Tom Ford's Noir Extreme is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2015, the nose behind this composition is Sonia Constant. The top notes unfold with cardamom, nutmeg, saffron, mandarin, and neroli; the heart reveals kulfi, rose, lentisk labdanum resin, orange blossom, and jasmine; while the base notes land on vanilla, amber, woody notes, and sandalwood.

In one word: exquisite. Maybe it’s not as famous, but that’s its magic. It’s the only gourmand I own and I still haven’t been able to replace it.

  • Valentin Aponte

Three weeks ago I tried Godolphin (looking for leather) and Tom Ford Noir Extreme. The latter was a wonder; I almost took it home, but it reminded me too much of Spicebomb Extreme. In the end, I chose Godolphin by Parfums de Marly. Does anyone else experience this? I still want to buy it.

  • Vanilla pastry gourmand for men, perfect for informal winter situations. Not for work or serious events, but for celebrations, dinners, dates, or clubbing. I’ve worn it for three years and still enjoy it. Recommend trying it on skin before buying.

  • Amazing perfume! Exquisite, period. At first, you can’t imagine it, but as it dries down, it becomes the best: amber, vanilla, and woods, a sublime and addictive aroma. I loved it and will keep trying more Tom Ford jewels.

  • Again, surprised that there are only male reviews. Dare to try it! The universe of ‘men’s fragrances’ has fascinating surprises for women’s skin. An enveloping blend of cardamom, nutmeg, saffron, citrus, flowers, vanilla, amber, woods, and sandalwood. It’s worth it and shouldn’t be limited to men. On my skin, it’s a caress: sweet, solar, fresh, and warm. It’s my coziest, most intimate, close, and elegant gourmand.

  • I haven’t bought it yet, but I tried a sample and it was simply exquisite. I love the Tom Ford house: Black Orchid was my first gift, and now I keep exploring. Noir Extreme surpasses everything I’ve had. I can’t describe it, but applying it gave me a shiver; my entire being delighted. Strong without being offensive, intense without being off-putting. The evolution of notes is a sensory experience; everyone asks what I’m wearing. Fascinating.

  • Ideal for cold days, sexy and seductive. Unisex with a masculine leaning due to its strong woody notes. One of my favorites, alongside Spicebomb Extreme, for winter.

A niche aroma that captivates anyone who tries it, except Tom Ford’s Private Blend collection. The others are pleasant and reasonably priced. Maybe it projects less and lasts a bit shorter, but the scent is exquisite. Sonia Constant creates masterpieces, and this Noir Extreme is no exception.

Sir, this is pure love! Sweet&Spicy is made just for me 😍. Forget gender labels; it’s a delight for anyone who knows how to enjoy well-crafted scents.

  • CesarMed74

It’s delicious. Very elegant, very niche. But it curiously reminds me of Daniel Josier’s Mystery Oud, which costs three times less! 😅🤷🏼♂️

Sophisticated, elegant, and sensual: that’s how I define it. A luxury in every drop.

  • Perfectly balanced, only the Kulfi stands out a little, but it’s not heavy or overly sweet. You get the urge to eat this fragrance 🥵

The ultimate fragrance for dates, I have no words to express the pleasure this perfume gives me when I smell it. A gourmand composition, where the main notes will be cardamom, some other spices, but what gives it the charm is that creamy base created thanks to Kulfi and sandalwood together with vanilla. This screams seduction and class; a very sensual and erotic perfume that I consider works wonderfully on dates, as its olfactory profile doesn’t project much, but stays in your personal circle, but that opens the door for the other person to be invited to physical closeness. It’s an addictive aroma that’s worth its price, it has the Tom Ford seal (class, elegance, and seduction). Totally recommended, my favorite Tom Ford perfume for now.

