  • Spectacular. It starts with a sweet, soft tangerine and caramel scent from the opening, then moves to a woody touch, quite rich and long-lasting. Scent: 9/10. Longevity: 8/10. Projection: 7/10.

  • It wasn’t what I expected, but wait before giving it a lower rating; it will surprise you. I thought it was a sweeter, more common scent, but I was wrong; it has a distinct charm. Where I live, almost no one wears fragrance, and whenever I wear it, someone says it smells good. If I sinned, it’s because I used it in summer with about 4 sprays, and you look great without cloying anyone, leaving a rich trail. The scent is roasted caramel with something fresh, but let it settle and you’ll get that light caramel with a vetiver that rounds out the formula, making it more masculine. It smells like a cheerful young man, but you know he’s a man. 8/10.

Terrible reformulation, Batch 30881. Production date: 2023-03-29 (ORIGINAL). I bought it because YouTube said it was better than the EDP; I bought the Parfum, and while it lacks power, it lasts a bit, and its performance is slightly more decent than this watery mess. What a pity because the scent is exquisite, but it can’t be that a JPG fragrance doesn’t last 4 hours. On skin, it feels very close to the skin; only the first half-hour is noticeable, then no one knows I’m wearing perfume. I have to get very close to know I have it on because the projection is non-existent. I stayed with the Arabic copy a thousand times; the original has a shameful performance for its high cost.

Batch 2024. I had an excellent experience applying it. I’m Argentine, and it reminded me of childhood when my grandmother made dulce de leche with orange peels; this perfume smells exactly like that. I’m 35 and wear it for romantic dates, but it’s also ideal for twenty-somethings to wear to cause trouble. The first two hours are potent and noticeable for another two, lasting up to 8 hours on the skin. You can’t ask for more from an EDT. I see it as ideal for autumn/winter, but at 20, I’d wear it every time I went out dancing. It’s unisex leaning masculine, though I tested it on female skin and that dulce de leche dessert scent remains unchanged, making you want to eat it. On male skin, the vetiver comes through more, resulting in a young, cheerful men’s fragrance. Anyone saying it doesn’t last either suffers from olfactory fatigue, had their sense of smell affected by COVID, or bought a cheap knockoff. Highly recommended.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Scandal Pour Homme is a fragrance that doesn’t go unnoticed. From the very first moment, its opening wraps you in a subtly fruity touch of tangerine, but what really takes center stage is the caramel, which quickly claims the fragrance, giving it a sweet and enveloping character. As it settles on the skin, the caramel fuses with tonka bean notes, adding an even creamier sweetness, almost like melted caramel. It maintains a gourmand line but with a sophisticated touch thanks to the vetiver, which, while not very prominent, adds an earthy base that balances the sweetness. The tangerine, playful at first, lingers in the background before giving way to the vanilla-like touch of the tonka bean, which becomes the main note. It’s true that the notes can feel a bit synthetic at first, but that doesn’t detract from the quality. The gourmand focus is designed to offer a playful and modern olfactory experience. The intention isn’t to mimic natural smells but to offer a sweet, enveloping experience with strong presence, which it achieves successfully. Scandal is clearly for extroverted people who want to be the center of attention. Its sweetness and strong projection make it ideal for parties, clubs, or night dates. It’s the type of perfume that says ‘look at me’ without being too heavy, but definitely present. Although its projection and longevity are notable for an EDT, it’s best used in open spaces or with good ventilation, as it can become overwhelming in enclosed areas, especially in warm climates. If you use it during the day, apply a few drops so it’s not invasive. Due to its bold personality and sweet focus, it’s more suitable for young people, probably under 24, who enjoy daring fragrances. I wouldn’t see it on someone older, as it has a youthful and festive vibe that might not resonate with those seeking something more subtle. While it has much to offer those looking for something sweet and flashy, it’s not for everyone. If you like gourmand, daring fragrances with notable presence, it will be a success. Strengths: enveloping sweetness with a sophisticated touch, excellent projection and longevity for an EDT, perfect for night events. Weaknesses: synthetic notes that may not please everyone, intense sweetness that can be too much, better for young people. Final rating: 8/10. Scandal Pour Homme is a bold, seductive, and modern fragrance, ideal for standing out in the crowd. Perfect for special moments, but may not be the best option for those preferring subtler scents. Undoubtedly, it’s an excellent choice if you like fragrances that attract attention and aren’t afraid to be the center of attention.

