Malbec Gold by O Boticário is a woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2016, this composition was created by Eurico Mazzini and Clito Hoedicke. Its top notes of apple, African ginger, black pepper, mandarin, Sicilian lemon, and hyssop give way to a heart of cinnamon, leather, nutmeg, lavender, orange blossom, and gold. The base rests on amberwood, patchouli, vanilla, oud wood, cashmere, incense, Texas cedar, and labdanum.

At first, I was surprised because I’m not a huge fan of sweet scents, but the opening is ambered with cinnamon, cardamom, and citrus. The citrus fades in 30 minutes, leaving a noticeable amber from start to finish. I love the leather and amber base; it’s perfect for clubs or open-air venues. Personally, I start getting compliments and stealing glances; it lasts 10 hours or more and projects for 3 comfortably. It’s a bomb with touches similar to Armani Code Profumo and 1 Million, but with its own identity that I like (I can’t stand 1 Million). In summary: it’s rich and quite sweet, not formal, meant for clubs and casual dinners. Not very original but has identity. I like it quite a bit, it’s not my favorite, but it’s the best in performance. Ideal for winter given the price ($50 for 100ml); there are better options in smaller sizes. Final note: Scent 7.5/10, Projection 9/10, Longevity 9/10, Compliments 8.5/10.

It’s not a copy, but it would be the 1 Million within Malbec due to its sweetness, just watch out that it doesn’t get cloying, but it makes it attractive and addictive with that woody DNA. It’s jovial, outgoing, seductive, and then attention-grabbing. Performance is excellent: it projects well and settles to a moderate level after 2-3 hours; on skin, it easily lasts 9 hours. It accompanies the night and seduction.
Undoubtedly an 80% clone of One Million, only this one is more flamboyant. It’s very addictive and lasts quite a while; I wish it projected beyond the first hour, but overall it’s very good for the price.
It’s a woody and slightly sweet fragrance, not cloying, versatile, and casual. Personally, I like it; it has good longevity and projects for about 3 hours without being a beast mode. After checking the notes, it’s the first time I’ve seen a fragrance described as ‘gold,’ wow.
Just tried out this Malbec that tempted me to expand my collection; I already have three alongside the original and Magnetic. The opening didn’t quite hit the spot, but on skin, a sweet amber takes over without being cloying, with a barely perceptible vanilla touch and a leather nuance that hasn’t fully settled yet. I detect spicy accords, though instead of warmth, I sense something cool, almost like ice. By the way, the gold has its own olfactory signature here, noticeable as a mineral note. It’s not addictive for me, even though reviews made it seem promising; for now, it’s generically pleasant and doesn’t offer much. I want to believe in the line, but there’s more to explore.
