It’s obvious that it’s a ‘blue’ fragrance, but with more packaging and presence than typical Antonio Banderas ones, it seems to compete as ‘low cost’ against Bleu, Sauvage, etc. The opening feels synthetic, pepper dominates. The dry-down is very fast (10-15 min) and then lavender takes over with woody touches. Longevity is about 5-6 hours, but very close to the skin by then. Suitable for daily life, work, or formal situations. It smells good and gets compliments, but its performance is typical of AB: after a short time, it’s only noticeable up close and the synthetic touch makes it not seem to have the same quality as the designers it competes against.

  • If it lasted longer, it would be a good perfume, similar to Sauvage. But it projects for less than an hour… It’s like not wearing perfume at all. I categorize it as a perfumed water without fixation.

  • Antonio Banderas – The Icon. A modern and sophisticated fragrance for the charismatic man looking to make a good impression. Woody profile, ideal for daily wear and special occasions. Opens with fresh citrus: grapefruit, bergamot, and black pepper, vibrant and spicy. Heart of lavender and sage, aromatic and herbal. Base of sandalwood and oakmoss, warm and earthy. Very affordable price. Warning: low longevity, bring a decant for reapplication. Scent 9/10: citrusy, spicy, herbal, woody. Longevity 5/10: average, fades quickly. Projection 6.5/10: good, noticeable up close. Conclusion: sophisticated and elegant experience, citrusy and spicy notes with a warm base. Stands out for charisma and versatility. Highly recommended. Satisfactory and meets expectations.

  • Very good perfume, pleasant aroma. It’s not a Sauvage but it has its own thing, which makes it interesting. 7 out of 10.

  • SinLimites

For any occasion, although I enjoy it more in cold weather. It doesn’t last long on skin, but it’s worth it if you’re just starting out, especially due to the cost. 7/10.

  • I just finished my bottle from the end of 2020. Final verdict: good price, good presentation (I like it more than other expensive designer ones). It’s blue, similar to Sauvage EDT. Good for intermediate seasons; it performs poorly in the cold and feels suffocating in the heat. It’s a go-to for daily wear or Christmas gifts. You get bored if you use it too often; in fact, I’ve disliked it lately and it’s cost me to finish it. Projection is good for the first 30 minutes. Longevity is 4 hours (3 sprays on skin). On clothes, it lasts a bit longer, but very close to the skin, no trail. Price is 20 euros. Would I buy it again? NO. There are cheaper proposals with equal or better performance.

  • Good, pretty, and cheap. I like the opening, but then comes the bad part: it lasts like an hour with 12 sprays and trails for half an hour. The 200ml bottle costs about 22 euros. I get compliments for the first hour and then it’s skin scent. I use it in summer and spring; it reminds me a bit of Versace Eros but for 5 minutes. I recommend it for the price and for personal enjoyment; it’s synthetic but it’s the third bottle I’ve bought. It smells masculine, spicy, citrusy, and sweet, turning amber at the end. If you catch the big 200ml bottle for 20 or 25, it’s worth it.

  • Hi, something is off with this perfume. I used it years ago and everything was great, I got compliments, but when I bought it again, it disappointed me a bit. Still, it’s cheap, so, well, it gets the job done.

  • For me, it’s the best of Antonio Banderas: masculine, fresh, sweet, and striking. It’s one of my favorites from the line. The longevity is weak, but for the price, it’s the best you can find in the mid-range.

  • I bought a 200 ml bottle on sale during Black Friday and was disappointed by the hype surrounding this fragrance. Note, I’m not saying the scent is ugly because it’s not 100%; the opening is the most delicious and fresh thing you can smell in the global perfume industry today, but as it dries down, it becomes a soulless perfume… all that fresh grapefruit that makes you fall in love disappears in 30 minutes and transforms into a plain lavender and pepper scent. As for longevity, it projects for an hour, then only close to the skin and on clothes for another four hours, and all of this while spraying generously between 10 and 15 times. Ideal perfume for short outings of one or two hours, like going to the grocery store or the gym any time of the year (except in extreme cold) and during the day. It fulfills its function as a blue fragrance, but it’s the worst in the The Icon line.