  • Noir Extreme is one of those perfumes capable of transporting you to an autumn night, the air charged with mystery and luxury, as if you were entering a private salon where whisky, exotic spices, and noble woods fill the atmosphere. The first impression is overwhelming, a hit of cardamom and nutmeg, which feels like a warm embrace but with that intriguing point that keeps the senses alert. As it settles, appears what for me is the heart of Noir Extreme: a familiar smell but one you can’t identify, that type of scent for which you ask for help on Fragrantica and… ah, a creamy kulfi bathed in vanilla and amber. We jump from Fragrantica to Wikipedia to find out what that mysterious kulfi is: ‘Kulfi is a very popular dessert in Pakistan based on a frozen yogurt made with boiled milk. Kulfi can have various flavors depending on whether it has been aromatized with pistachio, malai, mango, cardamom, apple, peanut, and/or saffron; in this case, it provides a very attractive orange color for Hindus.’ Here is where the perfume shines and, at the same time, becomes more personal. The sweetness is enveloping, but far from cloying, it has control over itself. Sometimes I close my eyes and it seems to me I’m in some spice market in the late afternoon, that moment when the scents of sweets and spices intermingle in the air. I’m surprised how well the amber integrates, which doesn’t fall into being overburdened, something that usually happens with other oriental perfumes. And although the damned ambroxan is present, it doesn’t abuse it, which I appreciate, as it’s usually my Achilles’ heel. Here it simply balances the composition, adding that fresh and clean touch that contrasts wonderfully with the opulence of the deeper notes. What captivates me about Noir Extreme is that it refuses to be boxed in. It’s elegant, yes, but with a provocative touch that makes it suitable for more than formal dinners or etiquette events. This perfume is pure versatility: it works just as well on a cold night as on an autumnal sunset, although I probably wouldn’t choose it for very hot days. The sweetness and spice would feel out of place in stifling environments. Now, it’s not a perfume for everyone, of course. The dense, spicy sweetness can be too much for those looking for something fresher or lighter. For me, however, it’s that type of fragrance I enjoy occasionally, like when you treat yourself to an elaborate dessert after a good meal: it’s not something you need every day, but when you do, you enjoy it to the fullest. As for its longevity, it’s okay but not one that’s hard to get off the skin; by 5-6 hours it’s almost gone. It could last longer, but I don’t mind reapplying it as long as I can return to that intense opening and the way it evolves. Its biggest flaw is its price, which, while not prohibitive, forces you to be sparing with reapplication and reserve it for special occasions.

  • Literally smells like night. Quite creamy vanilla (I guess it’s the famous kulfi) with a touch of rose and makeup. When I let a friend smell it, the first thing he said without me hinting at anything was that it smelled like ‘a party night’. It really evokes that. It could suit a woman very well, but on a man it gives the impression of a stylish young adult. Good performance leaning towards moderate. Expensive but worth its price.

  • I bought it at Glasgow airport a week ago. Charming, elegant, modern, and very sensual. It invites closeness. I’m eager to try it at night, on a date with my wife. For men who know what they want, but be careful. If a woman dares to wear this, she’ll get addicted.

  • Tom Ford Noir Extreme: Batch ‘2020’. First, its resemblance to Armaf’s Oud for Great Women Black Edition is justified, although in my perception they only look a little alike; if they play in the same league, they are two different things. The curious thing is that I like the Armaf one more, while my wife prefers the Tom Ford Noir Extreme. She says this one is adult, dark, sexy, and perfect, while the Armaf one is more youthful, amateur, easy-going, and flashy. The truth is, Noir Extreme is striking, suggestive, and irresistible. It’s a cunning fragrance that actively seeks personal and general satisfaction. It’s characterized by a fast, unexpected reaction, like an impulse that generates with force. It’s an appetizing, desirable, and mischievous fragrance, as it clearly intends to obtain and retain the attention of whoever is in front of you. It shows a way to distinguish oneself as special; it’s an extroverted and assertive aroma. Hard to describe the emotions it provokes, but in summary: if you have the personality, style, intelligence, and means, this fragrance exhibits you with those qualities. It’s sweet but fresh, not cloying, just adorning the scene by combining cardamom and vanilla: a warm yet fresh and refined aroma that provides comfort and security. For me, it’s a luxury fragrance for a young adult winner in every sense, a winning man, confident in himself, who knows what he wants and generally gets it. Its use is totally nocturnal. As for performance in my case, it’s been good; the ingredients are of superior quality. It’s expensive, but every penny is worth it. I don’t know if it was reformulated. Scent: 10. Projection: 2 hours. Longevity: 5 hours on skin, 7 on clothes. Recommended.

