Descripción
Phantom Parfum by Rabanne is an aromatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2023, this composition was created by Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Dominique Ropion, and Anne Flipo. Its top notes unfold a vibrant opening with cardamom, bergamot, rhubarb, and lemon (sour lime). The heart reveals a harmony between lavender, cedar, patchouli, and geranium, while the base settles with the warmth of vanilla, balsam of Peru, and Haitian vetiver.

It’s the aroma of the Phantom Toilette but more potent, with better longevity and projection. When I bought it, I really liked how the scent performed.
I ordered a decant of the EDP because I loved it the first time. It smells exactly like the Phantom Eau de Toilette, but with much better projection and longevity. For me, that was the only thing the EDT lacked: projection and staying power. It’s a really rich and great fragrance just being a higher concentration. Conclusion: this perfume is undervalued by social media; remember that perfumery is subjective, don’t let yourselves be fooled.
October 2023: It’s a simplified version of the Phantom EDT, with a sharper, undefined citrus opening, like juicy and slightly bitter grapefruit from the rhubarb, cardamom, and green notes. In the dry down, it promised lavender, but I didn’t notice it clearly because everything is very blended; in the original EDT, the lavender was much more prominent. Ultimately, it’s a balsamic woody scent with vetiver and vanilla. Overall, it seems like a launch with similarities to the EDT: they dialed down the lavender, took the spotlight away from the lemon and the earthy/smoky notes of the original, and kept the sweetness of the vanilla. I was looking for something darker than the EDT, but it’s not. It’s a more approachable perfume with good longevity and trail. Pleasant, but generic. Maybe Rabanne wanted to reach a wider audience with something less polarizing. I stick with the original. Cheers.
A mega dud; it smells like wet grass.
It opens with pure vanilla and in the first hours smells like peach yogurt, very persistent. Not my style. I see it as unisex (on the bad side). Cheers!
I thought it would be a boosted Phantom, but it’s a different fragrance altogether: heavier, darker, and less delicious at first, though I like it once it dries down. It smells good, I’m not regretting the purchase, but I’d recommend trying it before spending money.
It’s obvious this is a clone of Ultramale or Date; they share almost everything: vanilla, cedar, lavender, patchouli, lemon, and bergamot. If you don’t believe me, compare them side-by-side against Ultramale. They’re practically identical. It’s strange that no one mentions this. YouTube has it wrong; go smell and test things for yourselves. It tastes good, but I stick with the original. (Honestly, it feels like it was created by an AI…)
Honestly, I’m falling for this fragrance more every single day. The scent and longevity are top-notch. I wore it at 7 AM before heading to work, and by around 3 PM, someone approached me asking what I was wearing because it smelled incredible.
I don’t understand why it has such a low rating. Out of Paco Rabanne’s two best fragrances, Phantom Parfum and Victory Elixir stand out. If you evaluate them overall, that creaminess, exquisite scents, and the projection and longevity of both are excellent.
This hits Ultramale like a hammer to a nut. I 100% agree with @tolo801: I don’t get all the hate and low ratings. I absolutely love it.
It doesn’t smell ‘bad’; however, it offers nothing new. From the start, and even more so in the dry-down, I perceive the vanilla as very synthetic, to the point of reminding me of an air freshener with the same scent. (I was testing it with a sample they gave me when I bought another fragrance).
Despite the hate the Phantom received initially, I thought it was a very cool and different scent. I’ve tried this new Parfum several times, and it’s true that it maintains the EDT DNA but with a twist that makes it more interesting; that’s why I decided to buy a 100ml bottle. I see it as versatile, especially a night fragrance for all year round, slightly more mature than the EDT; so if you liked that, you’ll probably like this one more. Regarding performance, it doesn’t seem bad, but I’ll update once it arrives and I test it more thoroughly. EDIT: After testing it more thoroughly these past days, I confirm I like it more than the Phantom EDT; it has better performance and, although it’s not a projecton, it lasts many hours and if you apply it on clothes, it stays impregnated for several days. I’m very happy with this acquisition because it smells great, doesn’t bother anyone with its projection, and is perfect for dates or informal outings; a great launch.
