L’Homme Ideal Parfum is almond, woody, and leathery. The opening is slightly sweet and fruity, like candied cherry. Within minutes, the signature almond DNA of the line emerges, boosted by an amaretto-like facet. In the mid and dry down, leathery notes and patchouli add elegance without hiding the heart of almonds. Perfect for cool days, spring, autumn, and winter, in formal settings or the office. It improves on the EDT: more long-lasting with a stronger trail. It lasted over 9 hours. I found it elegant and charming, just as I expected from a Parfum, with the same versatility as the original but less sweet than the EDP, Intense, and Extreme. I recommend it if you already like the line—try it before buying. So far, my favorite of 2024.
L’Homme Ideal Parfum is almond, woody, and leathery. The opening is slightly sweet and fruity, like syruped cherry. Minutes in, the line’s signature almond DNA emerges, boosted by an amaretto facet. In the dry down, leathery and patchouli notes add elegance without masking the almond heart. Perfect for fresh days, spring, autumn, and winter, whether for formal events or the office. It outperforms the EDT: longer-lasting with a more noticeable trail. Lasted over 9 hours. I found it elegant and enchanting, just as I expected from a Parfum, with the same versatility as the original but less sweet than the EDP, Intense, and Extreme. I recommend it if you already like the line, but test before buying. So far, my favorite of 2024.
As a first impression, the opening smelled like a fairly realistic amaretto, but then, in the dry down, the heavy white musk note overshadowed it for my taste. It lasts well enough and isn’t a total miss, but I wouldn’t buy it.
Buy this stuff. How delicious it is. It instantly becomes my top pick in the line.
Spectacularly delicious. Undoubtedly my favorite in the line.
Perfumon. What really stands out is the leather and patchouli. The opening is very similar to Extreme. Good longevity, though it fades to skin-level after 5-6 hours; on clothes, it lasts up to 10-12. I recommend it—it feels like the most mature and elegant option in the entire line.
What a wonder! It feels perfect. 24/7, all year round. Guerlain remains an oasis in these times, and this new Parfum trilogy proves it.
What a marvel! It seems perfect for me, 24/7 all year round. Guerlain remains an oasis in these times, and this new Parfum trilogy proves it.
L’Homme Idéal Parfum is like a private club version of the Extreme; they removed the tobacco accord and added a leather note, like a wallet or car seat leather. The ingredients are the same as the two perfumes mentioned. Upon opening, the scent doesn’t last 5 minutes, but after 15 days it improves, and by 30 days it reaches its 8-10 hour performance. Delicious.
This is bottled elegance. One of the most realistic perfumes you’ll know regarding its notes. It opens with an incredibly realistic Amaretto note, then turns sweet and warm. It’s not for everyone or every occasion; that’s its downside. Longevity improves with air exposure and lasts well over 7 hours with moderate projection. Recommended for a broad collection. Batch 01/2024.
Delicious. It became my favorite in the line. Instant love at first sniff. At first, I sensed a blend of the EDP and Extreme, but as it dries down, it takes its own path: it keeps that cherry and almond vibe but gains body from the leather and Amaretto liqueur, transforming it into a honeyed cherry liqueur that is truly delicious. Finally, patchouli emerges, adding a chocolatey, creamy, and slightly woody-sweet nuance, making it a spectacular aroma. Very addictive, sensual, elegant, and versatile. For me, it’s far and away the best launch of the year. The only downside is the high price, but it’s worth the investment.
The scent is delightful, but the performance is concerning. I just bought it and will let it settle for a few days. I’ll update in a month, for better or worse.
Sorry, I don’t doubt it’s a bomb for those who love that scent, but it’s not for me. The longevity and sillage are exaggerated; even after washing my hands and the application areas thoroughly, the scent lingers. It’s an absolute beast.
The best thing I’ve ever tried. A sublime mix of Amaretto liqueur, cherry, leather, chocolate, caramel, and patchouli with a balsamic touch. It’s sexy, addictive, and draws endless compliments. It’s now my number one, and it’s hard to imagine anything surpassing it. It’s irresistible!
This is the real deal: an Amaretto liqueur scent with almond notes, subtle yet elegant sweetness. It’s the one that gets me the most compliments. It’s a twist on L’Homme Idéal EDT, but much deeper and denser.
A 10/10 for winter and night dates. Its performance is good only under those conditions; otherwise, it won’t project well. It gives off the vibe of dining with your partner at a luxury restaurant. Cold is key; in the cold, it lasted 6-7 hours. In other seasons, you won’t get much out of it, so be careful not to waste it. It’s not loud; it’s intimate, refined, exquisite, and attractive. Apply generously, and spray it before heading out to highlight the alcohol note, which is its most distinctive feature.
A proper fragrance beast. Very similar to the Extreme in the opening, but a few minutes later comes that aldehydic and sweet note that softens and modernizes the Extreme. In my opinion, it’s a modernized and more wearable version without that strong middle phase. In the dry-down, if you don’t have a trained nose, they smell the same (9-10 hours on skin). Between the two, I’d stick with this Parfum—it’s more wearable and spectacular thanks to that sweet note that gets compliments from the ladies.
Tested dry and on skin. It’s the Extreme version but more loaded and heavier. You can tell the floral part of the Extreme with the amaretto liqueur makes it denser. Both are great and similar; the Extreme is more versatile, while this one is only for cold climates.
A masterpiece of perfumery. Guerlain has become my favorite designer brand. Pure elegance. Scent: almond liqueur and leather, natural and very realistic.
