Descripción

Aoud Lemon Mint by Mancera is an aromatic woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2016, the nose behind this creation is Pierre Montale. The top notes unfold with lemon, sour lime, almond, black pepper, and coriander; the heart reveals oud wood, patchouli, Egyptian jasmine, and mint; while the base notes settle on vanilla, amber, white musk, vetiver, and leather.

  • Aoud Lemon Mint is a lying perfume. Nothing is what they make you believe, as it changes as it evolves, and the fresh opening has little to do with the heart and trail. I don’t think it’s simple, but more than because of the oud, it’s because of the opening where there are strange tones among the citrus notes. There’s an animalic nuance that stands out within minutes, but I don’t identify it as oud (this is very perceptible in the heart and the aromas don’t match), so I suppose it’s the blend of coriander, mint, and almond. Fortunately, it lasts only a couple of minutes and doesn’t overpower the refreshing opening. It’s not a standard citrus, although the lemon is overwhelming at the start; we’re dealing with a predominantly woody perfume, featuring an oud with medicinal and sweet nuances that come more from the wood itself, and a notable jasmine that adds body and a floral touch. The citrus part is dominant at the beginning, a phase that seems prolonged because the lemon and mint (an undeclared but very present note) stretch their presence more than usual. To these opening notes, an almond joins, noticeable at first with that strange aroma, turning sweet like a tonka style. But the almond doesn’t maintain that tone nor is it the protagonist, as it acts as a supporting player for an oud that does become dominant. You can appreciate the step into the heart: the citrus brilliance ceases, giving way to a dry, woody aroma that turns sweet without being heavy or cloying, with a certain floral air thanks to the jasmine. The almond contributes its sweet and bitter component, acting as a bridge between the opening and a sweeter heart in a style that recalls Guerlain L’Homme Ideal, but only recalls it. For my taste, this is the moment I enjoy most; at the start, the citrus are synthetic and the mint doesn’t mitigate that sensation. Here the perfume has shifted, leaving the citrus behind to give way to woods that lead into sweet, powdery vanilla notes, the phase in which it dies after about six to eight hours depending on the day. It must have been reformulated, because although it feels constant and soft, it’s not as amazing as was previously said; longevity and projection are correct, slightly above average for today. It’s of a casual cut, very versatile though not light, so if used heavily it can get tiring. I don’t consider it for blind buying, since its opening may seem pleasant but has particular nuances and an evolution opposite to what the bottle suggests. A curious creation, with complexity and olfactory changes throughout its life, to which perhaps it lacks those natural notes one presupposes because it’s ‘niche’. Although I like it, I probably would have tried others first, but I understand why it has such fame and usually pleases people.

If you like Guerlain L’Homme Ideal but it doesn’t last nearly as long as it does for me, this fragrance is for you. To my nose, it’s an L’Homme Ideal with much better longevity and sillage. I don’t understand why some YouTubers call it ‘challenging’; it’s true that it’s not a common scent and that’s good, but it’s very delicious. Aoud Lemon Mint is somewhat mature, though with certain versatility. I’ve really liked this Mancera; the mint aspect might be due to a certain freshness that lingers, because in reality, it doesn’t have a mint note. For now, it holds the second spot in my Mancera top list, with Lemon Line being number one.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I can’t smell it on my skin after three hours. It’s an exquisite scent but it doesn’t last at all for me. I’ve heard before that the Mancera magnetic cap versions don’t have the same strength; does anyone else experience this?

  • DiegoMSHK

I don’t know if I’m the only one or just getting old, but this reminds me a lot of the discontinued Dolce & Gabbana By with the zebra print bottle.

  • Synthetic, acidic, and slightly unbalanced fragrance. Totally unisex; a 25-year-old man or a 70-year-old woman would both pull it off. It opens with a very prominent lemon note layered over a minty top (mint is listed as an official note on their website, so I’m not sure why it’s not noticeable here), all built over a super artificial almond note that doesn’t take the lead. In the dry down, vanilla becomes more apparent over a woody base. I’m not an oud expert, but I don’t detect anything resembling it here. It’s not a beast mode, at least not my 2021 batch. It lasts about 8 hours with a strong sillage for the first 2 or 3 hours. I like it, but it doesn’t drive me crazy. I never recommend blind buying, and especially not this one, since the scent is particular and lacks clear references (I don’t smell it similar to L’Homme Ideal EDT).

