A fragrance with a powerful opening where pink pepper dominates the rest of the notes. After an hour, I perceive it close to the skin, with sweet notes where vanilla stands out. Therefore, its scent is good, original, and ideal for a date. As for performance, it’s acceptable: it projects well during the first hour and then moves to close-to-skin. Although I must say its longevity is very decent, as it can still be perceived for 7 or 8 hours after application.
An AB perfume that, without expecting anything, surprised me too much. More, it will never be missing from my small collection again. A distinct, exquisite, addictive, and incredibly sexy scent, somewhat versatile and suitable for almost any occasion at a very low cost. In summary, for me, it smells like vanilla mixed with paprika; although clearly the paprika part is due to the pink pepper and possibly cardamom, the whole mixture gives a spicy, sparkling, paprika-like vanilla sensation. I totally recommend it: 10 out of 10. If you want something very low-cost, different, and sexy, buy it without thinking, but be careful, it’s not a typical scent; if you don’t like it, give it a thousand chances.
I love it; it’s very affordable but has a unique aroma: it smells like tobacco, wood, and spices. Women love it whenever they smell it. Among the many others I own, this is in the top 3 of my collection. It’s already the second bottle I’ve bought, and it doesn’t disappoint on scent or longevity; with a bit of over-application, you can wear it all day. 9/10.
This was my favorite fragrance of 2017; that rich scent. I stopped using it for a few years, bought it back a few weeks ago, but I’m not sure if it’s because it’s summer where I live now or what; I feel like it doesn’t last at all compared to what I bought in 2017. Maybe they reformulated it. The scent is good, but it doesn’t perform; it’s only good for short outings.
At first sniff, it’s very similar to Encre Noire À L’Extrême. If you like this type of fragrance and want a more affordable option to spray without worry, I highly recommend it.
It was my signature fragrance for a while because, even though I have many, whenever I let women pick their favorite, they’ve preferred it or it’s in their top 3. I don’t know if it smells like Red Tobacco by Mancera, but if it does, I want to buy that.
Probably the best quality-to-price perfume. The pink pepper and vanilla are very prominent with a distinctly masculine touch. Outstanding longevity: it lasts 12 hours on my skin and 4 days on clothes. The sillage is good, and the price is a steal: good, beautiful, and very cheap.
Does anyone else immediately think of Kokorico by JPG? I applied both on my forearms, and Kokorico stands out a bit more, smelling of fig, but as they fade, they become very similar. If anyone shares this impression, let me know.
I was looking for something affordable for dates and, seeing YouTube videos, I got swept away by reviews promising seduction. Is it seductive? Yes, but I recommend testing before buying; I bought blind and I regret it. The scent isn’t bad, but it doesn’t fascinate me, and I can’t see myself wearing it; maybe it just doesn’t develop well on my skin. Just to clarify, I have the worst skin possible and wear perfumes to the extreme, so keep that in mind. My take: very spicy opening and weird dry down. The sweetness only appears when the oil mixes with my sweat; otherwise, it stays very linear. Longevity isn’t great, about a solid 3 hours; after that, you have to press your nose to smell it, and it’s barely noticeable. Projection and sillage are light. It feels excessively synthetic. If you’re a young man, it’s not for daily wear; it looks weird wearing it at 3 PM, so it’s definitely for night. If you’re over 25, it might work in the office. Scent: 6/10, Quality: 7, Longevity: 6, Projection: 6, Versatility: 4, Compliments: 6, Blind Buy: 2, Overall: 5. Age: +25, Season: fall/winter. I don’t recommend it; there are better options.
In my opinion, it smells just as bad, if not worse, than cheap supermarket perfumes. It’s the worst of the Banderas +7 line I’ve ever tried. A total disaster.
I bought it blindly based on recommendations and a coupon deal. Great citrus opening with pepper; the vanilla stands out, and in my case, it lasted a solid 8 hours. The only thing I didn’t like is the absinthe—it adds a bitterness I don’t enjoy, though it’s not as strong as the rhubarb in Kaiak Aero. Taste is subjective; I recommend trying it before buying.
The scent is strong; there’s a slightly unpleasant bitter note noticeable right after spraying that lingers until it dries, accompanying the pepper, vanilla, and spicy-woody notes.
Not a WOW scent, but it’s worth the price and does its job. I’ve even received compliments.
