A good option if you like the Spicebomb scent but want to spend less.
It delivers what we look for in Zara: affordable, liked, and perfect for daily wear. It has interesting points: it’s both fresh and warm, fitting many situations. Decent longevity and good sillage for the first few hours, then it fades. It opens like a lemon tart—citrusy and creamy—adding spices and woods before settling into vanilla and tonka, which is my least favorite part. You can get some mileage out of it, but it doesn’t stir the passions.
I bought it on a hunch and wasn’t wrong. It’s special: fresh, aquatic, with a touch of sweet fruit and warm spice. It reminds me of YSL Y. For the price, a good buy. It smells different from the rest of its segment. Longevity is 4-5 hours, projects well at first. I recommend it for spring-summer.
It’s not a bad scent, but it just doesn’t work for me. I know it smells good, I’ve had people sniff it and they like it, but it turns me off and I don’t feel like wearing it. It’s one of the few fragrances where I’ve felt this way, but hey, every nose is different. I was gifted it, and in the end, I gifted it away again.

It’s not a bad scent, but it’s not for me. I know it smells good and others like it, but it just repels me, which is weird. Every nose is different. I was gifted it and ended up gifting it away.
I’m addicted to this saga; another flanker worth it. I carry the 20ml travel size in my bag; I went home and it smelled spicy and sweet. Like the whole line, you have to reapply.

Car air freshener, nothing more and nothing less. One of the worst in the line.

@dch, have you ever smelled Spicebomb Extreme? I bet you wouldn’t say the same… I don’t understand the hate for Zara. As for this fragrance: no hope for the latest flankers. I haven’t smelled the original, but I own the Extreme and they’re 80% similar; the original is sweeter. It’s not Zara’s best, but it’s not bad. If V&R bottled it and called it ‘Spicebomb Extreme L’eau’ for 65€, we’d rush to buy it.
I didn’t trust the ZVL line, but I liked this one. It smells like a watered-down, shiny version of Spicebomb with aromatic, spicy notes and a metallic touch. It smells great. Projection is low and longevity is acceptable (6 hours on skin), which is typical for Zara. Wear it on clothes for a pleasant masculine scent. I’d only buy it on sale; 20€ isn’t cheap for its performance.
I never really believed in the ZVL line, but this one convinced me. It smells like they took Spicebomb, diluted it in water, and added a bright touch; it has aromatic, spicy notes, and even a slight metallic edge. It smells great, honestly. The projection is low and lasts about 6 hours close to the skin, but with Zara, that’s no surprise. If you wear it on clothes, it smells masculine, pleasant, and doesn’t overpower. I’d only buy it on sale; 20 euros for 100ml isn’t cheap considering its performance and projection.
I like it quite a bit, though I’m sad because they don’t sell it anymore, but if they bring it back, I’ll definitely buy more than one. I own both Spicebomb, EDT and Extreme, and honestly, they have nothing to do with this VL Metal: when those two go for spicy, cinnamon, and vanilla, this one goes for creamy, almost like a sunscreen but without the coconut vibe. I don’t have anything to compare it to, but for me, it’s very good.
I love it, but it’s a shame they stopped selling it; if it comes back, I’ll grab several bottles. Compared to my Spicebomb EDT and Extreme (which are cinnamon and vanilla), this VL Metal is creamy, like sunscreen without the coconut. I don’t have anything else to compare it to, but it’s really good.
