This fragrance was to smell, love, and want forever with me. Sweet and creamy neroli, with that fruity and cozy touch of fig… and that sweet woody base of sandalwood that anchors it and gives it, I think, a more imposing character. I’m totally obsessed with this scent. Projection and longevity over 10 hours, well, with the quality of this perfume house. I can’t recommend it more. That said, for cold climates because it can be cloying.
Well, I just tried the decant. My sense of smell is super basic, I don’t know if I can help. If you don’t like woods, this isn’t your perfume. I was guided by the neroli and fig, and yes, the neroli is very noticeable. I barely smell the fig and there’s a lot of sandalwood and woody scent. Notice that the men’s version has chestnuts, so that note suits my nose better… It’s original, yes. It smells good, yes. It would be ideal for autumn/spring (or even winter) and perfect for night. I think it’s not for everyone and it didn’t captivate me. Neither here nor there. I see it as too complex for daily wear, those notes are heavy. On top of that, I had the same luck as with L’Interdit, it gives me a slight allergy. A blind buy disaster. The excitement…
I really want to know if everyone who voted on ‘reminds me of’ has actually tried and used it properly; I highly doubt it resembles what’s listed there.
The juiciness and sweetness of ripe black fig? Absolutely! The almost sticky sweetness of neroli? Of course! The creaminess and depth of sandalwood? Yes! I definitely want it in my collection NOW! ❤️ (So sad to see angry faces over this perfume, people this toxic make Fragrantica the Twitter of perfumes, they don’t even know the perfume and already act like a jerk 🤷🏻♀️).
I wanted it to be yes and no🥀. Opens with cheerful green neroli, but once it dries down, it loses all cheerfulness. The intensity goes up and it smells almost aggressive wood with a leather touch, while the neroli becomes sticky. I love neroli flowers but hate sticky neroli. The fig isn’t there at all. It reminds me of L’Interdit EDP Rouge by Givenchy; if you like that, you’ll probably like Absolu. It’s feminine, with decent longevity and sillage. For me, the best in the line remain Scandal and Scandal By Night🌙. Absolu didn’t convince me.
It doesn’t resemble Scandal By Night, what a pity they killed By Night in favor of this 🙁
The sandalwood is so dense it swallowed everything. End of story. Haha, it doesn’t resemble By Night, don’t get your hopes up 😆
Just tried it today and I disagree with many reviews here: to me, it’s very similar to By Night and the classic Scandal. I think it has honey even though it’s not listed; the wood is more noticeable, and the fig… you can’t really smell it. It’s potent, like all its ‘sisters’.
It’s like if By Night put on a summer suit for the day: Divine is fresher at first, while By Night stays more nocturnal. This one works well for both occasions.
You can detect the fig and sandalwood. When I applied it, it smelled honeyed and even lactonic, like a Greek dessert with green and woody nuances. It’s soft, velvety, and very sensual for my taste. When I can, it will be mine. I must say the neroli doesn’t seem as exaggerated here as in L’Interdit.
I loved the fragrance; I notice it’s similar to By Night but without the same power or projection. Although it’s very sweet, I don’t detect much fig on my skin, just delicious neroli and honey. It has the original Scandal DNA. In my opinion, if you like the predecessors, you’ll like this too. It’s easy to wear, I think it’s versatile for day and night, and great in fresh climates.
I’ve seen the notes and the reviews, and now I don’t know if I’ve even tried this perfume. I don’t perceive any of the listed notes; I smell coconut and something sunscreen-like. It reminded me a lot of So Scandal in terms of sweetness and creaminess, though with a twist toward coconut-vanilla. I loved it; it has projection and lasts about five to six hours on my skin.
Honestly, I don’t understand the listed notes. At first, it smells like super intense coconut, and in the dry down it resembles By Night a bit, with that coconut, lots of honey, and lots of neroli. I went in happy to try it hoping for a more mature and woody version, but there’s no wood. Maybe it shows up a little in the dry down and gets confused with the honey. It’s good and I want it because I’m a JPG fan, but honestly, it’s not that different from what’s already on the market.
Honestly, people rate the 4 to 6-hour longevity and sillage as amazing and powerful for these market prices… I’m blown away.