Similar to its EDT predecessor, but the citrus usage is more subtle here, allowing its sweet and creamy side to take center stage. It feels more refined, balanced, and seductive than the EDT, although the dry-down (which is very rich) is a bit weaker. As a Phantom user since its launch, I’m glad to have finally secured this Parfum version.
Same opening as the Phantom but with an immensely better dry-down. Tried on a decant and I liked it quite a bit. Sweet and fresh at first, and sweet and dry at the end.
I bought it after testing it in the store for a week because it seemed like an addictive aroma; I couldn’t stop smelling my arm. You can detect the original DNA, but over time, that original aspect fades a bit and it becomes more chocolatey and intense, more in the style of Invictus Victory Elixir. I’d define it as: a chocolatey Phantom. I wore it twice out, once at a bar and once on a date; both times I received compliments. All of that in the first week. As for performance, I have no idea because I applied a lot both times and also had a decant to reapply and ensure people could smell me. Still, I think the performance is moderate. I’ll be providing more updates as I use it.
It has a very particular sweet smell that reminds me of perfumes I’ve smelled before. The vanilla is a bit sticky and I don’t particularly like it. It’s a good fragrance overall, but the scent isn’t going in the direction of my tastes. A 6 out of 10.
A soft citrus opening with a slight spicy touch that, over time, transforms into a soft sweetness that isn’t cloying. It’s well-balanced for cold days or heat, ideal for autumn/spring transitions. I see it as very versatile, suitable for day or night depending on how many sprays you use.
I’m keeping it to wear out with Afnan 9PM. In my experience, it lasts a long time but doesn’t have much projection; it has a rich scent and feels more intriguing than other fragrances in this style. It doesn’t differ much from other night perfumes, so it doesn’t draw much attention, which I like. My girlfriend loves it. If you’re looking for something to wear out but not as flashy as Le Beau Parfum or Scandal, this will work. I plan to wear it all year round, but only at night, adjusting the number of sprays based on the situation.
I want it. After trying it, it has one of the best vanilla notes I’ve ever smelled; combined with the lavender, they make a perfect pair. It lasted quite a while on my skin, though it doesn’t project much, and for me, that’s just fine.
It works well for me. It’s a more discreet version than the EDT, slightly more mature but still sweet. The lavender, geranium, and woods embrace the vanilla sweetness, giving it an intimate, warm, and nocturnal character. It performs well and lasts long, though the trail is more contained. I think that’s the idea behind the Parfum: if you want a strong hit that’s noticeable from a distance, go for the EDT or the Intense. P.S.: It’s in the dry-down where it most resembles the three ‘little robots’ released so far.
Phantom Parfum is the adult version of Scandal Le Parfum, a perfume for kids. EDIT: I don’t know what’s wrong with people who say it doesn’t last. I applied 8 sprays at 9 AM and passed someone by at 7 who said ‘you left a really rich scent’. 10 hours later, I was still leaving a trail.
I’ll repeat it… blatant copy of Ultra Male.
Another victim of the hate after its predecessor. The best: the opening and the first hour. Then it’s pleasant but generic, the typical aromatic-lavender-sweet vibe. Sweet without being cloying. The worst: not novel at all, same formula as the previous one. A more personal bubble. Maybe the longevity doesn’t convince for a ‘Parfum’ (less projection, more duration), it lasts a bit longer than the EDT. Likable? Yes, it never fails. Redundant? Yes, but I’ll stick with this one. 8/10, recommended if you don’t have the EDT.
Total disappointment with Paco Rabanne. The opening smells like animal urine on metal, a strong citrus with something weird and disgusting. Lasts 10 minutes and fades quickly. Heart and base are decent, but after two hours it feels nice yet lacks projection (I have good skin). I expected more. Opening: 2/10, Scent: 6.5/10, Longevity: 7/10, Projection: 6/10, Price: 6/10, Value: 4/10
Unjustified hate; I’ve worn it a lot. Powdery scent with light, pleasant lavender. It’s not a miracle, but it delivers. Very long-lasting, reached 14 hours, and the first three hours are total beast mode. Very good fragrance 💯
It’s very similar to Invictus Victory.
