If you want to stand out and leave a masculine, virile trail, this is yours. Original and women love it. Safe, sweet, spicy, woody scent with a fruity touch and deep tobacco base. Designed to catch attention on the street, at the office, or with friends, leaving an unforgettable mark. Lasts a long time on my skin: heavy sillage for 3 hours, then moderate.
I have the 2015 version and it was spectacular at first sniff, I bought it on the spot. I love it and enjoy how long it lasts: up to 6-7 hours. I’m lucky with this old batch; the new ones don’t last more than 3-4 hours. My wife loves it but it’s not her favorite. If you want better longevity and projection, forget D&G: they smell good but don’t perform well. I wouldn’t buy it again.
Elegant, different, and expressive… a masterpiece. The opening is phenomenal and the drydown is one of the best.
Nice experiences with this one: I already have three bottles. Smells citrusy and like sweetened tobacco. Projects well at first, then fades to a short sillage of about 6 hours, ideal for dates.
Luckily I found a 2008 EDT batch: superior potency to the EDP and a sharper scent than the 2020+ versions. Grapefruit and ginger at the start, amber, tobacco, and cedar at the end, like the ingredients are right on the table. Lasts 6 hours, perfect for dates or the office, simple but beats more complex fragrances.
What a shame it doesn’t last because it smells amazing. Ideal for dinners or short gatherings; on my skin it lasts 3 hours with moderate sillage.
The One is my love-hate perfume: I adore the warm opening that makes me feel at home, perfect for autumn with a coat and fireplace, but the cardamomo and tobacco in the drydown bother me and I can’t stand it. It’s a D&G icon to feel irresistible.
So rich it hurts that it lasts so little, what a pity.
Quick review: rich opening with grapefruit, wood, cilantro, and amber, but after 20 minutes the ginger takes over and I’m not convinced.
If you buy only for longevity, you miss out on treasures like this: the scent makes up for everything.
Rich, I don’t love it, but all the women I’ve asked love it. It’s like a scent for a date, but if you’re looking to smell good for yourself, there are better options. It smells a bit like a car with slightly used leather seats, just so you can imagine it.
Honestly, it smells like a lot of wood and sweet, like an old man. I didn’t like the scent entirely and the longevity isn’t great, lasting 4 to 5 hours projecting close to the skin. I give it a 7 out of 10.
Very rich and very subtle would be their words. Delicate, but from the start I felt it was fading, as if it were saying ‘don’t move or it’s lost’. It smells good but needs more punch, as I get the sensation of dragging it. Performance dropped because it’s so light I notice it quickly; I don’t know if it lasts more with such lightness, but I’m outside all day and want some duration. I heard the EDP improves… I have the Nike Red, it smells similar, more artificial but with a happier sillage and similar longevity. The Friday Edition smells a bit fresher, without the same charm, but improves intensity and longevity.
I entered this world thanks to this perfume. My dad always used it and it remains his signature. Smelling it transports me to many eras of my life. When I wear it, I feel energetic and powerful. It has a delicious tobacco that blends perfectly with the other notes; I think everyone should try it at least once.
10 out of 10
First, I bought a decant so I wouldn’t throw 45 dollars in the trash due to the hype. I liked it and took the 100 ml bottle. Now that I use it more, it’s a scent I absolutely love. I like sweet perfumes and this is very well balanced, not cloying. It feels hugging and boosts my mood. Regarding longevity, I disagree with the comments: it projects strongly for 2-3 hours and then becomes subtle but lingers. You don’t need it to last longer.
I tried this perfume yesterday. I had already loved D&G The One EDP and was looking for it ever since. Upon smelling it, I didn’t feel that familiar scent; at first, it reminded me of a Glade air freshener. Over time, I noticed a bit of cardamomo and a subtle spicy touch of ginger. I smelled it again today and like it more; I sense a sweet tobacco from the amber. It’s not a bad perfume, it smells good, but it didn’t impact me like the EDP. I wasn’t left in awe with the need to own it.
The problem is that it smells like a lot of other things. I tried it in a store and it felt like ‘the same old thing’. It’s not bad, but the scent is very common… I expected more from it. Greetings and blessings from Panama.
While some call it the ‘ultimate gourmand’, I don’t see it that way. Being sweet doesn’t make it smell like food; there’s no chocolate or vanilla, just wood and spices. It smells great, similar to the EDP but lighter; in the EDP you notice more tobacco, whereas here it’s perhaps ginger and cardamomo. Also, the liquid and box are lighter and brown, while the EDP is black and heavy. I prefer the EDP for that more mature and dark touch.
You can tell it’s the same family as the EDP, but this version has more sparkle and feels much livelier.
Great fragrance for cold weather, sweet and delicious. The only bad thing is the longevity; in my case barely 5 hours and it’s already gone. I recommend it for dates or night outings, although it goes well on cold days, because in the heat it’s very cloying.
The best tobacco fragrance I’ve ever tried… since it came out in 2008 it hasn’t gone out of style. Recommended.
To my taste, it’s very rich and sweet, perfect for some night date. The only drawback is that it doesn’t last long for me.
I love the blend of spices and tobacco with sweet notes. I don’t notice the citrus or fresh side, but rather that sweet part that when combined smells like sweet alcohol. I have it from 2009 or 2010 and it seems to be 100% for winter nights, parties, or cold days; it gives an instant warm touch. The drawback is that it doesn’t last and the sillage isn’t powerful. If you spray a few shots, you smell strong for the first 3 or 4 hours, then it fades on the skin but stays in the clothes for days. It’s not for young people or picking up, but for married adults.