  • I bought it blind this week. I’d been after it for over a year. Dry down is interesting and high quality. But on my skin, with 25°C at home, I don’t like it so far because it smells synthetic and very linear. I expected something else, at least of higher quality. Also, even though it’s unisex, it leans a bit feminine. Anyway, I’ll have to test it thoroughly; I just hope it improves in the cold. P.S.: My version has a screw cap.

  • Sorry, it smells like another flanker of L’Homme Ideal, but it lasts nothing. I’m a collector and a fan of Mancera and Montale, and this is the only Mancera with terrible projection and longevity. Barely anything on clothes and literally 10 seconds on skin. What a shame.

  • Just one thing we often forget: olfactory fatigue can trick us. It happens with many fragrances where I stop smelling them after an hour or two, but my friends say it still smells strong. With Aoud Lemon Mint, I have the 2020 batch and I’m thrilled.

  • The perfume is well-made. First, the performance is perfect—it lasts about 16 hours (even after showering). Then, its versatility is insane: it works for everything; you look good in the day and project a lot at night; it’s attractive and seductive. In my opinion, it has at least a 90% approval rate. Everyone who’s smelled it, whether on me or in the bottle, liked it—zero negative feedback. It’s quite linear; the oud is super shy and I don’t even notice the leather; honestly, it bores me a bit that it’s so powerful and long-lasting without developing much, which is why I don’t wear it often. Still, it’s a very good perfume, ideal for dipping into niche (much better than Cedrat Boisee and less exaggerated than Red Tobacco). Highly recommended.

  • Another great hit from the house. It’s playful and sexy, but watch out: depending on your skin, it can sound masculine or feminine, so better to test before buying blindly. Performance is top-notch in every way. 9/10

  • UnTalArmas

An opening where I identify lemon, oud, and almond creating a very pleasant, clean, and elegant aroma. I loved it from the first spray, and there are even days when I don’t wear it but I like smelling the cap. In the heart, the lemon continues but I detect that evolution into a stronger almond and a subtle vanilla. By the base, lemon, vanilla, and jasmine are a delight where I can’t stop smelling my arm. An elegant and masculine aroma; I’d wear it in almost any season and would consider it a signature fragrance. Highly recommended.

  • nneestorr

Pleasant smell, I can’t identify many notes. To my nose, it leans a bit feminine. Good performance without being a beast. It’s the typical Mancera base that works, not particularly original for that very reason.

  • Lemon, mint, wood. That’s it, but it’s combined very well. Just don’t expect a natural scent; it’s noticeable as synthetic but nothing harsh. The oud is easy-going and makes the composition last a long time. It’s the longest-lasting citrus I’ve tried.

  • Mauro.A.81

Rich smell, citrus, a bit creamy, sweet, and woody are what I perceive most. In my case, I can’t complain about longevity since it performs well; on my skin it lasts eight hours, and on clothes, some scent remains the next day. I mainly like to wear it in cool weather.

  • Smells great, perfect for heat. Starts citrusy then becomes creamy with an almond scent, though to me it smells a bit like coconut cream, haha. It’s an easy-to-please aroma that brings freshness. It looks like a good everyday pick unless you’re in a very formal setting. Longevity is good, projection isn’t huge but it’s fine. I give it a 9.5/10. It’s a great perfume.

  • 2021 batch with a magnetic cap. If you’re not an expert, the opening smells a bit like a lady’s perfume, but don’t be fooled: it lasts 20-30 minutes and then the good stuff kicks in. Lemon, a touch of mint, wearable wood, and a sweet note. When dry, it smells excellent. The trail and projection are about half a meter. Longevity is easily 6-8 hours (I live in 34 degrees with high humidity).

  • ShiseidoTactics

I couldn’t identify the oud, but I did get that mix of lemon and mint which, though it might seem obvious, turned out exquisite to me. The patchouli isn’t bothersome, adding an herbal touch, while the almond provides sweetness. It’s 100% unisex. It felt very vintage due to the complexity of its notes.

  • The best Mancera to date: powerful with 99% acceptance, everyone loves it. It opens with mint instantly, moves to citrus, and then reveals its true face: lots of creamy almond, wearable oud, light vanilla, moderate sweetness, and a white floral base. I don’t wear it daily because it’s a cocktail that could be heavy, but it’s incredibly rich. Ideal if you’re not sensitive to scents and like powerful perfumes.