  • I understand the devotees, but it’s not my style. I perceive a background citrus punch and spices at the start. Then, as it dries down, a sweet part stands out, like a dessert… which on my skin highlights a milky tone that doesn’t suit me. I don’t dislike it, but it’s not for me. Good for cold seasons and versatile. Very, very limited projection.

  • JohnAcosta25

To put it mildly, this fragrance is a hit, a wonderful high-end gourmand composition: sophisticated, elegant, and sensual. I feel it’s very mature, highlighting the nutmeg and cardamomo until reaching the note that makes it unique: ‘Kulfi’, which gives it a creamy, slightly milky air, rounding out its woody and vanilla notes. I find it very wearable, nothing invasive, with intimate projection in cold weather and at night. It’s like a truffle and vanilla dessert; being this TFNE my favorite from Tom Ford, right alongside Costa Azzura Parfum. My only objection is that I only have three months of cold here a year, so I’m holding off on buying my first bottle to save it, although I’ve tried it in samples and decants since it’s easy to get as it’s the commercial TF line. Curiously, I got to know it when a woman from my family who works in the medical sector was wearing it. So it can be quite unisex in reality.

  • Brutal fragrance. I can’t praise it enough, even though it’s Tom Ford and not cheap. To be honest: it would be a masterpiece if it lasted longer and projected better. Of course, that’s why they released the Parfum, though I don’t have it. This one is a delight, almost a masterpiece. For me, from start to finish: it opens strong, then turns spicy, vanilla, powdery, and creamy. Obviously sweet. I confirm, it’s mature, sexy depending on the occasion and how you wear it; not for youth clubs, though everyone’s different. I see it for meetings, dates, dinners, or formal parties. It’s more for being close, enjoying it personally or with your partner in intimacy. All this is my personal experience and viewpoint, as I’m not an expert. Cheers!

After several months, I want to re-evaluate it. What does it smell like? For the first 5 or 10 minutes, it’s ultra-spiced: cardamom and vanilla make an extremely intense combination, like a spice market. It’s not bright or for everyone; it has many dark nuances, even at the start it’s a bit unpleasant, at least for me. After those ten minutes, it becomes more resinous or woody without forgetting the vanilla and cardamom. That resinous scent reminds me of a trip to a cabin in the woods I took years ago; that scent lasts the entire life of the perfume. Which occasions seem appropriate to me? A funeral or a sexual date. It’s really not versatile. In my opinion, it’s an extremely challenging perfume. Should I recommend it? If you’re a very serious man with a dominant personality, then yes. Otherwise, forget it, Tom Ford has many other fragrances for you.

  • ManucoSeven

I want to eat it; it smells like walking into a bakery selling bread. The vanilla is the richest and subtlest I’ve ever smelled (I specify this because I hate vanilla in perfumes). It seems quite unisex, what richness? Nothing heavy, nothing intrusive or explosive, nor do I consider it sweet enough. Simply, it’s a beauty.

  • Tested dry with two sprays. It’s a piece of jewelry in perfumery. Denotes superior quality but is pleasant for everyone. Vanilla, creamy, lactonic; it’s everything I’ve experienced. There might be better options for the price, certainly, but this is bottled class. Totally unisex.

  • fedemenendeez

Total disappointment. I went to the perfumerie to test the Parfum, they gave me the EDP by mistake; I decided to keep it because I originally liked this one, which is less spiced. However, the longevity and projection of the new batches are abysmal: 4 hours on my skin with very soft projection. Maybe for a romantic date or a moment when you don’t want your perfume to be noticed beyond arm’s length, that’s where you’d find what you’re looking for.

  • Moderate, slightly sweet, floral, and elegant, yet substantial; it has a base that gives it balanced masculinity. Overall, it’s a bit linear but full of charm. The secret is that subtle contained floral sweetness held back by a woody base; it pleases both girls and guys. Ideal for the office or for projecting a pleasant, seductive aura; it’s not a bomb, but it will earn compliments. Not high impact, rather balanced and captivating. If you’re looking for something innovative or high-impact, this might not be your pick, but for special occasions where you want to look seductive and balanced, it’s a great alternative.