  • At 20, I get compliments from people of all ages. It’s an easy-to-please scent, and around here, nothing compares, which makes it exclusive. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It has an amber touch, the citrus notes are exquisite, and it stays true thanks to the pepper without being annoying. I loved it!

I’ve had it for over a year. At first, it smells fresh and masculine, but with time, it develops a very sharp and incisive citrus note that causes fatigue, so I choose it less and less. It has that synthetic grapefruit very present at the start, and then underneath settles a prickliness of pepper that gives it that spicy touch. Its longevity is quite bad; no trail or projection over time; on skin, if I get an hour and a half, that’s a lot, after which you have to get very close to feel it. I don’t know much about sage or moss, and they don’t have significant presence. That loud, tiring citrus thing at the beginning.

  • The best in the line, rich, citrusy, and fresh. The longevity is a bit poor, but it’s a more original scent than its siblings.

  • The Icon by Antonio Banderas… smells charming, but the only reason it doesn’t hook me is that it doesn’t have great performance. Although it’s a potent scent, that power lasts an hour before turning into a spicy perfume, though very rich up close.

  • Don’t spend the money; it’s the fragrance with the least longevity and projection in history.

  • I bought it in 2021, right when I arrived in Uruguay. Back then, it had a very potent aroma that projected intensely for two hours, with a heavy trail that soaked the area where you went. The Icon is from the Dior Sauvage line, though it doesn’t aim to copy it directly. At first, it combines grapefruit, lavender, and lots of black pepper, a blend that was very well done at the time. As it dries down, sandalwood comes in, though the citrus still dominates. Back in the day, it was the best fragrance you could get for that price. Very versatile, even decent for winter. I’ve read lately that it’s been reformulated several times, which has affected the performance greatly; it no longer lasts more than four hours, with no projection or trail. It’s a pity it’s not worth it anymore. There are several flankers that last longer than the one that was the star of the low-cost fragrances. What a shame.

I picked this up without much enthusiasm, and look, it’s not a bad thing, but it didn’t really surprise me. It smells quite a bit like Dior Sauvage, though with less wood, and honestly, it projects well; very good for a fifteen-euro perfume. I’ve gotten several compliments, mostly from men (you can tell it smells masculine), until they confused me with Versace Dylan Blue, but since I haven’t tried that one, I’m not sure if that’s true. On my skin, it lasts three or four hours, so if you’re going to a long event, you’ll need to reapply. In short, it’s a good scent, rich, reminiscent of an office, formal and put-together, bringing compliments… Although I think there are cheaper options, it’s one of the best in terms of quality-to-price ratio.

  • Fragranticman

First things first, let me clarify that this has nothing to do with Dior Sauvage or Versace Dylan Blue. Absolutely not. I’ve spent over half a liter of both, know them inside and out, and they have not a single point in common with this fragrance. They are different scents, very different, and of very different qualities. What I’m saying isn’t good or bad, it’s a fact I want to make clear. Those who know all three fragrances know this is the case. The only thing this could be categorized as is that this is AB’s “blue fragrance” proposal. Nothing more. It has a sweet citrus opening, peppery, with a subtly woody green touch, with a certain metallic character. That’s all. It’s a great scent, a simple and infallible formula considering the price. Masculine and with its own charm. Of course, it’s not a super fragrance, with hyper-realistic notes or beast mode, nor elegant, nor novel, but honestly, you can’t ask for that. It is a good scent, charming, one I’ll keep up with because it’s very well made and very economical, without smelling cheap. I paid 19.50 euros for 200 ml. A steal. It has the usual performance issue of AB fragrances, but since it’s so cheap, there’s no problem reapplying. Extremely versatile, from the most informal to semi-formal, it won’t let anyone down. I don’t see it for summer or winter; autumns and springs are its best seasons, 20-25 degrees ideal. It’s a BBB: Good, Beautiful, and Cheap.