  • Versatile and amazing: the fresh, slightly sweet citrus opening is ideal for heat, while the creamy almond and vanilla dry-down makes it perfect for autumn. If I had to choose just one daytime perfume for all year round, it would be this one.

  • @Kikafica, your comment about ‘feminine notes’ in your review seems to be chasing the monopoly on the feminine use of this fragrance. LOL.

  • I saw reviews for this brand and in-store I was only tempted to try Cedrat Boise and Alm. Upon smelling them, this one won me over completely; it’s a new scent that made me realize niche perfumes have real quality. It’s elegant, mature, and everyone at work loves how it smells. The opening is strong and pleasant, then it dries down to become very sweet. It lasts days on clothes, it’s a top pick in my collection, and I wear it for formal events, sometimes at work just so my colleagues can smell it. I see it as unisex, leaning more masculine.

  • vladidelmundo

With Mancera, there are perfumes that are true jewels and others that pass without a trace. This is one of the multiple ouds from the house that serve to fill out the catalog but add little value. The scent is a softened synthetic oud that smells like an old lady in the opening and then evolves to make way for a potpourri of patchouli and somewhat chlorophyllic notes. There’s no bright, acidic, juicy, or effervescent lemon to give vitality, but rather a slight flat lemon-cardboard accord that gets overshadowed by the oud-patchouli-vetiver.

  • First impression: the opening smells like a room freshener, strong lemon, mentholated pine, and lavender. 😖. After an hour, it improves and the feminine notes emerge, delicate flowers, and a bit of sweetness. This perfume lasts about 12 hours with just one spray. The opening is disgusting to me. Otherwise, it’s very average, unisex for all year and all occasions.

  • It’s a fragrance I really like, but the dry down. Once the opening notes are gone, it has a fairly refined and elegant aroma due to the almond, which gives it a lot of creaminess and heaviness, but to get to that dry down and wait for that transition, I honestly don’t like its initial scent: it’s dominant and heavy. I gave it a lot of chances trying to make me like it; I bought 60 ml, used 40 ml, and I was never comfortable with its scent, not even when it dried down. I ended up gifting it. I suggest trying a decant and not buying it blind.

  • The opening is strong and can be unpleasant because it smells like turpentine. It’s a perfume with great trail and longevity. I recommend not buying blind and spraying only 2-3 times (no more), because once it dries down, it’s a beast.

  • Victortor

I can’t quite break down the notes of this fragrance. What I recognize is that I like it. It’s a citrus combo that’s not sharp or bright, a bit creamy, becoming more aromatic with each passing hour, with a sweet base that doesn’t stand out. I struggle to say what that is, but it seems like a scent hard to dislike. For some noses, there might be something bitter, but for me, everything adds up. Good price, excellent performance, and versatile. True, it’s too dense for the beach… and for a formal event, hmm, maybe not the best option. Still, it remains versatile. A pleasant proposal from the house.

  • nestordff

I just bought a decant of this perfume and nine others from the house. Maybe the notes caught my attention, but I think it’s the one I’ve liked the least. The opening is unbearable; I don’t know if it’s the coriander or what, but it smells a lot like the opening of Kouros, and I can’t stand it. It mellows a bit when it dries down, but it’s still there, slightly. The dry down is a synthetic mix, too flat and piercing; I feel like I’m wearing a weird room freshener, not a 150-euro perfume. No blind buys, it’s a scent for a few. Most people won’t like it. It’s not a Cedrat Boise, which smells more generic and easy… this is one of those that makes 90% of people nauseous, and some might go crazy for its peculiarity, but I don’t see any olfactory magic here, just something strange. I expected magic from the explosion of bergamot and mint, but I don’t feel that freshness; it’s more of a cloying scent.

  • It’s one of those perfumes that, once you get into the hobby, you love more over time. If I had to define it, it’s exactly what its name says: a citrus and mentholated opening, that fresh touch alongside the citrus, giving way to a woody heart. After an hour or two, it leaves some creamy accords and lingers on the skin as a soft, woody mint. It’s not a 10, but on average, I’d give it an 8. Scent: 8-10, Projection: 9-10, Longevity: 8.5-10, Essence Quality: 7.

  • A great trigger for hot weather, but after two sprays at night, I get dizzy. Once I wore it to a barbecue; besides the smoke, my family could smell it from miles away.

