Descripción

Vibrant Leather Explosion by Zara is a leather fragrance for men. Launched in 2024, this olfactory composition was created by Jérôme Epinette. The scent pyramid unfolds with top notes of bergamot and black pepper, giving way to a heart of bamboo and violet leaves. The trail settles on a base of cotton candy, black amber, and patchouli.

More scents with Baccarat DNA, they lost the uniqueness and identity when wearing a perfume. We fall into the so-called NPC. A brand that, by the way, only offers dupes and more dupes, with no performance, zero longevity. Trash, just like their clothes.

I’m obsessed with Citrus Exit. It’s fresh, although the pepper bothers a bit at first, then it integrates well with the rest of the notes that appear, dry and sweet. It doesn’t quite remind me of Red Temptation, honestly. Unisex masculine. Longevity and projection are very good, 4/5 hours. In my opinion, among the Vibrants, this is the best to date. Edit opinion after a week and yes, yes, it has the Red Temptation touch in the dry down, it’s the one leaving the trail because the Vibrant Leather part is much weaker in this part of the performance.

  • I’ve been thinking about it, and while there’s a sweet undertone, what really stands out is that vibrant leather with amazing performance. After wearing it a couple more times, I’m clearly noticing that ‘red’ nuance in the dry down. I’m confirmed: the performance is brutal. While the original lasted an hour and then barely lingered, this one hits six-plus hours, which is a marvel and better than I expected. Among the Zara tests, this and Red for Him Intense are the winners.

  • I have it and am currently testing it. I like it, but it sounds weird to me. It’s a ZVL with cotton candy, or rather, that childhood candy called PETA-ZETAS, a sparkling acidic strawberry granule. Did the author resort to that exact blend and his subconscious betrayed him by naming it “Explosion” because of the explosions the candy makes with carbon dioxide in your mouth? I feel like I should test this with a bag of strawberry Peta-Zetas and a good pour of ZVL. Hahaha. I like it; but I don’t know what occasion I’d wear it for. Maybe an informal night? We’ll see. EDIT: I GAVE IT AWAY. IT DOESN’T GO WITH ME. IT SMELLS LIKE PETAZETAS. END.

They mixed 75% of ZARA Vibrant Leather with 25% of Zara for Him Red edition and the result is this new Zara VL Explosion, it’s delicious for collectors, it shouldn’t be missing, and it lasts quite well. Opening is Aventus and dry down is Baccarat Rouge 540 😅.

  • I finally got it and am analyzing it. I like it, but it sounds weird. It smells like ZVL with cotton candy, or rather, that childhood candy called Peta-Zetas, that sparkling strawberry-flavored granule. Could it be that the creator used that exact blend and his subconscious betrayed him by naming it ‘Explosion,’ because the caramel explodes with carbon dioxide in your mouth? I feel like testing it with a bag of strawberry Peta-Zetas and a good shot of ZVL. Haha. I like it, but I don’t know when to wear it. Maybe an informal night? We’ll see. EDIT: I gave it away. It doesn’t suit me; it smells like Peta-Zetas. END.

I absolutely love this perfume. It smells like pineapple with a fresh and sweet touch. It’s like combining the freshness of smelling a river with juicy pineapples. The longevity on clothes lasts a couple of days, I can still catch whiffs of it.

  • With a lot of imagination and effort, I detect something sweet in the background, but basically it’s a vibrant leather with much better performance. Edit: After a few more uses, I detect the “red” note in the background with greater clarity. And I reaffirm my point about longevity, as VL lasted me an hour after which it was barely detectable, whereas this one lasts me 6 and a half hours, which is great, better than expected. Among the ones I’ve tried from Zara, this and Red for Him Intense are the best.

  • It smells somewhere between Bogoss and Qaed al Fursan. I don’t understand the hype for this fragrance when it is, in itself, already somewhat redundant.

A huge hit from Zara. While I’m not hooked on the Bacarat Rouge DNA because it’s too sweet, they’ve balanced it perfectly here so it doesn’t sound like a notes cocktail, but rather uniform. It’s a perfect blend of Aventus and Bacarat: a citrus and woody opening with a sweet smoky note that lingers on the skin. It lasts several hours, but after 3 hours it stays close to the skin and needs reapplication. A good unisex hybrid, leaning more masculine. Scent: 7.5/10, Longevity: 7/10, Projection: 6.5/10. Recommended.

  • Zara offers cheap Aventus dupes, and I’m not going to criticize that. I enjoy collecting and appreciate that they sometimes add their own touch to differentiate from the original, since the quality of these clones is usually inferior. The scent is very pleasant, perfect for summer.

  • I was eager to try this blend of two DNA fragrances I love. I tested it yesterday and it’s exactly as you imagine: Vibrant Leather + Red Tentation. If you already own either, you’ll feel like you’re wearing the original, since it starts with the full aroma of the VL and then the sweetness of Red Tentation comes through. I found it very pleasant and versatile; in fact, I bought it because I no longer have either of the two. I see it more for casual outings than for everyday wear like the VL. What convinced me was the performance: it lasts quite a few hours without needing to sniff it, something that doesn’t happen with almost anything from Zara. Great, finally a perfume that smells effortless after 2 hours. Try it if you like blended DNA fragrances, but if you already have one or both, it’s redundant. Versatile in climates, except in extreme heat where the sweet notes can become overwhelming.