The Icon EDT is a well-executed blue fragrance proposal by Antonio Banderas. It’s a rich, easy-to-please aroma that might remind you a bit of Dior Sauvage, but if you’re looking for a Sauvage dupe, this isn’t it. It’s a versatile fragrance, good for day, night, heat, and cold (not extreme cold), rather for a fresh morning with a light sweater. I would categorize it as an inspiration; although they share elements, I wouldn’t say with certainty that it’s a clone of Sauvage. For me, the opening reminds me of a Zara perfume I was gifted years ago, W/END Till 3:00am in the blue bottle. As it dries down, it starts to resemble Club de Nuit Urban Man Elixir a bit, but much less intensely, more toned down, with lower longevity and very poor sillage and projection, which I must highlight are very weak. Longevity is 4-5 hours on skin, almost disappearing by the fifth hour, with a light sillage and zero projection. I bought the 200 ml for $29, a good price to reapply when necessary. It’s my go-to fragrance when I don’t know what to wear to school and don’t want to spend. Generally, the 200 ml is close in price to the 100 ml, so if you see it on sale or the difference is small, buy the 200 ml. It will be one of my fragrances for this summer; with this scent, you don’t bother anyone, it’s a good fragrance, but only good, not extraordinary or one that raises eyebrows. To make it noticeable, you’d have to get very close and it hasn’t been 4 hours since you applied it. It’s a fulfilling fragrance, especially for the price. If you’re looking for something light with a slight Sauvage reminiscence, versatile, and economical, this is a good option. Best regards.

After using The Icon EDT for four years and buying several bottles, I noticed that this latest one with a 2024 date seems to have been reformulated, and from the scent point of view, it has improved because the pepper note has been lowered, so it’s no longer so spicy and sharp, and the lavender and sage notes have been increased. Now it’s a sweeter, ambered, neat, and fresh scent. I’ve bought two 200 ml bottles for 20 euros each; the price is great and I think it fulfills very well what you pay for. It’s true that you have to reapply, but it’s definitely worth it. I use it as a daily perfume in spring and summer, and it revitalizes me; I’ve received compliments when wearing it. Although it’s not a bomb, the quality-price ratio is a good choice. The bottle is very pretty and different from the first one. Surely it had a final reformulation that improved its profile. What I like most is the opening, with pepper, grapefruit, and a fresh touch of sage; then lavender appears, quite natural, neat, and clean, with a certain touch of moss and oak that give it character, and an ambered, sweet base until the end. I give it three stars… Good, pretty, and cheap. P.S. If you find the 100 ml for 10 or 13 euros, it’s worth it, but I recommend the 200 ml for 20 or 24 euros.

  • It’s one of the best Antonio Banderas fragrances overall, fresh and very pleasant for hot and temperate climates. Its longevity is a 10 for its price (4-6 hours); I repeat, it’s a potent option in affordable fresh spicy scents. The pepper opening combined with grapefruit makes every spray remind you it was a good choice. To be clear, I’ll say the bottle feels like very high quality, giving the impression of being much more expensive. Out of the wide range of fresh scents, I won’t say which one to choose over this or a similar one because we’d enter a long debate about tastes, but if you catch it on sale and you like types like “Sauvage” or “YSL” without your wallet crying out, go for it without thinking.

  • I think it’s a very good aroma, fresh, aromatic, and masculine, perfect for the office in hot weather. Although it’s not very sophisticated or offers anything new, it’s very easy to like, like the “safe option” to smell good in daily life because it smells nice and is cheap. The only issue is that it has very little projection, being a very personal sillage (which isn’t bad if you’re looking for discretion) and a longevity of at least 4 hours on skin, which is limited, but at such a low price, it shouldn’t be a problem to reapply when necessary.

  • Rick Azafranado

It’s a nice, discreet, pleasant, and non-invasive fragrance. For the price, it’s good; $17 in Chile is a steal. Beautiful bottle and good atomizer. Marine-woody notes with a very subtle musk. Suitable for any occasion. 7/10.

  • The first time I tried it, I could only say it “smells like a gentleman,” and that’s exactly what it is. You can tell there’s some inspiration from Sauvage, I suppose the perfume is decent, but it’s not a big deal. That said, the opening doesn’t seem very pleasant to me, and I also don’t think it lasts that long.

