  • What a beautiful amber liquid and bottle with its tones… But intense? Nothing. As soon as I put it on, the floral touch is curious; it smells like a flanker of Dior Homme, iris, violets, and some tonka bean vanilla… cardamom? I don’t feel it. So what? It’s a reformulation. Another fragrance copying another from a different house. Intense? No, weak and scarce. Very beautiful bottle!

  • What a gorgeous amber liquid and bottle, but… intense? Not even joking. As soon as I spray it, the floral touch is interesting, but it smells like a Dior Homme clone, with iris, violets, and tonka bean vanilla. And the cardamom? It’s not there. It’s just another reformulation. Weak and scarce, although the packaging is beautiful.

La Nuit de L’Homme Intense promises to be the king of nighttime seduction, darker and more fatal than its predecessor, with a volcanic bottle screaming passion and nearly unisex notes of iris and violet. In reality, the opening is a fantastic combination that delights iris and violet lovers, but the marketing hype fades quickly: it’s not the intense body scent they promised. The aroma drifts into a sweet vanilla, patchouli, and tonka bean blend, without the promised sage, and in the dry down it smells like Ferragamo Black. The finish has a tea note reminiscent of Creed Millésime Impérial, which my girlfriend loved. I like it for the iris and vanilla, but I wish the opening lasted longer. The fragrance fades fast, becoming an intimate skin scent for dinners or movies, not for clubs. The intensity isn’t power; it’s a marketing trick to get you to buy again. Although the system seeks quick fixes, this perfume has a fine and exquisite aroma in its initial phases. Scent: 8/10 opening / 6.5 dry down. Sillage: 4/10. Longevity: 4.5/10. Versatility: 6.5/10.

  • La Nuit de L’Homme Intense promises to be the darkest and most seductive version of the original, with a volcanic bottle screaming fatal passion. In practice, the opening is beautiful, ideal if you love iris and violet, a fantastic blend. But the marketing fails: it’s not intense or powerful, not even as a body scent. The aroma turns sweet and boring with vanilla, patchouli, and tonka bean, without the promised sage. The dry down reminds me of Ferragamo Black and the finish of Creed Millésime Impérial. My girlfriend loves it, I do too, but the longevity is terrible, like a skin scent for intimate dinners. The perfume industry just wants you to buy it again quickly. It’s a fine and exquisite aroma at first, but disappointing in performance. Scent: 8/10 opening, 6.5/10 dry down. Sillage: 4/10. Longevity: 4.5/10. Versatility: 6.5/10.

  • I don’t know why people rate the performance of this perfume so poorly. It lasted hours on me, though always moderately. The scent is fairly average. The first hour seems fresh, like sage as the bottle says, but I notice it more as chemical. Then, as it dries down, there’s a balsamic part with powdery notes, all with a sharpness and quality that leave much to be desired. The worst part is that in stores, they treat you like you’re testing a fan of heavenly aromas, when there’s more facade than substance. What a shame, honestly.

  • This is the first YSL fragrance that really stands out and competes for the top spots. It’s gorgeous, masculine, elegant, and clean. Excellent. It’s very similar to Prada Homme Intense; the Prada version is more bitter with similar intensity, perhaps slightly lower, while the YSL is sweeter when drying down and has a vanilla finish. The iris with tonka bean is very similar in both, though YSL leans more towards iris while Prada emphasizes the tonka. A tough choice. Maybe the point is the price: I can’t find the YSL version for less than €90 for 100ml, which is a rip-off. Both have limited sillage; if I had to choose, I’d go with Dior Homme or Prada.

  • @Leonardo LOL, I’ve bought several blindly from Jeremy Fragrance and they never let me down, but these two YSL reviews are from years ago. In the case of L’INTENSE, I didn’t think it had already been reformulated.

  • I bought L’INTENSE blindly from Jeremy Fragrance, just like the EDT, both back in 2021. With L’INTENSE, I already had a hunch based on the DNA of the previous version and that iris so prominent in Dior Homme, but here it smells like cosmetics. Maybe the new bottles are victims of the reformulation. Last night at 9:30 p.m., I applied EDT on one arm and L’INTENSE on the other; by 7 a.m., with some effort, I could barely detect the EDT. I sprayed it on my neck, chest, back, and elbows, and now at 7 a.m., it smells like nothing at all, except faintly on the chest through my t-shirt. It’s not worth spending what this line costs; there are options at half or even a third of the price, like Ferragamo F Black, Givenchy Gentleman Cologne, or SF Acqua Essenziale, that last much longer. It smells good, but when buying perfume, longevity and projection matter. I won’t be buying them again.

  • I also own the classic L’Homme EDT, L’Homme SPORT, L’Homme LIBRE, and L’Homme ULTIME. Out of the six bottles I have from this YSL house, I’d rank the discontinued LIBRE as the best, and I believe ULTIME is up there too. Both last long and project well. I don’t see the hype behind the Y line by YSL; to my nose, they smell very sharp, synthetic, and overpriced. It seems like I’m a total HATER of YSL.

  • @Leonardo Hey, give fragrances some time to settle. In the Y collection by YSL, I admit I tried one in-store and fell in love, so I bought the flanker EAU Fraiche (online) and wow, it lasts and projects better than many EDT INTENSEs. In my opinion, the EDP comes next. I haven’t tried the PARFUM, and the EDT is dispensable. I’ll revisit my thoughts on the L’HOMME and LA NUIT DE L’HOMME profiles later.

  • Such a rich and cozy scent; I was blown away. The only downside is the insane heat here—over 40 degrees—so I haven’t worn it, but if the weather weren’t so brutal, I’d wear it every single day…
