.
Calice has created several world-renowned fragrances, including Dior J’adore, YSL, Marc Jacobs and the “chef d’oeuvre” of By Kilian. She believes in adding an element of surprise to her creations so they stand out.
In recognition of her contributions to the fragrance industry, Calice has won several awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Fragrance Foundation. Since 2018, she has been the president of the International Society of Perfume Creators (International Society of Perfume Creators).