The king of compliments, that simple. It’s one of the few I’ve repurchased (200ml) and I’ll have to do it again.

  • IliaApturioTopturio

Very youthful, sweet, and flashy; it lives up to its name because it truly is a scandalous perfume. Recommended.

Batch 2024 is an absolute delight that lasts about 10 hours on my skin, which is quite a bit for an EDT. I love the opening where the tangerine and caramel dominate, creating the DNA of Scandal. The dry-down is also fantastic, reminding me of dulce de leche. The projection is very intense for the first 3 hours before settling into a personal bubble, though it never goes unnoticed. I bought the 100ml bottle and will definitely buy the refill when I run out.

Starts with a bright tangerine citrus burst that fades quickly to make way for an acidic, green sage note. This fresh herb acts as a bridge to the gourmand heart of caramel and tonka bean, creating a sweet and comforting profile. What saves the fragrance is the vetiver in the dry-down: a dry, earthy, and elegant base that prevents it from becoming cloying. This blend of gourmand and woody notes gives it a unique character within Jean Paul Gaultier’s sweet universe. It lasts over 8 hours on skin and leaves a trail that generates many compliments. It’s versatile and unisex, though its earthy base leans more toward men. Ideal for those seeking a balanced, present gourmand. My rating: 9/10. A rich, addictive, and elegant fragrance that perfectly combines sweetness with vetiver.

  • If you want compliments, this is the perfume to wear in the heat with just a few sprays, and I guarantee you’ll get them. It’s my first Jean Paul Gaultier, and I’ll keep buying it because I love it.

  • I tried Scandal Eau de Toilette after trying Scandal Le Parfum, and the differences are clear. The EDT keeps the DNA of the line but with a more youthful and luminous focus. From the opening, fruity notes like pear and citrus touches give a vibrant top note. The floral heart is still there but much softer than Le Parfum. The base keeps that sweet caramel, a standout feature throughout. In terms of performance, projection is moderate and it lasts between 7 and 8 hours, ideal for any use, especially in cold weather, day or night. In summary, it’s a more manageable, fresh, and versatile option, keeping the bold style but with a lighter profile. I consider it a blind buy unless you don’t like sweet scents.

Let me give you a simple summary: EDT. Opening is an exquisite unisex bomb, but the dry down smells like a lady’s feminine fragrance. EDP. Opening is similar to the EDT but darker and more masculine, with a linear and flat dry down. In short, the EDT smells like a woman and the EDP like a man. You don’t need to know more.

  • With this, you become a ‘Danette’ dulce de leche dessert. It beats 90% of all perfumes. Incredible scent, projection, and longevity; I’ve only seen projection like this in Dior’s Sauvage. If you’re from Argentina, listen up: there’s a low-cost perfume called ‘Ron Discover 1 by Anna Stein’ that clones it very well, or Parismania which is a 1-to-1 match. Either way, this is an experience you can’t miss.

  • This is the perfume in my collection that lasts and projects the most. I think it’s totally worth the price, and I wouldn’t even consider Mandarin Sky. A perfume that women love, totally youthful DNA, nothing unique or novel, but the performance seems very good to me.

  • I’m a fan of beast mode fragrances, and this one, even though it’s an EDT, LASTS LIKE A BEAST. The smell is brutal and projects to 3 meters. Animalistic from JPG, buy it!

  • Orlandoperfumesman

Batch 2023. Just opened it and bought it blind. My first impression has an opening very similar to Bad Boy Extreme, which I also own. I’m not exactly sure what it is, nor the tonka bean or vetiver they share, but for now, that’s what it is.

  • coquitoperfumista

I don’t like its opening, at least when I smell it on myself. The first time I smelled it, it seemed exquisite; a friend wore it and it seemed incredibly strong, filling the room, but I feel the opening isn’t as rich. What makes it a great perfume is its dry down.

  • Wow, what can I say? It’s the first ‘beast’ fragrance in my collection. I bought it back in 2021 after only having smelled one Plotter, and it was love at first sight. My girlfriend adores it; out of my 100 perfumes, she’s the only one who recognizes it and says I smell like it from a block away. If you wear it for Christmas, it lasts until Easter. It lasts 24 hours and projects for 6 to 8 hours without any issues. IMPRESSIVE.

