  • A disappointment. Luckily, I bought a sample before letting myself be swept away by the notes. If I had known it was another BR540 inspiration, I wouldn’t have even tried it. I don’t know how so many people idolize this scent. It’s intense but muffled, without identity, like a warm, uniform mass with no desire to be. I bought a Victoria Secret Midnight Bloom splash on sale a while ago… it smells the same. It’s a splash I use to sleep in because its timid aroma relaxes my olfactory senses and doesn’t overwhelm them. I suppose I’ll gift the decant.

It’s a dupe of the BCR540 Extrait de Parfum, identical to the Amber Oud Rouge; apparently, they just changed the name. I love it, it’s exquisite.

At first, it smells a lot like Baccarat extract (not the Rouge), but it has an unmistakable base from this house, I think musk, vanilla, and synthetics, just like in its other siblings like Amber Oud Gold. Let’s call it the brand’s signature, which I actually like. After a while, that base fades, and the composition gets closer to the original. How close? I’d say 95%, especially in the dry-down. It happens to me with Club de Nuit Intense Parfum too: they aren’t exact, but they’re very similar. Is it worth buying before the original? Absolutely. Is the difference noticeable blind? I don’t think so. The curious thing is that it gives me olfactory fatigue; after an hour, I can hardly perceive it, but my friends notice it quite a bit and loved it, even detecting the trail. Bottom line: very satisfied for now, we’ll see with more wear.

No, it’s not identical to Amber Oud Rouge. It lacks that medicinal component I loved so much. If that’s your dealbreaker, it’s for you. I don’t understand the fuss they made because for me, Rouge was the best. It’s a very close dupe to Baccarat, so if you don’t want to spend a fortune on something similar, it’s a good option.

  • Very good perfume, but watch out: Ruby is a clone of BCR540 Extrait, and Rouge is the EDP. If you analyze the ingredients, the differences are noticeable. Both are top-tier, but this one lacks that medicinal touch that makes the base more usable for men, while Rouge stays more feminine.

🔎👃🏻 FIRST IMPRESSIONS 👃🏻🔍 At first, it smells very much like the Baccarat extract (unlike the ‘Rouge’, which tried to copy the eau de parfum), but it has an unmistakable background from this house. I think it’s the musk, vanilla, and something more synthetic, which I notice in its other siblings, especially the ‘Amber Oud Gold Edition’. Let’s call it the brand’s ‘signature’, which I actually like. After a while, that background fades, and the composition gets even closer to the original. How close? I’d say 95%, especially as it dries down. The same thing happens to me with ‘Club de Nuit Intense Parfum’. – Are they identical? No. – Do they look very similar? Yes, 95%. – Is it worth buying before the original? Definitely. – Would you notice it blind on someone? I don’t think so. The curious thing is that, like with Baccarat, it causes olfactory fatigue. After an hour, I get bursts of it but have trouble noticing them, so I asked two friends. Both agreed it smelled strong; one said she could smell the trail. Both loved it. In summary, very satisfied for now. We’ll see more later.

Does anyone else smell that nasty metal? I get it’s a clone of the BR540, but that almond note is terrible. I notice it better in Untold, where it settles and doesn’t bother. What a disappointment; I bought it because of the hype that it would replace Amber Oud Rouge, but it doesn’t. It smells bad; I don’t know if anyone actually likes it. I tried it, and there’s no point. It doesn’t compare to Untold, Orientica, or Zara. What a shame—I got it before it sold out. It’s 60ml and almost new. If anyone in Chile wants to try it, let me know, and I’ll sell it cheap.

I have the 2023 batch, and honestly, it smells metallic, and that almond note is way off. It improves as it dries down, but it lacks projection and sticks to the skin. I think it needs to macerate for a few months since it’s very oily. For now, it’s a steal for the price and scent, but if it improves significantly, I’ll update my review.

  • Andypollis10

I own this fragrance and know very well the scent it resembles, which by the way I love. But to be honest, I have a 2023 batch and sincerely, I perceive nothing or almost nothing; it feels metallic, and that almond note feels very off. As it dries down, it improves significantly, but I don’t feel it projects anything; it stays right on the skin. However, I feel it needs to rest; I’m going to let it macerate for a few months, it might just be a lack of that since it’s quite oily… If it improves significantly, I’ll come back and post an update. For now, it’s a steal for the price, scent, quality, and longevity.

Doesn’t anyone else smell a disgusting metallic note in this perfume? I understand it’s a clone of the BR540 Extrait, but I think that almond note went very wrong. In fact, I feel it in the CDNI Untold, but there it’s much better; it settles and doesn’t bother. It has been a huge disappointment. I bought it because of the hype of being the replacement for Amber Oud Rouge and an excellent clone of the extract, but alas, it’s not. And the worst part is that it definitely smells bad. In fact, I don’t know if it actually smells pleasant to anyone. I’ve tried using it a couple of times, but there’s no point. I can’t compare it to Untold, Orientica’s Amber Rouge, or Zara’s For Him Red. What a shame, because it’s hard to find and I managed to buy it before it sold out. It’s a 60 ml bottle, almost unused. If anyone in Chile still wants to try it despite everything, let me know and I’ll sell it cheap. Seriously.

  • Andrea2021

I know nothing about Baccarat, EDP, or extract; I’ve just been wearing perfumes for 40 years, and this one disappointed me. I bought it blindly for the longevity and sillage, but on my skin, it performs like an Eau de Toilette or less. Here, it’s not cheap; it costs as much as designer brands. In terms of projection and longevity, it falls behind Natura perfumes. I use normal temperatures, and it makes no difference. Since I like powerful scents, this doesn’t convince me. It has a weird dry-down; nothing like Paco Rabanne’s Phantom. Bottom line: I like the smell, but it doesn’t perform, leaves no trail, and has no projection. A total miss for me.