The opening is strong; I smell fruity, even a bit herbal, super rich, then it shifts to that powdery theme while keeping that fruity and herbal touch. It’s a super masculine and attractive scent, potent (not too sweet). Lasts 7 hours, projection is very good at first, then normal, but it delivers. Great for going out or a date. 8/10.
What a terrible disappointment, a terrible blind buy…!!! The longevity is ridiculous for a ‘parfum’; my worst purchase of the year. The honest reviewers, who are becoming fewer and fewer, warned me about it.
It’s strong, spicy, and acidic; in my opinion, it’s not ideal for every situation because it can be annoying to others, even the wearer. It’s better suited for cool climates and nighttime. The longevity is what you’d expect from a good parfum with great projection. A bit pricey, but still accessible.
Stop complaining about the bottle. Try to keep the vibe of Paco Rabanne’s early runway presentations in mind; just look at their history. It’s like complaining that Nike makes something sporty.
I didn’t like the original, but this one is definitely an improvement. The price is insane, almost Bond No. 9 levels here, and the bottle is still ridiculous. It feels like a designer trick to slap the ‘Parfum’ label on a flanker just to differentiate it from the original without any real concentration change. Still, it admits to smelling better than the mother, though I wouldn’t buy it myself.
I’ve seen complaints about the bottle, but the scent is good: rich, fresh and sweet opening that turns into a spicy sweetness, super youthful. I don’t find it heavy or dark, quite cheerful. It lasts and projects super well, which is normal. I feel it’s like the regular version but with much better character and aroma. It’s worth it, although the price isn’t the best and that’s where it falls short. If you want something playful, youthful, sweet, and fresh without being cloying, this is for you.
Casual consumer review: Projects a lot of a soft, vanilla, calm, and warm scent, with lemon and bergamot that keep it from being totally sweet. Then it shifts to an aromatic profile with cedar, lavender, and geranium, noting subtle vanilla in the background. If I focus, I can distinguish balsam of tolu, which gives it a dark tone I don’t like. Definitely wouldn’t wear it to school again because the projection overwhelmed me. Lasted 8 hours on clothes and a bit more. Rich perfume for special night outs.
It’s less ‘sweet’ than its siblings, a bit darker, as someone said: ‘bitterer than Phantom Intense’. Don’t misunderstand, it’s a good scent, not that different, but more masculine. I recommend it if you like perfumes like Le Male Parfum or Scandal Le Parfum, but don’t buy it blindly.
What attracts me is the bitter, acidic, and citrusy opening of cardamom with intense citrus, reminding me of the discontinued Burberry Brit Intense. I sense a sharp herbal note, probably rhubarb supported by patchouli, and at times vanilla and tolu come through, which I confuse with coffee. I like the acidity. The dry-down is intense, oriental, and spicy. Maybe within the trail it tries to be more serious and less youthful than the others, but it goes with any look and age. I liked it.
I love it. It doesn’t get old on me thanks to the vanilla and citrus notes. Very citrusy opening that fades quickly, then settles into a vanilla and subtle vibe. It doesn’t project much or last long, but it’s great for night outs or less sunny days. It’s not overwhelming; I wear it to the office without issues. It’s sweet but not cloying. I give it 7/10. Update: when I said it didn’t project much, I was wrong. It projects well, but lasts only 1 or 2 hours. And yes, it lasts well, about 7-8 hours on skin.
The best part is the opening: it makes you feel dark and mature, but after 30 minutes it turns youthful. It’s fine for its target audience, but at 30, I can’t see myself wearing it because it feels too party-oriented.
Good perfume, 5 to 6 hours of skin longevity. Good quality, but it projects little and is soft; the trail is moderate. It’s not as loud as Phantom Parfum: you smell it in your bubble, you won’t surprise anyone. It’s rich, suitable for all ages, neither loud nor limited. I’d wear it in autumn; in summer at 38 degrees, even though it’s not annoying, I’d prefer autumn or spring. For winter, it lacks power; it should project more and have a stronger trail.
Not a single spark, zero.
Got a thousand compliments: rich, exquisite, elegant, and versatile. I recommend it 100%.
