I tested this Guerlain Homme and the first impression is a completely feminine and sugary scent. It smells pleasant, but when it dries down, it’s very similar to Shalimar. It lasts on the skin but doesn’t project much. It’s very soft, ideal for summer because it’s not intrusive. For me, it’s a summery Shalimar.
Delicious, citrusy, refreshing, and gorgeous. It has that alcoholic vibe that makes me think of a mojito: a drink with lemon and mint. It’s very natural and revitalizing. Many people complain about the projection and longevity, but on my skin it works great: I get 6 to 8 hours, which is perfect. You can apply it as many times as you want; I use up to 10 sprays and it doesn’t feel heavy. Very enjoyable, can be worn at night without issues, suitable for both formal and informal settings. A great option for summer, highly recommended, I love it.
“SOFT, FRESH, AND REFINED.” Guerlain is pronounced ‘guer-lay’ and is one of the oldest houses. The opening is very fresh and citrusy (lemon, vetiver, mojito, bergamot, mint). Very refreshing, ideal for hot climates. It’s not sweet. Nowadays, few fragrances work for casual, semi-formal, and formal occasions at the same time. This one is no exception! Any setting works. Very versatile. I find the longevity and projection a bit weak, but since you can reapply, you enjoy it again. For men 25 and up. I wish I could smell Guerlain Homme and Guerlain Homme L’Eau Boisée, because for me, Boisée is much better: more interesting and elegant.
Alo Paris! Since I tried it, it’s been one of my favorites. It’s citrusy and fresh, but packed with sensuality and elegance in every note. I think it’s perfect for any occasion. The longevity is ideal for me, lasting up to 12 hours.
The reviews for Rozz already say it all; they save us the trouble, haha. I had lost faith in Guerlain after my bad experience with Habit Rouge, but this fragrance has delighted me. More than woody-aromatic, I’d say it’s citrus-aromatic. A triumph from Guerlain.
I stay fresh all day; even when I sweat a bit, the fragrance lingers enough to make me feel my best. One of the best options for daytime wear.
Sweet yet soft aroma, with citrus notes that blend perfectly with woods, mint, and vetiver, plus that touch of alcoholic beverage. Everything is well-mixed; nothing overpowers. Elegant and versatile, ideal for summer with its moderate sillage. Recommended for men 24 and up. A great alternative to overused daily scents like 212, Acqua di Gio, or L’Eau d’Issey.
A youthful and stylish scent, truly a masterpiece! It has everything I look for in a summer fragrance: fresh, citrusy at first, with spiced water notes. On my skin (which smells good on its own, humble brag), it clings beautifully, leaving a trail of woods and soft vetiver, with a pleasant, almost powdery earthy base. By the end, the liquor note from the mid-notes takes over, sealing a perfume that doesn’t feel like it’s for older men. Bonus tip: Pronunciation in Spanish is GuerLAin (stressed on the last syllable); in English, GUERlan; in French, GUERla (all stressed on the last syllable).
A youthful aroma in a stylish bottle. For me, it’s a masterpiece, sublime; everything I could expect from a summer perfume is here. Very fresh and citrusy from the start, with subtle spiced water and fresh aromas. On my skin, which smells great without perfume (humbly), it absorbs well, emitting a trail of woods and a soft vetiver with an almost dusty, earthy base, very pleasant and harmonious. At the end, the liquor note present in its heart dominates, sealing a perfume that in no way leaves the impression of being for older men. Extra fact: Pronunciation in Spanish: GuerLAin (stressed on the second syllable). In English: GUERlan (stressed on the second syllable). In French: GUERla (stressed on the second syllable).
Greetings. Since I bought this fragrance, I must say I fell in love with it. It’s not the eighth wonder, but it is very good. It has great longevity, though with moderate-to-low sillage, at least in my case, but it lasts until the next day on clothes. It’s for those looking for something uncommon and original, not as commercial and mass-produced as Carolina 212, 1 Million, Invictus, Hugo Boss, Issey, Perry Ellis 360 Red, Acqua di Gio, etc.
I liked it. It feels like another fragrance that doesn’t follow trends. It’s very fresh and gives that refreshing drink sensation like a mojito. I think my taste in Guerlain has changed. My favorite is Heritage, but I could put this in second place, unless I end up liking Boisee more, although I haven’t tried it yet. It’s more versatile and can be used for any occasion, something that doesn’t happen with Ideal, L’Instant, or Habit Rouge. Preferably for daytime use, and I see it for any age. It lasted between 5 and 6 hours on my skin. I see it as perfect for the office since it’s not intrusive.
Guerlain Homme is a refreshing citrus cocktail thanks to the combination of lime, mint, and mojito as main notes, along with bergamot and rum in the heart, achieving a freshness and joviality that few fragrances match. I own the L’Eau de Boisée version, the first one I bought and the one that led me to seek its signature scent. For me, Guerlain Homme is for personal enjoyment, as its sillage isn’t among the most extensive and its longevity leaves something to be desired, but it is definitely a great fragrance. If not for those two details, it would be a masterpiece. I enjoy it for about 4 hours; afterward, it becomes very intimate and subtle, almost imperceptible. Ideal for spring and summer, casual and daytime use. You can take it everywhere; it’s not offensive or scandalous. Between this and L’Eau de Boisée, I’d choose the latter, but as a fellow enthusiast said, with just a reapplication, you continue to enjoy this unique aroma. Too bad you can’t always bring your favorite fragrance everywhere.
