Descripción

Sicily by Mancera is a citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2016, this composition was created by perfumer Pierre Montale. In its opening, the fragrance unfolds an explosion of mandarin, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, bergamot, and apple. The heart reveals a soft florality with jasmine, ylang-ylang, violet, and rose, while the base settles on white musk and woody notes.

  • Right on that fine line between feminine and masculine, I love it. It opens with a fruit explosion that makes it spectacular for summer, then floral notes emerge and last hours on the skin. I’ve worn it with my girlfriend and I have to admit, it suits her better than me, haha. Still, it’s a delight because it doesn’t bother or overwhelm. Excellent projection, lasts about 3 hours, but on my skin it’s easily over 6. On clothes, it reaches 8. It’s a personal fragrance that projects just right for an informal social setting. I want to try Wild Fruits and review its similarities and differences. Cheers!

The opening is fruity, fresh, and citrusy: oranges, lemon, and a touch of apple. But it doesn’t last long, and in the end, only the lemon scent remains. I need to test it more, but for now, this is my take.

  • I bought a 2 ml sample and it’s a delight. The opening is super citrusy and fruity, lasts forever, and smells amazing. It’s very unisex at first, but as it dries down, for me it becomes more feminine than masculine. In fact, I’m going to gift it to my wife so she can enjoy it.

I loved this perfume. On my skin, it smells very similar to Hermès Jardin Sur Le Toit but with incredible longevity and sillage. Wonderful!

  • They gifted me a 2 ml decant and I’m thrilled. It’s delicious, fruity, and on my skin it becomes very sweet. I’ll definitely buy a 30 ml partial to keep enjoying it.

I bought a decant and fell in love the moment I smelled it; it’s the best citrus I’ve ever tried. Notes of grapefruit, jasmine, and Mancera’s typical musk are very prominent. It’s summery, fresh, and energizing, like a summer morning. I ended up buying the 120 ml bottle.

I bought the decant and fell in love the moment I tried it. It’s the best citrus fragrance I’ve ever tested. The notes of grapefruit, jasmine, and that typical Mancera musk are very prominent. It smells summery, fresh, and energizing, like a summer morning, and in the end, I ended up buying the 120 ml bottle.

  • I tried it in a decant and it smells great, very sweet, long-lasting, and projects a lot. To me, it feels 90% feminine, but it’s a gem… perfect for your wife.

  • This is an incredibly rich fragrance, like a sugary citrus if such a thing exists. It’s bitter and sweet at the same time. It throws a blast of citrus wrapped in something sweet without actually being sweet. I adore it; it lasts a long time, and in the end, you can detect some floral notes, though I perceive it as citrusy-fruity. It’s adorable for hot weather, but I’ve also used it in the cold, and it stands out well because that sweet touch keeps it from feeling as icy as other citrus scents.

  • It’s a super rich fragrance, like citrus with sugar if that even exists. It’s bitter and sweet at the same time. It throws a bomb of citrus wrapped in something sweet without being cloying. I love it, lasts hours, and in the end you get floral notes, but I perceive it as citrusy-fruity. It’s adorable for heat, but I’ve worn it in the cold too and it shines because the sweet touch keeps it from feeling as icy as other citrus scents.

  • I love it. It’s unisex, a non-strident citrus-fruity scent that’s super pleasant to wear and smell, with excellent fixation and longevity. Ideal for spring and summer, although I wear it in autumn and winter too from time to time because it has enough power to withstand the cold. It’s going into my must-haves.

  • My experience with this perfume hasn’t been good. To me, it smells like squeezed lemon: lemon in the opening, lemon in the heart, 100% lemon, lemon and more lemon… My nose got saturated with lemon. Although I like the smell of lemon, not in this case.

  • Today, with 34 degrees in Málaga, I tried Sicily. It’s my first wear and the opening gave me a huge joy. It reminded me of my childhood at the beach, opening those famous lime and lemon calipos. It’s a youthful perfume that lifts your mood to the max and gives a fresh sensation. Its longevity is pretty good for a citrus, and the sillage is high during the first hour.

  • Today, with 34 degrees in Málaga, I put on Sicily and its opening gave me a tremendous joy. It reminds me of my childhood at the beach opening those famous lime and lemon calipos. It’s a youthful perfume that boosts your mood to the max and gives a sense of freshness. Its longevity is quite good for a citrus, and its trail is high during the first hour.