My favorite perfume years ago was Scandal By Night, and since it’s discontinued, I tried this new flanker with hope because they say it’s very similar. In my opinion, Scandal Absolu is rich, sweet, and addictive; you know it’s from the Scandal family as soon as you smell it, but I don’t find it very similar to By Night. The main difference is the coconut, which I detect from the opening all the way to the dry down, making it quite different. I liked it a lot, but if I have to choose, I’ll stick with the classic Scandal which is still on the market.
It’s super sweet, honeyed, creamy, and fruity, all very well blended. I really liked it; it has a sexy and elegant side, ideal for night outs and very nice for cold weather. The honey feels a bit sharp on me, but it’s a great perfume and I clearly smell the By Night DNA.
I think this is the best-balanced Scandal on the market. It keeps the classic DNA but with creamier, less harsh neroli. It retains the sweetness of By Night but is much calmer and more harmonious. Good longevity and sillage, though I notice it doesn’t last as long as the discontinued By Night. In short: if you don’t own any Scandal, this is the one I recommend. If you already have the classic or By Night, don’t spend more until you finish them. If you’re on TikTok, check out my reviews @estefybonham.
I love it. My favorite perfume used to be By Night, and yes, I can use this as a substitute because, to me, it’s in the same line with a very similar personality. What a joy.
It smells more like So Scandal than My Way or Interdit, where neroli takes the lead. Notes of praline, honey, coconut, pear, mandarin, orchid, and lavender. To me, it’s a nod to the classics: sweet like current trends but with that hyper-feminine neroli and floral-fruit touch that always works. You can buy it blind.
It has the Scandal base, undoubtedly I feel a touch of that honeyed scent, but it has another note in the dry down that I find uncomfortable, it smells like licorice to me. I’ll stick with Scandal, no more, I don’t like this one, it smells quite masculine to me. For me, both this and Scandal are autumn and winter fragrances, I think that’s when they shine the most.
A delicious, sweet, and spicy perfume, I really love it. That non-vanilla sweetness is wonderful and stays on the skin, but no more than 6 hours. Loved.
Fig, honey, lots of honey… If they knew how much Scandal costs in Argentina… I bought it blindly, looking for a new, intense, and long-lasting fragrance. It is intense, lasts about 8 hours.. But the synthetic fig and honey scent is UNBEARABLE to me. I promised myself never to buy blindly again.
We went to test it and it was a triumph! It won 7.4 out of 10 from my boyfriend. Very sweet, I also liked it a lot. I’m very surprised that the main note of ‘Scandal’ is honeyed and that this version smells infinitely sweeter to me 😱. I think I could buy it 🧡.
Creamy neroli bathed in honey and lots of fig. IT’S NOT the same as Scandal by Night but it follows that same path, it fascinated me 🍯. Longevity: more than 15 hours. Projection: very wide.
I need help, please, I don’t want to end up with a duplicate perfume. Fragrantica says it resembles Donna Born in Roma Intense and L’Élixir by Victor & Rolf, but they don’t seem equal to each other. What catches my attention is that someone said it was very woody and I’m weak for woods. Can anyone clarify my doubts??? I’m about to buy it but help me with this, thank you a million.
It has the Scandal DNA in the dry down, and in the opening it’s similar to Alien Goddess, but the coconut is much finer. I want it! For me, it’s a night scent for any season. It wears much better on skin than on paper. Delicious, addictive, youthful, and cheerful. Edit: after trying it a second and third time, I can now distinguish the fig and opulent white flowers. Honestly, I don’t feel it as youthful anymore. It’s strong, ideally for cold weather. I think a decant would be enough, I’d almost never get a chance to use a full bottle.
Does it resemble the Scandal family? Yes, it follows that olfactive path, but IT HAS ITS OWN PERSONALITY. I couldn’t tolerate the super sweet scent of Scandal; on my skin it felt very synthetic, whereas Absolu is so addictive on my skin, I love it. They declare figs, neroli, and sandalwood, undoubtedly they’re there, but to this composition I’d add HONEY (in all caps), ylang-ylang, or coconut. For people who say they can’t identify black fig, the aroma of this fruit is very sweet, very similar to pure honey. So, this fig is accompanied by neroli and the sandalwood also shines. I perceive the dry down as powdery or lactonic due to an unlisted ylang-ylang or creamy coconut, but they are noticeable. I’m fascinated by this scent, I feel so good when I wear it, and those who identify it on me give me many compliments. It has great sillage and lasts 8 hours on my skin, which is magnificent. For me, it’s a perfume for cold, rainy days, or perhaps autumn and winter. Along with So Scandal, Absolu are my two favorites from this line.
