Kenzo Amour by Kenzo is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women. Launched in 2006, this composition was created by Daphné Bugey and Olivier Cresp. The perfume was honored with two awards: FiFi Award Fragrance of the Year Women's Nouveau Niche 2007 and FiFi Award Best Packaging Women's Luxe 2007.

Extremely creamy, smells like body lotion. It’s lovely, a little sweet but not cloying. Innocent.
This year I bought several new perfumes, and it’s sad to say this 2006 one is the novelty, haha. There’s a serious nose crisis; I think they should review their work. That said, here’s this marvel: modern, current, elegant, and rich beyond measure. It’s original, doesn’t smell like anything else, lasts hours on my skin, and seems to have white chocolate. I’d buy it again; it’ll be a staple in my winter collection, that’s for sure: winter, because in the heat it could be bothersome.
I don’t know how to write professional reviews, but since it came out, I’ve tried to keep it close. It’s perfectly vanillaized, almost like a candy, like a warm hug. I love the dry-down that lasts forever with that powdery, sweet aroma. If I had to choose just one fragrance, I’d stick with the old and beloved Amour. It’s true that it’s a bit much for summer.
A nice perfume, but too sweet for my taste. I only wear it in cool temperatures because it’s overwhelming; used to fresh fragrances, it feels different to me. I was gifted it for its unique bottle, but not for summer.
Kenzo Amour smells like a rice tart, milk, and vanilla sweetened just right. It’s enveloping and innocent, like candies, though the incense makes it more mature. I never liked the legendary Flower, but here I’ve reconciled with Kenzo. Like all sweet lactonic fragrances, it’s not for scorching summers; it’s for temperatures that don’t exceed 30 degrees.
I thought I’d love it based on reviews describing a dessert or rice pudding with cinnamon, but I didn’t get it. To my nose, the mix of white tea and rice clashed, and I never sensed the vanilla.
With this, I discovered what it feels like to be hugged and held. Kenzo Amour is a warm hug, peace, and tenderness. It was love at first sniff. I ordered it on paper and bought it online; it arrived just before winter and accompanied me through the coldest days. I think the colder it gets, the more its notes stand out. One day I wore it to the snow, and it was perfect. I adore its warm vanilla and that special rice note. I don’t see any similarity to Hypnotic Poison.
I’ve tried it a thousand times without deciding. I love the rice note, but the white tea confuses me and gets in the way between me and the vanilla. Still, it’s cozy and sensual. It reminds me of Hypnotic Poison but is more intense and projects better. It smells a lot like a rice pudding shampoo I’m addicted to (Garnier Delicatessen); if you haven’t tried that shampoo, it’ll give you the idea. It’s gourmand, spiced, and a little sweet, like a rice pudding and cinnamon dessert with nutmeg and a tiny bit of powdered sugar. The pink bottle suits it perfectly; it’s like a pink version of Hypnotic. It has a slightly plastic-y touch. It’s spring-autumn and casual nighttime.
I absolutely love this scent; that vanilla amplified by incense is incredible. Since I tried it, I’ve been obsessed with owning it. The downside: it doesn’t work for men, so I save it for intimate moments and just being with myself.
What a marvel! It’s beautiful, special, elegant, and feminine—definitely collection-worthy. It smells like a Japanese garden with cherry blossoms, a soft powdery touch, warm rice, gorgeous vanilla, and well-chosen flowers. If you imagine the scent of a geisha, this is it. It’s cozy, sexy, and addictive. I get tons of compliments, especially from men; it’s like a magnet. It lasts over 8 hours on my skin. The only issue: they discontinued and reformulated it. Now it lasts a breath and smells like nothing. What a shame to ruin such a treasure just to sell cheap designer knock-offs.
I love this perfume; many people love it when they smell it. I’ve worn it since it launched, and it stayed forever in my life.
It was my first ‘powdery’ scent and for a while it was my signature. Since I got a dryer, I fell in love with it and have received many compliments. The blend of vanilla, incense, and flowers is what hooked me. Even though I alternate with others now, it remains one of my favorites.
Stunning and special. I’d describe it as baby powder with a womanly scent. It lasts quite a bit but softens over time (only noticeable if someone gets close). Worth it, but ask for a sample first because it’s subtle if you’re used to strong perfumes. 8/10.
The problem is that it gets old; it’s one of those scents that cloy (even though I’m a gourmand). It’s not potent or heady, but it overwhelms me; it smells like rice lotion for a long time.
Beautiful fragrance. My sister had one, and every time I smell it, I remember those times. It’s a creamy talc scent, very feminine and vanilla-infused. Edit: the sillage and projection are very soft, but it lasted up to 9 hours on my skin.
I call it ‘pregnancy craving’. I smelled it while pregnant and loved it. It’s incredibly elegant, a blend of incense, cherry, and white tea. Out of caution, I asked for a break and they bought it for me. I spent my bedridden days until birth perfumed with this Kenzo Amour. I love this perfume and the story we lived through.
They gifted it to me, but it didn’t click; it’s super sweet and powdery, and that’s the note I smell the most. Hoping it runs out soon.
Warm, intimate, and serene. A vanilla-floral oriental without any harshness. The vanilla shifts between sweet-milky and dry-oriental. A Kenzo gem to enjoy anytime.
Smelling this made me think of ‘I want to get married’ and the vanilla rice from the song. Sweet and warm, perfect for winter with a cozy sweater and the heater on. Barely powdery, it reminds me of Hypnotic Poison but softer.
This is the most insipid scent with zero sillage; it smells like hand cream, completely lifeless.