  • It smells a bit soapy to me. I’ve tested it several times and always get a soap note. I expected it to be more vanilla-forward. It just doesn’t appeal to me, neither for men nor women.

  • Elegant, sweet, a bit effeminate yet masculine. It has decent projection but poor longevity, which isn’t bad if you see it as something discreet and intimate; seriously, it lasts so little you could use it as a skin scent.

  • Leonardo Quiroz

Delicious from start to finish, designed for mature men. But for the price, I prefer buying Spicebomb by Victor & Rolf, which is basically the same perfume in a different bottle. I own Spicebomb and tested Noir Extreme at a perfumerie; they are identical.

  • The most spectacular of them all: enchanting projection without being overwhelming. That dark spiced vanilla makes Noir Extreme one of Tom Ford’s most versatile and delicious fragrances, unlike others that split opinions. Some might call it commercial, but its ultra-refined quality doesn’t drop a point. Nowadays, people just want to smell good; no one stops to think if it’s ‘commercial’ or not. Conclusion: Want something that pleases and enchants with TF quality? Noir Extreme. I recommend it 100% if you get the chance to try it.

  • ianrodriguez

It’s a work of art, like a painting by a master. Putting it into words is difficult, but anyone who hasn’t tried it will know that when it dries, it smells like freshly baked nut cookies with vanilla ice cream. It smells like a warm, comforting dessert, so real and appetizing that you almost want to taste it.

  • Smells rich and interesting right out of the bottle, but once it dries down on the skin, I don’t like it as much. I’m not sure exactly why, but that ending gives me a slight headache. I suspect it’s the labdanum resin or the kulfi, leaving an unappealing mossy nuance. Even my girlfriend didn’t like it, though I told her it was a Tom Ford. Luckily, it was a 2 ml decant that cost me $10, so it just serves as another hobby sample without regrets. Final rating: 7.1/10.

  • Elegant to the max, it changes my mood. For me, it’s the best in the line and one of my favorite Tom Fords.

  • I was about to toss it after months of use, but I didn’t get a chance to test it in winter. In the cold, it unleashes its best version—super delicious with all the interesting notes active. Ideal for going out or seducing, unisex masculine. Though I still prefer the Noir Extreme for that leather note.

  • I’ve never smelled anything like it. I save it for special occasions. I’m not sure if it’s the Kulfi, but it has that something that makes it unique.

  • At first, I thought I had my expectations too high for TF. The fragrance isn’t bad; it has quality, but the price is steep for a somewhat generic scent. It reminds me of an older lady I know who overuses an Arabic perfume and overwhelms me. The opening is rich, lasts a few seconds, then spices take over with saffron, followed by an unknown sweet note, and finally a very realistic vanilla. I feel it’s unisex; I’ll give it a chance because it might grow on me over time. Longevity: very good, over 6 hours on skin. Season: winter and night. Sillage: more personal. Today is 03/02/2026; in my country it’s 16 degrees, but here in the Caribbean it’s cold, so I took the chance to wear it. Wow! The truth is, it’s absolutely delicious and definitely for cold, nighttime weather (I tested it on rainy, humid days before), it simply shines, and I’ve completely changed my mind. Season: definitely cold and night. Sillage: medium-personal. Longevity: over 10 hours on clothes and over 8 on skin.

  • Exclusive perfume for hitting on sugar mommies, no joke: in fancy places, ladies stare right at you, and one even approached saying it was the best scent she’d ever tried. Since then, I haven’t worn it again.

  • This perfume is amazing—super cozy, seductive, and creamy. Leaves a velvety, rich sensation. I think it’s unisex; at first I thought of the Noir Pour Femme edition, but they didn’t have it, and I’m not regretting the purchase. It’s my favorite alongside Velvet Orchid.

  • JavierSantana

Caught it on the spot while testing a lineup and it stuck with me. Got the small flacon. It’s like 1 Million but modernized—more opulent and refined, with that ‘intoxicating’ vibe English speakers use for perfumes that are too pleasing. Spiced opening with a creamy heart/base: vanilla, ambroxan, superambers, and cashmeran give it a woody yet fresh aura to that amber and vanilla. The kulfi accord is a hit. One of the best for seduction out there.