  • felipejca

This is the ultimate informal perfume. Perfect for dates, casual afternoons, or cold and mild days. It’s an exquisite, easy-to-wear scent—the kind people call a ‘blind buy safe bet.’ I prefer this EDT over the EDP and Absolu; in my opinion, this one is much better. Unfortunately, with so many clones and Scandal line versions out there, it’s losing its originality and is found everywhere, especially worn by guys aged 16 to 23.

  • Emanuelle88

The first spray hits hard with an explosive top note, but it softens once it reaches the heart and isn’t as cloying anymore. You can definitely smell the smoky vetiver and the lasting sweetness of the tonka bean, though the mandarin is barely noticeable and the caramel base feels dense. The sillage is gentle. I wouldn’t buy it again given the price.

  • LONGEVITY: 2-3 hours of projection with a strong sillage, up to 12 hours on skin. Performance is excellent, possibly the best EDT on the market. Be careful with sprays because it can become heavy; it bothered me when I overapplied or in enclosed spaces. I don’t recommend more than 5 sprays, 7 at most. SCENT: Caramelized mandarin opening, like a dessert, not a fresh citrus. As it dries, caramel and tonka bean dominate. Sweet, simple, and easy to please. USES: 100% nighttime and youthful, ideal for fall and winter. Perfect for parties or clubs because it’s sweet and powerful, overpowering other perfumes. Also great for dates with few sprays (max 3), because more can be invasive when eating or drinking. Not for daily wear: due to its heaviness, it can cause discomfort instead of compliments in certain contexts (happened to me on public transport). It’s a party fragrance, simple, and youthful (recommended from age 15). SYNTHESIS: If you’re young, like sweet and heavy night scents, you can’t go wrong with this. Its performance stands out, even if the scent is simple. The downside is that it can be excessive for the first two hours due to the powerful sillage, especially in enclosed spaces. I apply it a couple of hours before so it settles: it’s rich, but due to its sweetness, it can get tiring. Still, I recommend it a lot for the price and performance. No need to overapply or reapply.

  • metroidsoldier

I find this Scandal very heavy and too sweet; it gave me nausea when I put it on and I didn’t like it. I’ll never try it again.

  • I’ve never been a huge fan of super sweet scents, but I love this one. At first, it smells like sweet toffee, and then, when dry, like caramel ice cream; it smells delicious. Even though people say it has nothing to do with Boddy Odyssey, this one is incredibly rich; Odyssey is just rare, not rich (in my opinion). The price is excellent for what it offers, 10/10. If it’s a bit cloying, it’s very little, but if you don’t dare wear it in summer at 47 degrees, you’ll smell like a cornbread cake.

  • This was the fragrance that started my perfume journey. At first, I loved it, but over time I got tired of it. The fragrance delivers: it’s very noticeable, you can smell it, and people around love it. I’m already bored with it, but if you’re looking for something for the club, this is the best you can find. On my skin, it’s the one with the best longevity and projection in the entire line.

  • The opening is trash: too sweet and gives me a headache. As it dries down, the caramel note comes out, which is what made me buy it. You have to wait a few hours to smell its true potential.

  • I’m really liking it. I bought it yesterday and this morning I already notice excellent longevity and projection. I don’t smell the mandarin, but rather sweet and caramelized notes with tonka bean. I tried Le Parfum and it convinced me, but it’s very different. I’m not a huge sweet tooth, but lately I’ve tried this vibe and they’re great for switching from woody or fresh scents. Recommended, even blind, if you know you like sweet fragrances.

  • Lucapereirafitperfumes

Smells super sweet, just like its caramel note suggests. It’s rich, addictive, and women absolutely love it; if you wear it on a date, you won’t fail. Once I wore it in extreme heat to go for a stroll, and everyone was staring, haha, but it didn’t bother me or the people next to me, and no one in the car complained. Compliments guaranteed, I recommend it.

  • Martínvenezuela

If this perfume came from a niche house and cost $500, people would call it the best. Right now, they don’t say that because it’s so common, and that’s its only flaw since so many people wear it. Apart from that, it has no faults; none of its flankers have surpassed it.