  • Been waiting a while to try this, the one everyone says is in Mancera’s top 5. It’s my fifth from the brand, and honestly, I’m not sure if I regret it. It’s not the fresh, summery Mancera I was hoping for, nor anything original I haven’t smelled before, or a beast. Maybe that has to do with my Bach 2023 with the magnetic cap, perhaps a reformulation. In reality, it’s sweet, spicy, and warm, with a clear nod to L’Homme Ideal thanks to that almond note. And there’s the problem: almonds don’t work well for me; I already sold my two L’Homme Ideal bottles. It’s slightly sweet with woods and oud in the base. Pleasant once it dries down, but the opening is shrill and synthetic. Lasts about 5-6 hours with subtle projection. I’ll let it macerate for a few months; maybe oxygen will do some magic.

  • RoosterMoretti

A couple of years ago, I started hearing about ‘niche’ and ‘Mancera’ and had no idea where to start (plus, in my country, you usually don’t find Mancera testers). My big bet was Red Tobacco, and I loved it. Then came Silver Blue, followed by Tonka Cola, but I always heard about Oud Lemon Mint. It wasn’t until a few days ago that I dared to buy it blindly, and holy cow, what a great perfume. I’d been buying fragrances for months (mostly blind) without being surprised like when I first started collecting, but I admit that the Lemon Mint scent is on another level; it could easily be my signature fragrance. Although it’s unisex masculine (or at least that’s how I see it), it’s something that hardly anyone would resist smelling or praising. Not far away, at work, four colleagues liked it (curiously, only men, no woman commented), certainly an excellent option for the office.

  • BassoProfumo

This perfume has the DNA of Guerlain’s L’Homme Idéal line. It could almost be a flanker; it could have been called ‘L’Homme Idéal Oud.’ Good longevity, though the projection isn’t as strong.

  • I want to say this isn’t for everyone. It doesn’t have that common scent you find in many perfumes; on the contrary, the first impression can be surprising. In my experience, the opening is an intense mix of citrus, oud, and mint, with a subtle touch of vetiver. Out of all the Mancera perfumes I own, this is undoubtedly my favorite. It stands out for longevity and projection; in my case, my batch is an absolute beast. It’s very versatile and reminds me of Aoud Blue Notes from the same house, though this one feels more acidic due to the citrus. The oud is clear, and unlike Aoud Blue Notes, there’s no leather or those fruity notes. In summary, it’s an excellent perfume, but it’s one of those you either love or hate. That’s why I don’t recommend buying it blindly. In fact, I gifted it to my brother, and he ended up returning it.

  • JuanCarlosMarreroPerez

Its trail is exquisite and smells different than when you sniff it close on the skin. Good price for a fragrance that works in both cold and heat and lasts 8 hours or more.

  • Exquisite fragrance, I thought it would be another citrus one, but no, it’s different and very great.

  • I love it when I wear it, but if I don’t give it a break for a few days or weeks, it starts to get tiring. It has a very ‘heady’ scent that I enjoy, but only occasionally. The opening is a literal bomb: sweet citrus, mint, and a very present oud. Over time, the citrus and mint settle down (they don’t disappear), and the scent transforms into a sweet yet fresh oud with an effervescent feeling like a cola soda, a real gem. It’s very particular, unique, and fun, without falling into unusable niche traps like ‘dinosaur graveyard’ or ‘far west stable.’ Mancera with this Aoud Lemon Mint creates a perfume that sets you apart with class and elegance. Performance worthy of the brand: on my skin, it lasts over 12 hours with strong projection for the first 4 or 5 hours. Don’t be afraid to wear it in closed offices; moderating sprays (2 or 3 at most) makes it perfect. It’s versatile: less in summer, more in winter. Although it seems more for men, I encourage women who like fresh, mentholated, and oud perfumes, since oud is the main note here. In short, it’s one of Mancera’s best creations I’ve tried for scent, performance, and originality, plus it comes in a very cool iridescent bottle.

  • This is oud, oud, and more oud. It might have other ingredients, but the oud drowns them all out. Be careful with the sprays; three is enough for the whole day. When I first applied it, I felt the same vibe as LV’s Ombré Nomade.

  • Those who say it’s for summer must mean Antarctic summer. This perfume has extraordinary power and becomes suffocating in hot summers. For everything else, 10/10.

  • Pablocrz2610

It’s a creamy citrus with oud that you’ll absolutely love. Super versatile, lasts forever, and projects like crazy. Highly recommended.