Definitely, I don’t click with Kenzo. This perfume is lovely, but I just don’t like it; it gives me migraines, just like Flower. It must be the powdery note. The composition is beautiful, but it’s not for me.
It does become talcum-powdered (not in an overwhelming way like Ange ou Demon), and it is sweet and vanilla in a delicate manner… but one of its notes (maybe one of the flowers?) gives it a freshness during the first few minutes that feels completely out of place in a perfume that is otherwise so cozy. Fortunately, it only takes a couple of minutes for that note to fade into the background. It’s not the type of sweet perfume I usually like; it feels like a good gift for a mother or grandmother.
As soon as it’s sprayed, I smell a lot of alcohol, then it changes, and I detect a lot of rice with vanilla. As it dries down, the incense and flowers start to appear. It’s sweet but not cloying; for a moment, it reminded me of Armani Code Satin and Cashmere (probably due to the rice). At first, I loved it, but as I got to know new fragrances, I started setting it aside. For that reason, it doesn’t resemble Ilia Ser or Hypnotic Poison at all; those two are stronger, more oriental, and in the same style but nothing alike. Kenzo Amour is very talcum-powdered, powdery, and sweet—ideal for giving as a gift or treating yourself blindly; it won’t disappoint you. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 7/10 Packaging: 10/10 Versatility: 10/10 Value for Money: 9/10 Would I buy it again? NO.
The first Kenzo I ever smelled… At first, it seemed bland, nothing special, and too powdery, but to my pleasant surprise, it turned out to be a great discovery! I asked a kind saleswoman why Kenzo felt this way. Why is it bland at first and then radically transforms into something exquisite? She explained that perfumes containing oil take time to ‘process.’ This gives me the impression that it’s a quality fragrance; I was amazed. This is how a perfume should be! It’s not flat… it evolves. Kenzo is art to my nose, the richest and finest powdery vanilla I’ve smelled so far, and I’d love to wear it more often. I hope to add Kenzo Amour to my collection soon 💕
It’s a very strong perfume with great presence; many ladies compliment me when I wear it.
I find it very similar to Rochas’ Bizance, just softer and more subtle.
It’s perfect for any season. Sweet, powdery aroma, very long-lasting but not cloying. It’s soft and lasts on tough skin for at least 6 hours. Everyone loves it. I totally recommend it. 👌❤️
How can there be such an exquisite aroma, my God!
I bought this perfume back in 2007 when it was a new launch in my country and when good perfumes cost less than $100. I used it a lot but felt it was overwhelming, so I put it away in its box and let it gather dust. Today, 17 years later, while cleaning up my small collection, I decided to take it out and smell it again. Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I deprived myself of it for so long. It’s the best rice and vanilla scent I’ve ever smelled. I usually don’t like powdery notes, but here it’s so subtle. Definitely, aging turned it into a jewel. Absolutely wonderful.
What can I say about this perfume? It gives me mixed feelings. On one hand, the scent is truly addictive and original; I’m fascinated by its opening. It feels sweet, soft, vanilla-like, with citrus notes. It gives off a very delicate vibe, reminding me a bit of baby powder. My issue is that after a couple of hours, the incense note kicks in, and I just can’t handle it. It has no sillage, and the longevity also leaves something to be desired for the price. It fades right off the skin.
It’s beautiful; I bought it to layer with Hypnotic Poison… Best purchase of the year. The only downside is it’s discontinued; I’m going to stock up on more bottles. The drydown reminds me of Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, though the start is dominated by vanilla, rice, and a bit of tea. Why do they discontinue these treasures?
I’d love to own this work of art, but for now, I’m layering it with Dior’s Hypnotic Poison. The result is very similar once they settle. But I miss the opening of Kenzo Amour with its rice note.
I think it’s wonderful. Sweet, creamy, and sophisticated, in the Kenzo line (I’m a fan, and it shows). It has an air of Flower but with a powdery twist; I guess the rice note influences that. It doesn’t have huge sillage or nuclear longevity, but it stays close to the skin for a few hours, so why would I want more?
We’re in the middle of winter, one of the coldest in Chile, and I feel like this perfume is like being cozy, drinking a rich tea with the heater on and my dog on my lap.
I’ve discovered perfection. A beautiful perfume, inside and out—soft, sweet, powdery, and oriental. Elegant. A work of art.
Have you ever had lemon milk tea? That’s what I get—less lemon, but that warm, powdery tea note at the perfect point (it smells like talc). Even though it came out years ago, it doesn’t smell vintage. Monclear definitely feels vintage to me, and I can’t stand it. This one is more subtle and rounded. I think it works anytime, but I prefer it on cool days. An aroma that’s a hug for the soul.
I was surprised by the evolution: starts as vanilla, then fades into floral notes with tea and a creamy vanilla (no milky milk vibe) and a woody base. I didn’t detect the incense; it was very subtle. I suspect the rice gives that powdery talc-like trail that lingers everywhere. At two hours, it reminded me of Hypnotic Poison, but it’s much softer and lacks that synthetic almond note that many dislike. Ultimately, the wood wins with a citrus and floral touch. Lasted about four hours on the tester with moderate sillage. Beautiful, inviting, warm without being invasive. Perfect for an autumn afternoon.
A true beauty: a subtle, fine vanilla cream. Lasts many hours, though I don’t feel much projection. Very similar to Hypnotic Poison EDT. The bottle is gorgeous; I’d buy it again.
Winter vanilla, very wearable. I’ve owned it multiple times. Projection is weak, but longevity is great, especially on clothes.
It’s been my signature since it launched. I try other things, but I always come back to it. Projects like crazy—literally a waterfall of compliments 💖