  • The first time I smelled it, in the middle of summer, it seemed identical to Omnia Indian Garnet in the dry-down: peach and hyper-vitaminized orange, with a soft floral musky touch. In short, it smells like expensive shampoo. It also has a hint of pineapple, which I hate in perfumes. Trying it on a cold spring day, it still has that shampoo smell, but without the pineapple. There are differences: the opening is more citrusy, but it settles into a pleasant, feminine peach scent that doesn’t bother anyone. Although it’s not my type (I find it too fruity), I think it’s a good unisex all-rounder leaning feminine if you like this style, ideal for spring or summer. It’s fruity but not fresh. Medium projection for the first 2 hours and skin scent for the next 8. @vodkatonic, it doesn’t resemble Cacharel’s Eau d’Eden other than being fruity. Pleasant: 6/10, Interesting: 4/10, Versatile: 6/10, Original: 6/10.

With Sicily, Mancera outdoes its own creations and others in its style from Montale, especially considering its purpose. Although I haven’t been to Sicily, the scent doesn’t match my imagination; it has a citrus opening with very evident fruity traces that quickly dominate. I perceive a sweet tangerine, like Atelier Cologne’s Clémentine California, and a peach more akin to a nectarine. The pineapple-style Cedrat is present but soft, not strident, with that characteristic sweetness that lingers until only a few flowers are noticeable. The fruitiness dominates from start to finish; in the dry-down, the fruit becomes creamy, while the unlisted musk and amber only add creaminess and extend the longevity without being noticeable. The woody notes are completely absent. It’s a bright, fruity, and slightly sweet perfume with a subtle bitterness typical of the fruit. It’s cheerful and fun, linear most of the time. The performance is excellent; with the magnetic cap, the longevity is outstanding and the projection is moderate, enough to remind you you’re wearing perfume. It’s not cloying or heavy. It’s clearly aimed at warm climates; in extreme heat, it doesn’t overwhelm me but refreshes me. Although it feels a bit more feminine than masculine within its unisex nature, I wear it gladly and will use it this summer. I was surprised because I expected something closer to Mancera’s Wild Fruits or Montale’s Soleil di Capri, but it’s less citrusy and bitter, more sweet and fruity. I consider it a win to have chosen it blind. It’s not the most natural, but it’s not bad at all. Of course, you have to like the fruity-citrus-musky segment, and although it leans slightly feminine, it’s casual, effortless, and perfect when you don’t know what to wear. It’s definitely in the top tier of my tests for this house, although I’ve had some flops with others. For the price, it’s not a big deal, and I think there are better, more affordable options.

  • I was gifted this a while ago, and it’s pure poison. A mix of lemon and apricot that sticks hard. It’s more synthetic than a Blade Runner clone.

It’s a beast! At first, it smells synthetic, but the quality is immediately noticeable. Then, on my skin, it explodes into peach, lemon, and apple—perfect for hot weather and lasts forever. I was looking for something like this for summer; it’s very similar to Guerlain’s Granate de Pera, but this one is more citrusy and less sweet.

It’s very potent. At first, it smells synthetic, but you immediately notice the quality. Then, on my skin, it’s a blend of peach, lemon, and apple, perfect for the heat. It lasts a ridiculous amount of time! I specifically looked for this for summer. It’s very similar to Guerlain’s Granite Pear, but this one is less sweet and a bit more citrusy.

  • STGO.DECANT

It’s a super fruity scent where the standout note from start to finish is peach. The first two hours are very intense and project more than a meter and a half away. You can detect lemon and barely any apple, and although the notes say there’s pineapple, it’s practically not felt at all. It’s very pleasant for hot days and lasts about 8 hours on my skin without issues. It’s not bad at all; in fact, my 4-year-old daughter loves it so much that I share it with her.

  • DannyAngel

I was really excited about this perfume, and while it’s not bad, it didn’t meet my expectations. The quality and longevity are top-notch, but I was disappointed that it’s so feminine; I was hoping for something unisex and more neutral, suitable for any age or gender. From the first spray, it smells like very feminine perfumes, so it works well for a woman with an elegant and fresh touch, though it feels a bit generic, like something I’ve smelled before. A friend gave it exactly that ‘lady’s perfume’ vibe. However, the longevity and projection are excellent, making it ideal for hot weather.