After two hours of wearing it, I can’t even smell it even if I press my nose right against my skin. Something that doesn’t happen with Habit Rouge Parfum. Try it on your skin. Don’t waste your money on a dud.
Love at first sniff; it’s incredible what it conveys. Definitely stands out from the current market; you won’t smell like anyone else. Its evolution is key: you don’t need many sprays to make an impression. Important note: it’s not for the young; it’s for men 30+, and don’t wear it with sweatpants—this is pure elegance. It’s not for everyone; it’s not like Y EDP or Le Beau that anyone can wear. My rating: 10/10. If you’re looking for something different but high-quality, give it a try; it’s not a blind buy!

For me, the true winner of the 2024 Fragrantica Awards for Best Launch of the Year. Althair and Le Male Elixir are from 2023 and were already voted on last year, so the legitimate winner is Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Parfum. What a beast of a fragrance!
Rich, balsamic amaretto—deliciously unique. I tested it generously on my skin without knowing the notes and couldn’t identify what it smelled like. I just enjoyed that deliciously unknown and different fragrance. It’s divine; I love it.
Rich, balsamic amaretto, very peculiar… I tested it generously on my skin at the perfumerie without knowing the notes and couldn’t identify what it smelled like. I just enjoyed that deliciously unknown and different fragrance. It’s divine; I love it.
By far the best in the L’Homme Ideal saga, alongside Cool. Use this for winter/fall and Cool for spring/summer. With these two, the rest are unnecessary. The Parfum lasts longer, projects more, is more elegant, and smells better than the EDT original, Intense, Extreme, or EDP. In the others, the almond note fades in an hour, leaving rough notes like vanilla or ambroxan that make it sweet and common; here, the almond lingers forever, combined with leather, making it much more elegant. The only downside is the price.
Honestly, I think this is one of the best in the entire collection, even though it’s no longer in production. It’s the Cologne.
Homme Ideal Parfum isn’t trying to be a beast-level performer, and Delphine Jelk didn’t attempt a miracle. It starts strong with an almond liqueur that deceives you, followed by elegant leather. It leaves a noticeable personal bubble for trained noses, though it doesn’t project like Habit Rouge Parfum. Perfect for day, office, or casual afternoons. After aging it since December, the miracle finally happened: now it smells like a small hand-picked pomegranate, with triple the longevity and cold-weather projection.
This is an exquisite fragrance; this will appeal to everyone. The issue is longevity and projection; I know this line never stood out for that, but given the price and Parfum concentration, I expected more. In my case, it lasts about 4 hours perceptibly without projecting. If this lasted 8 or 9 hours, it would undoubtedly be a masterpiece of perfumery.
Wow, what a beauty. I had the Extreme when it launched and loved it, but this one is incredible; it easily lasts 8 to 9 hours for me. My work and social circles loved it. 9/10.
What a fragrance by GOD. It brings back good memories of Madrid. I used it in the cold and at night, walking with my girlfriend or having drinks with friends (I skip daytime liqueurs, though they say it’s versatile). Separate point: it’s SO enchanting… the best part is that it’s contained but perceptible; it doesn’t project or shout. You only discover it. Somewhere along the way, a compliment like ‘hey, you smell good,’ and the rest is magic with the cold air. The antonym of loud fragrances. The message is warmth, refinement, and distinction. Advice: wear it well, generous sprays, use a decant to highlight the amaretto when you step out, and use it only at night in autumn/winter. Wish they wouldn’t reformulate it.
Indeed, it’s a DELICIOUS treat. It lasts less than Habit Rouge Parfum, which I find sublime, but this one is more ‘educated,’ less potent, and perhaps more elegant. Even though it lasts less, it has the typical combination only Guerlain knows how to create with its ’round’ and elegant patchouli, the perfect finish. Extraordinary for work gatherings where you need to add a touch of elegance without invading (as Habit Rouge would). Simply delicious.
I respect the positive comments; I’m not taking away their value. For me, it’s unwearable and not original. I don’t detect the almond or the leather. A profound disappointment. It seems like a good deodorant.
A tribute to the refined man. A scent not for everyone; it approaches liquors from a stately angle that some won’t like, but those with mature tastes will adore it. L’Homme Ideal was born to represent the ultimate man: seductive, socially skilled, and classy. Almond liqueur wrapped in leather and woods, bearing that Guerlain seal that gives it age and maturity. A standout fragrance for a mature man. Autumn-winter fits well, versatile to a point. Totally worth it. Moderate longevity and projection, sophisticated to the max at a fair price.
Of the entire line, the pre-feather-label Extreme lasts longer. This Parfum smells good but doesn’t stick as well as others in the series. Medium-low longevity (4-5 hours with 20 sprays), and that almond liqueur (amaretto) sounds artificial and half-baked; it doesn’t convince me. Habit Rouge Parfum plays with the rum and refines it better; you can tell the quality. I bought it and sold it.
I made a mistake buying this because the seller confused it with Habit Rouge Parfum. It feels high quality; I don’t understand the complaints about projection—the first two hours project well, though not as much as the red one. The only downside is that musk which gives me a headache, unlike Habit Rouge, which I wear without issues. It’s not the red one; I recommend going for the red.
This is the richest scent in my collection, yet I don’t wear it much. I’d love to use it more, but I always choose something else because ‘it’s better for the moment.’ I should use it up more, otherwise I’ll just end up testing it out 🙂
Top notes of almond, sometimes reminiscent of a freshly sharpened pencil. The projection is intimate, perfect for dates or just being comfortable with yourself. Good longevity without reaching the excess of Habit Rouge. Pure Guerlain quality.