  • ra-miro-01

Top-tier perfume. At first, it smells like burnt sugar at the dentist—something weird that made me hesitate—but with wear, it becomes addictive. Polarizing right out of the bottle, but everyone in the room ends up loving it.

  • I just picked up a tester with batch AHP1055. Honestly, quite disappointed. First, they let me try it on paper, and I almost guaranteed it was 90% identical to the BR. However, I came back the next day to buy it, applied it to my skin, and that’s when the disappointment hit. Fresh out of the bottle, it’s alcohol with that dentist-shop smell someone mentioned, and then nothing. It projects without a trail and offers nothing else. I’m sticking with CDN Untold.

  • The opening is very confusing; you can really smell the alcohol. Once it dries down, it’s pure delight. This perfume goes from less to more. I was scared at first, but then it transforms. It comes out like an EDT, but once dry, it feels like an Elixir.

  • I first bought a decant to test it out; I won’t break it down by notes because it feels like an impossible whole to describe. If I had to say, I liked it, but it didn’t kill me. Since I started wearing it, I’ve never received so many compliments on an impressive scent from people who usually don’t even notice. Everyone I met said I was wearing something delicious. I’m still on the fence about buying the full bottle, maybe it’ll be my winter option. Important: the trail is incredible and lasts over 12 hours on skin with intense projection.

  • I bought this perfume because I wanted to try Baccarat. I was told it was the most masculine one, but I find it quite feminine. That said, I do like it; it’s a refined scent. Maybe if it had better quality and felt more natural, it would smell luxurious. I’ll keep thinking about using it, perhaps I’ll just ignore the feminine vibe and wear it anyway. People say that projects masculinity, but I’m not looking to smell like a woman either.

  • Angelomillones666

Great fragrance, 95% similar to Baccarat and really surprised me. Lasts over 12 hours with beast mode projection. Be careful with sprays—two is plenty. Smells sweet and very strong. At first, it smells like sweet alcohol, but that fades quickly into a rich, delicious sweetness. Wow, 10 out of 10, 100% recommended.

  • Angelique137

Important to clarify: this is similar to the Baccarat Rouge 540 Extract, not the original. It’s more delicate, feminine, and perhaps more balanced than dupes like Orientica Rouge or Club de Nuit Untold. It’s subtler but has great longevity and performance. I love all the versions; if you like this DNA, you won’t be disappointed. To those who say it smells like alcohol at first: some Arabic perfume batches are rushed and need time to oxidize. Open it, spray about 10 times, and let it sit for two months.

  • JuanCanada

I own these two fragrances that are easily confused, likely due to marketing oversights or identical bottles: Ruby and Rouge. Both are copies of Baccarat Rouge 540. Here’s the difference: 1. Ruby is more subtle and delicate, resembling the Extract; it leans feminine and has earned me more compliments from women. 2. Rouge smells more metallic, slightly like blood (which I don’t fully enjoy), especially in the initial alcohol-heavy burst; it leans masculine. 3. Both are very similar to BR540, so either works well. Longevity and sillage are decent, lasting about 7-8 hours. Both give me olfactory fatigue. Which one to buy? Personally, I’d go with the cheaper option since the differences are minimal. 99% of people won’t know it’s a copy.

I have these two fragrances that get confused easily, due to marketing negligence or because the bottles are identical. I’m talking about RUBY and ROUGE. Two similar perfumes and copies of Baccarat Rouge 540. Here’s what you need to know: 1. RUBY is more subtle and delicate, resembles the BR540 extract, leans feminine, and has gotten me more compliments from women. 2. ROUGE smells more metallic, a bit like blood (which I don’t like much), especially at the start, which is also alcoholic. It tends to be more masculine. 3. BOTH are very similar to the BR540. Whichever you buy works well. Longevity and sillage are decent, around 7-8 hours. Both give me olfactory fatigue. Which one to buy? I’d buy the cheaper one since the differences are minimal. 99% of the public wouldn’t be able to tell which one you’re wearing or know it’s a copy.

  • Angelique137

Important note: this is similar to the Baccarat Rouge 540 EXTRAIT, not the original. It’s more delicate, feminine, and perhaps more balanced than the BR540 dupes (Orientica Rouge, Club de Nuit Untold). It goes unnoticed more easily because of that, but it has good longevity and projection. I love all the versions; if you like this DNA, you won’t be disappointed. Those who say it smells like alcohol at first are right—some batches of Arabic perfumes come out very fast and need to oxidize. Once opened, spray it about 10 times and leave it closed for 2 months.

  • theayrton

Bought the 5ml decant to test it; I haven’t tried the Parfum or Extract so I can’t say if they’re truly similar. What I do know is that it didn’t last on me at all—not even a minimal trail, and if there is one, it lasts about an hour. I sprayed it on my clothes, and I can only smell it when I lean in close. I love the scent, so I’ll give it another chance and update the review if needed.

  • The tester arrived with the Gold Edition, and the opening is horrible—thank God it lasts only a minute. After that, the dry down is an elegant sweetness that not everyone will enjoy. Great longevity and moderate projection, I’d rate it 7.5 out of 10.

  • I’ll admit I hated this scent at first; it smelled like latex gloves. But after two weeks of aging, the Baccarat Rouge DNA really shines through. The sweetness is airy and light, nothing heavy like Scandal, and it doesn’t bother anyone—everyone seems to like it. The longevity and projection are lovely, though I do get some olfactory fatigue. I picked it up for $40 in Chile for 120ml, which is a great price. If you don’t like it, let it age; it’s one of my favorite DNA scents, and for a reason, it’s the most copied fragrance in the world.
