Insolence is pure insolence: here I am, and I’m staying. It’s an ode to nostalgia, melancholy, and the beauty of iris and violet. Since I’ve never eaten violet candies, I can’t comment on those, but the soft iris and powdery violet are incredibly noticeable and last hours on the skin. I don’t detect the berries, but I do smell that white jasmine flower that cleanses it. I’m not sure if it leaves a trail, but beyond my arm, you can smell it, and it holds up well on clothes. Very feminine, perfect for everyday wear—sweet but not cloying (and I haven’t found a gourmand I truly love). Don’t buy it blindly or gift it without trying; it’s not for older ladies. If I like it, I’ll wear it and that’s that. Every skin is different; everyone has their own taste.

I didn’t perceive anything sweet on my skin, just a violet scent like those department store colognes and soaps. I didn’t smell violet candy, even though I tested it with a small tin of candies to compare.

I didn’t feel anything sweet on my skin, just a violet scent like those drugstore colognes and soaps. I didn’t pick up any violet caramel note, even though I tested it right when I had a little jar of those candies to compare.

I bought it based on the reviews, and it’s like wearing a handful of legendary violet candies!❤️ The first time I smelled it, it was very powdery, but as soon as I detected the violet candy note, the powder disappeared and never returned in any subsequent sprays.

Totally powdery!!!! A masterpiece!!!! Let me point out a difference: the EDP is sweeter with that violet candy touch, while the EDT is completely powdery. A dry powder with a soft, slightly sweet edge. A delight for those who love powdery scents. Watch out!!! I’m talking about the jar with the bees (the one in the photo). They’ve changed the packaging, and they’ve added more notes to the olfactory pyramid.

My mom asked me: Ary, did you put on a new perfume? I said no, why? And she said: ah, it’s because since today I’m smelling a strong odor like the lavender deodorant downstairs, but it smells like a strong perfume and like your grandmother’s. I’m not going to buy that deodorant anymore. Then my dad came in and asked: that strong smell? Did they discontinue that deodorant again? I just laughed in sadness… I don’t know if mine is fake, expired, or if my nose is broken, because everyone says it’s sweet or like little violet candies. The truth is, it smells like a sophisticated perfume but is very strong and imposing, just like the name. In the air or on my skin, it’s like a slap of coarse powder to the face, with the violet trying to stand out and the berries trying to sweeten it from the background. I’m disappointed because I had high expectations; it’s so powdery that I can’t smell the berries or the jasmine. On my pH, forget it (rough, bitter powder); it’s like the dust gets stuck in my tongue and makes me cough, leaving a bitter aftertaste. That’s why you shouldn’t buy it blindly; every pH and nose is a different world.

My mom asked if I’d tried a new perfume, and when I said no, she told me it smells like floor lavender deodorant mixed with something strong from my grandma, so she stopped buying it; my dad also complained about the intense scent, and I just laughed at the sadness. I don’t know if it’s fake, expired, or if my nose is broken, because everyone says it smells like violet candies, but to me it’s a powder slap with violet trying to break through and vanilla way in the back. It hurts because I had high expectations, but it’s so powdery I can’t smell the vanilla or the tuberose, and on my skin it’s rough and bitter until I feel dust on my tongue and start coughing; I swear there’s bitterness, so don’t buy it blindly because every nose and pH is a different world.

It finally won me over; my perfume tastes have diversified, and fragrances I didn’t like before are now catching my attention. This eau de toilette is a case in point: when dry, that rich, slightly powdery aroma lasts for days. On my skin, it smells even better—it’s so rich, smelling of violets, tart red fruits, and iris. It’s on my list of future purchases.

The ‘talcum-powder’ note kept me away for years until a decant opened my eyes: it evokes my childhood, parties with big dresses and ribbons. Maybe because of the resemblance to violet candies in piñatas. It doesn’t smell like talcum powder, but rather fresh red berries and violets. It’s cheerful, sweet without being cloying, and extremely feminine. I’d wear it all year for informal occasions. Heavy trail and long-lasting.

The adjective ‘powdery’ kept me away from this fragrance for years, until a friend gifted me a decant. The moment I smelled it, something woke up inside me, something that made me think of my childhood, of children’s parties with voluminous dresses and huge bows. I don’t know why, maybe because of the resemblance to violet candies in piñatas. I felt I needed to own it, and I bought it that same day. To my fortune, it doesn’t smell particularly powdery; instead, it smells of fresh red fruits and violets. It’s a cheerful, sweet but not cloying, extremely feminine aroma. I would wear it all year round for non-formal occasions. Heavy trail and long-lasting.

