1 Million Parfum by Rabanne

It’s a whole other world within the One Million line. I have a special affection for it, even if it’s not my favorite scent. What I do know is that every time I wear it, someone asks who smells so good; the first hours deliver constant bursts of fragrance.

A very floral and elegant perfume, ideal for a fresh morning because it hugs you all day long. It has an incredible resemblance to the DO Son EDP.

It has nothing to do with the others in the line. It’s curious: a soft leather base, a strong gummy part like blackberry gum, another very prominent note like sunscreen, and a floral. It smells exactly like the bottle’s color. The 2022 batch was totally nuclear, lasting over 12 hours with brutal projection for the first 3. I sold it because it got on my nerves; it became too heavy and boring to wear.

The best 1 Million: the most niche, the most misunderstood, and the most original. To my taste, only the Million Gold Elixir surpasses it, but this remains more unique and daring. A gem in itself.

Gold melts under the sun. 1 Million Parfum takes the formula that made the line iconic and takes it to another level: denser, warmer, and solar. From the start, it’s not just another flanker; it smells like grape gum with a salty solar-floral touch, amber resins, tropical sweetness, and white flowers that give it a luminous twist. Leather doesn’t dominate, but as it dries down, you notice it like suede. It’s less youthful and more opulent than the original. If 2008 was a night party, this is a luxury terrace at sunset. Excellent performance: 3-4 hours of intense projection and over 10-12 hours on skin. Paco Rabanne delivers again. It’s not cloying; the sweetness is more resinous and the solar touch keeps it airy. Technically masculine, but women wear it with personality if they’re looking for something bold. In short, it’s more mature and structured, not living off nostalgia.

Cheap Joyita: it drives some people crazy while others absolutely love it, but I adore it. It’s super elegant and masculine, smells divine, and lasts forever.

My cousin lent me his 200ml version, and at first, I was confused. I liked the sweetness and warmth, but something didn’t quite fit. Yesterday, comparing it with SWT Intensely, Invictus Victory Elixir, and One Million Elixir, I smelled it again, and it’s spectacular. My favorite from Paco Rabanne, sweet, warm, and rare, but a bomb for cold climates and very potent. Leaving aside the fanaticism, the performance is top-notch: strong from the first moment, you don’t need more than 8 sprays to project far. Lasts about 7 hours on skin, longer on clothes. It’s masculine due to that spicy warmth, though a woman could wear it. If you’re looking for something warm, sweet, and masculine, I recommend it 1000%. At the price of the 100ml (around $125), it’s worth every penny. Would I buy it blind? It’s like Russian roulette, but safe if you’re looking for something sweet for the cold.

A terrible perfume; I don’t understand where the listed notes are. To me, it smells like bubblegum. Very potent; if you apply it and sweat a bit, it stings your butt. A disaster; it has nothing to do with the rest of the line.

If you buy it with your girlfriend, you’ll both use it up, and she’ll surely like it. The opening is feminine, but in 10 minutes, the floral neroli kick calms down, revealing a coconut scent like a bronzing cream that fits perfectly. Although they sell it for guys, I consider it unisex. Does it smell good? Extremely well. Does it perform? Very well. Would I grab it? Yes, if you like the One Million DNA, have spent on the original or Floueurs, are looking for something less potent, have no aromatic gender prejudices, and want something modern and stylish. Watch out, as the price has skyrocketed and they’re almost luxury products now.

I’ll just say this: if you have the chance, try it when it’s very hot. It has a heavy, potent profile that suggests mid-seasons or cold, but OM Parfum has that solar note that smells like you’ve been soaking up the sun (ideal if you’re tanned). Just use a few sprays. 7/10, very good.

It’s the first 1 Million I’ve tried, and now I understand why many hate these versions. I’d define it as a good designer unisex, that’s about it. It reminds me of some Avon women’s scents, like Far Away; the women I’ve given it to have loved it. On skin and duration on clothes, it’s good: more than 5 hours on skin and a couple of days on clothes, I suppose more if they spray more than 5 times. I don’t perceive it as totally masculine, but rather unisex.

I tested it with a few sprays, and it smells very much like Scandal EDT, but with the floral nuance of One Million.

Sweet and floral to no end. I heard the opening smells like grape gum, and I fully agree. You can detect some coconut and woods, and deep down, as it dries, a faint note of clean leather. In my opinion, it’s unisex leaning feminine. In terms of performance, it’s one of the most potent in my collection, both in projection and longevity; it projects a lot and lasts about 10 hours on skin. Personally, I don’t recommend buying without trying it, especially due to that marked feminine profile. But tastes and smells vary. EDIT: A downside to these ‘bricks’ is the atomizer; due to the bottle shape, it’s harder to spray comfortably. If we don’t press it well, it leaks like a hose.

One of the most popular men’s fragrances, thanks to the bottle, marketing, or advertising, but undoubtedly what makes it irresistible is its exquisite aroma, which fluctuates between floral and leather. Ideal for young people but also for those over 30. It’s a powerhouse scent with great sillage and longevity that projects well from a distance, lasting all day or night effortlessly. Caution when applying: the bitter resinous notes can become overwhelming if over-concentrated. Its only downside is its massiveness; it’s recognizable at first sniff.

I knew this was a turning point in the line, leaning floral. The perfume feels high quality, but in my perception, it seemed excessively feminine, more than I tolerate. I’m not surprised by the good ratings; it’s quite good, but it’s not for me.