Another disappointment from Zara, and here’s why: as a fragrance, it’s not bad—it’s basically the Aventus DNA at 75%—but it lacks that charm found in, say, the CDNI. The main issue is the performance: although it lasts a long time (easily 8 hours), the projection is extremely low. So it might work if you want it for intimate use and your own enjoyment, but if you’re looking for people to smell it, this isn’t the perfume.

  • Leonardo-Ramirez

A marvel, it smells like a Vibrant Leather with steroids, and at the end it leaves the memory of the Baccarat Rouge DNA, or Zara’s Red Temptation. This is a 10/10 totally for its price and performance. The most durable of the ones I have. And those to whom this fragrance doesn’t last, please check your PH because if it lasts, it lasts.

  • JC Fougère

First review for those who haven’t tried the original Vibrant Leather yet. I tested it for a week and it’s exactly what you’d expect: the regular VL but with more weight and longevity. Today, after 6 sprays at 11 AM, I could still smell it at 6 PM without even looking for it, especially during the first 3 hours. My partner, who keeps an eye on me, says they can’t stop smelling it all day. I don’t detect the technical notes, but what I did notice is that they’ve extended the life of the VL. If you like the Aventus DNA or are curious, go for it. Edit: I’m going to buy another bottle soon just to have a backup in case they reformulate it.

  • Cebobionic

Another Zara letdown: it smells good and is about 75% Adventure DNA, but it lacks the charm of others like CDNI. The issue is projection; even though it lasts 8 hours, it’s barely noticeable off the skin. Great for intimate use, but if you want people to smell you, forget it.

  • Carlo Mendez

It’s a great Zara perfume. I don’t get hooked on the Bacarat Rouge DNA because it smells too sweet, but here they’ve balanced it perfectly to create a homogeneous, rounded composition with no sharp edges. It’s basically an Aventus mixed with Bacarat Rouge: you get that citrus, slightly fruity, and woody opening from the first, paired with the second’s sweet, lightly smoky facet that lingers on the skin. The longevity is good, lasting several hours, but after about three hours it stops projecting and stays skin-scent only, so you’ll need to reapply. In short, it does its job and is a very successful hybrid, unisex but with more masculine character.

  • Leonardo-Ramirez

A masterpiece. It smells like Vibrant Leather with steroids and leaves behind the DNA of Baccarat Rouge or Zara’s Red Temptation. It’s a 10/10 for its price and performance. It’s the longest-lasting one I own. For those whose fragrance doesn’t last, check your pH—because if it lasts, it lasts.

Finally, something interesting in Zara’s pop perfumery, alongside Vibrant Leather Oud. For barely 20 euros for 100 ml, here’s the new Vibrant Leather Explosion—between us, the ‘little red one.’ Why complicate things with a master perfumer when we already have the catalog? Grab the usual VL, which is a watery substitute for Creed Aventus (it lasts less than joy in a Palestinian home compared to other dupes), and mix it with Zara For Him Red, our low-cost Baccarat Rouge. Voilà! It smells great. Unisex? The original already was; this isn’t any more macho—my grandma could wear it. It lasts longer than the regular VL. As my Argentine neighbor says: ‘you smell rich, exquisite, spectacular perfume, crazy.’ For the price, it’s awesome. A big hug, dude Amancio!

  • Daniipntr

Tested with two sprays on skin. Another one of Zara’s real winners. It smells like Vibrant Leather with a fresh twist and For Him Red Edition with a sweet cotton-candy note. After testing, it’s quite similar to Lattafa’s Oud for Glory in the dry-down and recalls Zara’s Baccarat Rouge aroma. It projects and lasts well. It’s a unisex scent, leaning slightly feminine, very rich for cold weather due to its sweetness, though it can be overpowering.

Finally something interesting in the pop perfumery section of the Zara house, along with Vibrant Leather Oud. And for barely 20 euros for 100 ml. Ladies, gentlemen, and sirs, we present the new Vibrant Leather Explosion, among ourselves the Vibrant Red One. And they must have thought: why complicate ourselves so much by ordering our house master perfumer, Monsieur Jerome Epinette, to create a new one, another… cheap “inspiration” of the hype perfume of the moment if we already have them in the catalog and in the barrels of the house? We take the usual VL, which was and is a kind of watery substitute for the over-the-top Creed Aventus aroma (say what you want, Zara VL lasts less than joy in a Palestinian home, especially compared to some of the other many cheap Aventus dupes) and we mix it with the Zara For Him Red, which is our low-cost Baccarat Ruch, and, voilà, mon ami, we have a new seasonal Zara fragrance that is going to blow up. And honestly, it’s not bad at all. Unisex? If the normal one already was, I don’t think this one smells more macho. My grandma could even wear it. It lasts quite a bit longer than the normal VL (didn’t need much) and, to be honest, it smells very good. As my Argentine neighbor says, you smell rich, exquisite, spectacular perfume, crazy. For what it’s worth, it’s awesome. A big hug, buddy Amancio!