Luminous and sweet violets with berries, soft and balanced iris. I bought it blind and have no regrets: Insolence EDT is addictive, intoxicating, and puts me in a good mood, like a fairy tale. Use it moderately indoors due to the trail. Top quality, no dupes.

I smell luminous and sweet violets with a touch of berries, mixed with a soft, balanced iris. I bought it blindly and have no regrets, because Insolence EDT is addictive, intoxicating, and makes me happy. It’s like a perfume taken straight out of a fairy tale; I imagine Little Red Riding Hood smelling like this. I consider it should be used with moderation in enclosed spaces because it has a very strong trail. It smells high quality, and nothing resembles it.

It’s the closest thing to getting slapped with a bouquet of violets; that’s how Insolence has made me feel, plus I feel stuffed, as if I’d eaten two kilos of violet candies. I wouldn’t wear it even if I were crazy, but I admit it has impressive trail and longevity (to my misfortune and the joy of those who enjoy this fragrance).

It’s like having a mountain of hostia candies scratched onto you with a bouquet of violets; I feel stuffed, as if I’d eaten two kilos of violet candies. I wouldn’t wear it even if I were crazy, but it has an impressive trail and longevity (my misfortune and its joy).

Faint violets and iris blending into a powdery sweetness unlike anything I knew. The vintage bottle has history, but with Guerlain, I expected better longevity; it lasts about 3 hours on my skin, though it leaves a trail. It’s intriguing—I’d try it again, better suited for fall-winter than in the heat.

Lux
A baroque and rococo explosion of violets, the scent of coquetry, lipstick, and hair powder in a classic vanity. The trail is brutal and never loses strength. It’s the ritual of fixing up and admiring oneself. Guerlain uses meteorite molecules here; the violets are their classic, timeless signature.

A powdery-sweet bomb that smells great but demands care: it’s not soft and doesn’t last long, it’s powerful and can be dizzying. Smells like violet candies, very pink and romantic, ultra-feminine.

Marei Yape
Innocent and sweet delicacy where violet and iris take the lead, with a juicy touch of red berries and a soft orange blossom. It has a slight soapy and talcum-powder scent from the violet and orange blossom, giving it a clean feel. I loved it; perfect for casual wear. The bottle with bees for Empress Eugenia looks gorgeous.