Instant seduction. So instant that I bought it immediately. It gives me the sensation of Chanel’s Allure Homme Edition Blanche; they are very similar, except this one has a firmer base, making it more long-lasting. The citrus feels very natural, a honeyed citrus aroma. Some people say it smells like a ‘little girl,’ haha.
Sparkling and cheerful opening with lime, refreshing mint, and soft bergamot. The heart deepens that impression with the mojito note (white rum, sugar, peppermint), and I didn’t detect much dry rum, plus there’s a soft floral touch. Finally, faint cedar and vetiver. It’s a soft, fresh aromatic wood, ideal for summer or spring, for daytime use. It captures that mojito drink freshness. The vetiver feels younger than in other Guerlain offerings. It gives a clean, just-out-of-the-shower vibe; it’s not intrusive and works well for office settings or professionals who can’t wear heavy scents. Sillage ranges from moderate to weak, but longevity is good, around twelve hours, though the last few hours are skin-scent only. It works best with a close partner who can get near enough to appreciate the residual aroma.
The opening is sparkling and cheerful with refreshing lime and mint, plus a soft bergamot. The heart deepens that impression with the mojito note (white rum, sugar, peppermint), and I didn’t smell much rum when it dried down, nor did I detect the floral. In the base, soft cedar and vetiver. It’s a soft woody-aromatic, fresh, ideal for summer or spring and daytime use. It achieves the freshness of a sip of mojito. The vetiver feels younger than in other Guerlain offerings. It gives a sense of cleanliness, like just stepping out of the shower. It’s not very intrusive and works for working in enclosed spaces or for professionals who can’t wear potent fragrances. The trail is medium to weak, but the longevity is good, around twelve hours, though the last few hours are skin scent. It works better with a familiar partner who gets close enough to appreciate the residual aroma.
A perfectly crafted mojito. It smells exactly like what it is: lime, mint, and mojito. Obviously, it’s for young people and casual night wear. It’s well-balanced, neither too strong nor too sweet. For me, it’s not very masculine, but that’s normal for that category. Lasted between 4 and 6 hours on my skin. I like the opening notes, but not the base. 7/10. Honestly, I think Guerlain could have done a better job with this.
Excellent fragrance, very fresh with a natural sweetness. The mint and lime blend is classic, like an instant mojito, followed by a sweet and woody base. It’s a work of art; with body heat, it kicks in when you think it’s done. Lasted 8 hours on my skin. The sillage isn’t the best, staying moderate to low throughout the day. I recommend it wholeheartedly; it’s unique and one-of-a-kind.
Smells good, explosive and citrusy opening, but the only thing that doesn’t work for me are the dry-down notes; they smell like lemon fly swatters. After a few minutes, it softens with faint woods and a hint of mint, like an infusion. Try before you buy. Moderate to low sillage and longevity. My rating: 6.
Guerlain has earned its spot in my collection. Out of the entire men’s line, this is one of my favorites: good longevity and moderate sillage, which is exactly what I need. It’s like a high-class butler: it appears when asked for, without making noise or being intrusive. The ingredients are high quality and blend beautifully. I wear it in summer, spring, and autumn. A fellow enthusiast noted that Guerlain doesn’t aim for massive projection (and he’s right, it’s all about class), but it’s there when you need it. Is it sophisticated? For me, yes. Great perfume. Versatility: 8, Sillage: 6, Longevity: 8.
Guerlain has earned its spot in my collection. Among the house’s men’s fragrances, this is one of my favorites: it has great longevity and a medium sillage (which is perfect for me). It’s like a high-class butler: always there when needed, without being noisy or intrusive. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality, refined, and in perfect harmony. I wear it in summer, spring, and fall. Someone on the forum said Guerlain didn’t intend to make high-sillage scents (which is rude), and I agree, but it’s there when you need it. Is it sophisticated? Personally, I think so. It’s a great fragrance. Versatility: 8, Sillage: 6, Longevity: 8.
The word ‘Homme’ in Guerlain implies a major commitment, as it defines the brand’s image and philosophy toward the male gender. In my experience with my second bottle, it’s a scent that puts a good mood on those around it: it’s not rigid or loud. Its mint and citrus are perceived as a Mojito served in a wooden glass, with a clean, slightly floral, relaxed, and positive aroma. It’s fresh, almost luminous, with a bitterness achieved thanks to the musk and geranium. Projection is medium-low depending on each person’s pH. It’s almost for all seasons, though I haven’t tried it in winter yet and it seems too fresh for that time. Guerlain Homme is a great fragrance, a tremendous proposal well described by others. Highly recommended and, if you collect scents, almost mandatory.