Ugh, first off: don’t buy blindly; the pepper note is strong and might not be to everyone’s taste. Second, it’s very potent—3-4 sprays are enough. I own other scents from the same brand where I usually use 5-7, so I was overconfident and ended up o.o. As a bartender, I walked into the kitchen and the cooks on the other side of the pass could smell me; someone even asked, ‘Who bathed in perfume?’ Lasting power is normal for the price, about 4-5 hours: 1-2 sprays project, the rest stay in the personal bubble. I wear it for night outs; it’s flirty.
Very delicious aroma.
I don’t own it right now, only tested it. Not bad, it caught my attention. Soft and pleasant spicy identity. Worth considering.
Agrees with those who say it reminds them of Kokorico JPG; both are good, but Kokorico is more popular with women. I’ve compared them, and I’ve never received compliments wearing this one. I think it’s a matter of personal taste or just very soft; maybe only the wearer finds it heavy. Kokorico smells like chocolate with woods, while this one is like chocolate with strawberries. I lean toward Kokorico, but if I’m sticking with AB, this is the one I like the most.
Pleasant but not standout. I got it as a gift because of the forum hype. I can definitely smell the pink pepper. Poor longevity and sillage. I use it occasionally for my daily routine. For the price, there are better options in Cuba, Bogart, or Natura. I won’t be getting it again.
A striking scent that I like and dislike at the same time, hard to explain. It has a complex note on my nose that I can’t quite identify. I don’t wear it on my neck for daily use because of that, but sometimes I apply it to my arm to enjoy it in a more controlled way.
Very aromatic, woody, and vanilla-based, with a subtle blend that makes it unique: spicy, sweet, and spiced. The development of pepper, vanilla, and oud gives it a medicinal, synthetic touch, but it’s perfect for exploring that note. Projection and longevity are excellent for the price; definitely worth it. From The Secret, it’s my favorite. Seductive, different, and versatile—I wear it casually almost year-round. Very similar to 1 Million.
First off: I recommend it, but it’s a strong scent that might not be for everyone. It’s flirtatious, playful, and sexy with a certain spark. I’ve had it since 2017 and am already on my second bottle. I don’t recommend it for daily use; wear it for a date or a night out. During the day too, but better for special occasions. I’ve worn it many times for those events and always received compliments (my experience, of course; others may feel it differently). For the price, it’s a good buy, but test it first: remember that 3–4 sprays are enough. Scent 8–10, sillage 7–10, longevity 7.5–10 (it lasts quite a while for me).
Secret Temptation is a super-spicy fragrance at the start; you can feel the pepper, basil, and vanilla. It works for day and night, office and after-work, leaning towards cold weather. Note: I don’t feel it’s for daily use; although it’s low-cost, it has pretty good performance and can sometimes be overwhelming. I see it as perfect to pair with a leather jacket and go out on a motorcycle; it has something rebellious. It’s the best Antonio Banderas fragrance I’ve had so far, with excellent quality. Would I buy it again? Yes, the quality-to-price ratio is unbeatable.
Excellent fragrance. The scent is simply exquisite, conquering, and overly rich. The flaw? Longevity… it barely makes it 4 hours, lucky break, but on clothes, the fixation is brutal. I have a leather jacket I wear only with this perfume and spray it to keep the scent there; it never leaves. It smells spicy and sweet, but not like bubblegum; rather, something natural. Super recommended: if you catch it on sale (like I did), it’s a cheap perfume to use until you’re worn out. I always keep a decant and reapply every 2 hours on the street, and I smell that delicious opening all day.
Smells very similar to PDM’s Layton and is 10 times cheaper. A top-tier alternative, honestly. This has been one of the cheap perfumes that surprised me the most; it’s strange that it doesn’t have more hype.
What a rich fragrance! Its opening is sweet, spicy, woody, and spiced. It starts strong and delicious, though the intensity fades, the sweetness lingers. Honestly, it doesn’t last very long, but I recommend it heaps for the office. Edit: What a gem! I don’t understand why it doesn’t have more hype; I absolutely love it. I’m a lover of modern sweet fragrances, and this has impressed me with its performance; it’s cheap and smells like a serious, modern man. Longevity is around 4–5 hours, so don’t overapply on cool nights.
It’s so rewarding to know that there are still proposals that take risks and offer experiences that stray from the norm at a very reasonable price. This The Secret Temptation does it with great class. The scent description is well-explained in previous reviews, where I agree: a strong, spiced opening, a green and floral development, and an intensely masculine sweet and woody base. The whole is a playful yet not silly fragrance, seductive without being vulgar, attractive without inciting gluttony, and quite adult in terms of character, not necessarily age. It projects little from the mid-phase and stays on the skin for a few hours, but the quality-to-price ratio is excellent. I think it’s very advisable to test it several times on your skin, as it has that acquired-taste characteristic of spiced fragrances that mutate into sweet/woody notes. It’s not the same quality, but something similar happens with Xeryus Rouge, which becomes more pleasant and enjoyable with use (note: they don’t smell the same). I’m coming to love Puig’s (Antonio Banderas) fragrance division more and more. I’m not talking about all their proposals, but their philosophy: products that aren’t excessively groundbreaking but offer quality that surpasses the price; they aren’t all tremendously original, yet they don’t just repeat themselves. Highly recommended.