The One by D&G is the quintessential classic: citrus and woody. It comes with bergamot, ginger, basil, and a touch of cypress that stands out. The initial projection is brutal, but soon the spicy heart arrives with a slight tingling that comes and goes. Longevity and sillage are decent, although I expected more from a designer; it fulfills its objective. Ideal for cold weather. The bottle is another hit: amber liquid and a symmetric cap, that simple style that lets the color show. Recommended purchase. 9/10.
It’s not as impressive as they paint it, at least the sample I tested on skin. We’ll have to see if with many sprays it’s as spectacular as they say. For the price, I’d rather go for an Eros, but it deserves a second chance. I gave the EDP a shot, a sigh and nothing impressive, twenty sprays and still sad, I’ll sell it.
Amazing fragrance, gorgeous. Its weak point for many is the projection, but what longevity… clearly six or seven hours in the heat. If you catch it at a good price, it’s worth every penny. It’s more cheerful and relaxed than the EDP, which is denser and more sensual. To flood spaces, there are Arabic scents that are a bargain but get tiring; this allows you to use it during the day and reapply without getting dizzy. Try it and enjoy.
Beautiful scent, my current favorite from the entire fragrance line is the EDP, which I consider an improved version of this. The EDT smells the same but lighter, lacking all the charm of the other. The downside is the longevity, it doesn’t pass three hours, although it projects in constant bursts. It’s light, seductive, versatile, and youthful. I recommend it, though there are superior versions.
They gave it to me and honestly, I don’t understand the highly praised positive references. It doesn’t smell bad, true, but on my skin it has neither lasting power nor projection. I’ve given it many chances on outings and cold nights, but it doesn’t last more than two hours and doesn’t generate the compliments everyone gives it. I don’t know where that magic lies in my case.
Great fragrance for dates. Pity the performance: lasts 5 hours with 1 hour of projection. The scent is very rich, excellent for autumn. It has a citrus opening, woody heart, and a very rich amber base. Very good perfume, I’d buy it again. I recommend it despite the poor longevity 🥲.
Exquisite and soft aroma, totally masculine with spicy hints but not heavy. Ideal for gentlemen at winter dinners with the woman you love or at work meetings where you want to project seriousness. Note: it doesn’t have a huge sillage or beastly projection, after all, it’s Dolce Gabbana. My only complaint is the price is too high for the lack of potency it offers.
Excellent.
Bought it with high expectations and I’m disappointed. WARNING: it smells delicious, it’s a wonderful elegant scent for winter. But… zero longevity and projection. Literally, I spray it and 95% of it’s gone in five minutes, leaving only something soft on clothes for hours, nothing on skin. I’m left with a huge disappointment because it’s truly a delight.
Just got a batch from 2016. It’s a gem. Obviously lasts longer than the current ones. If you want something similar, the Velvet Zafferano by D&G is the gold version. Highly recommended. Still, just for the scent alone, this The One is a 10.
Sometimes love for a perfume isn’t instant, and The One is the perfect example. At first, it didn’t attract me, but over time, it became a pure delight. The opening is refreshing with grapefruit, cilantro, and basil, a vibrant start. Then cardamom and ginger take the spotlight with a spicy, warm touch. In the dry-down, amber adds sweetness and smoky depth, while tobacco and cedar round out the experience. It’s not for heat or daily wear; it evokes elegance for dinners or dates. Not for teenagers, but for someone with class. Although longevity and projection aren’t the best, it attracts compliments. Worth reapplying. My rating: 8.5/10.
I’ve had so many compliments with it, 10/10.
D&G The ONE EDT: Sparkling opening of grapefruit and basil, followed by a dry-down with ginger that leaves a sensational sweet tobacco, cedar, and amber by the hour. It’s the scent of an impeccable, seductive Italian gentleman. Women whisper ‘you smell so good’ in a low, intimate voice with carnal intent. It’s for dates and for making love. Scent: 10/10. Projection and sillage: I don’t care, they’re moderate. Longevity: I don’t care either, 2 hours in the shower and 4 on skin. I recommend more than 10 sprays and reapplying every two hours if needed. Alongside Pour Homme, it’s a marvel; both share that exquisite tobacco note. For close encounters and making love.
I stumbled upon this while reading reviews for The One. My nose is a beginner, and I received it as a gift from my grandfather, who said he wouldn’t wear it because of his age. I thought it would be an amber scent for an older gentleman, but on winter nights, I experienced pure magic. It doesn’t project much, but it’s a pure delight for yourself. Incredibly warm, with tobacco and an undisclosed chocolate hugging each other beautifully, like smoking a Havana in front of a fireplace. It’s super intimate, for one or for the person you share intimacy with. It doesn’t last long and the bottle is a bit awkward, so decant it if you plan to wear it late. Wear it in pajamas, at a cold movie, or on 1-on-1 dates. Not for impressing the office. It’s the 80s movie charm: a seductive man and a woman. The One by D&G.
It’s an intimate gem! Beautiful, elegant, and deeply personal. It doesn’t shout from afar but captivates when you get close. Soft, refined, and super masculine. On skin, it’s warm and inviting, almost like your signature scent. Yes, you need to reapply, but when it’s there… it’s spectacular. Perfect for dates, dinners, or real moments where you want to be smelled up close. Projection: 6/10, Longevity: 6/10, Elegance: 9/10, Seduction: 9/10.
Sprayed it at the office and instantly felt like a vintage gentleman—casual yet classy. The opening is strong, but once it dries down, it smells incredible. Not for kids aged 15-20; better suited for men over 25 who dress well. Try a decant first; don’t just go by the reviews, you might not like it.