A work of art 💜
I preferred the olfactive pyramid of the eau de toilette in the little bee bottle; it was more powdery. Here, they’ve added more notes, the violet feels more artificial (not as integrated), and as the hours pass, the vanilla overpowers everything. Why do they change the scent when they change the bottle? What’s with the habit of messing with what was working so well?
I love it so much! It’s so girly, delicate, and pretty that it makes me sigh. It smells of super sweet violets and iris, with a base very similar to Versace’s Red Jeans, but with much higher quality and extra notes like red berries. The dry-down follows a similar olfactive path, not identical, but close. It lasts forever and has an impressive trail. Be careful with sprays: it can be very strong. It’s divine, smells clean, sweet, elegant, sophisticated, and current.
I absolutely love it! It’s super girly, delicate, and beautiful—it makes me sigh 🥰 Smells like super sweet violets and iris, with a base similar to Versace Red Jeans but with much higher quality and extra notes like berries. The dry-down is similar, not identical, but definitely reminiscent. It lasts forever and has insane sillage. Be careful with sprays, it can be very strong! It’s divine, clean, sweet, elegant, sophisticated, and modern ❤️❤️❤️
I bought it blindly to gift it to my mother. Big mistake. It’s not that the perfume is ugly, but it’s very youthful, more like something for a teenager. It smells like red berry juice with flowers. I’m not regretting the purchase, but I would have preferred to give her something else.
Personally, I didn’t like it, but it is exactly what it claims to be. For those who enjoy violet and powdery iris, you will absolutely love it without a doubt.
What a beautiful scent; it’s a shame I didn’t know the original versions. Sweet violets with a bouquet of sweetened fruits. Every time I wear it, I feel beautiful and sophisticated. I’ve used it on summer evenings and nights, and it’s spectacular, especially when the fragrance wraps around you and makes you feel very feminine. The longevity surprises me: I’ve even smelled it on my skin the next day. I love it!
I’ve read it’s the perfume of a fairy and I agree, provided we’re talking about that childish, familiar image, because ancient fairies were wild and cruel: they could take a traveler to a party, and by morning fifty or a hundred years would have passed, or even kill them and dip a cap in their blood, or make them walk in circles until they starved. Some were household guardians, but rare, due to a bad deal or circumstance, not out of pleasure. The main note is violet with red fruits, which sets it apart from other Insolences. The iris adds more talcum powder, while the sandalwood provides body and creaminess. Although violet is the signature here, it’s so intertwined with the red fruits that they’re both protagonists. That gives it a youthful, approachable touch, ideal for anyone wanting a violet-centered fragrance without vintage nuances. The red fruits highlight the warm, sweet, and cloying aspects of the flower, so it’s not for those who dislike violet, which is most people. It has good sillage and longevity. I see it well for summer nights to convey cheerful femininity. The pink liquid color represents the fragrance and the image it projects. I don’t recommend it for hot days because the violet expands, becomes sweeter, and can cause headaches. I like it for fall; it shines on rainy, cold days where the sandalwood takes the lead and gives a sense of thick wool or a fur blanket. I find it too floral and fruity for winter, and too heavy and fruit-focused for spring. Maybe use it on late spring evenings or nights when the heat rises and we crave a fruity touch. I don’t recommend it as a gift unless you know the recipient loves violets or is looking for a violet-based perfume.
What a beautiful scent, what a pity I didn’t know the original versions. Sweet violets with a bouquet of sweetened fruits. Every time I wear it, I feel beautiful and sophisticated. I’ve worn it on summer evenings and nights, and it feels spectacular, especially when its scent surrounds you and makes you feel very feminine. Its longevity surprises me; I’ve even smelled it on my skin the next day. I love it 🥰
Very feminine, delicate, powdery, sweet, and elegant! A few sprays last all day without losing potency. It feels like a magical scent, like a spell or a dream; it’s unique, and whoever wears it will stand out. I agree it gives off fairy or beautiful mythical creature vibes. Personally, I prefer the EDT over the EDP because it feels less heavy, though they’re similar. The best time to wear it is fall and winter.
It’s very feminine, delicate, powdery, sweet, and elegant. A few drops last all day without losing potency. It feels like a magical scent, like a spell or a dream—a unique fragrance. I think whoever wears it will stand out. I agree it gives off vibes of a fairy perfume or some beautiful mythical being. Personally, I prefer the EDT over the EDP because I find it less heavy, though they are very similar. I think the best time to wear it is during fall and winter.
I like it! But don’t buy it blindly. It’s very different from what’s trendy right now. If you wear it, be sure no one else will smell the same. It’s elegant, unique, with a dark, dry touch—nothing sweet or powdery; the violet dominates. In my opinion, it’s not for teenagers, but rather for women 30 and up. You don’t need many sprays: it has high concentration and lasts long. It’s not light; it seems too heavy for hot climates, but it’s ideal for fall and winter, day or night.
I like it, but don’t buy it blindly. It’s very different from trendy perfumes. If you wear it, no one else will smell the same. It’s elegant, unique, with a dark, dry touch—nothing sweet or powdery, and the violet dominates a lot. In my opinion, it’s not for teenagers or very young women, but rather for women 30 and up. You don’t need many drops because it has high concentration and lasts long. Plus, it’s not a light perfume. It seems too much for hot climates, but it’s ideal for fall and winter, both day and night.
It’s a feminine perfume that a man could wear without any issues, thanks to that dry, talcum-powdered vibe from the violet and iris. I’m just starting to use it and really enjoy it, even though it’s categorized as feminine.
My reference is ‘La Pastillita Yapa’, an Argentine candy I absolutely adore, even though I’m sad about the reformulation. The original bottle was gorgeous, but after the change, longevity and sillage took a hit. My first bottle belonged to my mom; she didn’t like it, but what luck for me, because I loved it. It’s very special, nothing common. It smells like kids’ hard candies, but it’s not a youthful fragrance: it’s sweet with a hint of tartness. My advice: wear it in fall or winter so you don’t overwhelm those around you. Since it’s so unique, it’s not for everyone—not even the wearer or the person smelling it.