  • Silver fragance

Let’s not deceive ourselves, it’s among the best you can buy in this price range. Fresh, aromatic, and very versatile. Longevity is very acceptable. Average projection. Some people criticize it out of “obligation” because it’s from Zara. Removing the purist criticisms for being a low-cost item, you won’t find anyone who doesn’t like it. A perfume certainly above the current average.

  • Silver fragance

Let’s not fool ourselves; this is among the best in its price range. It smells fresh, aromatic, and is very versatile. Longevity and projection are acceptable. Sometimes it’s criticized for being from Zara, but ignoring the purists’ nonsense, there’s no one who doesn’t like it in the low-cost segment. It’s a perfume above average for today.

  • It smells like synthetic pineapple and pool chlorine. By an hour it’s skin-scent, and by three it’s gone. If you wear it, you’ll have to reapply constantly, and the synthetic note becomes obvious. Better to stick with the original Zara OVL. For 22 euros it’s not bad, but it’s not worth it. It’s a poor copy of Aventus. Don’t buy blindly—test it on skin and wait an hour before deciding.

  • To me, it smells like synthetic pineapple. After 30 minutes to an hour, it’s already skin-close, and by three hours, it’s gone. You’d have to keep reapplying it, and that synthetic note becomes more noticeable over time. You end up with a nose like after a session in the chlorinated pool. I’d rather stick with the original Zara OVL than this one. For 22 euros, you can’t ask for much, but honestly, it’s not worth it. It’s a bad copy of Aventus. Don’t buy blindly; test it on your skin, go outside for an hour, and then decide if it’s for you.

  • Vibrant Leather with a bit more fruitiness and cotton candy. I liked the opening and dry down, but later it became heavy and repetitive. I think it’s more for night than day, and works for any season. Surprisingly, it has good longevity and sillage; it lasted me longer than the new VL Winter, which follows the same path but is more woody and less sweet. If you like Aventus and BR, buy it.

  • I swapped it for The Icon Parfum which I wasn’t using. Great decision. I sense that low cotton candy sweet note, but I perceive a lot of the green bamboo and violet leaf nuance. Very citrusy opening, close to the heart of an unripe pineapple, sharp but pleasant. Then it sweetens, entering the green and fresh part, almost like freshly cut grass but rich. Lasts 5-6 hours, projecting for an hour or more. Total delight and I think they don’t sell it in my city anymore.

  • Josué González Céspedes

Excellent perfume, a combination of Creed Aventus with Baccarat Rouge 540 that is amazing, very similar to Supremacy Not Only Intense.

  • Excellent perfume, mixing that reminiscence of Vibrant Leather with sweet touches from Red Temptation that make it unique. I loved it and it has excellent performance. Here’s a top pick if you want to check it out.

  • Zara Vibrant Leather Explosion for the day, Supremacy Not Only Intense for the night. I really like this perfume.

  • It starts with Vibrant Leather, that basic Aventus clone from Zara, now joined by Explosion with a sweet-woody DNA similar to Baccarat Rouge. The citrus opening recalls the original but fades quickly, giving way to a warm, synthetic facet that comes in addictive waves. Nothing tries to be natural, and that’s part of its rebellious charm. Performance is very ‘Zara’: 3-4 hours before needing a reapplication, but without regrets since it costs less than a gin and tonic. Projection is correct; it doesn’t aim to blow minds, which is refreshing in summer. Quality doesn’t compete with the originals, but the price-to-quality ratio is another story. It’s not an explosion, but it smells better than others that cost triple, something the industry should consider when copying DNA without inventing anything.

  • A gem from Zara; I’ll always carry it. The opening reminds me of fresh, smoky Vibrant Leather, but soon that caramelized cotton candy trail appears and accompanies the whole fragrance. The longevity, projection, and sillage are unbeatable, very versatile, with excellent value for money. I recommend it.

  • Maxigb.perfumeman

Undoubtedly one of the best from Zara. If you like sweet perfumes with citrus hints, this is excellent. It lasts and projects like few others, simply a 10/10.

  • Sergioparfum

I love that they mixed the Aventus DNA with that sweet pineapple and cotton candy notes. The top is an amazing sweetened pineapple with a citrus and pepper opening, settling into an amber and patchouli base that smells great. After the initial burst, it becomes creamy. It’s versatile, except on very hot days, lasts 5-6 hours, and projects well.

  • Rick Azafranado

It’s a brutal flanker of Vibrant Leather. It starts with that classic smoky Aventus touch but quickly transforms into something caramelized like Baccarat Rouge. It’s not a clone; it has its own identity and excellent aromatic quality that makes it feel like a luxury perfume. Moderate performance—it’s not the ‘longest-lasting’ Zara product as some claim—but it’s 100% masculine, charming, and exquisite for any season or occasion.