  • A delicious perfume with great longevity and projection. To a point, it’s versatile. Don’t listen to those who say it smells like ‘a lady’; don’t be afraid of the floral notes; it’s not all citrus and woods. Awesome.

  • Tiago Paravizzini

It’s a perfume that breaks the mold. I bought it thinking it would be a surprise, but reality exceeded my expectations. Perfect for parties, hangouts with friends, or intimate dates; I always get compliments, and the longevity is brutal. I wear it day and night without issues, but watch out: it’s best for cold or windy weather, not tropical heat. In short, it’s my absolute favorite and beats any other I’ve tried in the future.

  • My first perfume, the one that started my journey. It’s incredibly potent, like very few, even as an EDT, to the point of causing anosmia; JPG deserves credit for that. Its opening is very sweet with citrus touches (juicy mandarin), making you think it’s a gourmand beast with caramel and tonka bean, but that’s where it stops. After 15 minutes, the salvia sclarea notes emerge, turning it into a strictly unisex perfume with floral musky nuances that I love in a woman, though on me it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable but tolerable. Its dry-down is another story: the vetiver makes a triumphant entry, giving it a fresh, almost airy touch, like receiving a strong breeze, but with very sweet nuances. That is Scandal EDT, a chameleon-like perfume that evolves weirdly on my skin, but in the end, it turns masculine, which is why I started buying perfumes to get similar sensations, although I sometimes end up disappointed. Batch 30441 – 150ml Format • Duration: 10 to 12h on skin and clothes until washed. • Projection: Strong with good trail for at least 4h, then slowly fades. • Occasions: Informal; with few sprays, it can be daily or for the office in fresh seasons, though there are better options. • Seasons: Winter and Autumn, but on Summer and Spring nights, it works for purely informal occasions.

  • peterMartinez

What can I say about this masterpiece, my signature and first perfume? I own four bottles and it’s insane. Despite being sweet and citrusy, it’s super versatile: creamy, sparkling mandarin that evolves into a perfect caramel with tonka bean. As an EDT, it’s an absolute madness—it lasts forever and projects massively, leaving a huge trail. It’s one of the longest-lasting in perfumery. I have so much affection for it; it’s very masculine despite the loud sweetness. It gets too many compliments and is my winner. It’s worth trying; it’s youthful, so maybe not for people over 25, but I definitely enjoy it. Despite my favoritism, it’s solid and revolutionizes the loud sweet genre, managing to make the sweetest note fit with a masculine tone.

  • blvck-w-wilson

I was curious to try it, even though it came out years ago and I didn’t know it. I love its opening and that progression from citrus to a very wearable, sexy caramel sweetness. Fans of JPG are probably huge fans for a reason; it has that naughty and sensual DNA. It’s not crazy, but that bold, sweet touch will make me keep a bottle forever, unless a version comes out that matches it (four have already failed to convince me). I always doubted its performance; people say it lasts forever, but I guess my nose gets fatigued because I don’t feel it for that long, though I do get about 5-6 hours exactly.

  • JoaquínAlexandres

I tried it in a store out of curiosity, looking for something different. I sprayed it with low expectations and was surprised. At first, it’s fresh and clean, then a soft sweetness emerges that isn’t cloying, very balanced. In the end, it settles into something serious, masculine, rich, and elegant. I didn’t buy it that day, but it kept circling my mind. It’s one of those perfumes that doesn’t shout but makes itself noticed. I got the feeling it’s not for everyday wear, but perfect for a special outing. I don’t know where they got the idea that it smells like Mandarine Sky; that one is very synthetic, but it’s somewhat similar; I’ll stick with this one.

  • Just to clarify, this is a batch from 05/2025. Unfortunately, they reformulated it: it went from lasting 12 hours with 3-4 hours of projection to lasting only 6 hours and projecting for barely an hour.

  • gonzalezvertiz

Mixed feelings: I don’t like it, but many people adore it, especially women. To me, it smells like that sugary caramel your grandma used to give you—very strong, sweet, and synthetic until it gives me a headache. Beastly performance though; I hate it, but it works.

  • It’s a top-tier fragrance, definitely my favorite. Starts loud and sharp, but then transforms into a delicious, super sexy caramel that you just can’t stop smelling.
