  Grapefruit was already the star note; now the giant male Invictus is on board. With its new faceted bottle, it replaces the discontinued aquatic version. It’s very fruity but not sweet: a smiling, fizzy grapefruit, à la Hermès or Davidoff. The dry down is pure water and salt. The amberwood adds depth and power, keeping the trail we’ve come to expect.

  I went to duty free to buy a fresh Invictus since I didn’t have any at home. At the Rabanne shelf, a salesperson handed me a separate deal item: Invictus Aqua travel exclusive at $60 for 100ml (incredible). I tested it out of politeness and what a surprise! A grapefruit-led, sweet, and charming opening, faithful to the original. I let it settle to see how it dried down; I let my partner, the most demanding one, smell it, and she adored it. I took it without hesitation. It’s an original Invictus, more sparkling, bright, and delicious. It’s not as aquatic as an ADG Profondo. It definitely has the OG DNA. I smell it more citrusy and woody than aquatic. Longevity is respectable; if you don’t overspray, you’re not a beast. Ideal for the office, casual days, or a summer date in the park. Thanks to the salesperson for showing me a fragrance that flashed me immediately. I wear it regularly at the office with Sauvage EDP and Valentino Born in Roma EDT. Excellent fragrance!

While browsing the Rabanne shelf, a salesperson handed me a tester from a separate section in the deals area. What a surprise! It was an Invictus Aqua ‘travel exclusive’ for $60 for 100ml—what a steal. I tested it out of politeness and… wow! It had a grapefruit-forward, sweet, and charming opening, staying very true to the original. I let it settle a bit and let my partner, who is very picky, smell it; she loved it. I bought it without hesitation. It’s a genuine Invictus, more sparkling, bright, and fresh—delicious. It’s not as aquatic as an ADG Profondo; you can clearly hear the OG DNA. I smell it more citrusy and woody than aquatic. The longevity is very respectable; if you don’t overdo it, you won’t smell like a beast. Perfect for the office, casual days, or a summer date in the park. Thanks to the salesperson for showing me a fragrance that hit me right out of the gate. I wear it regularly at the office alongside Sauvage EDP and Valentino Born in Roma. Excellent fragrance!