First time I’ve liked a perfume with sandalwood. Personally, I see it as a good option for daily winter wear, because before seeing the notes I thought it was obviously gourmand due to the fig note, what a ‘fruit of the good’.
I’ve already talked about this scent before, but I’m back purely for the joy of recommending it again. It’s gorgeous, very rich, and yes, it’s almost identical to Scandal by Night. The only difference is a light ‘coconut’ vibe, probably from the fig, which often gets confused with coconut 🥥. It’s beautiful, an addictive scent; someone sprayed it clumsily on my wrist and I swear it’s still delicious after 4 hours, I keep bringing my nose closer to savor it. It’s not special, no, and yes, it’s very similar to the original Scandals. I’d definitely recommend this purchase only to those who love Scandal so much they’ve thought about getting a backup, but… what if instead of buying the same bottle of Scandal, you buy this Absolu? Finally, let’s be honest and stop worshipping discontinued scents… I have Scandal By Night and can confirm this and Night smell 90% the same, with the same sweetness and longevity, so anyone who denies they’re similar just because SBN is super hyped… well, reality is different. Highly recommended purchase for fans of sweet, gourmand-but-not-gourmand, ultra-feminine, and sexy scents.
I thought I’d like it, but I didn’t. It’s not for me. I feel it’s more for older ladies; maybe it’s the fig since I like the other notes. Too strong, too sharp. I don’t hate it; I could come to appreciate it, but not on my skin. Pass.
Scandal Absolu seems to me right now (thinking of those currently available and not discontinued) to be the best in its range. It has something distinctive with that gorgeous neroli, nothing aggressive, and the fig is very dynamic, giving a non-citrus freshness that’s very elegant. The hours soften it gently with peach, vanilla, and tonka bean, adding body without becoming a dense, heavy mess—a mature sweetness. The patchouli is noticeable but not a criminal. It lasts on the skin like a champ, and the sillage is quite good. Very refined, maybe a bit boring if you’re looking for something bold, but a beautiful creation.
This fragrance was meant to be smelled, loved, and wanted forever. Sweet, creamy nardos with that fruity, coconutty touch of fig… and that sweet sandalwood base that grounds it and gives it, I think, a more imposing character. I’m totally obsessed. Projection and longevity are over 10 hours, well, considering the quality of this house. I can’t recommend it more. Just note: cold climates only, as it can get cloying.
I have to say, this is my favorite so far. Sweet in just the right amount, great sillage, and excellent skin longevity. I’ve been wearing it since launch and I’m not tired of it. I love the sweetness without it being vanilla; it’s not cloying but gives you that autumn-winter vibe. Highly recommended.
It’s a delicious fragrance. It has a quirky opening—super sweet, then it dries down and I can definitely detect the fig note that many people mistake for coconut, plus an undeclared honey note. Very tasty, but without a doubt, what I loved most was that sweet, creamy opening.
It’s sweet and warm, perfectly matching my style and easy to enjoy if you like sugary perfumes like I do. It works well on my skin, but it feels a bit flat with little evolution. I like it; it’s not a bad perfume at all, but I don’t feel it’s unique. It’s the kind of scent I could wear daily, though I already have options that evolve and stand out more.
I didn’t smell the fig… I smelled a perfume with so much coconut that it completely overshadowed all the other notes.
It’s a beast of a perfume, yes, but it’s a remake of Scandal by Night with less longevity and sillage. It didn’t pay off for me since I already own several bottles of By Night and still prefer it. If you’re a By Night lover, grab this one—they’re almost identical.
I liked it. It has everything. All the DNA of Scandal but with a special twist, so it’s definitely worth adding to your collection.
It smells amazing 😋, though I need to wear it more; I’ve been wanting to try it for ages.
