Habit Rouge Parfum by Guerlain

This perfume is MARVELOUS. It smells like a mix of vanilla and almonds, projects well, and lasts a long time on clothes (from one day to the next). It’s warm and cozy. On the flip side, sometimes it smells a bit unisex and like an older lady’s perfume, but that’s due to that powdery and pompous tone. For me, it’s a 10. Just so you know, it’s not for hot weather; it’s the opposite of fresh.

Hey, I bought it in a box for 92€ online in November 2025. Here, the line becomes creamier, but it keeps the Habit Rouge base with those incredible citrus notes (it has way more than listed, surely 100×100). What I notice is sweet vanilla, like an oak barrel (like when you age rum or whisky), that kind of vanilla. Since I love the whisky world, this scent fascinates me. It’s like when someone orders dessert and says ‘I like it because it wasn’t sweet, it was well-made’. I own the whole Habit Rouge line, and it’s amazing to notice its evolution: from more ‘explosive’ to more intense and creamy, without losing its identity. Literally today it holds my perfume record: every time I wear it, I get positive comments. Being a parfum, on me (dry skin) it lasts over 8 hours; on clothes, it lasts days; on others with skin, it’s lasted over 10. It’s more masculine than feminine (the Spirit is more unisex). For cold autumns, winters, dinners, special occasions, cocktails. I would definitely recommend it and would buy it again if I ran out. Cheers.

I don’t know how much it costs in standard perfumeries, but at the freeshop it was 160 dollars and I thought it was a bit pricey. But since it was Kamikaze, I bought it blind and… best decision ever! It’s incredible, totally avainillated but with a green and alcoholic base, a bit earthy but rich and sharp. It improves over time, becoming sweet and soft. It’s not a common or easy scent, nor versatile; I think it’s for elegant, formal events, well-dressed, and due to the sweetness, for autumn, winter, and early spring. I recommend it 100%, but not blind.

A masterpiece, probably one of the best designer perfumes right now. It’s an almost syrupy alcohol perfume with huge quality vanilla. The most polarizing aspect is the patchouli, which gives it an animalic touch. But this ‘challenging’ part lasts a few hours, then it settles into an ostentatious vanilla that doesn’t cloy. 10/10 perfume for nights and elegant occasions in winter.

It’s not my favorite profile since I’m not a big patchouli lover and that’s what rules here. Given its name Rouge, I expected something red that doesn’t exist… Patchouli notes stand out, along with the bergamot citrus and a hint of vanilla in the background… the rum is nonexistent. Total quality yes, but it’s not a scent for me. Excellent longevity and perfect for patchouli lovers. Scent 5/10, Performance 8/10, Longevity 9/10, General 7/10.

This deserves a spot in a museum. Like in art, sometimes in perfumery you find things that break the mold and shift your perspective. If you’re not a vanilla fan, this perfume will make you want it. If powdery or talcum notes usually turn you off, maybe this will change your mind. Beyond the notes, Habit Rouge Parfum is pure class and sophistication. It conveys intimate well-being, like being alone in winter drinking coffee in a foreign city while watching people pass by. It exudes classic elegance, savoir-faire, confidence, and maturity. It’s walking with your head held high. It smells like the Belle Époque, like men of old in suits and trench coats, like spy movies, diplomatic novels, a study filled with books, and an upscale neighborhood workshop, yet it’s fully modern. Performance is outstanding. Masculine on men and feminine on women. Worn well, it can be used daily. It’s packaging and presence, like wearing a great long coat. A piece of art. The definition of perfume. No more.

Habit Rouge Parfum. Wonderful. I’m a collector and lover of scents. The first time I smelled it, my head exploded; I went home without even testing it properly. I don’t regret it at all. Guerlain is at the pinnacle of perfumery with this creation, a benchmark to follow. It’s a fragrance called Parfum that walks with its head held high; if there are any tricks, it delivers on its promises and then some. Elegant beyond measure, addictive, a drug for the brain that uses the nose as an instrument to reach nirvana. It will never be missing from my collection.

Short and sweet: I’m not looking for compliments, but this is the perfume people say smells the best from my entire collection. My wife stole it from my shelf among my 300 fragrances and won’t let me buy her refills 😅. Sweet, amber scent with alcoholic and woody touches, elegant and unisex; on female skin, it’s crazy. Longevity and projection are notable, over 10 hours on skin and a trail of 5+ hours. Flawless value for money in designer. Buy blind, 10/10.

Hi! The Habit Rouge Parfum has qualities I didn’t enjoy 100%: it’s warm, long-lasting, and has character, of great quality, but it doesn’t compare to the EDT or the classic EDP. It’s nothing alike; it’s something else from the same family but different. I still prefer the classic EDT for being more changeable and surprising, though I admit the Parfum is addictive.

I tried it one afternoon, and since I’m not a fan of vanilla, this is a quality delight that leaves more than a flat taste when it dries. It’s a simple and sweet fragrance, with a masculine touch that, however, suits a woman perfectly. Influencers and reviewers don’t get hurt by serving as a guide, but the last word belongs to your skin: go try it.

It plays in a different league than Dior Homme Parfum regarding versatility and style. It’s complex and has personality. I love it; it’s in another league compared to other designers. Is it a safe buy? Absolutely not; try it multiple times. It has many nuances and can even scare you at first. It’s a fantastic, unique creation, one of those where you smell it and think ‘THIS is a perfume.’ It invites special occasions due to its special composition. The uniqueness polarizes; perfumes with such a strong imprint aren’t made to please everyone. Anyway, whether it’s hype or hate, don’t let yourself be influenced too much… go try it. Perfumes are a matter of taste.

Update: Thanks for the comments. I bought it for $130 at the NY duty-free, batch 4B01 from Feb 2024, and it’s genuine. Sorry if I’m out of line, but I own Guerlain Vetiver and it’s a masterpiece; this Habit Rouge is a letdown. It’s not ranting, it’s my opinion and it deserves respect. It smells like baby powder and medicinal ointment, nothing like the notes. It doesn’t last or project for 30 minutes and takes last place in my collection. I’ll probably gift it.

This is my first fragrance review. To start, it has a marked citrus opening, not overwhelming. I’ve never smelled bergamot, but I’m sure it’s good; the comparison that comes to mind is Shalimar’s opening, which is more medicinal, but in this case, it’s sweeter. The bergamot fades gradually to develop a gourmand scent. In my head, it’s like eating a key lime in a warm environment, pleasant. The patchouli has nothing to do with marijuana; it gives body and formal character to the vanilla. The vanilla is very dominant; I think I’ve never felt such a beautiful vanilla that you don’t want to stop smelling it. The image of the perfumer fits, the idea of bourbon works. It reminds me of a bakery. It’s an aroma that takes us back to grandmothers due to the Shalimar connection… I wouldn’t recommend daily use due to the density; it gives me a cold nighttime sensation. And I won’t say anything about ages; it depends on your presence; you won’t go unnoticed.

I can’t stop smelling myself with it; I enjoy it more than any other. A 10. Edit: After trying/buying dozens of niche and commercial fragrances, which I like in almost 98% of cases, this Guerlain remains the crown jewel. When I put it on, it changes my character from the good vibes I usually have. For Autumn/Winter, this is a total MUST.