  • Ilanelallan

I bought it after testing it in-store, and my girlfriend absolutely loved it for that well-defined masculine scent. It has a fresh, sharp opening, then settles into a more personal scent that invites closeness. In my opinion, it’s a safe option at a very good price. Its weakness might be longevity (it depends on the skin), but nothing a pocket tester can’t solve. It can be used day or night; in the latter case, it’s performed better.

  • I bought it blind because I’m just starting out with perfumes, and honestly, I love it: fresh, citrusy, with a woody touch. The only thing I don’t like is its sillage; it stays on the skin but doesn’t project enough. It lasts about 3 to 6 hours, and for the price, it’s a great deal. If I had to buy it again, I would for the fragrance itself, which is rich, but it falls short in other aspects…

  • The Icon by Antonio Banderas is an interesting proposal from his own house. It smells great and, for the price, it’s totally understandable. It’s a simple fragrance, without pretensions of grabbing attention. I find it very light, ideal for a morning or a cold day. It looks good, but in my case, it doesn’t last long on the skin. It’s not bad, but like others in this line, the projection and sillage are weak. It doesn’t last that long, so if you’re looking for something cheap that lasts, it’s hard to recommend. It has an exquisite and very summery scent; it’s a pity that the longevity and projection leave expectations half-met. 6.3/10

  • All I want is for it to last much longer. It’s like that get-together with friends you enjoy so much but ends way too quickly. It feels like a fragrance with a lot of personality. It’s a bit like Sauvage, but come on, this has its own character. Sauvage is spicier. The opening hits you with that sharp, acidic grapefruit, then lavender. Finally, at 30 minutes, the moss kicks in and the perfume leans into fougère territory. I don’t smell much of the saffron they claim, but it’s a shame it only lasts about 3 hours max, after which it’s skin scent and you have to try hard to detect it. I hope they improve the composition.

  • I let the perfume macerate for a year, just sitting there while I tested others. I’ve been wearing two bottles of this one I left to age. When I tried it again, the performance improved by an extra hour. To top it off (though some purists might want to call me out), I left another month in the fridge, and they don’t know the beast it turned into. It lasts on my skin without issue for 8 hours. On clothes, it never fades. If I take it out of the cold, it drops to 6 hours with a moderate trail. Cold, it’s unstoppable. Lots of compliments.

  • Like most of Banderas’s line, these are beautiful, rich perfumes with poor longevity. You get a sweet citrus opening with lavender, and after a while, in my case, a slight pepper presence. I’ve read some say it has a touch of Sauvage; it might briefly lead you there, but only for a moment. It’s economical and rich, only criticizable for its short lifespan.

  • A fresh, woody men’s perfume, a great option for the price. The only regrettable thing is the longevity, but otherwise, it’s a fantastic scent.

  • Personally, it’s a rich perfume with a great price. It has a very sweet grapefruit note, nothing cloying. I’m not sure if it’s because I bought it two weeks ago, but it lasts a maximum of an hour on my skin. I’m testing it in summer, so I’ll let it macerate to use it in milder weather.

  • Great perfume for gifting or if you want something fresh for a quick outing. It’s one of those scents everyone loves—fresh and spicy, a safe blind buy. The downside is the longevity, but otherwise, it’s a very good fragrance. 8.7/10.

  • At first, I didn’t like it because the pepper stood out, giving a salty, spicy vibe, but over time the sweet and woody notes emerged. I love it. I bought a 200ml bottle for under $20, so at this price, it’s a guaranteed blind buy. This and the Mediterranean are Antonio Banderas’s best for me.

  • You get what you pay for. It’s a rich perfume with notes that actually work. If I need to head out quickly, I spray this to smell fresh, soft, and masculine without expecting to stand out or draw attention. It’s not sparkly or projective; it lasts about 3 to 4 hours with a personal scent trail, so it’s great for everyday wear. From the line, I recommend the Elixir: it has more power and beast mode, though the scent shifts to become more marine.

  • Exquisite and addictive, a charming all-rounder that doesn’t last long. Scents like this make you can’t stop sniffing your own skin. 10/10.

  • If it shares any DNA with Sauvage, it’s only in the first 30 seconds. The true essence of The Icon is straight-up lavender with an almost marine freshness that leans more toward the Invictus universe than Dior.