From Argentina. The rewarding part is knowing this scent plays it differently. The opening is strong and tends to settle quickly into something more woody. It can be very intense at first (maybe too much), but later, when it softens, that addictive and distinct base note leaves you speechless. The longevity is pretty good for an Antonio Banderas creation; I think it’s one of the jewels in the line. Very rich, suitable for any occasion—well-dressed outings, nights out, or just hanging out at home or at school. Recommended.
I absolutely love this fragrance: it starts fresh and herbal with a touch of red fruits, then evolves into a vanilla note until it resembles its siblings ‘The Golden Secret’ and ‘The Secret,’ but in my opinion, it smells quite original.
This was my favorite fragrance for years—an incredible scent I didn’t appreciate until I dove into the world of perfumery. It opens with red fruits and a floral base, accented by a soft, pleasant pepper note that isn’t spicy like Wanted by Night. The dry-down is wonderful: sweet and woody, reminding me of the sweetness of caramel apples but with herbal spices that make it feel very masculine and exquisite. It makes you want to keep the scent right at your nose whenever possible. It’s strange that no one compares it to Polo Red; on my skin, they have a similar evolution, though Secret Temptation is more complex, deeper, and has more development. An incredible fragrance; for this price, I haven’t tried anything so different and charming (excluding Arabes). I recommend it 100%—I don’t think anyone will dislike it. Ideal for spring, though I wore it in hot summers and still received compliments. Scent: 10/10, lasts 6 hours on my skin, sillage 5/10 (doesn’t fill rooms but creates charm on warm nights). Versatility 5/10 (I used to wear it daily, now it’s for dates or intimate moments). Age: 16–30; beyond that, it seems too youthful due to the sweet apple note.
Is it worth it in 2024?
I bought the 30ml version and at first the opening is chaotic; you notice a lot of pepper, bergamot, and cardamom, all a bit disordered. But it lasts barely a minute, then the cardamom, vanilla, and woods come through, making it rich, with a fresh touch of bergamot. It’s a rich perfume, nothing groundbreaking, but informal and great for playful young dates. I see it for people aged 16 to 30. It lasts about 5-6 hours and projects a 2. For the price, it’s good and improves a lot over time, becoming sexy.
I didn’t like it at all. It’s like not wearing perfume: it doesn’t last, doesn’t project, and in my opinion, it’s not worth it.
I stumbled upon it at my dad’s house, who wears bold colognes. I tried it and it was a shocker: it smells incredible. Spicy, aromatic, mysterious, and captivating. That said, it doesn’t last at all.
It was my dad’s perfume when I was a kid. I like it and it evokes that era; he sometimes wore it to go out for that vanilla sweetness and pink pepper. It’s not youthful, better for dinners or special events. The downside is the reformulations: nowadays it lasts a maximum of three hours, what a shame. Would I recommend it? No. There are better options in the brand, like the ‘The Icon’ line, which is more versatile for all ages.
Rich scent for everyday wear. To my nose, it has red fruit accords, sweet but without being cloying or annoying, ideal for any weather except extreme heat; on a mild summer afternoon, it’s a 10. It doesn’t last long, but for the price, it’s worth reapplying.
Hidden gem from the brand. Not many talk about it, but it’s incredible: very spicy, woody, and vanilla-like, something unusual but that I love. Projection and sillage are brutal for the first two hours, then they drop, but it’s still very noticeable. If you like complex scents, consider it.
Dry, spicy, aromatic, with woods and vanilla… It sounds weird, and honestly, it just doesn’t quite convince me.
I loved this when I was 13 and still remember it with so much fondness after not smelling it for so long. It’s a scent that holds a piece of my childhood.
I have the 2017 batch and it’s a beast for the price: fills the room and easily lasts 10 hours on skin. The problem is I don’t see daily use in it; the pepper note just doesn’t convince me, so the bottle is still almost full despite all the compliments. It doesn’t seduce me.
I wear the EDT version and it hooked me completely. What really grabs me is that pink pepper note, but be warned: the sillage is moderate, almost intimate, and the projection is minimal; you notice it, but others barely do. Thanks for trying it.
