Vibrant Leather Bogoss Winter by Zara is a men's fragrance from the vibrant leather family. This creation, launched in 2024, is presented as a new addition to the collection. The top notes unfold a vibrant freshness with pineapple, bergamot, and lime (green lemon); the heart reveals a combination of bamboo and leather; while the base notes add depth with cognac, Egyptian papyrus, and patchouli.

Zara saw the success of their Vibrant Leather Bogoss, where pineapple rules, and commissioned Jerome Epinette to make the most of that profile, as they did with the original and its 3,000 flankers. This one, along with Bogoss Summer, were the first of this new venture. More than Bogoss Winter, it should be called Bogoss Night, because it’s ideal for a hot night. It’s a dense yet fresh aroma that finds its place on a night with a summery feel. Upon smelling it, you remember a cocktail (makes sense, since the perfumer said he tried to replicate the Big Apple of New York). Another common sensation is associating it with gum, which gives a very novel and fun vibe. That’s why I think it works great in fun contexts or dates. Not so much for the office; I’d use something more classic. Compared to the original, this flanker is more mature due to the cognac note. However, since it’s not very marked, it’s not a smell for an older person like other cognac-based scents, so a young person can wear it without issues. For me, it’s a great flanker, I just wouldn’t use it in winter as its name suggests. IMPORTANT: It doesn’t resemble Club De Nuit, Aventus, or most perfumes shown in similar categories. If I had to say one that fits its same vibe (without being a clone or looking too much alike), it would be Armani Code Parfum, both reminding of gum or chewable candy in their dry down.

  • Good perfume, I’ve received compliments at the office; it’s ideal for everyday office wear or cold climates. The projection is moderate, the trail is good, and it lasts about 5 hours.

  • It’s a good scent, elegant and masculine. It starts with pineapple and citrus, leaving a soft and pleasant leather at the end. The curious thing is that for me, it smells good at first, but then it stops being noticeable, while others love it and can smell it from far away. Highly recommended. It lasts about 5 hours and projects quite a bit, but just right when you arrive at the venue, not before. Edit*: It reminds me a lot of Polo 67, but it’s more rugged.

  • Good fragrance, elegant, and with a masculine vibe. The opening is citrusy with pineapple, settling into a soft leather base that fits perfectly. The interesting thing is that at first I can’t smell it on myself, but others can smell it a lot and love it. Highly recommended. Longevity is about 5+ hours. Projects strongly right when you arrive at your destination, not before. Edit*: Reminds me a lot of the Polo 67 opening, but with more character.

I went with my colleague to Zara to look for cologne, knowing nothing about perfumes, and in the end, we each took something we liked. I grabbed this because the first impression was amazing, and I haven’t regretted it. Bogoss Vibrant Leather Winter has nothing to do with the famous Vibrant Leather that imitates Creed Aventus. It’s a different concept: it starts with a slap of sweet pineapple; then it fades a bit to let in the cognac scent, making it more masculine and less youthful. It’s like that friend who looks like a kid, but you know there’s a grown-up, mature person with more life than Queen Elizabeth II behind the eyes. It performs well, especially on clothes where the pineapple is noticeable and I get compliments. I thought it was for summer, but listen to me, this is for a chilly winter day.

If you liked the original Bogoss with its juicy pineapple blast, imagine that kid put on a leather jacket, went to a bar, and ordered a drink. That’s the idea behind the Winter version. The opening is 100% Bogoss: pineapple is well-presented and synthetic. But after a while, instead of a tropical vibe, it gets heavier. A smoky and cognac touch appears to give it a nocturnal and winter character. The problem? The idea isn’t bad, but it doesn’t invent anything new. It’s an DNA we’ve smelled a thousand times. It’s Zara’s attempt to jump on the dark flanker train that ends up halfway. It’s not ugly, but it’s totally forgettable. This is where the house of cards collapses: the performance. Longevity: with all due respect, about 3 or 4 hours, and I’m generous. You put it on to go out, and by the middle of the party, you can’t smell it anymore. Projection: an hour? At best. It’s shy at first and then sticks to the skin until it disappears. Conclusion: it’s a ‘want but can’t’. A pleasant aroma that lasts less than a fart. If you find it for free on a deal and like it for home or a 40-minute errand, go for it. But don’t expect more. A ghost perfume.

I’m annoyed that many people write ‘Ananá’ 🤔 when in most countries it’s called ‘Pineapple’. The perfume is rich but quite heavy for everyday wear. I see it for special occasions or weekends because it gets tiring to wear daily. Scent rating 9/10, very rich, smells like a more expensive perfume.

  • This is how the original Bogoss should have been born. I like the first one sometimes; it attracts me other times, and other times I see nothing in it. The Winter version, however, is a different story, much more enjoyable, as if they polished everything. It opens less citrusy, and the pineapple no longer smells like a can or juice, but is darker and less aggressive. The pineapple and leather blend is much better executed. Over time, a very subtle boozy note emerges, like the Zara perfumes that mix vanilla and liquor, but here it’s pineapple and liquor. If you have the option to buy this, the original isn’t worth even a euro.

  • This is how the original Bogoss should have been. I like the original from time to time; some days I love it, others it gives me zero interest. The Winter version, however, is much more enjoyable, as if they improved everything. It’s less citrusy at first, and the pineapple no longer smells like a can or juice; instead, it becomes darker and less sharp. The pineapple-leather blend is executed much better. After some time, you can barely detect a cognac note, just like in other Zara perfumes that mix vanilla and liquor, except here it’s pineapple and liquor. If I have the option to buy this, the original isn’t worth a dime.

A pretty interesting BOGOSS flanker. It smells more mature than the others, which is exactly what I was looking for. It opens with smoky pineapple and green lemon, nothing sharp or cloying, with green notes (I assume bamboo) and a very subtle cognac leather. It’s great for going out or to work without any issues. It’s rich, mature, yet modern. The only downside to the Bogoss line is the longevity (about 5 hours), but if we let it breathe for a month and it improves, it would be perfect. Price: $18 for a deal in Chile. Could not be better.

A flanker of Bogoss that hit me out of the park. It feels more mature than the others, which is exactly what I needed. Opens with smoky pineapple and green lemon, nothing sharp or cloying, with a green note I assume is bamboo, followed by a very soft, slightly boozy leather. Perfect for going out or work; smells rich and modern. The only downside is the longevity, about 5 hours, but if you let it breathe for a month, it might improve. At $18 on sale in Chile, there’s nothing better.