The word ‘Homme’ in any brand implies a huge commitment: to convey image and presence, project the brand’s philosophy and its vision of masculinity. If you combine Guerlain and Homme, this is what you get. In my personal experience, with my second bottle, it’s a scent that puts people around me in a good mood. It’s not intrusive or loud. Its beautiful blend of mint and citrus feels like a mojito served in a wooden glass: a clean, slightly floral, relaxed, and positive aroma. Fresh and almost luminous, with a well-executed slight bitterness from the musk and geranium. Projection is medium to low depending on each person’s pH. It’s almost for 4 seasons, unless you have a different opinion; I haven’t tried it in winter yet and it feels too fresh. Guerlain Homme is a great fragrance, a tremendous proposal already well described by others. Highly recommended and, if you collect, almost a must-have.
I’m lucky to have a bottle of this scent, with that aluminum strip on the label indicating it’s an old version. It went unnoticed for a long time until it captivated me. At first, I thought it was simple, but then it develops green, slightly peppery, mentholated, and citrusy nuances on the skin. It’s soft and delicate, yet very long-lasting. In the dry down, it smells clean. It’s easy to wear and makes you feel good. Note: with over-application, the result is interesting.
The intensity and longevity are moderate in a fragrance that hasn’t won me over. I associate the Mojito heavily with peppermint, and there’s little trace of it here. The rum, as usually happens, doesn’t feel very realistic. Everything rests on a base of musks and woods, with those chemical aromas that create custom profiles. It’s not a disaster, but simply doesn’t work for me.
The opening is confusing: in the first few seconds, you think you’ll love it, but then it smells strange, almost like food. Half an hour in, it stabilizes and turns out to be citrusy but odd. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s hard to define; it seems like a cheap cologne trying to look expensive or an essence experiment. Later, it’s very pleasant, but that deranged opening might make you discard it immediately.
It has a very confusing opening. In the first five seconds, you think you’ll love it, and then instantly you’re not sure what you’re smelling because it becomes something strange, almost food-like. After half an hour, it stabilizes and looks much better. It’s citrusy but mostly odd. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s hard to define: it seems like a mix between cheap cologne trying to look expensive and an essence experiment. Then it becomes very pleasant, but that chaotic opening can make you discard it immediately.
Guerlain Homme opens with the Mojito accord: sweet lime, mint, and rum. It’s pleasant and sparks interest. Then the rum takes over, joined by cedar and vetiver, adding complexity. Imagine a beach bar where alcohol drips over cedar and vetiver under the sun; the aroma is intense in waves. The dry down is sharp at first but becomes subtle. The trail is low after the first hour, though longevity varies between 3 and 6 hours. It doesn’t work well in intense heat; better suited for spring. The woody notes and rum also make it suitable for cold weather. Elegant and distinctive. Rating: 3.5/5.
For those seeking something fresh with a woody evolution. When it launched, the advertising and the hype around the Mojito attracted many curious buyers. It sold well, but it wasn’t groundbreaking then or now. It’s citrusy with cedar and vetiver, giving it a generic classicism. Ideal for daytime and heat, perfect for the office. It’s wearable and will please many, but it lacks sensuality and warmth; it’s not for seduction nor does it feel avant-garde. Thierry Wasser is a good perfumer and adds a classic nuance, but calling it youthful and groundbreaking is another story. I bought it years ago for the heat, but this generic woody citrus doesn’t fit my style. It will please vetiver lovers. Ultimately, it’s the scent that stays on my skin: classic, daytime, and formal.
I bought it in 2014 and smelled it again today; it has changed drastically. It no longer lasts or projects like before, and it doesn’t even smell the same. The old version always earned compliments; it had that touch of L’Instant de Guerlain when dry: one part hazelnut and chocolate, the other citrus, but with the same essence.
An underrated fragrance I stumbled upon at an exclusive US store. The opening is potent, alcoholic, and straight to the point: it’s like rubbing the essence of a Mojito on your face. Then it evolves into sweet citrus, green vetiver, and earthy notes, with a rum base that ties it all together. It’s a linear blend with an exquisite trail but lacks volume and longevity (about 2-3 hours). It doesn’t smell like perfume, but like an experience: a beach bar, sunshine, breeze, and positivity. A friend asked me to buy it for him at a barbecue, but I refused because it’s original and hard to find. Do you need a vacation or an alcoholic aroma? If you’re looking for something fresh, herbal, and classic, and you can find it cheap, grab it without hesitation.
In short, it’s a pure citrus fragrance with a very realistic lime note and a sweet touch over a background reminiscent of a barbershop. Very pleasant and masculine; I see it as perfect for hot weather. Longevity is moderate, let’s say light, but the scent is a ten.
Guerlain Homme is an olfactory luxury: citrus, mint, rum, and wood blend into a sublime experience. The downside is that it doesn’t last long and has weak projection; it’s ideal for a quick shower, a personal application, and enjoying it alone for a bit. I love the brand, but this fragrance disappointed me in terms of longevity. I’ll keep it to let it oxidize until the end of the year. Cheers.
